Lowe's stands as the ultimate haven for home improvement enthusiasts, with a legacy dating back many decades. With a sprawling selection ranging from power tools to decor, Lowe's caters to both seasoned DIYers and novices alike, providing unparalleled convenience and expertise.

Over 50,000 light fixtures on offer

Lowe's has over 50,000 light fixtures to choose from. One look at any given category and you're likely to find anywhere from 5,000-15,000 choices. On the low end of the price scale, you might see fixtures like a utilitarian outdoor light for $9.82, Eglo's 3-Light Transitional Pendant Light for $18.01, and traditional vanity lights for $14.27. For true bargain-hunters (or maybe those who are flipping houses on a tight budget), Lowe's is an excellent place to buy light fixtures. The highest-end light fixtures at Lowe's tend to be chandeliers made by Eurofase and Crystorama. There's nothing over $13,000, but we were still surprised to see such luxury-type fixtures at this home improvement superstore.

Useful filters and in-store pickup options

Shopping for what you need at Lowe's is easy-breezy, as you might already be aware. Looking for options you can buy online and pick up right away? No problem, just make sure that your preferred brick-and-mortar location is featured at the top of the site (it'll detect where you're browsing from and fill in the store it thinks is the best match). If not, just click on it to set it to the Lowe's you'd rather visit. And, with plenty of filters to narrow down the light fixtures by your preferred use, color, price range, and more, you won't get stuck browsing tens of thousands of products to find your ideal lighting.

Best Light Fixture Stores

Take advantage of customer reviews on individual light fixtures

One of the best ways to find a great fixture is by using the customer reviews. Lowe's has millions of customers every year, so why not benefit from their experience with the items you're considering? For example, one of the most reviewed light fixtures we found was the Fallsbrook 5-Light Brushed Nickel Traditional Dry Rated Chandelier by Product Source, priced at $56.97. At the time of our visit, 537 people had left ratings for this basic chandelier, averaging 4.6 out of 5 stars. And, there's no holding back here: their shoppers tell you their honest opinion (sometimes with photos to back them up). That's a plus over some retailers we reviewed that had little to no feedback on the light fixtures in their inventory.

Installation available for a fee

And, one final advantage for going with Lowe's: the ability to get professional installation on your light fixtures. If this is a must-have for your purchase, be sure to scroll down on the main Lighting page to where it says, "We can install your lighting and ceiling fans." Click on the "Shop Now" link and it'll take you to all of the options that have that perk. Once you've chosen the fixture(s?) you need, be sure to add the installation option during the checkout process. Just don't flinch when you realize you may be paying more for the install than for the fixture itself (the most popular lighted ceiling fan on Lowe's install-available list was only $59.98, but the installation fee was $195 per fan).

90-day returns, free shipping on $45+

Maybe we're not done telling you about the perks Lowe's offers after all. We appreciate the 90-day return policy, especially when some rivals only give you 30 days and then charge a restocking fee to boot. You'll also get free delivery on most orders of $45 and up, assuming you don't go for free in-store pickup of your light fixtures.

Best Light Fixture Stores

"A+" from the BBB

Reputation is no issue for Lowe's. It won't shock anyone to learn that the Better Business Bureau gives this home improvement megastore an "A+" rating and accreditation. True, some shoppers have had issues with particular store employees, but there's nothing we find troublesome or that should keep you from shopping at Lowe's for light fixtures (and anything else you might need for your next home project).

One of your best options for light fixtures

We give Lowe's one of our highest rankings among stores offering light fixtures. You've got more than enough styles and price points to choose from, many of which come with the option to pay for installation if you need it. The return window is generous, many fixtures have tons of reviews, and it's easy to click "add to cart" on any other supplies you might need for a one-stop-shop experience. Lowe's is a winner.

Where Can You Find the Best Light Fixtures Online?

Light fixtures play a crucial role in interior design, providing both illumination and aesthetic appeal to a space. From minimalist designs to ornate chandeliers, light fixtures come in various styles to suit different needs and decor schemes. And in recent years shopping for light fixtures online has surged in popularity.

In today's world the best selection of light fixtures is just a few clicks away. Even if you need some help with the installation, many of today's most popular online retailers can connect you with vetted professionals near you. You've literally got nothing to lose.

Let's take a closer look at some of the most common light fixture types, to help you know what you're shopping for. First up are chandeliers, elaborate ceiling-mounted fixtures featuring multiple arms with lights. Chandeliers come in various sizes and designs, from classic crystal to modern metal and glass compositions. They often serve as statement pieces in dining rooms, foyers, or living spaces.

Next we've got pendant lights. These light fixtures hang from the ceiling by a cord, chain, or rod, typically over kitchen islands, dining tables, or in hallways. They come in a wide range of styles, including sleek and minimalist designs, vintage-inspired fixtures, and geometric shapes.

If you've got limited space or a low ceiling, you'll likely need to consider flush mount and semi-flush mount light fixtures. Flush mount lights sit snug against the ceiling, while semi-flush mount lights hang slightly lower, providing a bit more visual interest.

Wall sconces are mounted to walls and provide ambient or accent lighting. They come in various styles, including traditional, contemporary, and industrial, and can be used to enhance the ambiance of bedrooms, hallways, or outdoor spaces.

And finally, there's track lighting: a linear track with adjustable fixtures that can be moved and angled to direct light where needed. This versatile option is commonly used in kitchens, galleries, or retail spaces, allowing for customizable illumination.

So, now that you have a better idea of what light fixtures you'll need, it's time to get shopping. To help you decide where to start the process of finding the perfect light fixtures, keep the following criteria in mind:

Whether you're looking for a grand chandelier to make a statement or minimalist pendant lights to illuminate a space in a more modern way, there's a perfect fixture out there to enhance your home's ambiance and aesthetics. Light Fixture Store FAQ

What is a light fixture?
A light fixture is an electric device used to illuminate a room. They can be used to beautify a space and add to the aesthetic. Buying a nice light fixture is like buying a piece of furniture because they can make such a statement in a room. Some light fixtures are basic and nearly unnoticeable, such as can lights, while other light fixtures are large, hang from the ceiling, contain ornate details, and use multiple light bulbs.
How do I install my light fixture?
Most light fixtures are going to differ in the way they are installed in the ceiling or wall. You'll usually have to assemble the light fixture before you can even begin the installation process. Every light fixture comes with step-by-step details for assembly as well as an inventory of all the parts included and what they are for. Follow the instructions for assembly and installation. If you need additional help, you could look up a video online or hire an electrician.
How much does a new light fixture cost?
The price of a light fixture depends on the brand, materials, size, weight, and style. If you're going for something simple and timeless, you could stay in the $100 price range. However, for a modern, stylish light fixture you could easily spend $500 or more. Some retailers offer crystal or diamond chandeliers that cost upwards of $50,000. There are thousands of light fixtures to choose from in all different price ranges. Whatever you choose, keep in mind that the light fixture will be a staple part of your home that you might have forever. Make sure you select something you love, even if it is priced slightly higher than you planned for!
What styles of light fixtures are there?
Whether the style of your space is farmhouse, modern, chic, industrial, or bohemia, there are light fixtures you can buy online to match. There are eight main categories of light fixtures that you might choose from depending on the design of your walls and ceilings. They include architectural, recessed (like can lights), track, undercabinet, pendants, chandeliers, ceiling, and wall sconces. Selecting which of these designs will work best for your space is one of the first steps when you shop for light fixtures online.
What light bulbs are needed for my light fixture?
Some light fixtures will come with the bulbs they need, so you won't have to make a trip to the store or spend extra money on them. However, most light fixtures have a particular size of bulb they need, but you can choose the temperature of bulb you prefer. The primary colors are soft white, bright white/cool white, and daylight. Depending on if you like a room to have more yellow or white lighting, you can select the type of light bulb that creates the ambiance you like best.
Is it possible to return a light fixture?
Yes, it is possible to return a light fixture. Maybe it doesn't match your decor like you hoped or the size is different than you'd imagined. Either way, most light fixture retailers will offer anywhere between a 30- and 90-day return policy for unused items. You'll usually be able to send it back for a full refund or a store credit so you can exchange it for a new light fixture.
Do I need to reinforce my ceiling if I buy a heavy light fixture?
Some of the most stunning light fixtures end up being big and heavy. To stay on the safe side, it is best to buy a brace to support the weight. The drywall of plaster on a ceiling is not meant to support heavy objects, so to avoid any issues you can purchase a brace for around $20 at your local hardware store. There are plenty of online videos to walk you through the installation process safely.
What rooms of the house are best for fancy light fixtures?
If you have the money and the eye for it, adding a beautiful light fixture to all your rooms will stun everyone who walks through your doors. However, it is not necessary to have unique lighting in every room. Some of the main areas where fancy light fixtures can make a big difference are your entryway, dining room, living room, home office, and kitchen. These are high-traffic areas where the light fixtures will both be used and enjoyed often.
