For orders under $129.99, shipping will cost $9.95-$11.95 and will take 2 to 7 business days. There is a 3-day shipment option which starts at $15 but will vary based on size and weight of the luggage. If you need 2-day shipping, it will start at $25 and will vary based on luggage size. The retailer has also made a note that due to UPS charging a surcharge on oversized items, any item over 28" will be subject to an oversize fee ranging between $15-$20. Shipping fees are not refundable should you choose to not keep the luggage.
30-day return policy
Irv's Luggage offers a 30-day return policy as long as the item is in its original condition. The luggage will need to have its original tags, packaging and box. Please note that your original shipping fees are not refundable and you will be responsible for paying your own shipping to send the item back. With the original receipt, your refund will be sent to the card you used to make the original payment in 2-3 business days after they have received your item. They will inspect it to make sure that it is unused and all the original packaging is included.
Overwhelming positive reviews
Irv's Luggage had an overwhelming amount of positive customer reviews. Customers raved about how they went above and beyond for their customers. There were also many reviews applauding their amazing customer service. It was also frequently mentioned that an added bonus to Irv's Luggage is their on-site luggage repair shop. They offer quality craftsmanship in their luggage repair.
#1 luggage store
We are impressed with Irv's Luggage. They are a woman-owned small business which always feels good to support. Customers have nothing but positive things to say about the store which is not common to see. They offer a decent return policy and quick shipping options. The only negative we can find with this company is if you need to return an item, you'll pay shipping in both directions. Other than that, we find Irv's Luggage to be a top contender when shopping for luggage and strongly encourage you to check them out.

Best Buy offers free shipping on purchases over $35, either next day or standard shipping on most items. They note on the website if it is free shipping or not. Best Buy also offers store pickup and alternate pickup locations such as CVS, Walgreens, Michaels and more. The retailer ships via UPS, FedEx and USPS in most areas.
15-day return window
When it comes to making a return, Best Buy has two options. You may either return it to a physical Best Buy location or you may ship it back to them for free. They offer a promise stating "If you are not fully satisfied with your purchase, let us help you with a replacement, return or repair" . Items need to be in like new condition and for luggage, you have 15 days, unless you are a Best Buy Totaltech member, and then you have 60 days.
Best Buy has won numerous awards over the years, including Company of the Year by Forbes Magazine in 2004. They also hold the honor of being a Fortune 500 company. The Better Business Bureau has awarded Best Buy with an "A+" rating. Looking at the customer complaints against Best Buy, most of them have a follow-up comment that the solution Best Buy took was satisfactory. The positive reviews were complimenting Best Buy on their selection and competitive pricing.
Excellent option for luggage
With Best Buy having won many major awards including becoming a Fortune 500 company and their high reviews, we feel they are an excellent choice for buying luggage. They have a large selection of luggage to pick from with various shapes, sizes and colors. There is luggage for basically every need. We feel confident that Best Buy will be a great place to shop for your new luggage.
Zappos started 20 years ago as an online retailer selling only shoes. The founder was tired of going to stores and finding the right color of shoe but the wrong size or the right size shoe but the wrong color. He decided to create an online store to fix this issue. Over the years, they have added clothing, handbags, accessories and more. The company prides itself in its focus on the customer.
Impressive product spread
Zappos has a variety of luggage options at different quality levels and prices. On the lowest end they have a Herschel Supply Company carry-on for $104.50. On the highest end, they have a Tumi 19-degree aluminum top packing case for $1,425. Their website offers great detail about each product and what makes it unique. They also offer product specifications, details on the dimensions of the luggage, what type of handle it has, the weight of the luggage and customer reviews. They have done an excellent job at covering every angle.
365-day return policy
Should you not be happy with your luggage purchase, Zappos offers a 365-day return policy from anywhere in the United States. The only exception to this is items marked as-is or final sale. To return an item, you will need the unused item with the original tags, including security tags if it had them, plus the original packaging and proof of purchase. They offer a self-service return on their website. Customers can expect it to take 5-10 business days for Zappos to receive the item plus an additional 2-10 business days for the money to be refunded to the original form of payment. Zappos also offers the option to exchange the luggage. Once again, the exception to this would be items sold as-is or final sale.
No-minimum free shipping
One aspect of Zappos that stands out above the rest is that they offer free shipping on every order. There are no minimums and no exceptions. With free shipping you can expect your luggage to arrive in 4-5 business days in the contiguous United States and 5 to 10 business days for Alaska and Hawaii. They also ship to APO/FPO addresses for free but expect longer delays for that. If you need your order faster, you are able to contact Zappos for options; however, faster shipping will cost extra.
Customer thoughts can be mixed
The Better Business Bureau has given Zappos an "A+" rating. There are a fair number of negative customer reviews. There are complaints about wrong items being sent on various occasions as well as poor customer service. And yet, others have praised the timely and professional experience with Zappos. It seems to be an even mix of positive and negative reviews.
Give them a look for luggage
Overall, we feel Zappos is an excellent choice when shopping for luggage. They have a wide range of prices for every budget. They also have an expansive range of quality and brands. With the free shipping and the 365-day return policy, Zappos is definitely worth a look.

Credits for returns are issued 3-4 days after Luggage Pros receives your item. International and APO/FPO sales are final. Another thing to keep in mind is if your product includes a free gift and you request a return, the free item must also be returned.
Free ground shipping
Luggage Pros offers free ground shipping on orders over $99. If your total is under $99, the ground shipping will cost $6.95. If you need your product faster, they also offer 2- and 3-day shipping. 3-day shipping starts at $15, while 2-day shipping will start at $25. Luggage Pros uses FedEx and USPS to ship their luggage. Helpful customer service
Luggage Pros was awarded an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau. Their customer reviews appear to support this score. One customer said the large selection and helpful service made purchasing luggage a breeze. Another shopper was impressed by getting a live person immediately when calling the customer service line. The customer service representative was also quick and efficient in solving the issue.
One to check out
Overall, we feel that Luggage Pros is a retailer to check out when looking for a new set of luggage. They have a huge selection and offer a wide variety of price points. Their customers speak highly of their customer service and ease of ordering. Luggage Pros appears to go above and beyond in many ways, so don't hesitate to shop for your luggage here.
Home Depot was founded in 1978 by Bernie Marcus and Arthur Blank. The first store was opened in Atlanta, Georgia. Since opening their doors, the store has taken off and there are now 2300 retail stores in the United States, Canada and Mexico. While they are well known for their supplies to do DIY projects around the house, we were pleasantly surprised to see they also carry luggage.
When you search Home Depot's website for luggage, there are 855 options to choose from. They offer luggage as cheap as a $30 Tech travel luggage backpack with built-in USB charging port to as expensive as $811.33 for a Champs 3-piece set. The 3-piece set has 3 suitcases sized 28" , 24" and 20" all with spinner wheels. When looking at the product page, Home Depot offers information such as the dimensions and materials used and what type of wheels and handles. There are also customer reviews and a question-and-answer section to see what others think of the product.
Quick and easy returns
One great feature that Home Depot has is their ease of returns. If you live near a physical store, you can just go there and make your return. You will need the receipt or shipping confirmation plus photo identification and the credit card used to purchase the luggage. If going to a store is not a convenient option for you, they also offer the ability to schedule a return at a drop off location. They will provide you with a shipping label and you will take the luggage to the nearest UPS to send it back. Home Depot has a 90-day return policy on luggage. If your item arrives damaged, you have 30 days to let them know, so be sure to promptly check it over for damages or flaws.
Home Depot has a few options for getting your luggage. The first is free shipping to your home if your order is over $45 on most items. This is typically a 2-day shipping, although there are exceptions so check the product page. They also offer a free ship to store option. If the luggage you want is in stock at your local Home Depot, you may choose to buy it online and pick it up at the store the same day.
When it comes to what others think of Home Depot, the image is mostly a positive one. The Better Business Bureau has awarded them an "A+" rating. Customers enjoy the ease of placing an order and their quick and convenient delivery. Some customers left negative reviews which were mostly about shipping taking longer than anticipated and items arriving damaged. It was also mentioned that it is sometimes difficult to get the correct item delivered if there was an issue the first time.
Customers seem to be pleased with Home Depot as a whole. The general consensus is it is a safe and convenient place to buy your DIY supplies as well as luggage. They have a great variety and an easy return policy. Home Depot is a great choice to purchase luggage should you find some that fit your needs.
Kohl's first opened their doors in 1962 in Brookfield, Wisconsin. They went public in 1992 and now have a bunch of stores from coast to coast. There are 1,100 Kohl's stores in 49 states. The only state they are not located in is Alaska. This retailer also has an online store to shop at. Kohl's stands out from many other department stores because of the charity work they do through their Kohl's Cares program.
Variety of price points
When looking on Kohl's website, they have a huge selection when you search luggage: 2,405 options to be exact. The cheapest option for luggage is $11.16 for a packing cube, which helps you to fit more things into your suitcase. The most expensive luggage will run you $1,240 and it is a Bugatti Birmingham 3-piece hard side spinner luggage set. This set includes a 28" , 24" and 20" spinner wheel suitcase. When looking at Kohl's website, their product page offers a lot of information. They have details on the dimensions, a product description and customer reviews.
When searching for luggage on Kohl's, there are a variety of options to search between. The first is the 3 sizes they offer which are large, medium and carry-on. Second is if the luggage is a hard side or soft side structure. Third is if you are looking for totes or duffels. And finally, fourth is the option for kids and character luggage. Kohl's does include most luggage in their coupon eligibility and when the promotion is going on, you have the ability to earn Kohl's Cash to spend at a later date. These deals can help make the luggage even more affordable.
Free standard shipping at $50+
For orders over $49.99, Kohl's offers free standard shipping. There are some other shipping options as well. For purchases from $0-$49.98, standard shipping is $8.95, 2-day shipping is $19.95, 1-day shipping is $29.95 and Same-Day (as long as you order by 1pm) is $14.95. For purchases that total $49.99-$99.99, the standard shipping is free, 2-day shipping is $19.95, 1-day shipping is $29.95 and Same-Day is $9.95. For orders that cost $100 and up, the standard shipping is free, 2-day is $9.95, 1-day is $19.95 and Same-Day is $9.95. Kohl's also offers free store pickup if that is an option for you. Having the option for fast shipping can come in handy if you need your new luggage in a hurry.
180-day return policy
Out of all of the luggage stores in our evaluation, Kohl's offers the longest return policy at 180 days. With a receipt you will get a full refund back to the original form of payment. If you do not have your receipt, don't worry. You can still return to Kohl's and get store credit for the lowest sale price in the last 13 weeks. While this could result in a low amount, it's better than nothing. If you purchase luggage in the store and wish to return it, that must be done in a store. If you purchased on-line, you have 2 options. You may return to any Kohl's store location with the luggage and packing slip to return. Or you may print a packing slip, complete the return form and return by mail. Kohl's does not pay the return shipping costs if you choose this option though, so if there is a Kohl's within driving distance it may be worth your time to return it in store.
Kohl's has earned an "A-" rating from the Better Business Bureau. The BBB also has a note that the state of California has a lawsuit against Kohl's that was filed in 2016. This is due to Kohl's allegedly using false reference pricing by claiming a higher retail value to give customers a greater sense of savings on sale items. Doing this is illegal in California, hence the lawsuit.
Other problematic areas
Customers appear to not be impressed when calling a Kohl's customer service agent, as they appear to speak from a script which makes it difficult to get unique situations handled. Kohl's credit cards also have been causing issues. Customers have said even though they have made payments, Kohl's has reported them to credit bureaus resulting in lowered credit scores. Still, some positive aspects customers report about Kohl's is the items are of great quality and the in-store customer service is above average. When shopping online, customers have also enjoyed the ease of ordering and the quick delivery.
Overall, Kohl's is a decent choice for purchasing luggage. They have a massive inventory and the option to buy both in-store and online. Kohl's has the longest return policy of 180 days and they do not require the original receipt. We do not recommend applying for the Kohl's credit card as it appears to be causing customers issues. We do, however, recommend looking for coupons and trying to earn Kohl's Cash for some extra savings.
Macy's is a department store that is very well-known. Between their famous New York City store to the Thanksgiving Day Parade, most Americans have heard of the company. It was founded in 1858 by Roland Macy as a dry goods store in New York City. By 1877, they were a full retail store. Today, Macy's is one of the largest department stores in the nation. They have approximately 725 physical stores plus an online shopping website. Macy's, Inc. also covers Bloomingdale's and Bluemercury.
Macy's carries some luggage we haven't seen elsewhere. Their most expensive piece of luggage is one of them. For $1,475, they have a Tumi 2-wheel ski/snowboard duffel. On the cheaper side of things, they have a large deluxe duffel for $24.99. In between they have suitcases, garment bags, duffels, book bags and more. When looking at the product page, they inform you of the luggage dimensions, wheel style, handle type, material and weight. Macy's also has customer reviews on their items listed here. Macy's carries both discount brands and high-end luggage brands. No matter which point on the spectrum you are looking for, they will be able to meet that need. The unique variety also separates Macy's from other stores because they have luggage for more than just your average vacation or business trip.
Limited free shipping
At the time of this review, Macy's was offering free shipping on orders over $49 through the end of the calendar year. It was unclear if this promotion would continue into subsequent years. They also offer same day delivery for orders that cost $25 or more for $15 and less than $25 for $25.95. The same day orders need to be in by noon. Another option Macy's has for getting your luggage is curbside pickup at their store locations.
Macy's offers free returns both in store or by mail. However, items purchased in store must also be returned in store. All you need for a return is the original receipt and the credit card used. As long as you return the luggage within 90 days you are eligible for a refund. The luggage must be in its original, saleable condition with the original tags. Also, shipping fees are not refundable.
Disappointing customer service
The Better Business Bureau gave Macy's an "A+" rating. However, their customer reviews would suggest otherwise. There are numerous complaints about customer service going downhill. Shoppers have complained that trying to get exchanges for incorrect or defective merchandise has taken months and there have been repeated issues. However, there are also positive reviews about friendly experiences in stores, as well as the ease of ordering on the website. Customers appreciate the free shipping and higher quality goods.
Overall, we feel Macy's is an ok choice when shopping for luggage. They may not be our top choice but they are acceptable. If you want high end luggage with sale prices, Macy's is definitely a store to check out. Their well-known reputation makes them a comfortable place to shop. We suggest giving Macy's a try when trying to purchase luggage, especially if you prefer high-end brands or need an unusual style.
Walmart is one of the most well-known big box stores in America. It was founded in 1962 in Rogers, Arkansas by Sam Walton. Today, Walmart stores can be found in 24 different countries around the world. There are over 10,500 stores, a website and an app to shop though. They cater to every possible option.
Numerous lower-end luggage options
Walmart has over 1,000 options when it comes to luggage. They sell luggage both in store and online, with the biggest selection through their website. On the lowest end they sell a Protege pilot case 18" soft side carry-on for $27.88. On the highest end, they have a Disney Minnie Mouse hard side 3-piece luggage set in rose gold for $390. With the lower price points, sometimes the products are lower quality. When looking at their product page, Walmart has a detailed description. They include the dimensions of the luggage, what type of handle it has, what type of outside material the luggage is and how much it weighs. One thing we noticed was missing was customer reviews of the products.
Free 2-day shipping
Walmart offers free 2-day shipping on orders being sold by Walmart that are over $35. They do have a third-party Marketplace, and those vendors set their own shipping schedule and prices. You will need to look at the product description page to check for additional shipping times and prices. For orders that do not qualify for free shipping or if you would rather not have it come to your house, they also offer a free site to store shipping option and you can pick it up at your local Walmart.
Walmart has an easy-to-use 90-day return policy. Refunds are able to be done in store or online. Refunds to your debit or credit card will be available within 10 days and will be issued to the same card you placed the original order with. Remember to bring a photo ID with you, especially if you no longer have a receipt. If you purchase luggage through a Marketplace vendor, the return policy may be different. This will be listed on the product description page.
The customer reviews of Walmart are mixed, and most center around the in-store experience. The lack of employees around to help causes frustrations in customers. Also, the employees that are working do not appear to have the store knowledge customers expect from them. These issues covered a large majority of the complaints found. On a positive note, customers liked the lower price point found at Walmart. Shoppers also like the ease of shopping on the app and online.
Overall, Walmart offers a lower price point on their merchandise. If you are looking for some inexpensive luggage, they would be an excellent choice to check out. Just remember that the luggage might not hold up as well as some of the higher-end brands would. Also, make sure you double check when purchasing if you are buying directly from Walmart or from one of their third-party Marketplace vendors as shipping and warranties may differ.
Luggage Online is an online retailer. When it comes to finding information about the company, we came up short. They offer very little about their history or where they are located and ship from. They advertise that they carry over 100 of the top luggage, handbags and accessories brands. Some of these brands include Tumi, Rimowa, Samsonite and Travelpro.
Lack of search options
Luggage Online's website is extremely frustrating if you want to shop by organizing the products by price: either high to low or low to high, that is not an option. They do allow you to search a price range but it is difficult to navigate through it. Luggage Online does have search options for the style, materials and features though.
Wide price range
When looking at the price points, there is a wide range Luggage Online covers. The cheapest option is $29.99 for various sports teams' carry-on soft side wheeled duffle bags. This is one to check out if you are a sports fan as the price is low for official gear. The most expensive option is $935 and is a Bric's USA Luggage 21" spinner suitcase. The product page provides a long description about the luggage as well as the dimensions. Customer reviews on the selected luggage is available to check out. Luggage Online also offers product details such as if it is TSA approved, the weight, wheel type and handle type.
110% low price guarantee
Luggage Online offers a 110% low price guarantee on online prices. They also have a satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your order, they will refund you. The retailer offers a 30-day return window, but the luggage will need to be in the same condition it was received: unused with tags and proof of purchase. To start a return, you need to email their customer service and they will email you a return label. If you just send it back, no refund will be provided. Sale items and gift cards are excluded from returns. Luggage Online also offers exchanges, which they advertise to be the faster option.
Free shipping over $99
If you spend over $99, your order from Luggage Online will ship for free within the continental United States. The order should take 1-3 business days to process before shipping. Shipping will take 3-8 business days to arrive. Luggage Online also offers shipping to Alaska, Hawaii, Puerto Rico and PO Boxes but there will be an additional charge and packages will be shipped through USPS. Most of Luggage Online's items can be shipped internationally as well, and these shipping charges will be calculated at checkout.
Less than impressed customers
Customers' opinions of Luggage Online are less than impressed. One customer stated that they ordered a luggage item on sale and paid for the item. Luggage Online then informed them the sale was over and they could only offer 10% off instead of the advertised sale price, even though the customer had already paid the sale price. Multiple customers complained that the luggage they ordered was followed by an email stating that Luggage Online did not have it in stock and were unable to fulfill the order. There are also numerous complaints on the difficulty of getting refunded for items the company canceled.
We would suggest staying away from Luggage Online. Based on customer reviews they seem to be shady and not an honest company. The only positive reviews we could find were on their website and that provided no negative reviews. As soon as you search outside of the Luggage Online website, the negative insights start flowing. We encourage you to check out one of our other luggage suggestions instead.
eBags is an online retailer that sells handbags, luggage, backpacks, laptop bags and travel accessories. They began in Greenwood Village, Colorado in 1998. In 2017, it was acquired by Samsonite for $105 million. As of 2020, eBags has stopped selling brands other than those owned by Samsonite.
Decent price range
The lowest priced luggage on the site is a carry-on spinner suitcase for $89.99 that comes in 4 colors. The highest priced is an Ibon large spinner for $400 that is available in 3 colors. The website provides information on dimensions and weight. They also inform you of the type of wheels, handle, material and what the luggage warranty is. eBags has customer reviews on each luggage item to see what others thought of the item.
Subpar return policy
If you are not satisfied with your luggage purchase, eBags offers a 30-day return policy that begins the day your luggage ships. The luggage must be sent back in its original condition, with tags still attached and in the original packaging to be eligible for a refund. They have a longer processing time to refund your money. They request 14 business days to process the return and then 1 to 2 credit card cycles to see the money returned. They also deduct a return fee from your credit. This is $14.99 for travel items and $9.99 for non-travel items so take that into consideration when making a purchase. eBags does not accept any exchanges, only returns.
Plenty of shipping options
eBags offers a variety of shipping options. For standard shipping, orders between $0-$99 cost $5.00 in shipping and $99.01 and up qualify for free shipping. Expedited shipping, which is 2-3 business days, costs $19.99 plus a $10 luggage surcharge. Priority shipping, 1 day, is $39.99 plus a $15 luggage surcharge. If you live in Alaska or Hawaii, ground shipping is not available. For orders $0-$99 shipping is $29.99, and orders $99.01 and up is $39.99. Both of these options are subject to a $19.99 surcharge if you have an oversized item. eBags does not ship internationally, or to Puerto Rico or Guam.
Upon looking at what customers think of eBags, the general consensus is a negative one. Customers are stating that the company does not follow through with their product warranties. Getting anyone from eBags to answer a phone call or email appears to be a challenge in itself. This adds to the frustrations when customers are trying to get a refund for their luggage, given the long wait to get the money refunded plus the fees they charge to send back a return. We tried to find a positive customer review, and after searching for quite a while, the only one we found was that after 3 phone calls, the customer was finally able to get the assistance they required and that experience was a positive one.
Avoid this luggage store
With the general consensus of eBags offering a poor customer experience, we cannot recommend this company when looking to purchase luggage. We strongly encourage you to look at some of our other companies that have been reviewed and choose one of them instead. If you do decide to give eBags a try, hopefully you will not need to make a return or contact their customer service - because you'll almost certainly wind up disappointed.
The handles can also be different. There are soft handles like a duffle bag. For suitcases, they can come all the way up or have a variety of stopping points in them. You also need to consider what size and shape you want your luggage to be.
When choosing a retailer for your luggage, do you want to support a small business or a big chain? You also need to consider the quality of craftsmanship you desire for your luggage. Some retailers have a lower price point but also lower-quality goods. Other stores could have a better quality and the option for a sale, giving you more for your money.
As you consider where to purchase your new luggage from, here are some key items to consider about each store's inventory and their policies:
TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Luggage Stores available today. We hope this information helps you select the right luggage for all of your future travel needs!
Historically, luggage consisted mainly of large trunks or bulky chests. Today, the term is readily used to describe a suitcase, garment bag, duffle and/or tote. A suitcase is commonly used for clothing to be worn throughout a lengthy trip, while a duffle or tote may be used as an overnight bag for very short times away from home.
When it comes to traveling with your luggage, having the right products may mean the difference in having a memorable trip and one that you would rather forget. The right luggage will provide you with organization, plenty of room and a few spare compartments for all of the little souvenirs that you pick up during your travels. Above all, the best luggage will be selected after first determining how you intend to use it. What size will you need and what is the anticipated length of your trip(s)? The answers to both of these questions will help with your decision and will ensure that your luggage will be a perfect fit.
If you are like most, you are probably upgrading to a new luggage set. Perhaps you have an older suitcase and need a new product with more space or maybe your current set is simply beginning to show its age. Whatever the reason, choosing the size for your new suitcase can simply be done by measuring the inside of your old one and then deciding whether or not you need the same size or one featuring a smaller or larger interior. With the accurate measurements, you will be able to narrow your choices down to only those that are available in the size that you need. The basic recommendation is that a suitcase should accommodate enough clothes to get you through your trip. The longer the trip, the larger the luggage.
Hard-sided suitcases are stain resistant, stronger than soft-sided luggage and can be used to protect fragile items. These types of suitcases typically feature wheels for easy transport and a pull bar. Semi-soft sided suitcases offer a sturdy frame and flexible interior, which is ideal if you tend to pack a bulging suitcase. These, too, commonly feature wheels and a pull bar for easy transport. Soft-sided suitcases are ideal for public transportation because they are lightweight and can be squeezed into small spaces.
Before you begin to shop, take a moment to think about how often your luggage will be used, what type of trips will be taken, the length of time you will be spending away from home and which items will be accompanying you on your travels.
Most quality luggage pieces will feature multiple compartments, which will make for easy storage. If you are traveling and are limited in the amount of space that you have for luggage, having extra compartments will be ideal. If you are looking for matched sets, most top luggage manufacturers, including American Tourister and Samsonite, offer a full product line of quality pieces in matching designs. Whether your choice is classic solids or you like a splash of color in your luggage, there is no shortage of choices.
