ADT is one of the biggest home security system companies in the nation. They provide 3 different types of medical alert systems that cater to people with different lifestyles. The details of each product are clear and pricing is transparent. We like that they offer free next-day shipping, don't require long-term contracts, and refund you whenever you cancel their services. ADT does a good job of making things simple for customers and their "A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau makes us confident in recommending them for medical alert systems.
Rescue Alert has one main medical alert system that comes with very basic features for nearly $28/month at the cheapest. They offer add-ons like an automatic fall detection pendant, lockbox, or wall button, but these come with an added monthly cost. Rescue Alert doesn't give information about a return policy or cancellation policy, so we are left with a lot of questions about how their services work. We wish they provided this information so we didn't have to call customer service to get these basic details. We aren't impressed with what is offered through Rescue Alert, so they have landed at the bottom of our list.
Medical alert systems have grown in popularity over the years due to their ability to get a person life-saving help in the case of an emergency. Many senior citizens prefer to stay in their homes for as long as possible rather than move to a care facility - and that presents certain risks if they aren't being routinely monitored. A medical alert system can quickly contact emergency services in the event of a fall or other unexpected health issue to protect the safety of the wearer 24/7.
Seniors typically wear medical alert systems around their wrist or neck for convenience. Certain companies offer wall or shower-mounted devices as well. Using them is as easy as clicking a single button to get in touch with an operator and reach out for immediate emergency help. As an added safety measure, some systems automatically detect when the wearer has fallen to make sure they aren't left alone when they are unable to press the button.
There are more medical alert options popping up all the time, so it's wise to do your research and make sure you find the best one for you or your loved one. Some tried and true companies have been around for years and have a lot of customer feedback while others are brand new with updated features and technologies.
You'll want to find a company that gives transparent pricing information and makes it as easy as possible to use their device. Medical alert systems are important, and companies shouldn't make your purchase confusing or unnecessarily expensive. Shopping online helps you compare retailers and find your best option.
