ZipRecruiter was once a really effective, well-liked job search site, but they've gone downhill. You can sign up for their service for free, but we aren't confident that all the job listings are accurate or that everyone who is trying to seek out candidates is doing it for honest reasons. To avoid getting scammed or wasting time, we would suggest verifying job postings with another site before submitting an application. ZipRecruiter has an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau and some legitimate job postings, so they've earned an average rating from us, but it's best to be cautious when using this service.
Snagajob is a free tool for people looking for positions that pay hourly. Their on-site tools even let you calculate how much you will make over the weeks or months based on the hourly wage listed on a particular job posting. Searching for jobs and applying is really easy since Snagajob has a clean, sleek interface. Unfortunately, people complain that the jobs listed are often outdated and it feels like Snagajob is primarily out to collect users' information. Until Snagajob's users report higher success rates with landing new roles and employers recommend the service, we aren't willing to give this job search site a high rating.
CareerBuilder initially seems like a decent job search site with basic tools to help you find a job you're fit for. Nexxt aims to help employers and recruiters find top-tier candidates by highlighting resumes and scouring new job posts that match the search criteria of job hunters. Unfortunately, their efforts don't seem to be resulting in high satisfaction from employers or job seekers. They have a pattern of complaints from people who have their information given away to third-parties and get their inboxes full of spam. There aren't a lot of great success stories from Nexxt in recent years, so this isn't somewhere we'd recommend spending your time when you're looking for a new job.
Job has taken a futuristic approach of using AI to connect talent to employers. When users upload resumes, the platform tries to help companies find the employees they're looking for with a dating site-like approach. For job seekers, you need to make an account and it takes a long time for it to get verified. Without an account you can't see what positions are open, so we imagine that Job loses a lot of users right off the bat.
