Gift-giving can be a challenge - what do you give your neighbor who just had a baby? What arrangement sends the right message to a colleague, striking the perfect balance of "wow" and "professional"? And, everyone knows that gift cards are just plain boring, right?
Gift baskets hit all the right notes no matter the occasion: expertly packaged, beautifully arranged, and full of an assortment of the perfect snacks, toys, or other items designed to match the moment. The sky is truly the limit, with budget-friendly gift baskets that might have a small toy and a candy bar for a child's birthday, all the way up to the most decadent, luxurious array of fine wine and gourmet cheese to commemorate a long-anticipated promotion.
Sunday, January 24th
Since 1997, Gift Tree has excelled at "turning ordinary gifting moments into extraordinary ones". For both business and personal gift-giving occasions, this gift basket company focuses on high-quality products artfully packaged in keepsake containers for even more enjoyment after the gift has been delivered.
You'll find what you need
You'll have no problem finding the kind of gift basket you need when you use the Gift Tree online store. Scroll through the main page to shop by gift type, price or occasion. Or, use the links at the top of the site to see dropdowns for Gift Baskets, Wine & Champagne, Shop by Occasion, Shop by Price or Gift Collections. Also, don't miss the Exclusive Offers tab: there, we found a 15% discount on their Birthday Collection, savings of up to 20% on wine, and several other promotions.
So many gift baskets
There are so many different types of Gift Baskets at this store. Some of your choices include:
Get an overview
If you're not quite sure what you want, we suggest you start by clicking on All Gift Baskets, to get an overview of what Gift Tree has to offer. Each basket's preview shows you what to expect inside, the price, and the earliest available ship/delivery day.
Real customer reviews
Plus, many of the gift baskets have customer reviews, to help you see which ones have been the biggest hit with previous shoppers. At the time of our most recent visit, the California Classic Wine Gift Basket was this store's most popular selection, with nearly 300 customer reviews. Priced at $49.95, this gift includes a bottle of California wine (or two bottles, for an extra $10) and an assortment of tasty treats like pineapple crisps, cinnamon almonds, oatmeal tea cookies and more. As with most of the Gift Baskets offered by this company, you can personalize the gift ribbon to include your own message; you'll find that option in the checkout process.
Delivery within 2 days
One of the strongest reasons for choosing Gift Tree for your gift basket purchase is their ability to deliver within 2 days to almost everywhere within the United States. The company has locations in Washington, Texas and North Carolina, making it easy to get a well-crafted arrangement delivered quickly. Even Gift Tree's hand-personalized options can be prepared for delivery in a single business day, then turned around for 2-day shipping.
Exceptional satisfaction guarantee
Gift Tree has an exceptional satisfaction guarantee. If you or your gift recipient aren't 100% happy with the basket, contact the merchant immediately to get a replacement, credit or refund. You may need to return any non-perishable components of your gift basket (toys, clothes, etc.), and that has to be done within 30 days of delivery. All fresh and perishable items, such as flowers, balloons and fruit, won't need to be returned and are also covered by the satisfaction guarantee.
Available 7 days a week
This company extends its commitment to customers by being available 7 days a week via live chat, email, and toll-free number. If you need help picking out a gift basket, have a question about the ingredients in a food arrangement, or want to double-check a delivery timeframe, Gift Tree's representatives stand at the ready from 5a-7p PST on weekdays, 6a-3:30p PST on Saturdays, and 8a-1P PST on Sundays.
Special occasion reminders
A unique perk we found with Gift Tree is that they'll give you a reminder when special occasions are coming up. For example, if you're buying a birthday gift for Grandma, you can expect a contact from a Gift Tree rep at this time next year as a reminder that it might be time to start shopping - and you'll get a discount code via email to sweeten the deal.
Gift Tree has an excellent reputation - from an "A+" rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau to thousands of comments from customers describing a flawless gift-giving experience, complete with very happy recipients. If you're looking for a high-quality gift basket, attention to detail, and a strong commitment to your satisfaction, you can't go wrong with Gift Tree. This retailer earns our highest rating.
What's the perfect gift to send to a foodie - or from one? Obviously, only the most gourmet selections qualify, so if that description fits you or your gift recipient, you'll definitely want to start your search for a gift basket at Gourmet Gift Baskets.
You can find your way around the site easily, shopping by occasion, free shipping options, and more. We were blown away by the possibilities just scrolling through the main page:
You can find gifts for under $35 at this store, but none of them are a traditional basket style. Instead, you'll choose from popcorn tins, boxes of cookies, and so on. The lowest-priced Gift Basket is the Baked Goods sampler for $39.99. This "gourmet experience" includes 5 different flavors of brownies/blondies and 4 flavors of cookies (2 per package).
For the really impressive options, you'll want to look under the "Signature Series" section. The highest-end selection offered by Gourmet Gift Baskets is the Ultimate Dom Perignon. For $400, your lucky recipient will receive a bottle of the famous champagne and an assortment of treats to go with it, such as cheddar cheese, butter toffee peanuts, and much more.
Watch out for extra savings opportunities: when we visited the site recently, we got a pop-up offering us a 10% discount if we signed up for the Gourmet Gift Baskets email list.
We were really impressed with Gourmet Gift Baskets' reputation. Accredited by the BBB, the store had an "A+" grade at the time of our review - and we were amazed to see that the company has been in business for nearly 80 years! Customer comments on the site tell the same story: we saw many people describing a perfect gift-giving experience, with on-time deliveries and impressed gift recipients. Many of these comments were from businesses who use Gourmet Gift Baskets year after year for holiday gift-giving or other corporate occasions.
Vague return policy
We were glad to see such happy customers, because Gourmet Gift Baskets' satisfaction/return policy continues to be a little vague. Most products seem to have a satisfaction guarantee that gets you a replacement order at no charge, but there's no option for a full refund. Non-perishable items can be returned, but you'll only get a store credit if it's sent back within 15 days of delivery.
On the whole, Gourmet Gift Baskets could be your go-to store if you're looking for a unique, tasty surprise for a food lover. Your gift is sure to be a hit: well-presented, high-quality ingredients, and delivered right on time.
Are you tired of the same old gift baskets? Wishing you could pick out exactly what you want? That makes you the ideal customer for Design It Yourself Gift Baskets! With this store, you can take the reins as much - or as little - as you like, which means your gift will be perfectly customized for your gift-giving occasion.
Design your own gift basket
If you love the idea of picking it all, you'll want to choose the Design It Yourself route. You'll select a theme, a container, and then all of the products you want to include. Some of the available themes are Spa & Pamper, That's Italian! and Coffee Lovers. Containers range from woven decorative baskets to collapsible gift boxes, and you can easily see the total "completed gift basket" price next to each one. Finally, you'll select each of the products that will go into your finished gift. The interface is a little outdated-looking, but we loved being able to choose even the smallest details, such as the color of a hand towel or the scent of a candle.
But, maybe you feel overwhelmed by the thought of having to choose every little thing in your gift basket order but still want to send something unique. Design It Yourself's Gift Express option is perfect for you. Just specify your budget, choose a theme, fill out the gift card and select any add-ons you definitely want to include. From there, the team at DIY will build a gift basket to match. You won't know exactly which products are going into your delivery, but maybe that's part of the fun?
And, for that third category of people - the ones who just want to click a button and say "yes, send exactly THAT" - Design It Yourself offers a good selection of traditional, ready-to-go options. One of our favorite pre-selected gift baskets is the BIG Texas Thank You. Because this company is based in Houston, they know what it takes to send a Lone Star State-themed arrangement! Priced at $94.95, here's what's packed inside the southwestern-styled galvanized tub:
All of the gift baskets, from DIY to pre-selected, have optional upgrades and add-ons at the bottom of the page. They may not match your theme - would you really put a jar of Nutella in a Texas-themed arrangement? - but it's a nice way to pick out something extra, add some balloons or stuffed animals, and so on.
In that same section of the page, you'll find the option to include a personalized message on a satin ribbon? Choose the ribbon color and add a message of up to 45 characters (including spaces) for an extra $7.95.
100% satisfaction guarantee
Design It Yourself Gift Baskets has made some welcome improvements to their customer policies since our last review. Everything you order is now covered by a 100% satisfaction guarantee: you can opt for a full refund, store credit or replacement if you're not happy with the quality or condition of any part of the gift basket. The company asks that you contact them within 3 days of delivery if there's a problem, and they promise to make it right.
Improvements like that are a big part of the reason for this store's positive reputation. They enjoy an "A+" rating and accreditation from the BBB. We would like to see more customer feedback on the DIY site itself, especially reviews on individual gift baskets, so that shoppers have a clearer idea of which products have been a hit with their recipients.
Pricing with Design It Yourself Gift Baskets is comparable to other stores on the market. Helpful hint: make sure to click on the Specials & Best Sellers tab at the top of the page. On our last visit to the site, we found a discount coupon for a savings of 10% sitewide - and that wasn't advertised anywhere else, no pop-up, etc.
Truly unique gifts
Shopping for a gift basket doesn't have to be boring. We recommend Design It Yourself for its wide selection of add-ons, the ability to create a truly unique gift, and their improved commitment to customer satisfaction.
All About Gifts & Baskets has climbed in our rankings since our last evaluation of the company. In the past, their selection was heavily focused on Christmas gifts, making them a limited option for other occasions. But, with many upgrades and changes, this company now offers a wide range of gift baskets and other presents for corporate occasions, housewarming and birthday parties, and much more.
Quickly find your gift basket
On the main store page, you'll find all of the links you need to quickly jump to the kind of gift you're looking for. You can shop by occasion, recipient, desired price range, and more. This was the only retailer in our review that had a designated category for Diabetic(-friendly) gifts: just be aware that you may need to select a specific option (like sugar-free cookies) to make your gift appropriate for someone with diabetes, because it may not be automatic.
More than 400 premade gift baskets
Not exactly sure what kind of gift basket to buy? We recommend clicking on the general Gift Baskets page. You'll see more than 400 options - plenty in the categories you'd expect, like Fruit Baskets and Gourmet, but also some really novel ones like Nut-Free, Books, Fishing, Gardening and Patriotic. Even these more unique categories usually had at least a dozen varieties to choose from.
How often it was purchased
While you won't find hundreds of customer reviews on each available gift basket, we discovered that you can see how many times each one has been purchased. One of our favorite options for corporate gift-giving is the Fine and Fancy Gourmet Gift Tote, which had been purchased almost 80 times in the previous month. What makes it our favorite? If you order at least 25, you can get free hang tags with your full-color artwork, like your company logo or custom art message. What a great way to simplify the often tedious process of sending corporate thank-you's! Plus, the basket comes with a nice selection of premium treats, such as Lindt Truffles, Almond Roca, Ghirardelli chocolate, and much more, all priced at $89.95.
On our most recent shopping trip on the All About Gifts & Baskets store, we got an interesting pop-up showing us the world's largest (shippable) fortune cookie - along with an announcement that 10 new gifts are added each month, and that we'd get a discount for providing our email address.
Shipping costs extra
Shipping costs can be a little spendy on this site. For a delivery date more than a week from the time we placed our order, we would pay $16.95 for ground shipping. Expedited shipping (3 business days) was $31.90, and rush shipping (2 business days) was $41.90. It might be worth it to click on the navigation link "FREE Shipping Gift Baskets" to see your options, if you're trying to stay within a budget and don't want it blown out of the water in shipping costs.
Improved return policy
This retailer has improved their return policy since our last visit. They now guarantee that you'll be satisfied with your gift basket order. If anything doesn't meet your expectations, contact them within a week of delivery. Damaged orders will be replaced or refunded. If you have a problem with an individual item in the package, you'll either get a replacement or refund for that specific part.
Pleased to recommend
Customers praise All About Gifts & Baskets for the high quality of their gift options, on-time delivery, and very helpful customer service representatives. This attention to their clients is reflected by an "A+ rating and accreditation at the BBB. With such a good track record, a great selection of gift basket themes you might not find elsewhere, and significant improvements to their customer service, All About Gifts & Baskets has become a gift basket company we're pleased to recommend.
Pemberton Farms Marketplace started in 1930 as a fruit and vegetable shop in Massachusetts. Still run as a family-owned business, the company is a combination of specialty grocery store, garden center, and premium gift supplier.
Hit or miss
Shopping the Pemberton Farms website was hit-or-miss. We found a promotional discount order for a holiday that was months away (in either direction on the calendar), and there were a few broken links at the bottom of the site (Our History under the About Us section).
Hunting for gift baskets
There also was no dedicated page specifically for Gift Baskets. You'll have to look for your options under each of these product categories:
You can also shop by occasion, but you'll still have to search for Gift Basket options in each of those categories.
New England gift baskets
Our favorite gift baskets sold by Pemberton Farms are the New England Baskets. You'll find these under the Fruit & Gourmet Baskets section of the store. Here are some of the delicious varieties you can send to a lucky recipient:
You'll also find plenty of traditional options as you browse the site. From wine to fruit, chocolate to baby gifts, Pemberton has it - though their selection isn't the most robust we've seen when comparing gift basket companies.
Upfront shipping fees
Shipping costs at Pemberton are determined by weight. You'll pay $14.95 for gifts under 11 lbs., $29.95 for orders weighing up to 20 lbs., and so on. While that's more expensive than many of the gift basket companies we reviewed, we appreciate that this retailer is upfront with those fees instead of letting it be a surprise during the checkout process.
Perfect Delivery guarantee
Pemberton Farms offers a "Perfect Delivery Guarantee": if you're unhappy with your gift basket for any reason, you're eligible for a full refund or an appropriate replacement. As with most companies, this assumes that you gave the correct delivery address; they're not responsible for gifts that arrive in poor condition due to being sent to the wrong place if you put in an incorrect address.
We like shopping with family-owned businesses, and Pemberton Farms gives every indicator that they provide a good customer service experience when ordering through their online store. While their site and selection aren't as impressive as some of the highest-ranked gift basket companies we evaluated, Pemberton Farms is still worth considering for your gift basket purchase - especially if you'd like to send a gift that is traditionally New England.
Canterberry Gifts is another new gift basket store - so new that the site doesn't even have an About Us page! There's also no listing with the BBB and few customer product reviews to be found, neither on the individual gift baskets sold nor on third-party sites across the web. But, we were encouraged to see a handful of reviews on the site, all extremely positive and praising the overall shopping experience when buying gift baskets through Canterberry Gifts.
You can shop by type of basket, price range, occasion, or browse all available gift baskets. This gift basket company offers some clever combinations we didn't see on competitor sites. Some of our favorites were:
No add-ons offered
There were no add-on options given, so each gift basket comes as you see it. Other gift basket stores often offer the ability to throw in some extra candy, some balloons or other upgrades, so keep in mind that "what you see is what you get" with this retailer.
Like many providers of Gift Baskets, Canterberry Gifts will give you a 10% discount on your first order if you sign up for their email newsletter. You should see that offer as a pop-up when you visit the site. (We actually had a hard time making that pop-up go away so that we could finally shop the store!)
Pricey shipping fees
We didn't find any free shipping options here. In fact, other than the ground shipping option for $9.95, all of the other delivery choices for the gift basket we selected were at least $37 (3 business days). If you want next-day delivery, you'll pay over $80! Your fees will be determined by the weight and dimensions of the gift basket you order. This is definitely not the most affordable gift basket company if you need something there in a hurry.
Lack of satisfaction guarantee
Another issue we found with this newer gift basket company is their lack of a satisfaction guarantee. The return policy says that you can return unopened items within 15 days of delivery, but what if your chocolate arrives in bad condition, your mug is broken, or the sausage tastes rancid? We'd like to see Canterberry Gifts be more specific about what a customer can expect, since our highest-ranked retailers are very clear (and some even provide a 100% guarantee, no questions asked).
Room to improve
Because of the overwhelmingly positive nature of the few customer reviews we found and the unique assortment of gift baskets, Canterberry Gifts earns a somewhat tentative 3-star rating. To maintain this score - or better yet, to move up in our rankings - we'd like to see this gift basket company develop a solid satisfaction guarantee, offer some free shipping options, and expand the number of customer reviews on the site. We look forward to seeing this retailer's growth in the future.
The Best Gift Baskets is one of the newer gift basket companies on the market. You'll find the typical assortment of gift-giving occasions like baby showers and birthdays, without too many unique options that really jump out at you. Even the holiday-themed gift baskets weren't really specific to that celebration: the Halloween choices had candy but nothing with pumpkins, skeletons or decorations, the New Year's baskets primarily focused on alcohol, and so on.
We found the pricing on The Best Gift Baskets to be relatively high. For example, the Ghirardelli Galore Chocolate Gift Basket was priced at $59.99 (which doesn't include delivery). Considering that the package contains 2 bags of Ghirardelli squares, 2 candy bars, and 2 pouches of hot chocolate, you do the math and decide if that sounds like a good deal. We also didn't see any possibilities for adding extra items like candy or stuffed animals, no personalization options for the gift packaging, and no reviews from previous customers.
Shipping is more expensive with The Best Gift Baskets than some of the retailers in our review. Expect to pay $14.95 for ground shipping, no matter what kind of gift basket you order. Expedited options are available, starting at $24.95 for 3 business day delivery, $39.95 for next business day, and $59.95 for Saturday delivery.
Awkward customer service
What kind of a reputation does The Best Gift Baskets have? Great question. At the bottom of the site, it clearly says "no rating available" when looking at the Google score. There's also no listing for this company on the Better Business Bureau database - and, strangely, when we called the customer service number on the company's "Contact Us" page, it was a personal phone number! We wondered if it was the "Bill" listed in the email contact info. The site does say that's his personal email. That's awkward!
Hard to tell
This could be the best gift basket company to hit the market - but with such a limited history, it's hard to know if it will really deliver. Will they honor their 100% satisfaction guarantee? Will you get attentive, courteous customer service if there's a problem? There's no way of knowing until this store builds up a history of solid customer interactions and reviews.
Don't be fooled by the name: From You Flowers has an extensive line of gift baskets that include way more than just roses and tulips. That's a big change from the last time we evaluated this gift basket store, when they had little to offer and what they did have was difficult to sort through.
More than 300 gift baskets
From your first moment on the Gift Baskets page of the site, you'll see right away that they have more than 300 options to choose from. You can sort them by price range and best sellers, or go to the navigation links on the left side to shop by occasion or type of gift.
Same day delivery
This is also one of the only gift basket retailers that offers same-day delivery on selected orders. You can find that link on the left side of the page. Also, as you browse the options, each gift basket is clearly labeled as Same Day or Next Day delivery, making this a great choice if you need your gift to arrive very soon.
Confused shopping experience
On the lowest end of the price range on From You Flowers, most of the choices under "Gift Baskets"... aren't actually baskets at all. Instead, you'll find roses with stuffed animals, chocolate-covered strawberries, and balloons. The first actual gift basket is the Sweetest Candy design, which includes several varieties of candy you'd probably find in the checkout aisle at your grocery store. You've got 3 price points for this gift basket: $37.99 for Regular, $47.49 for Deluxe, and $56.99 for Premium - but no description to let you know exactly what the upgraded options include, other than "more candy" than the original. You'll also see add-on possibilities for balloons and teddy bears.
What does the upgrade get you?
The luxury end of the price scale at From You Flowers includes the Absolute Decadence gift basket. Once again, you have Regular, Deluxe and Premium options, ranging in price from $384.74 to $403.74 - and still with very few details to tell you exactly how much to expect. In general, this arrangement includes candies from Harry London, such as truffles, pralines, and chocolate espresso squares in a woven willow basket.
Some customer reviews
Although you won't see it in the previews of each gift basket, there may be customer reviews available when you click on specific items. For example, the candy basket we described had an average rating of 4.6/5 stars across two dozen reviews, while the Absolute Decadence assortment had no reviews at all.
Frustrating order process
When we ordered our gift basket, everything went smoothly until we got to the actual order/payment process. The $14.95 service/handling fee wasn't disclosed until the final "review order" page, which felt very underhanded. We appreciated the mysterious discount of $20.75 we were given, but then frustrated again when a link to "delivery rebate" popped up a blank screen.
Price increase at checkout
Finally, the basket we selected was listed at a discounted price on the site, but when we got to the final page before clicking "send order", we saw that it had reverted to the more expensive price. Maybe that's where the "delivery rebate" came in, but there was no explanation to confirm that conclusion.
While we appreciate From You Flowers' 100% satisfaction guarantee that offers you a refund or redelivery, that doesn't do much when gift baskets arrive late or not at all. Even the most impressive assortment of treats and presents isn't very impressive if it misses the person's birthday, and what good is a sympathy arrangement if it's delivered well after the memorial service?
Hundreds of complaints
Those are the kinds of complaints - hundreds of them - that we found when looking at this retailer's reputation on the BBB site. Yes, they respond appropriately to each complaint, which is largely why this store still has an "A+" rating there, but how much frustration and disappointment are you willing to risk? Given how much we experienced during the order process alone, we're not optimistic about the final outcome of any gift basket order placed with this store.
Just doesn't deliver
With so many options available when shopping for a gift basket, From You Flowers just doesn't deliver the kind of customer experience you deserve. We recommend that you consider the higher-ranked retailers in our review when placing your order.
Gift Basket offers premade and build-your-own gift baskets in a number of varieties. You can choose options for many occasions like birthdays and baby showers, as well as a range of assortments that include food, spa products and more. Also, on your first visit to the site, you'll probably get a pop-up with a 10% discount if you provide your email address.
Frustrating shopping experience
Using this site was frustrating. Every time we tried to sort through our options by price, it took us to the "build it yourself" page. Once we picked an individual gift basket we liked, we didn't have a problem adding it to the cart, though. And, unlike some gift basket stores we evaluated, this store makes it very clear what exactly is included with your purchase. You can also select add-ons like balloons, wine, and more.
Unfortunately, the ordering process was also aggravating. We couldn't even see how much we'd pay for shipping unless we actually placed our order. And, when we tried to edit the shipping - thinking that maybe UPS Ground was the default and included for free - we got no other choices, and still no price listed for delivery.
Disappointing return policy
Gift Basket has a disappointing return policy. Their 100% satisfaction guarantee only applies when a gift basket is returned in an unopened condition - and you'll still have to pay a $25 restocking fee. So, even if you're completely unhappy with the quality of the gift basket you ordered, one of the items is damaged, or a food product is spoiled, too bad: no refund for you.
And, when a company has an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau, you know it's buyer beware. No response from customer service when expensive deliveries never arrive, gift baskets that don't look anything like what was advertised, and nasty customer representatives are just some of the complaints leading to this poor reputation. And yet, Gift Basket proudly displays the BBB "Accredited Business" logo at the bottom of their site.
Better luck elsewhere
We can't think of one good reason to order a gift basket from this company. This is the lowest-ranked gift basket store in our review.
But, as you'll quickly notice as you begin to shop for a gift basket, some companies consistently deliver high-quality selections while others provide just the bare minimum and don't put much thought or effort into the presentation or the included items.
To make sure that your gift basket is a delivery that impresses, here are several criteria to keep in mind as you consider the gift basket companies on the market today:
TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best gift baskets available today. We hope this information helps you find the perfect basket for your next gift-giving occasion!
The giving of gift baskets can be traced to ancient Greece. In 19th-century England, gift hampers were routinely delivered by hand to denizens of the country by visitors from London. These English offerings were meant to denote a degree of sophistication on the part of the giver, offering as they did products and wares country dwellers were hard pressed to find. They might even have included novelties and delicacies from the reaches of the British Empire.
Today, gift baskets are enjoying a healthy resurgence stateside. Why are gift baskets so popular? Their variety, versatility, and visual appeal render them a welcome offering to friends, family and acquaintances on most any occasion.
Variety and Number
Since a gift offering is nearly always appreciated, as an offering of multiple gifts -- neatly packaged in a single container - it is a can't-lose proposition. Offering more than one gift at a time can result in a sharing of the gift with friends of the recipient -- a move that cannot fail to boost your reputation. This strategy can be very effective with gifts of food, flowers, and even non-food themed gifts. A small business owner's sharing an office gift basket is de rigueur, almost cliche.
But think of how the baby goods gift basket you offer to a friend might be shared with other new moms. A themed gift basket to a knitting or crafting hobbyist, for example, might be shared with an entire crafting circle. Similarly, a bowling-themed basket might end up benefiting an entire league team. Of course, the more thought you put into the content of the basket, the more suitable the design and conception, the better.
In an age where business and personal friendships are formed via various types of media -- where your best friend forever might be an Internet acquaintance you have never met -- gift baskets make an ideal choice. For one thing, they can be as personal or as impersonal as you like. For a new business client, a basket of wines that are generally judged to be of good quality is perfectly suitable. For your spouse or significant other, a basket filled with items that suit her tastes - right down to brand, flavor and color -- strikes just the right note of intimacy, indicating a high degree of interest and attachment on your part. Indeed, gift baskets come in such variety and are formulated with such creativity that they can make ideal gifts for everyone from newborns to centegenarians, from new neighbors to the dearest of friends.
Even the English gift hampers of yore were generally decorative standouts. Gift basket packaging has only gained in visual elegance since then. Many purveyors continue to offer basket-like containers adorned with colorful shrink wrap. But more originally designed offerings are truly on the rise. For example, some specialty retailers package gifts in reusable containers -- perfectly in line with the eco-consciousness of the moment. Other companies have been known to employ containers of stoneware or earthenware for a rustic feel. Glassware and clear polycarbonate material offer the recipient an easy view of what's inside. Decorative materials may include anything from burlap and jute to satin, silk, and crystal.
Gift baskets are projected to grow in popularity through the next decade. Whether you are shopping for intimate friend or brand new acquaintance, there's sure to be a selection that is perfectly appropriate.
