Propecia, generic name of finasteride, is an oral tablet to fight male-pattern baldness and is for men only. It's a doctor-prescribed medication, not covered by insurance, available through pharmacies. It cannot be purchased over the counter. Finasteride is the most commonly used drug in its class.
Be aware of the many contraindications
Since Propecia is prescription only, you should be prepared to let your doctor know if you have liver disease and let them know of any allergies, especially to finastera. The package also states you should let your doctor know if you are breastfeeding or trying to get pregnant - yet this medication is for men only - interesting. Pregnant and lactating women are encouraged to not even touch the product. Do not donate blood while taking this medication. Propecia can interfere with PSA tests for prostate cancer, so your doctor should be aware of your being on this drug. As decreased sexual drive, erections, and semen seem to be prominent side effects, be sure to ask your doctor if this could be permanent, even with discontinued use.
Prescription only
Propecia is a prescription medication available through pharmacies. It cannot be purchased over the counter or online because of the ingredients in this medicine.
Give it several months
If Propecia is going to work for you, you should expect results within three to four months of continued use. To see the full effects, you need to wait six to nine months.
Side effects
Some reports say seizures can be a side effect; other medical reports indicate this may not be the case. Possible reactions can be a rash as well as swelling of the face, lips, and tongue. Lack of sexual desire and erection can be an additional, and commonly complained-about side effect.

Zero return policy
As it's a prescription medication, the company doesn't offer a money-back guarantee.
Consumer feedback really depends
Users seem to be happy with the results of Propecia saying that they have decreased or stopped hair loss and have noticed a great deal of hair growth. Some long-term users have said that they have had 100% recovery. You'll need to be patient for a few months until you can see growth. Almost all of the reviewers have had sexual side effects - desire, erection, less semen - even if they haven't noticed the intended benefit of the product. Older patients seem to have little to no benefit - and as one person said, "You can't grow leaves on a dead tree."
Good product, bad side effects and high price
Many users are happy with the results of Propecia but unhappy with the sexual side effects and the price tag. There's a generic form, finastera, which users find offers good results at about half the price. Both Propecia and finasteride have men complaining of sexual side effects, some wondering if it's permanent. It's no wonder that this hair loss product is not one of our higher-ranking options.
What's the first thing you notice about a person you meet? Probably their hair. A full head of shiny hair is a sign of youthful appearance, and who doesn't want to look younger and feel more attractive? Hair thinning and hair loss can take a toll on our self-esteem and make us feel older and less desirable.
Hair loss seems to be more prevalent now as one of the effects of Covid-19 can be hair loss. Another major cause of hair loss can be stress, and living through a pandemic has been stressful on all of us. The concern is so prevalent recently that hair loss searches on the internet have gone up by eight percent, and dermatologists have had an inundation of patients looking for help with hair loss and thinning.
Hair loss has traditionally been a sensitive subject, but with all the supplements, creams, and hair replacement procedures advertised on TV and on billboards, this discussion topic isn't as delicate as it once was.
There are a few choices a person with hair loss can make. There are supplements available over the counter and by prescription; topical serums and creams; laser therapy, which hasn't been tested long-term; and hair replacement surgery. If you'd like to start right away and aren't looking for surgery, there are several supplements and topical products to slow down hair loss and encourage growth.
Before purchasing a hair loss product, here are a few things to consider.
