2026 Ice Cream Club Reviews

Where Can You Find the Best Ice Cream Clubs?  You love ice cream. We're not talking "grabs a pint at the grocery store every now and then" kind of love. We're talking "has a dedicated freezer drawer, owns more than one ice cream scoop, maybe even planned a road trip around regional creameries" kind of adoration. If that sounds like you, it might be time to stop rationing your sweet tooth and start living the dream with an ice cream subscription.

On the Amazing Clubs website

If you want premium ice cream delivered to your door each month without any guesswork, hassle, or weird flavor experiments, Amazing Clubs is the gold standard. This subscription checks every box - from delicious, crowd-pleasing flavors to flawless customer service - and that's why it continues to hold the top spot on our list.

Reliable pints, no surprises (unless you want them)

Each shipment from Amazing Clubs includes four pints of hand-crafted ice cream in a well-balanced mix of classic and seasonal flavors. Recent selections have included mouth-watering combos like Cupcake Cookie Dough, Maple Blonde Brownie, Cappuccino Crunch, and Double Vanilla Cashew Brickle, yum. You won't get to handpick your lineup, but you will know in advance what's coming. A few weeks before each delivery, you'll get a heads-up email with that month's selections - and if they're not your jam, you can skip that shipment in just a click with no penalties, no lost money. That flexibility alone sets Amazing Clubs apart from just about every other ice cream subscription.

Flexible subscriptions and transparent pricing

Amazing Clubs keeps things simple. You choose whether your subscription lasts for 3, 4, 6, or 12 months, and whether you want deliveries monthly or every other month. You can pay in full upfront or opt for a pay-as-you-go plan, and either way, the price per shipment stays the same: anywhere from $70.95/month (on a 12-month ice cream subscription) to $76.95/month (on a 3-month plan). Shipping is always included, so there are no surprise fees at checkout.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

Best-in-class customer service

Things happen - especially when you're shipping frozen food across the country. But if a pint melts in transit or you get a flavor you really dislike, Amazing Clubs has your back. Their satisfaction guarantee is second to none: whether it's a refund, a replacement, or even a bonus shipment from another type of club on their roster, they'll fix the issue with no fuss. It's the kind of customer care that keeps people coming back.

Perfect for gifting

This ice cream club is also a standout when it comes to gifts. You can schedule delivery dates up to 11 months in advance, add a printable or digital gift announcement, and trust that each shipment will come with a newsletter ("The Scoop!") filled with fun ice cream trivia, details about that month's featured creameries, and serving suggestions. It's thoughtful, well-packaged, and always well-received.

A reputation that speaks for itself

Amazing Clubs has been around for years and served millions of happy customers. Their ice cream club earns consistent praise for flavor quality, packaging, and overall experience. Out of nearly 500 ratings, this subscription alone has gotten an impressive average of 4.6 stars. Our favorite comment: "Pretty neat trick to deliver ice cream successfully to sunny Florida!" Although the Better Business Bureau has downgraded Amazing Clubs' rating to an "A-" since our last review, that's for failing to respond to a single complaint (and we'd cut this company a ton of slack for what is likely a one-time oversight).

Still our #1 pick

While some ice cream subscriptions go big on quirk and mystery, Amazing Clubs focuses on doing the basics extremely well - and their subscribers love them for it. With generous policies, smooth logistics, and consistently tasty treats, this is still our top-rated ice cream club by far. Get your favorite bowl and spoon ready, because this will be a subscription you keep coming back to.

On the McConnell's website

For anyone who reads ingredient labels and gets excited when a dessert is both delicious and responsibly sourced, McConnell's Pint of the Month Club is going to hit the spot. This Santa Barbara-based creamery has been perfecting its craft since 1949, working with the same California dairy co-ops and small farms for decades. The result? Ice cream that's as clean and creamy as it is flavorful - with a strong focus on organic ingredients, hormone-free milk, and no stabilizers or preservatives in sight.

Flavor-forward and ever-changing

Each delivery in the Pint of the Month Club features four curated pints, chosen from McConnell's full lineup of classics, seasonal flavors, and new limited releases. It's a fantastic mix: you might get a traditional scoop like Golden State Vanilla or a more inventive combo like Eureka Lemon & Marionberries, Brazilian Coffee, or Banana Cream with Toffee-ettes. You won't know exactly what's coming until it ships, but if you're curious, McConnell's Instagram is a great place to get a sneak peek at what's in development.

You can skip when needed

There's no customization available here, so if a particular flavor isn't your thing, you won't be able to swap it out. But, McConnell's ice cream club does let you skip a shipment anytime, whether it's due to travel plans or just a full freezer. That's a nice bit of flexibility, especially when compared to clubs that don't offer any control at all.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

A premium product at a fair price

McConnell's doesn't cut corners with quality, and yet the pricing is surprisingly reasonable for a subscription that includes shipping. You'll pay $195 for 3 months, $389 for 6 months, or $780 for a full year - breaking down to about $16.25 per pint. That's a solid deal for artisan ice cream made with local, organic ingredients and hand-packed for nationwide delivery. And, even more impressive to us was the fact that those are the same subscription prices as our last review (no jacked-up prices due to inflation, which we appreciate).

Gifting is easy

Want to send McConnell's as a gift? Just enter the recipient's email at checkout. McConnell's has improved its gift-giving processes since the last time we stopped by, giving you the ability to download a "membership card" to present to your lucky recipient. He or she will get monthly emails about the flavors on the way and the option to skip if needed.

Pay attention to shipping dates

The ice cream club at McConnell's has an order cut-off point of the 5th of the month. As long as you set up your subscription prior to that date, your frosty treats will ship that month. Miss that date, however, and you shouldn't expect your ice cream until the following month.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

Trusted by generations

McConnell's doesn't lay out a formal satisfaction guarantee, but they do make it clear that if anything goes wrong - from a shipping delay to a mix-up on their end - they'll make it right. That confidence is backed up by an "A+" rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau and a long-standing reputation for quality and care. While there aren't a ton of reviews specifically for the ice cream club, feedback for the brand overall is glowing, especially when it comes to the texture and flavor balance in the ice cream itself.

A standout club with local roots

If you like the idea of supporting a third-generation family business that puts real effort into every pint it ships, McConnell's Pint of the Month Club is a delicious way to do it. The rotating menu of thoughtful, inspired flavors and the consistent quality make this one of our favorite subscriptions. It's a win for ice cream lovers who appreciate craftsmanship, sustainability, and something a little different every month.

On the Salt & Straw website

Salt & Straw's ice cream club delivers small-batch ice cream with a big personality as a brand that blends artistry, activism, and straight-up deliciousness. This Portland-born company is anything but average, with wild flavor innovation, social impact built into its DNA, and generous portions in every box. While it's a bit pricier than some, it's one of the few subscriptions that truly feels like an experience, not just a product.

More than one flavor path - even dairy-free

One of the best things about this ice cream club is that you get to choose from several distinct pint collections:

  • Pints Club: A pre-paid subscription for 3, 6, or 12 months. It can ship as soon as you place your order, or you can select a future month for it to go out. Pick from Pints of the Month, Best Sellers Classics, or Best Sellers Dairy-Free for the flavors you want to send (or receive).
  • Seasonal Series: Limited-time flavors with seasonal, chef-inspired twists. Think Birthday Cakes & Blackberries, Goat Cheese Marionberry Habanero, or Oishii Strawberry Pretzel Salad.
  • Best Sellers Classics: Tried-and-true favorites in this collection include Sea Salt with Caramel Ribbons, Chocolate Gooey Brownie, Double Fold Vanilla, Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip, and Salted-Malted-Chocolate Chip Cookie Dough.
  • Best Sellers Dairy-Free: A rare find among ice cream clubs, this lineup is built around coconut milk, oat milk, and other plant-based bases - featuring options like Freckled Mint Chocolate Chip, Roasted Pineapple Coconut Sherbet, Marionberry Coconut Sherbet, Strawberry and Coconut Water Sherbet, and Peanut Butter Brittle Caramel Fudge.

Gives you a lot of control over your schedule

As you're setting up your ice cream subscription, you can decide if you want it for 3, 6, or 12 months (prepaid Pints Club), or if you'd like ice cream to arrive every month, every other month, or quarterly (the other three clubs). That flexibility makes Salt & Straw one of the few clubs that's a real win, especially for vegan households or folks with dairy sensitivities - without sacrificing flavor or fun.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

No substitutions, but skipping is easy

You can't pick individual pints or sub out a flavor (and you'll want to keep an eye out for allergens), but Salt & Straw's skip-a-month feature helps make up for that. Log in to your account dashboard and pause your delivery if something doesn't look appealing or you just need a break.

Competitive pricing with discounts of 10-20% when you subscribe

So, what will your Salt & Straw ice cream club cost? It depends on which club you choose and on what delivery schedule, but here's generally what you can expect. The prepaid Pints Club is $202 for three months (a 10% savings), $382.50 for 6 months (15% off), and $712 for a full year (20% discount). Considering that you get 5 pints of frozen deliciousness instead of the typical 4-pint subscriptions that rivals offer, that makes Salt & Straw pretty compelling. Or, if you'd rather go with one of the month-to-month plans, expect it to cost $67.50 per delivery - a 10% savings over the a la carte pricing here.

Shipping is extra, but not exorbitant

One thing to know about the ice cream club at Salt & Straw: the delivery fee is not included as part of the price. When we added a 12-month Pints Club gift subscription to our cart (after adding a gift note, of course), there was an extra $19 added to the cart. But, when you consider that we were sending 5 pints of ice cream per month to The Sunshine State and it only cost us a little less than $20 to get it there, we'd call that an excellent value. Just keep in mind that you won't see the shipping fees here until you get to the checkout.

Your ice cream arrives frozen, guaranteed

Salt & Straw's Melt-Free Guarantee is exactly what it sounds like: if your shipment isn't 100% frozen and in perfect condition when it arrives (even in Florida..), they'll replace it - no hoops to jump through. That level of service (combined with the company's overall stellar reputation) puts them firmly in the top tier for reliability.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

Mission-driven and community-focused

Beyond the pints, Salt & Straw walks the walk when it comes to social impact. They collaborate with nonprofit culinary incubators, source ingredients from local farmers and artisans, and use their flavors to spotlight (and their profits to support) causes they care about - like food insecurity, LGBTQ+ rights, and conservation.

A premium ice cream club that stands for more

If you want a gourmet subscription with real heart, Salt & Straw's ice cream club is hard to beat. It's not the most customizable option, but the flavors are bold, the service is reliable, and the mission behind the brand adds meaning to every spoonful. For households that are dairy-free, fans of unique flavors, or anyone who wants a bit more out of their monthly indulgence, this is a top pick.

On the Jeni's website

If you've ever dipped into a pint of Jeni's and thought "I want more of this in my life," the brand's ice cream club delivers that wish - literally. Known for its whimsical flavors and devotion to top-tier ingredients, Jeni's has earned a loyal following for good reason. Their club gives you a front-row seat to what's new in their freezer, including flavors you might be the first to try.

Classic Jeni's with a twist

Each shipment from Jeni's ice cream club includes four curated pints from across their lineup, which can include ice cream, sorbet, or frozen yogurt. Flavors rotate monthly and often include brand-new creations before they hit shelves nationwide. You won't get a preview of what's coming (and unfortunately, there's no historical list of past boxes to reference), but a scroll through their current offerings will give you a good sense of the vibe: playful, indulgent, and often surprising. Think Goose Tracks (a musical collaboration), Popcorn Brittle, Watermelon Taffy, and Texas Sheet Cake (that one's even dairy-free) and you'll be on the right track.

Affordable, especially for the quality

Jeni's keeps things surprisingly wallet-friendly for such a premium brand. Pricing still starts at $199 for a 3-month plan, $389 for 6 months, and $759 for a full year, with free shipping on every delivery. That breaks down to about $65 per box for four pints - well below the $75+ range we see from many competitors. Given the quality of the ice cream, that's a strong value. (And, you might even get a mystery gift: we had one in our order summary, so maybe you'll get lucky too).

Best Ice Cream Clubs

You can skip - but not customize

Customization is off the table here, meaning you can't sub out flavors. But Jeni's gives you a heads-up email before each shipment goes out, so if you're not excited about that month's lineup - or if you'll be out of town - you can contact customer service to skip the box and have it pushed to the next month. That's more flexibility than you'll get from several other clubs on our list.

Gifting is simple and secure

Sending Jeni's ice cream club as a gift is easy. You'll need the recipient's email to check out (which they promise is only used for shipping updates), and there's an option to add a personal note. This is a great pick for foodies, families, or anyone who appreciates getting something sweet and unexpected in the mail. Plus, you can add an ice cream scoop or "sundae spades" to your order if you'd like to really make it a complete gift for your lucky recipient.

Trusted brand, happy fans

There aren't many public reviews specifically for the ice cream club itself, but Jeni's overall reputation speaks volumes. The company is "A+" rated by the Better Business Bureau, and their pints are already a staple in upscale grocery stores nationwide. Plus, you can trust that if something ever arrives melted or damaged, Jeni's will send a replacement at no cost.

A fun, flavorful subscription you can count on

Jeni's ice cream club doesn't try to reinvent the wheel - it just spins it with style. The mix of frozen treats is always creative, the pricing is refreshingly fair, and the brand's reputation for quality and service means you can subscribe with confidence. We'd love to see some flavor previews or descriptions of previous combos shipped out, but even without that, Jeni's earns high marks for its club's blend of value, flavor, and fun.

On the Sisters of Anarchy website

If farm-to-cone sounds like your kind of vibe, Sisters of Anarchy brings it with flavor, attitude, and a healthy dose of Vermont-grown ingredients. Run by a multi-generational family team, this women-owned business is serious about making small-batch ice cream from scratch - right down to growing many of the fruits and mix-ins on their own farm. This isn't your average pint-of-the-month club, and that's exactly the point.

Freedom to choose - or be surprised

Whether you want total control or you're up for an ice cream adventure, this club lets you take your pick. You can order 4- or 6-pint boxes, sent monthly, every other month, or seasonally, and either choose from curated flavor packs (like "Taste of Vermont" and "Chocoholics"), build your own, or let the Sisters surprise you. If you've got allergies or preferences, you can even leave a note on your order. That level of flexibility is rare in the ice cream club world, and it's a major plus here.

Creative combinations you won't find elsewhere

Sisters of Anarchy isn't afraid to get weird in the best way. Their flavors lean bold and unique - like "Overtime Raspberry Coffee" (which is exactly what it sounds like) or "3.14159 Lemon Raspberry Pie", a vanilla ice cream base with lemon zest and pie chunks (both lemon and raspberry). Signature favorites include Chocolate Anarchy, Crystal Blue Persuasion, and even the Plain Jane vanilla classic. Whatever the Sisters add to the lineup (which they do regularly), expect something that's practically guaranteed to be several steps away from the basic vanilla you'd find at the grocery store.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

Pricing takes some clicking

What you'll pay for your ice cream club at Sisters of Anarchy depends on how you set things up - whether you go monthly or seasonal, pick four or six pints, or subscribe for a full year. Pricing isn't front-and-center on the site, so you'll need to click on a subscription and add it to your cart to see totals. In our test, we saw prices ranging from about $48 to $70 per shipment, with a hefty $26 in shipping per delivery added at checkout. There's also a small discount (about 5%) for signing up for a full year. All told, that's still pretty comparable with other ice cream clubs on our list ($74 for 4 pints delivered to your doorstep), but you might feel a little chagrined if you see the price initially and then get surprised by the per-shipment delivery fee added at checkout.

Skip the politics or lean into them

This ice cream company wears its heart on its sleeve. Sisters of Anarchy is vocal about their support for causes like social justice, environmental sustainability, and women's leadership. That won't be for everyone - but for many customers, it's a big part of the appeal. If you're into businesses that stand for more than just great products, this club aligns with those values in a meaningful way.

Reliable reputation with rave reviews

Sisters of Anarchy doesn't have thousands of ice cream club reviews floating around, but what's out there is almost entirely positive. Fans love the bold flavors, the farm-fresh ingredients, and the flexibility to tailor their orders. The company gets high marks for customer service too, and their passion for ice cream is clear in everything they do.

An ice cream club with real personality

Between the creative flavors, flexible delivery options, and strong values, Sisters of Anarchy's ice cream club has a lot going for it. It's one of the few subscriptions that lets you hand-pick your pints (or not), and the farm-sourced ingredients make a real difference in taste. We recommend this club for anyone who wants their monthly treats with a sweet side of rebellion.

On the Flying Noodle website

Flying Noodle has been delivering gourmet gifts since 1995, and their Ice Cream of the Month Club is one of the "coolest" options in their lineup. From the outside, this subscription might seem a little mysterious - there's not a ton of detail on their website - but a quick call to the company filled in all the gaps. With rotating vendors, classic-yet-creative flavors, and solid customer service, Flying Noodle's ice cream club is a fun, flexible gift that won't completely melt your budget.

Variety you can taste

Flying Noodle's ice cream club promises four pints of small-batch gelato or ice cream each month - chosen for their premium ingredients and standout flavor. Past shipments have featured crowd-pleasers like S'mores, Mint Oreo, Sea Salt Caramel Brownie, and Frosted Sugar Cookie, plus classics like Rocky Road and Butter Pecan. Because Flying Noodle works with different vendors across the country, you're likely to discover local gems and boutique ice cream makers you can't find in stores.

Pricing that includes shipping

Flying Noodle's ice cream subscription is available in 3-month, 6-month, 12-month, or seasonal formats (one shipment every three months). Prices range from $70.95 to $76.95 per shipment, depending on the length of your subscription - and that includes shipping. All memberships are prepaid, but if you prefer a month-to-month arrangement, Flying Noodle's team may be able to work something out over the phone.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

You'll know what's coming (and can skip it if needed)

One thing we really appreciate about this club is how easy it is to manage your deliveries. Around the 10th of each month, Flying Noodle sends out a preview email with the upcoming selections. If something doesn't suit your taste (or if you're going to be out of town), you can skip that shipment either by logging into your account or giving them a call. Your subscription will simply be extended by a month to make up for it.

A gift-worthy experience

Flying Noodle makes gift-giving easy. You can send a gift announcement via email or regular mail, or print one yourself for last-minute giving. Want the notification to arrive on a specific date? No problem - just schedule it during checkout. Every shipment also comes with "Scoops," a fun newsletter that features flavor descriptions, ice cream facts, and serving suggestions. And, everything we said about previewing upcoming deliveries and skipping a month if needed? That applies to gift recipients too.

Customer satisfaction comes first

Flying Noodle stands behind their ice cream club with a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If anything goes wrong with your delivery - or you're just not happy - reach out to their friendly customer service team and they'll do what it takes to make it right. If the "A+" from the Better Business Bureau is any indication, Flying Noodle is a company you can trust.

A hidden gem among ice cream clubs

Flying Noodle's Ice Cream of the Month Club might not have the flashiest website, but don't let that deter you. Behind the scenes is a well-run operation with a dedication to high-quality frozen treats, excellent service, and a fun, flexible setup that makes it perfect for gifting (or treating yourself). With its rotating roster of ice cream makers and crowd-pleasing flavor variety, this club earns a solid score from us.

On the eCreamery website

When you're craving classic ice cream flavors with a gourmet twist - and you want them delivered on schedule every month - eCreamery hits a pretty sweet spot. With four full pints of hand-packed goodness in every shipment and consistently rich, creamy textures, this subscription brings solid value and a crowd-pleasing lineup of flavors. It's not the most flexible club around, but eCreamery has come a long way in terms of reliability and customer satisfaction. Let's see what earned this ice cream club a bump this time around.

Simple, straightforward, and consistent

eCreamery's ice cream subscription doesn't make you jump through hoops. Once you sign up and pay, you'll get four pints of small-batch, custom-churned ice cream delivered each month - no extra fees, no surprise renewals. The subscription is fully prepaid, with options for 3, 6, or 12 months. And unlike some clubs that delay your first shipment for weeks, your first box goes out shortly after purchase and then renews monthly around the same time each cycle. That consistency earns eCreamery some major points.

Flavor variety with a side of mystery

Each box comes with four flavors selected by eCreamery's team, typically a mix of classics (like Mint Cookie Crunch or Butter Brickle) and seasonal one-offs. The company rotates its flavors often, so you're unlikely to get repeats. That said, you don't get to preview what's coming or make any selections yourself. If you've got dietary restrictions or religious considerations (like avoiding certain ingredients), that could be a dealbreaker - something echoed in a few customer reviews. One person suggested a simple questionnaire could solve this issue, and we agree: just a bit of customization would make this ice cream club even better.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

Premium price, but at least it includes shipping

eCreamery isn't cheap. You'll pay $199.99 for 3 months, $399.99 for 6, or $799.99 for a full year, all upfront. That breaks down to roughly $16.67 per pint: not outrageous for small-batch ice cream with shipping included, but still a splurge. Fortunately, subscriber feedback indicates that you definitely get what you pay for. eCreamery customers rave about the texture and flavor of the ice cream, describing it as "absolutely delicious" and "something to look forward to every month."

Customer service: solid with a few caveats

Overall, eCreamery earns an "A+" from the Better Business Bureau and maintains a 4.74-star average across hundreds of reviews. If something goes wrong on their end (like a melted shipment or incorrect order), they're quick to fix it with a refund or replacement. But if the issue is user error - say, you entered the wrong address - you'll probably just get a discount code for your next order. That's fair, but worth knowing ahead of time.

Not flashy, but reliable

eCreamery's ice cream club isn't as flashy or unpredictable as some other subscriptions - but that's also kind of the appeal. You know what you're getting: great-tasting ice cream, delivered when promised, with flavors that feel carefully curated even if they aren't handpicked by you. If you can live without that kind of customization, this subscription could easily become your monthly highlight.

On the High Point Creamery website

Small-batch, high-quality, and packed with flavor: that's what you can expect from High Point Creamery, a Colorado-based ice cream maker founded by a husband-and-wife team in 2014. With just a few scoop shops in Denver, they've built a loyal following of locals - and their ice cream club lets you share in the goodness no matter where you live (as long as it's in the lower 48 United States, that is...).

Three club options for different appetites

High Point offers three different subscription formats to suit your level of commitment:

  • Short & Sweet: $199 for three consecutive months, with four pints in each box
  • Seasonal: $259 for four pints delivered once every three months, combining two seasonal and two signature flavors
  • Fanatic: $749 for monthly four-pint deliveries over a full year, drawing from both flavor collections

That works out to roughly $65 to $67 per shipment (same as the last time we visited High Point Creamery, so yay for no-inflation-pricing here), which is on the affordable side of premium ice cream subscriptions. Shipping is always included.

Flavor lineup: Signature + Seasonal

High Point Creamery's 10 signature flavors offer a fun mix of the classic and the creative. Some of the flavors on that list include Basil with Blackberry Swirl, Cookies (3 Ways) & Cream, and Earl Grey & Shortbread. These are available year-round and form the backbone of most club shipments. Seasonal flavors keep things interesting, and although High Point doesn't feature a detailed flavor calendar, past releases (that we spotted on High Point Creamery's social media channels, hint hint if you want a peek too) have included winners like Spicy Brownies, Watermelon TajĂn Sorbet, Pomegranate Lime Sorbet, Carrot & Candied Walnut, and Mango Coconut Lassi.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

No customizations

Unfortunately, the subscription info on High Point Creamery's site is pretty minimal. It's not clear if you can skip a month, preview upcoming flavors, or get allergy-friendly options. You also won't find much guidance if you're sending this as a gift - beyond a generic note box at checkout. A few more details would go a long way here. When we reached out, we got a quick response from High Point Creamery's customer service team; they confirmed that there's no way to swap out any flavors. And, while you do get a shipment preview email and can move your delivery by a day or two, they don't have any way to skip a delivery altogether. That's a downside compared with many rival ice cream clubs, if we're being honest.

Fans love the ice cream, full stop

There's no question that High Point Creamery delivers on taste. Scroll through their social media or reviews and you'll see a steady stream of five-star praise: people rave about the originality of the flavors, the creaminess of the texture, and the customer service at their scoop shops. That bodes well for the subscription, even if the logistics are still a little vague.

A delicious choice - just needs more flexibility and upfront info

We'd love to see High Point Creamery flesh out the structure of their club - adding options to skip shipments, preview flavors, or gift with more polish would really elevate this subscription. Still, if your priority is simply getting imaginative, small-batch ice cream from a well-loved local maker, this club delivers the goods. It's not the most well-rounded ice cream club on our list, but it's got heart (and flavor) in spades.

On the Goldbelly website

If you've ever wished you could sample ice cream from the country's most buzz-worthy creameries without leaving your house, Goldbelly's ice cream club might catch your eye. And on paper, it sounds kind of dreamy: pints of ice cream or gelato (or even ice cream sandwiches) from legendary spots like Nancy's Fancy, packed in dry ice and delivered to your doorstep every month. But once you dig into the details (and the price tag), the excitement may start to melt away.

Big names, small details

Every box you get from Goldbelly's club includes either 5-6 pints of ice cream or up to two dozen ice cream sandwiches. The brands vary each month and are selected from Goldbelly's curated roster of cult-favorite creameries. What you don't get is any advance notice of what's coming, and there's no way to customize your subscription based on dietary restrictions or personal preferences. That's a big downside, compared with other ice cream clubs we evaluated, and especially when Goldbelly used to at least tell you some of the makers and flavors that were included in previous months' deliveries. We wish they would bring that back.

More expensive than most

So, what will you pay for your monthly mystery box? Goldbelly charges $99.95 per delivery. That's fairly expensive but not completely out of range if you happen to get 6 pints of ice cream, but can you imagine paying almost $100 for just six ice cream sandwiches (the minimum amount Goldbelly says could be in your box)? For what it's worth, you pay the same whether you choose a monthly recurring subscription or you prepay for 3, 6, or 12 months - but at least the shipping is always included in the price.

Best Ice Cream Clubs

Slow start, long wait

One of the most frustrating parts of this subscription is how long it takes to get going. If you sign up right after the 25th of the month - say, June 26th - you're looking at a delivery that won't arrive until mid-to-late August. That's nearly eight weeks of waiting for ice cream you've already paid for. And while Goldbelly says you'll be receiving premium frozen treats, you won't know which ones until they show up at your door.

A slightly better track record - on paper

Goldbelly now holds an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau, an improvement from the "B" it previously carried. That's a step in the right direction. But when you dig into customer reviews across the company (not just the ice cream club), there are still plenty of complaints about melted deliveries, long delays, and inconsistent service. To their credit, Goldbelly's support team usually replies quickly, but their response often boils down to "not really our fault," especially when weather or shipping issues are involved.

A luxury splurge that might not be worth the spend

In the end, Goldbelly's ice cream club has the name recognition and premium branding to make it sound like a top-tier experience. But the lack of transparency on flavors and makers, delayed start dates, and higher-than-average price point make it hard to recommend - especially when there are other clubs out there offering more info upfront (and with lots of successful deliveries to satisfied customers). Goldbelly still lands at the bottom of our list.

Ice cream clubs are pretty much what they sound like: curated boxes of premium frozen treats, delivered right to your door on a monthly (or sometimes quarterly) basis. Each shipment is a delicious surprise - usually featuring small-batch pints in classic and seasonal flavors, or even gourmet collaborations that go way beyond your standard chocolate and vanilla. Think brown sugar bourbon swirl, balsamic fig, lavender honeycomb, or cookie dough made with actual browned butter and flaky sea salt. Yeah, we're drooling too.

What makes ice cream subscriptions so much fun is that they turn a casual treat into a full-on event. You don't just eat a scoop - you unwrap a box of joy, discover a new brand or flavor profile, and feel a little spoiled by the fact that someone packed a cooler of hand-churned decadence just for you.

And these days, your options are as diverse as the dessert trucks at a food festival. Some subscriptions stick with the classics, while others go wild with inventive (and sometimes polarizing) flavors. You'll find brands that highlight women-owned creameries, farm-to-table producers, or dairy-free innovators who are turning coconut milk and cashew cream into something magical. Whether you're a flavor thrill-seeker or a die-hard vanilla devotee, there's an ice cream club with your name on it.

Best of all, most subscriptions are super flexible. You can gift one to a friend, skip a month if your freezer's full, or stock up ahead of summer parties. They make killer birthday gifts, breakup pick-me-ups, or self-care splurges - because honestly, who doesn't need a little frozen comfort now and then?

Still, not all ice cream subscriptions are created equal. Some come with nationwide shipping and perfect packaging; others might arrive a little less frozen than you'd hoped. Some brands rotate through seasonal offerings, while others stick to a set menu. And pricing? It ranges from "surprisingly affordable" to "this better come with gold leaf and a custom spoon." So before you sign up for a year's worth of frosty goodness, here are a few things to look for when comparing clubs:

Whether you're treating yourself or surprising someone else, ice cream subscriptions are a joyful way to indulge. So grab your spoon (and maybe a backup one for sharing), because the experts here at Top Consumer Reviews have done the oh-so-tasty work of rating today's most popular ice cream clubs - so that you can bring the magic of the creamery straight to your front porch.

Ice Cream Club FAQ

What is an ice cream club subscription?
An ice cream club subscription is a membership service that delivers a curated selection of ice creams to your doorstep on a regular basis. It allows you to explore a variety of flavors and brands without the need to shop for ice cream yourself.
How often do ice cream club subscriptions typically deliver?
The frequency of deliveries varies among different ice cream clubs. Some may deliver monthly, while others may have bi-monthly or quarterly deliveries. It ultimately depends on the specific club and the subscription plan you choose.
Can I customize my selections in an ice cream club?
Yes, some ice cream clubs offer customization options. They allow you to personalize your ice cream selection based on your preferences, dietary needs, or flavor exclusions. Just be aware that sometimes this "customization" is really just letting you know in advance what flavors are coming and giving you the option to skip that month's delivery.
Do ice cream clubs offer unique or limited-edition flavors?
Yes, many ice cream clubs feature novel and/or seasonal flavors as part of their offerings. These flavors are often crafted by talented ice cream artisans, providing subscribers with exclusive access to special creations that may not be available in traditional retail stores or even the company's own scoop shops!
Are there ice cream clubs that cater to specific dietary restrictions?
Maybe, but they're not so easy to find. Obviously, the hardest allergy or sensitivity to avoid with an ice cream club is... dairy! But if your particular allergens are nuts or other ingredients often found in ice cream, you'll probably need to do a little extra research before signing up for any specific club. You can always reach out to the club's customer service team too.
Can I gift an ice cream club subscription to someone?
Absolutely! Ice cream club subscriptions make fantastic gifts. You can surprise a friend, family member, or loved one with a membership and treat them to a delightful assortment of ice creams. It's a thoughtful and unique present that brings joy and indulgence. Look for any extras that the club offers, like personalized gift cards or scheduling an announcement to be emailed on the date of your choice, to make your gift-giving extra-special.
Won't my ice cream melt?
Ice cream clubs take special care in packaging their products to maintain freshness during transit. They generally use insulated containers and dry ice to keep the ice cream frozen throughout the delivery process. This ensures that the ice cream arrives in excellent condition and is ready to be enjoyed right away or popped in your freezer for later.
Can I pause or cancel my ice cream club subscription?
Most ice cream clubs provide flexibility in managing your subscription. You can usually pause or skip deliveries for a certain period if you're going on vacation or need a break. Canceling the subscription is typically straightforward and can be done online or by contacting customer support, and refunds will usually be prorated for any upcoming months that won't be delivered.
