The only reviews we found during our research were from third-party vendors who also sold packages by Jerky Dynasty. On one of these sites, Jerky Dynasty had a solid 4.6 stars out of 5. All we could find in our research was that the subscription boxes feature different jerky makers every month. Shipping costs are relative to the number of packages you buy

You do need to pay for shipping at Jerky Snob. During our checkout, we were quoted $14.25 for shipping to our area for a 2-pack subscription with a 3-month prepay. The shipping is a one-time fee that covers your entire subscription period. So, if you buy a longer prepay, the shipping will go up. For example, a 2-pack subscription for a 12-month prepay had a shipping cost of $57. However, you won't pay for shipping on subsequent deliveries.

Competitive refunds for unused jerky

Jerky Snob does not allow returns for food items, but if there is something wrong with your order, the company's policy states that it will refund you for the damaged or problematic items. This means that if you have 4 bags of jerky and only 1 is damaged, you will receive a refund for the total value of that 1 bag (not your entire order). Further, if you cancel your subscription after the shipment has been sent out, you can't receive a refund for your subscription fee. But you will be refunded for any shipments you didn't use (if you cancel on month 2 of a 12-month subscription, you'll get 10 months of your money back).

High praise for customer service

On these sites, Jerky Snob held an average rating of 4.6 stars out of 5, with praise for how easy Jerky Snob is to purchase as a gift and the incredible variety of flavors. Jerky fans also complimented the customer service team for immediately resolving and responding to problems when they arose.

The monthly subscription costs between $16 (for 2 bags) to $59 (for 8 bags) per month. As a bonus, JerkyGent was offering a promotion at the time of our review that gave us $10 off our first box order. If you decide you want to give JerkyGent as a gift, the prices range from $40 (plus shipping) for a prepayment of 1 month for four packs and a greeting card to $420 (free shipping) for 12 months for the same size package.

Free shipping for some boxes and on $75+

The shipping ranges between $4.59 and $5.95 depending on the box that you choose. When we picked the prepaid one-month subscription it was lower-cost ($4.59). However, for the $16 2-pack monthly subscription, the cost of shipping was $5.95, and that cost would recur each month. So, keep in mind that you may want to spend a little extra on a box if you're worried about shipping costs. The threshold for free shipping (outside the prepaid boxes) is $75.

Refund policy, but not for food items

JerkyGent offers a 30-day return policy. For items to be eligible for return, you'll need to keep them in the same condition as when you received them (don't crack open all your jerky at once). You will also need your receipt for proof of purchase. However, a later part of the refund policy specifically states that food items are not eligible for a refund. If you have issues with those items, JerkyGent just recommends you "get in touch.”

Like a few other sites in our review, there wasn't much in the way of reviews online for JerkyGent. The company currently doesn't have a page with the Better Business Bureau, and our research didn't turn up anything on third-party review sites like Sitejabber or Trustpilot. We only found one site that showed any reviews, and there were only a handful in total, but the average was about 4.6 stars. Each review was for a different flavor of jerky. Mountain America's Jerky of the Month Club includes four packs in each delivery, and the package is a prepaid plan for 3 months. You can extend your subscription at any time. Each bag of jerky comes with 3.25 oz of meat with no preservatives. The months are pre-set, so you can see upcoming flavors. At the time of our review, month one included Beef Original, Beef Garlic Pepper, Elk Original, and Buffalo Teriyaki. For month two, they lined up Beef Pepper, Beef Teriyaki, Venison, and Buffalo Spicy. Finally, for month three Mountain America Jerky offered Beef Spicy, Turkey Original, Elk Teriyaki, and Buffalo Original.

Pricing is $181.23 per membership

Because there's only one club at this vendor, the pricing is simple. The 3-month prepaid plan is $181.23, which makes the total price per month $60.41. If you want to add a gift box for your club membership, you can add extra packaging for $5. According to Mountain America Jerky's listing page, there is also a pay-by-month option, but you have to contact the customer service email to get pricing on it. We reached out to their service team to see if we could get a price quote, and never heard back.

Shipping costs are rolled into the price

While shipping isn't free at Mountain America Jerky, the fee is rolled into the cost of the subscription box. So, you won't see any shipping added when you check out. The listing page says that the price of your box includes a one-time shipping charge of $5.95 which is rolled into your total.

Refunds offered within 30 days

According to Mountain America Jerky's policies, you can return your jerky within 30 days if you have any problems with the purchase. While Jerky has a great list of flavors (over 100), we're a little concerned about the "C+” rating and lack of online reviews on third-party sites. The flavors at Divine Bovine Jerky aren't the most exciting. The company only offers four total flavors. At the time of our review, one of those flavors was completely sold out (Original Beef Jerky), so the packages all include different varieties of Tangy Teriyaki, Hot & Tangy Teriyaki, and Spicy Jalapeño. Whether you choose 4, 6, or 8 packages, these are the only flavors you can expect.
