Owned by the famous florist network FTD, Proflowers mostly uses local shops to hand-deliver your bouquets and arrangements, so you shouldn't have to worry about your blooms wilting as they go cross-country. For everything from "get well” wishes to birthday greetings, you'll find lots to choose from here.
Easy-to-use website, but limited availability in some areas
We really loved shopping on the Proflowers website (mostly). It's laid out in a way that even the most clueless of last-minute shoppers will find reassuring and easy. (Not pointing fingers...) We recommend entering the delivery zip code and desired date right on the homepage: on some flower delivery sites we reviewed, it was aggravating to find the perfect arrangement, only to find out when we tried to order it that it wasn't available in our recipient's area. But, that's where we found the one glitchy aspect of shopping here: for the zip code we entered (in a suburban area outside of Milwaukee), we were told there were no products available for next-day delivery. Given that Proflowers offers same-day flowers, we were caught off-guard by that. In fact, for that zip code, our only options started with a date two days later, so keep that in mind if you're looking for day-of flower delivery.
Helpful filters and sorting tools
Beyond that, though, it was really smooth to see the various arrangements and options. Proflowers lets you sort them by relevance or price, and you can easily narrow things down by the occasion, the color you want to highlight, the type of flower, or the price range of what you're looking to spend.
Prices are solidly average within the industry
Speaking of which, prices are about average at Proflowers when compared with many rival flower delivery businesses we evaluated. For example, on a basic sympathy arrangement, the lowest options were $45 (like the Feast of Color, Star Spangled, and Vintage Glamour arrangements). And, on our other comparison flowers, a dozen red roses, it was the same price. For both arrangements, that's anywhere from $10 to $15 more than you'd pay with some of the competitors on our list, but about that much cheaper than others. And, for reference, long-stemmed roses were $75 for a dozen.
Some upgrades available
As you add the flowers you want to send to your cart, you can add a greeting card or an extra something. For example, when we ordered the Sunshine & Joy Garden planter box, we were offered a "Guess How Much I Love You” card and a Smoldering Rose candle. It would be nice if Proflowers had a few more options (like maybe a "get well” card and some chocolates instead), but we appreciate having a few upgrade choices.
Pay attention to the details
During the checkout process, you'll have to create an account. That's also so that Proflowers can send you annual reminder emails (if you check the box to opt in); it's also optional to specify a particular occasion and/or write a gift message. It won't be until the next screen that you'll find out the delivery cost of your flowers; on that Sunshine & Joy planter we mentioned, priced at $74, the standard delivery cost was $18.99. We weren't excited to see that those flowers were designated as "shipped in a box”, when the rest of the site made it sound like all of the arrangements would be delivered by a local florist. (So pay attention to all of those kinds of details.)
Solid guarantees... theoretically
In theory, Proflowers guarantees that your flowers will stay fresh for 7 days (or 14 days on lush plants). We can appreciate that customer-friendly policy, but we're not sure that it's being applied in practice, looking at reviews from those who have used this flower delivery service and found it wanting.
Customer comments aren't that enthusiastic
Because it's an FTD subsidiary, you won't find a separate Better Business Bureau listing for Proflowers. But, you can see its own specific feedback on Trustpilot - and the customer comments there are mixed but mostly negative, averaging just 2.3 stars out of 400+ reviews. Although we read some compliments for Proflowers, even rating it higher than some of the rival flower delivery companies on our list, most of the rants left within a few weeks of our review described arrangements that didn't make it on time for a funeral, poor substitutions that didn't match the quality or the colors of what was ordered, and orders taken and then canceled last-minute. It's not a good look for Proflowers.
Wouldn't be our first choice for flower delivery
True, there are some customers who have actually had a good experience with this flower delivery service. But you've got tons of options out there, and we suggest looking at the higher-ranked florists in our evaluation before you settle on using Proflowers.

Each bouquet can carry its own meaning - roses for love, lilies for sympathy, sunflowers for cheer - making flowers a perfect gift for almost any occasion.
Flower delivery can easily bring the beauty and joy of fresh blooms directly to your door (or the doorstep of someone special) without the hassle of going to a flower shop - when you order online. When you use a flower delivery website, you get access to a variety of options, from timeless classics like those roses and lilies to unique, seasonal arrangements curated by skilled florists.
Some services even offer same-day or next-day delivery, so you can send a thoughtful gift even if you're shopping at the last minute. How do they get it done? Usually, online flower delivery services are partnered with a florist network, so that your order is fulfilled by someone local (although there are a few who ship their bouquets directly from the farm).
Want to make your gift even more special? You can often add on a vase, balloons, chocolates, or a custom greeting card with a personal message. This flexibility makes it easy to personalize your order so that it perfectly fits the sentiment you want to convey.
