Where Can You Find the Best Maternity Clothes Online?  Maternity fashion has come a long way from the oversized, shapeless pieces of the past. Today, you have stylish, comfortable, and confidence-boosting options that keep up with the latest trends while accommodating your growing bump. You can choose anything from chic wrap dresses and flowy maxi styles to trendy maternity jeans with flexible waistbands and cozy loungewear that doesn't sacrifice style.
When it comes to maternity clothing, Ingrid + Isabel is a brand that's well-known for its innovative Bellaband, which lets you extend the life of your pre-pregnancy wardrobe by holding up your unbuttoned jeans. This versatility is a theme throughout their collection, with pieces designed to be worn before, during, and after pregnancy. Plus, as a mom-founded company, they support a significant number of women-owned brands, which we particularly love to see in the maternity clothing industry.
About 75 maternity clothing pieces to choose from
Ingrid + Isabel offers a variety of styles, from classic to trendy, which is great for keeping your wardrobe fresh and aligned with your personal taste. They have a broad range of categories, including intimates, pajamas, workwear, and activewear, making it a one-stop shop in theory. However, when you dive deeper into specific items, you might find that the selection isn't as extensive as you'd like. During our most recent visit to the Ingrid + Isabel website, there were only 75 items to choose from, ranging in price from $28 for the Bellaband and going up to $239 for maternity jeans.
Size range isn't very broad, and availability can be limited
And, within that selection, sizing can be problematic. Ingrid + Isabel only offers maternity clothing in sizes ranging from XS-XL, and a lot of the pieces we thought were super-cute weren't offered in the larger sizes. For example, those $239 maternity jeans (the Paige Noella Straight Leg, to be specific) maxed out at a size 31 - and the size chart told us that size is the equivalent of a traditional USA size 12. Thinking we might get more availability if we looked at a different brand Ingrid + Isabel carries, we looked at the Lou Lou Low Rise Wide Leg Maternity Jean by Joe's Jeans. No such luck: those were only in stock for sizes 25 and 26, and they topped out at size 32 (also equivalent to a USA size 12, maybe 14). Just like the last time we evaluated this maternity clothes store, the actual availability of what they show drops by a ton when you click on individual pieces. What expecting mama needs that kind of aggravation?
Most reviews are for the in-house brand
Your best bet for finding good availability, broader sizes, and even lots of mamas' reviews here? Look specifically at Ingrid + Isabel's own branded items. We found a solid selection when we looked at Maternity Must-Haves, especially in the intimates category. That included the Cooling Crossover Nursing + Maternity Bra ($44, 4.4-star average across 40 reviews), the Nursing + Maternity Sports Bra ($46, 4.7-star average across 50 reviews), and our comfy favorite, the Ultimate Fold Down Maternity Black Jogger ($88, 4.6-star average across 22 reviews).
Pre-owned clothing can save you money in multiple ways
One unique addition to the Ingrid + Isabel site since last time is the Pre-Loved section. This "bump swap" feature lets you sell your clothing back to the store too (you'll see resale value on each piece of clothing, minus things like undies that no one should be sharing). That could be a smart way to get around the return policy, because you'll get 110% brand credit for each item you sell. And, if you're looking to pay less than retail price, this section is a savvy place to browse: we saw Mini Babydoll dresses for $45.75 ($98 full price), the Breeze maternity dress for $50 ($128 full price), and so on.
Shipping and return policy are just "meh"
The shipping policy at Ingrid + Isabel, while improved since our last visit, is still a bit of a letdown. They've added free shipping on orders of $250+, but you'll pay a flat $10 fee on orders with a lower total. Also, returns (within 30 days) come with a $12 restocking fee unless you opt for store credit or an exchange. You'll also need to cover return shipping costs if you're not taking a store credit or exchanging for a different size or color.
Just okay
Ingrid + Isabel is an average choice for maternity clothing. While they offer some great pieces and support women-led businesses, their limited sizing options, higher prices, and less-than-ideal shipping and returns policies might make you want to explore other options first. The Bellaband remains a standout product, but for a broader maternity wardrobe, you'll probably find better value elsewhere.
Continued from above...
There's no shortage of fashionable ways to celebrate your pregnancy. You'll also find fun seasonal updates, like sweater dresses and knit sets for colder months or breezy, belly-friendly sundresses when the weather warms up. And if you're looking for something extra special, maternity brands now offer on-trend activewear, work-appropriate styles, and even formalwear for weddings or baby showers.
Shopping for maternity clothes online makes the process even better. Instead of hunting through limited in-store selections, you can browse entire collections from the comfort of home - especially helpful as your pregnancy progresses and you'd rather skip the mall. Online retailers also have more size inclusivity, better deals, and convenient features like size charts and flexible return policies.
Shopping online also makes it easier to compare prices. You can quickly look at different websites to see which one offers the best deal. Many online stores have customer reviews, so you can get an idea of the quality of the clothes before buying. This helps you find affordable maternity clothes that fit your needs without spending more than you want to.
Plus, reading customer reviews from other expecting moms gives you a better sense of fit and comfort before you buy. Whether you need a few basics or want a full wardrobe refresh, online maternity stores give you access to cute and practical pieces without the hassle.
Of course, not all retailers of maternity clothes are created equal. When deciding where to shop, keep these key factors in mind:
