Go Mobility was created to "help as many people as possible go where they want to go and continue living the lifestyle they deserve" . In fact, one of the co-founders knows firsthand what it feels like to use a mobility scooter for the first time and get that rush of freedom and joy. Since 2003, Go Mobility has worked hard to offer that same independence and happiness to others.
Terrific variety of scooter types
You'll find an excellent range of mobility scooter types here, and you can easily view them by category, like 4-wheel travel scooters or all-terrain models. We were excited to see some options here that aren't always available at other stores, like two-person designs and "sit or stand" scooters. You'll have to pick a category to get started, and we would have liked to see the ability to filter the results by criteria like weight capacity, distance on a charge, and so on. Helpful hint: click on the icon to change from Grid View to List View, and you'll at least see each scooter's basics (like capacity, top speed, and driving range).
Ample details provided prior to purchase
For the juiciest details, however, you'll naturally need to click on the "learn more" button on any scooter you're interested in. Get as much or as little as you want, from an overview of the specs to the full owner's manual, watch videos of the scooter in use, and see what warranty coverage is included. Go Mobility offers customers the ability to leave reviews, but most of the scooters we clicked on didn't have any.
Price matching and free shipping
If you happen to find a Go Mobility scooter on offer for a lower price somewhere else, GM will offer you a price match. There are a few exceptions (eBay auctions don't qualify), but you can shop confidently here knowing they're not trying to rip you off. And, shipping is free in the lower 48 United States, no matter which scooter you buy.
30-day returns
Go Mobility has a generous return policy. You'll still have to pay a restocking fee of 15% (like most mobility scooter retailers), but you'll have 30 days to get a refund as long as it's in new condition and in the original packaging. The only exception is Ewheels scooters, which only have a 15-day return policy due to the manufacturer's requirements.
Fantastic reputation
As you would expect from a top-ranked scooter retailer, Go Mobility has an "A+" rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. We were glad to see that there were only three complaints filed with the BBB over the last three years. You can also read through nearly 200 five-star reviews on the Go Mobility site. We're pretty sure they're filtered - no retailer, and we mean none, comes away with 100% five-star ratings on every product - but they're still verified buyers, and their comments might help you pick a scooter that's a good match for you.
Trustworthy mobility scooter store
Go Mobility has been slightly edged out since our last review, no longer coming in as our first-place retailer of mobility scooters. That's not because they've done anything wrong, just that their rival has done a few more things right. We still give Go Mobility a very positive recommendation: if you need a scooter and want to know you're getting it from a company you can trust, this one still fits the bill. Don't hesitate to buy a scooter from Go Mobility if they have the one you want.
Maybe you've been avoiding that vacation you've dreamed of because you're not sure you can handle the walking. Or, you could be facing a long recovery after knee surgery and you'd like some motorized support for getting around the house. Either way, a mobility scooter is a fantastic way to keep your independence, live life to the fullest, and even have a good time while you're at it.
There are many different styles of scooters to choose from. How can you tell which one is right for you? Start by determining where you'll be using it the most: indoors and at home or outdoors for adventures, short distances or long hauls. The structure of the scooter and even the tires themselves should match your anticipated usage.
Next, figure out if you need it to be portable (able to be taken apart and stowed in the trunk of a sedan or in the cargo area of a larger vehicle) or if you'll have a carrier attached to a tow hitch for transport from one place to another - or maybe neither one is necessary.
Finally, decide which features and characteristics matter most. You may need to take into consideration the user weight capacity of the scooter, how far it can go on a single charge, maximum speed, and so on. Then, have some fun! Have you always wanted a fire engine red set of wheels? Now's your chance! How about a basket or a cup holder? Some of the highest-end mobility scooters even have security systems like you'd find on a full-size vehicle.
While you should also consider your budget, don't spend too much time comparing the scooter's price among retailers. Why? It's usually set by the manufacturers, so you won't often find significant differences from one store to the other. However, you might see that a retailer sweetens the deal by offering a rewards program, affordable financing, or top-notch service after the sale - and that should definitely factor into your decision.
