Live and Sleep offers eco-friendly materials like visco-elastic foam that also offers cooling during the night. The mattresses are organized into three categories - Classic, Elite, and Luxury - but all three offer only foam (no hybrid) mattresses.

A narrow focus on mattresses

You can see the three types of mattresses offered by Live and Sleep from the main page or by using the top navigation bar. Live and Sleep also offers pillows, but some other popular bedding items are notably missing. Live and Sleep doesn't offer sheets, bed frames, or comforters as we've seen from other brands. The main focus is the foam mattresses, and that's it. When you start shopping for mattresses, they're all on one page, and you can change selections from the main categories to see the range of sizes. While the brand lists cali king as an option, the cali king size was out of stock for all three mattress types.

Pricing from $399 to $999

Among the three main categories, you'll find plenty of foam layers and comfort. The Classic mattress is designed with a plush layer on top and a deep support layer. It has a medium-firm feel. The Elite mattress offers cooling and total body support with a firm feel. Finally, the Luxury mattress offers cooling and a plush top with memory foam and the same core support as the Classic. This is a medium-balanced feel. To give you an idea of the costs, we priced out the basic model and the top-tier model of foam mattress at Live and Sleep. Our prices include queen-size mattresses as the baseline. Here's what we found:

  • Basic Model: Classic Queen
This model is said to be a good all-around option, but the details on the mattress itself are scarce. The browsing page just gives you basic dimensions, and we only found a few mentions of a breathable cover, 10” thick memory foam, and total body support while scrolling. The price for a queen mattress is $599. If you're interested in other sizes, you can find a twin for $399 and a king for $699.
  • Top model: Luxury Queen
The Luxury mattress is the top model at Live and Sleep, offering a breathable cover, a 12” thick memory foam middle, gel-infused memory foam for cooling, and total body support. We struggled to find details with the Luxury without scrolling for a while too, so Live and Sleep could put some effort into sprucing up its product pages. The queen foam mattress costs $899 for the Luxury model. If you want other sizes, Live and Sleep offers a twin for $599 and a king for $999.

Free shipping and returns between 30-100 nights

Live and Sleep offers free and fast shipping on every mattress, so you don't have to worry about extra costs to get it to your home. The return policy is a little more complicated than at other brands, though. Depending on what model you buy, the length of the sleep trial will change. For the Classic models, the return period is anytime between your 15th and 30th night using the mattress. If you choose the Elite or Luxury models, you can return after your 50th night and up to your 100th night with the mattress. In other words, you have to use each mattress for a required "break in” period before you are eligible to make the return.

No buzz for Live and Sleep

Currently, there are no third-party reviews for Live and Sleep. The company does not have a page with the Better Business Bureau and there are no ratings on trusted review sites like Sitejabber or Trustpilot. The only place we even found reviews was a site that appeared to be a blog review posted in 2023. While this review rated Live and Sleep around 4 stars, that doesn't reflect individual customer opinions.

Other brands are doing it better

While the prices are decent at Live and Sleep, there are a few red flags that make us more wary. First, there are no reviews for Live and Sleep that offer third-party verification or customer feedback. On top of that, the company doesn't have enough detail on the foam mattresses and uses a lot of buzzwords like "eco-friendly” without describing more about how that is achieved beyond visco-elastic. Overall, there are brands with better reputations that provide clearer product descriptions so you know what you're buying. Since Live and Sleep doesn't hit the mark on any of these factors, it earns a lower rating from us.

Where is the Best Place to Buy Foam Mattresses?

A good night's sleep is essential to your health and well-being, and a great mattress is one of the best ways to ensure you get your forty winks. And what better way to get the best-quality rest of your life than to grab a foam mattress?

So what is a foam mattress? There are two primary types of foam used in beds: polyurethane foam and memory foam. Both contain the same basic ingredients, but polyurethane usually has a "springier” surface and it's generally less costly. Memory foam, on the other hand, was developed by NASA in the 1960s, but it didn't take off as a bedding material until the 1990s.

Foam Mattress FAQ

When you hear "foam mattress", you might immediately think of egg carton-like pads used for sleepovers or campouts. Those are nothing like the foam mattresses that have taken the bedding industry by storm: well-constructed, delivered right to your home, and possibly giving you the best night's sleep you've ever had.
Traditional mattresses often create pressure points, leaving you sore and restless. Foam mattresses are designed to contour to your body, offering support and comfort all night long.
Yes - and sometimes you can even find options with different levels of firmness on each side! Not every manufacturer offers you a choice, but you can read through customer reviews to see how each brand "sleeps". The experience varies based on the sleeper's weight, sleeping position, and other factors, so finding comments from people similar to you can be a good guide for your purchase.
You'll spend anywhere from $390 to $6100 for a foam mattress. As you'd expect, twin sizes are less expensive than king-size mattresses, and many manufacturers have designs ranging from basic to luxury.
Yes. Most of the time, your foam mattress will be delivered at no extra charge. Considering how much effort it would take to go to a local mattress store and drive it home yourself (or worse, pay for delivery), this is a huge perk when buying a foam mattress online. There might be a learning curve to get your mattress set up initially - you may have even seen a few humorous unboxing videos, showing how these mattresses expand when you take them out of the box - but most customers say it's pretty straightforward.
Usually within 1-2 weeks. You might have to wait a little longer during popular buying times (with June through September being the busiest times, since the mattress industry usually debuts new products then).
This is probably one of the biggest perks to buying a foam mattress: most manufacturers give you a lengthy trial period ranging from several weeks to a year, so that you can put it to use and see how well you sleep. That's important because foam mattresses can take some getting used to (and you might actually feel a little sore for the first few days to a week!). Better yet, some of the best foam mattress companies will let you return your mattress (or donate it locally) absolutely free of charge if you decide during the trial period that you don't like it.
Absolutely! It's easy to find thousands of reviews from customers and a Better Business Bureau listing for most foam mattress companies today, so you can feel perfectly confident ordering your new bed from any one of them. Sweet dreams!

Continued from above...

There are tons of benefits to choosing a foam mattress over a traditional style. Foam can help relieve pressure points and provide more support across your body. Basically, if you want to feel like you sink into your mattress (like a soft cocoon for a good night's sleep), you'll want to check out memory foam ASAP.

Experts say foam mattresses are good for pressure points, but what does that mean for your overall health? Memory foam helps with back pain, relief from joint pain, and deeper sleep, according to some studies. Plus, foam mattresses offer motion isolation, which helps prevent any bouncing or wiggling if you sleep with a partner. You'll also get benefits like temperature regulation, and some relief for those who suffer from sleep apnea.

In days past, shopping for a mattress was a whole event. You'd have to find a local mattress shop and try out all the beds before you pick from the available options. Now, you can shop for your next mattress totally online. This opens up hundreds of styles from different sizes, shapes, thicknesses, and more. Plus, most retailers will ship your new mattress directly to your home. Foam mattresses will typically ship in a vacuum-sealed container and may take a few hours to fully expand once you receive them. It feels very sci-fi.

If you're ready to stop counting sheep and get the best sleep of your life, we're right there with you, and we've put together a list of factors to help you narrow your options. Here are some things to keep in mind:

  • Cost. Whether you're grabbing a new full-size mattress for your apartment or finally splurging on that California King, price is going to be a factor. Not all foam mattresses are made the same, so make sure you check the price, the features, and the type of foam offered by each retailer to make sure you're getting a good deal.
  • Inventory. Some mattress brands have only a few mattresses to choose from. However, others offer a wide range of styles. Picking a one-stop shop with plenty of mattresses can help you find what you need in one browsing session. Plus, look out for extras like foam pillows that you can grab all in one go.
  • Guarantees. With something as important as a mattress, you'll want to make sure the retailer or brand stands behind their work. Look for satisfaction guarantees, lengthy trial periods, and helpful return policies that will make you feel more confident in buying a mattress from that retailer.
  • Reputation. Last but not least, check out the foam mattress brand's reputation. With sites like Sitejabber, Trustpilot, and the Better Business Bureau, you can get a quick snapshot of how trustworthy a brand is. How do other sleepers like you feel about their experience?

To help you stop having nightmares about your bed, Top Consumer Reviews has researched and ranked the top foam mattress brands out there today. This way, you can sink into your new mattress at the end of a long day and enjoy the support and relaxation of memory foam. Just imagine: you'll be looking forward to naps more than ever with your comfortable new foam mattress. Sweet dreams!
