eGutter specializes in providing materials for residential, commercial, and industrial gutter systems. Established in 1997, the company offers a wide range of gutter- and roof-related products. They don't offer installation services but supply all necessary materials for contractors or homeowners to complete the job themselves. Alongside their gutter guards, eGutter provides a variety of roof and gutter-related accessories. These include roof and gutter cleaners, tools, ladder accessories, fasteners, sealants, paint, snow guards, and downspout strainers. This makes it convenient to get everything you need for your installation in one place.

Clunky website isn't ideal for browsing

Since eGutter doesn't do installation, there's no need to get an estimate. You can jump right into pricing for sections of gutter guards. However, the site does come across as pretty old-fashioned (like pre-Y2k internet era old, yikes!). It isn't a great browsing experience either. It's hard to find what you need and there are no filters for price, material or anything else to help narrow down the options for gutter guards. eGutter focuses on functionality over aesthetics, providing the necessary information to make a purchase, but not much else. Most gutter guards come in a minimum of 20 ft, so you'll be looking at a minimum cost of around $100 to $130 depending on what gutter guard you go with. Other things like shipping costs are harder to find, and you have to make an account with eGutter to actually complete the purchase.

No filters, but competitive inventory

Although their website could use an update to improve the shopping experience with more standard shopping features like filters, eGutter still offers a competitive selection. They feature 9 categories of gutter protection, including various shapes, sizes, and materials. Each category lists the unique features and descriptions of the products, helping you find the right fit if you know the size you need. The listings will also direct you to matching connectors or items you'll need to complete installation.

Site lacks installation details for newbies

Each product has a "Product Focus” PDF that explains its purpose with a diagram. However, there isn't enough helpful information if you're planning to self-install. Some of the PDFs will talk briefly about how easy installation is, but they don't offer clear step-by-step instructions. If you're totally in the dark on how to do gutter guards, you may not love eGutter's approach. Given this glaring issue, we were surprised there wasn't more information on how to hire a pro to do the job for you. Basically, eGutter leaves you totally on your own to deal with gutter guards. You may end up doing a lot of outside research to get the job done if you go with this provider.

30-day returns

eGutter allows returns within 30 days for items in new and unused condition. However, shipping costs will be deducted from the refund, and a 20% restocking fee applies. This policy makes it important to be certain of your purchase to avoid these additional charges. However, during our research, we couldn't find more than a handful of reviews for eGutter, including no rating from the Better Business Bureau. With so few reviews and a range of other issues like the clunky website, we're a little leery about recommending eGutter over other companies. The few reviews we did find suggest that their products are effective, although communication with customer service is a challenge.

Not a competitive service for most homeowners

While more customer reviews would be helpful, and a site update is much needed, if you know what you need and like eGutter's pricing, the service is legit. However, for most homeowners who are new to gutter guards, this won't be ideal as there aren't detailed instructions for installation. Given the lack of overall reviews, we're hesitant to recommend eGutter over other more established retailers.

Where Can You Find the Best Gutter Guards?

Gutter guards, also known as gutter screens or covers, are essential for preventing debris from entering rain gutters. If you're considering buying gutter guards, you likely understand the problems clogged gutters can cause. Debris can lead to water spilling over the sides and pooling at your home's base, causing costly foundation issues, encouraging mold and mildew growth, and creating a breeding ground for insects.

These problems can result in expensive repairs and significant inconvenience. Installing gutter guards is an obvious solution because they reduce the frequency of cleaning while still allowing rainwater to flow freely through the gutters. Many homeowners are pleasantly surprised by how affordable gutter guards can be.

Gutter Guard FAQ

Gutter guards are a system used to prevent leaves and other debris from clogging your gutters. Water is still allowed through and funneled away from your home as usual, while the solid materials remain on top (and are often carried away by the wind during and after the storm).
If by "work” you mean keeping the leaves and branches out, the answer is yes! Even in a heavy downpour, your system should have no problem keeping everything flowing smoothly. Of course, if it's raining hard enough to flood your gutters, you may still see an overflow of water.
The cost for your gutter guards will depend on several factors: the size of your home, the type of system, and the materials used. Expect pricing that ranges from $0.50 to $10 per foot, with a total system cost anywhere between $100 and $2,000.
Not exactly. While gutter guards can eliminate a lot of the dirty work, like cleaning muck out of the gutters and clearing clogs, you might still need to brush debris off the surface from time to time. The wind will probably take care of most of it, though.
The best gutter guards are designed to support the weight of snow and ice. Some customers worry that gutter guards can cause ice damming, but a properly-installed system can actually alleviate it: snow and ice are able to melt off the front of the gutter, instead of filling it up and growing larger on the roof line.
That's a smart question to ask. If you choose a system that installs under your shingles, your roofing warranty could be voided. Many systems attach to the fascia board instead, keeping your shingles intact and not interfering with the roof's warranty. You'll also want to look for gutter guards that come with a protective baffle, which makes it impossible for debris to enter the gutter from behind.
Yes. You can find many options for gutter guards at home improvement stores online and near you. However, unless you're somewhat experienced with DIY home repairs, it might be worth it to pay a professional to install them. You don't want to experience issues with leaking or damage your roof and gutters, and it's important that your gutter guards are pitched correctly too.
That depends on which manufacturer you choose and may also be affected by whether you installed the gutter guards or had them put in place by a professional. You could get a transferable warranty that lasts 20 years, a lifetime warranty, or no warranty at all. Be sure to read the details before making your purchase.

Some models even come with warranties that last up to 20 years. Most of these guards can be easily installed by snapping them onto the lip of your gutter, making the process quick and simple.

When choosing gutter guards, you have a variety of materials to consider, each offering different colors, durability levels, and sizes to meet your specific needs. Once installed, gutter guards require minimal maintenance, letting you set them and forget them. This one-time purchase significantly simplifies the upkeep of your home, saving you time and effort in the long run.

For the best shopping experience, consider purchasing gutter guards online. Numerous retailers offer a wide range of options, allowing you to compare prices and features from the comfort of your home. Online shopping enables you to quickly find the best deals and read customer reviews, ensuring that you choose high-quality, durable gutter guards based on the experiences of others.

Given the variety of companies selling gutter guards, we have put together an essential checklist to help you decide which brand to purchase:

  • Selection. Does the company offer a variety of sizes to fit your gutters perfectly? If you prefer a specific type of material, make sure the manufacturer provides options. Buying everything you need from one store is convenient, so look for a retailer with a large inventory that allows you to complete your purchase in a single online order.
  • Cost. How do the prices of gutter guards from different companies compare? Look for companies that run frequent sales to help you save money. Check if you can qualify for free shipping with a minimum purchase, further reducing costs.
  • Warranty. How long does the product last? Is it reliable or will you need to reinstall in a few years? Many modern options come with lifetime warranties, so double check you're getting the best guarantee on the market.
  • Return policy. If you measure incorrectly and buy gutter guards that don't fit, or if you change your mind about the color or material, find a company that offers a full refund or exchange. Some retailers even offer free returns, which is ideal.
