Alpha Score has been in business since 2003. In that time, they have fine-tuned their LSAT test prep materials to help students achieve high scores. They have a straightforward, professional website that clearly lets students know what their courses contain, the pricing, and how long they will have access to the resources.
Course thoroughly outlined
Alpha Score's course curriculum is thoroughly outlined on the website, so you'll know exactly what you're getting when you sign up. We are so impressed with Alpha Score that they earn a high rating among LSAT test prep sites.
2 LSAT test prep courses
Alpha Score may be one of the most affordable options for students studying for the LSAT while providing the same top-notch level of resources available on more expensive competitor sites. Their two courses include:
Customize your course
If there is just one specific set of content in these courses where you feel you need extra assistance, Alpha Score allows you to purchase it separately, rather than paying for the whole course. For example, if a student just wants logical reasoning lessons, they can enroll in all of these for just $189. The same goes for LSAT games and reading comprehension. Perhaps not everyone needs a thorough review of material, so Alpha Score really makes their plans flexible.
Free 1 month trial
Another thing we like is the free trial course that Alpha Score offers students. This is a generous one-month subscription to 3 video lessons and tutorials, an official LSAT exam, and 125 LSAT practice questions. This should be enough course content to help a student decide if they want to buy one of the full courses or not. We also like that they have a month of access to really get a feel for things and not feel rushed in making their buying decision.
Lack of student feedback
We wish there was more feedback from students on how effective their study tools are. There are a handful of video testimonials that can be found on their website, which are reassuring to watch, but of course don't display any critical feedback like an unfiltered, third-party review site would. Alpha Score also does not have a Better Business Bureau profile for us to go off of, so that is why they have earned a high rating from us, but not our very highest.
The main reasons we are impressed with Alpha Score is because we like their prices and pricing structure. We feel that students are able to decide exactly what they want help with and get just that. They are more affordable than most other LSAT test prep services, which is important for many people trying to get the help they need without breaking the bank. Their course content includes everything a student needs for success, so we encourage students to really consider Alpha Score to take care of their LSAT studying needs.
The Law School Admission Test (LSAT) is one of the most important tests for students hoping to have a career as a lawyer. The test has existed in some form since 1948 as a way for law schools to assess their candidate's academic status.
Not only is it a pain to retake the LSAT if you don't get a satisfactory score, but it will end up costing about $200 per time, not including the price of sending scores to different law schools. The costs and time add up - it makes sense to study hard and just do well the first time around.
The LSAT test is an integral part of law school admissions processes in the United States, Canada, and Australia. It's administered 7 different times throughout the year. The test is 3 hours and 30 minutes long, broken into six sections including multiple choice, an unscored experimental section, and an unscored writing section.
The raw scores are converted into a total score between 120 and 180. When a student applies to law school, either the highest of their test scores (if they have taken the LSAT multiple times) is reported or an average of their scores.
For students hoping to get into specific schools and programs, the LSAT is a big deal and taken very seriously. A student's LSAT score is a big determining factor in their future, so there is no question as to whether or not a lot of studying should be done beforehand.
Thankfully there are a few high-quality LSAT test prep sites that students can take advantage of. Some offer full-length practice tests, practice questions, one-on-one tutoring, video lectures, and more. There is so much material out there that a student can easily find a program that works for them and achieve a score that opens many educational opportunities. Although the test prep platforms aren't usually free, it will be worth the cost to feel confident on test day and skip the hassle of taking the LSAT over and over again.
Before buying a membership for one of them, we suggest you keep the following criteria in mind:
