As pregnancy progresses, so will the need for bigger clothing sizes to accommodate your growing belly. It can be frustrating to not fit into your normal clothes like you did pre-pregnancy. But on the bright side, needing maternity clothes is a great excuse to buy almost an entirely new wardrobe!
Let's be honest, maternity clothing hasn't always been appealing and stylish. It used to be that pregnant women dressed to reflect the way they felt, which was often sluggish, tired, and unenergetic. There are plenty of women who would joke about wearing a "bag" all day long because it was all they felt like they could fit into. Plus, sometimes the need for comfort trumps the desire to coordinate a cute outfit for the day and the "bag" seems like the most appealing option.

Motherhood Maternity is a chic maternity clothing store with lots of amazing clothing styles to choose from. Their base prices are fairly reasonable and they feature different sales that make their clothing even more inexpensive. The website is modern, bright, and appealing to shop. They've earned our highest rating for affordable and stylish maternity clothing.
Kohl's is a staple clothing store known for more than just their maternity selection. Their pricing is more than reasonable with frequent sales and discounts offered to their customers. Not only do they have a good selection of maternity clothing, but they also sell nursing and baby gear as well.
Gap is a well-known brand with a good reputation for meeting all the clothing needs of men, women, and children alike. Gap is not a maternity-exclusive store, but they do carry all the staple pieces of clothing you would need during a pregnancy. Some items could be considered slightly expensive, but if you take advantage of their sales, you'll find their prices quite reasonable.
Old Navy is a great option for women looking to buy maternity clothes on a budget. They have a huge collection of both staple maternity pieces as well as fun, unique patterned pieces. On top of their already low prices, Old Navy is frequently running sales, so you'll find some of the lowest prices on maternity wear here.
Figure 8 carries clothing for maternity, nursing, and post-pregnancy wear. The creators of the brand, Ying and Stephanie, based clothing designs on their own experiences as mothers, and their goal is to provide pieces that are comfortable and functional. Although some clothes are a bit on the pricey side, there are plenty of options for anyone looking for pre- or post-pregnancy body styles.
A Pea in the Pod is a designer maternity clothing store with high prices. They only carry exclusive maternity wear and have just about every type of clothing imaginable to fit your pregnant belly. Although they have a wide variety of beautiful maternity styles, the high prices of even some basic items might not be affordable for everyone.
Seraphine is a high-end maternity clothing store with styles that have been worn by many famous celebrities. Their prices reflect their designer pieces and are on the higher end of the pricing scale compared to their competitors. We found their website to be busy and harder to navigate, but that doesn't negate that they do offer beautiful clothing here.
Isabella Oliver is a London-based, eco-friendly maternity brand. They offer all types of maternity clothing from dresses to jeans in simple, plain patterns. However, the selection of each type of clothing is fairly small. Their collection of clothing is quite expensive and we didn't feel they offered anything more unique than our higher-rated maternity stores.
Good news! Maternity clothing design has come a long way and there are plenty of options for outfits that are both comfortable AND fashionable. Say goodbye to your frumpy sweatpants and t-shirts and hello to stylish jeans, dresses, and tops that will make pregnancy itself look like the latest fashion trend. You deserve to look and feel good throughout your pregnancy whether you are lounging at home, out on the town, or grinding it out at work!
