Nordstrom has something for every size, shape, and stage of pregnancy, and we encourage you to see for yourself. This retailer earns our highest recommendation among online maternity clothing stores.

Storq minimizes the stress - and expense - of transitioning your wardrobe from your pre-pregnancy clothing to your maternity wear by providing you with some basic staple items to see you through until your baby arrives and well afterwards. Everything here is classic and comfortable, and sizes range from XS to 4X to accommodate every expectant mom. Motherhood (formerly known as Motherhood Maternity), went from having a brick-and-mortar presence in malls nationwide to being 100% online. You'll still find a great selection of maternity essentials here, with free shipping on orders of $99+ and no-cost returns within 30 days. Give Motherhood a look when shopping for your mom-to-be must-haves.

Kohl's

Kohl's is an affordable way to buy the staple pieces for your maternity wardrobe, from t-shirts to comfy leggings and more. Most clothing comes in multiple colors, making it easy to stock up on anything that fits you just right. Kohl's has a generous 180-day return window, free shipping on orders of $49+ and free ship-to-store if there's a location near you. Although you'll need to look elsewhere if you need something designer brand or formal, Kohl's should be one of your go-to stores for all of your maternity clothing essentials.

PinkBlush

"Not your mama's maternity clothes” - that's the motto behind PinkBlush's inventory of on-trend, stylish-yet-comfortable maternity wear. There's something for everyone and every occasion here, including hundreds of options for petite, tall, and plus-size mamas-to-be and cute things to wear for your gender reveal or "babymoon” vacay. Most women love what they get, but some say that the material can be thin or scratchy - so maybe save ordering anything designated as "final sale” for a later purchase.

Old Navy

If you're looking for wardrobe essentials for pregnancy and nursing, Old Navy is a decent place to start. Their selection is a little more well-rounded than sister store Gap, and you'll also find some of the cutesy mama-to-be shirts and mom/baby matching sets (if that's your thing). You've only got a 30-day return window, and only Rewards members get free shipping (when they spend at least $50). But, if you love something you find at Old Navy, there's no big reason to avoid shopping for your maternity clothing here.

Gap

Gap's maternity clothing follows the overall brand aesthetic of being "clean, confident, and modern”: mostly solids and stripes here, making it easy to create a basic wardrobe for during and after your pregnancy (though you'll have to shop somewhere else for underwear, since Gap's inventory only covers nursing). The return policy isn't overly generous, and you'll need to have a free Rewards membership if you want free shipping over $50. Gap isn't a bad place to get your maternity gear, but there are a few online stores we like a little more.

Ingrid + Isabel

Ingrid + Isabel was the original creator of the Bellaband, allowing expectant moms to get extra life out of their non-maternity pants by holding them up unbuttoned. When that's no longer working, you can shop here to get leggings and jeans, plus plenty of other traditional-but-on-trend maternity wear. You may find that what you're looking for is out of stock in your size, though, and Ingrid + Isabel's shipping and return policies don't quite keep up with the competition. This isn't a bad place to shop for your pregnancy and postpartum wardrobe, but there's some room for improvement.

Seraphine

Endorsed by the Duchess of Cambridge? Seraphine is the only maternity brand that can make that claim, but lucky for you their online store is open for business no matter where you live. There are some really novel options here, including convertible jackets that can be used for babywearing after your pregnancy and tops that your partner can use for skin-to-skin contact with your baby. But, Seraphine's prices are pretty high for even the most basic wardrobe items, and customers have had trouble getting help when there's a problem. That keeps this maternity clothing store from earning a higher ranking among the competition.

A Pea In The Pod

A Pea in the Pod is best known for offering designer-brand maternity wear, in addition to their own signature line of clothing. It's a good place to shop if you prefer high-end brands and don't mind waiting for your items to arrive. On the other hand, mamas who need clothing beyond size XL or who are on a budget will definitely be happier shopping at a higher-rated maternity clothing store.

Isabella Oliver

Isabella Oliver is committed to solid ethical and environmental practices, providing you with maternity clothing you can feel good about buying. As you'd guess, this makes their selection much more limited - and expensive - than the average maternity store. While this UK-based retailer gets plenty of compliments from happy customers worldwide, the average expectant mama will want to shop elsewhere to get everything she needs for her wardrobe.

HATCH

HATCH starts out strong in theory, promising to make pregnancy-and-afterward fun, beautiful, and more enjoyable. But, unless you like paying much more for your maternity wear and struggling to find it in your size, you might not think that the HATCH experience delivers what it promises. This is our least-favorite maternity clothing store in our evaluations.
