When we first heard the name "Serenity Health", we thought we might mistakenly be shopping for in-home medical equipment! Fortunately, this was not the case; this Wisconsin-based retailer has been in the home decor and furnishings business for 10 years and carries a good selection of patio sets and other outdoor furniture, fountains, and fire pits, just to name a few.
To find what you're looking for, it's easiest to choose a category:
You can also choose to shop by brand, but since Serenity Health only carries four Outdoor Furniture brands - primarily in the Sunnydaze Decor line - this may not be very helpful.
Once you've selected the category of outdoor furniture that you need, you can further refine your results by price, seating capacity (if applicable), material, and so forth. You may need to give the pages some time to load; we found the speed to be somewhat slow, and when we didn't wait long enough, the option up on the right-hand side to sort by price low-to-high or vice-versa wasn't always there.
Serenity Health's selection is fairly average. Again, many of their products come from one or two, which naturally limits what customers can choose from. For example, in the Patio Dining Sets category, there were just over 100 sets to choose from, and more than half of them were made by Anderson Furniture or Sunnydaze Decor.
Compared with the competition, Serenity does keep prices low on what they offer. We checked several items, ranging from a conversation set to an outdoor bench, and every time the price was the same or slightly lower than the best price elsewhere. To further sweeten the deal, Serenity Health & Home Decor offers a price match guarantee: if you find a piece of outdoor furniture with a lower total price - such as the cost of the item plus any shipping and handling fees - you can contact their customer service department and request that they match or even beat the price you found. We did think it was interesting that their price match policy included this disclaimer: "We reserve the right to not match or beat a competitor's price if their price is so ridiculously low, that we make little or no profit on the transaction."
Keep an eye out for additional savings; we found a pop-up offering a discount of 11% on all first purchases for customers who sign up for the Serenity Health email "club". Shipping is also free on all orders of $50+ within the continental US.
Serenity Health's general return policy is great: after getting a return authorization, you can return items within 30 days of receipt, with that policy being extended for holiday items bought between November 1 and December 31. Just be aware that, like most retailers of large items, there are specific procedures for larger items shipped via common carrier - such as inspecting for damage while the driver is there and reporting any damage immediately - that may apply if you're buying a patio set or other large outdoor furniture items.
So, how does Serenity Health rate when it comes to customer satisfaction? All indicators point to "good": an "A" rating with the Better Business Bureau, numerous compliments from customers who were pleased with the products they bought, and appropriate responses to the few complaints we did find.
Although their selection is somewhat limited compared with some of the highest-rated retailers in our review, Serenity Health does a good job of providing outdoor furniture for a range of budgets and tastes, and their commitment to customer satisfaction is well-established.
There's nothing quite like sitting out on your patio in the evening, enjoying a cool breeze and a beautiful sunset while relaxing on comfortable, stylish furniture. Whether your style tends towards the super-casual, like hammocks and Adirondack chairs, or you prefer a sleek, modern look, having the right outdoor furniture can make all the difference between an unused patio or backyard and your own personal relaxation-and-entertainment zone.
What should you buy for your outdoor furniture? Naturally, the answer depends on what you have in mind. Are you looking for chaise lounges to put next to your pool, or a patio set for serving cocktails and appetizers? Outdoor furniture isn't limited just to seating: most retailers also carry chimineas and fire pit tables both for ambience and heating purposes, shades and curtains for privacy and protection from the sun, even swings just for the fun of it.
As you think about what you need to make your ideal outdoor space, you'll want to give some consideration to what materials are used. By design, most outdoor furniture is designed to be weather-resistant, but some materials can withstand heat, cold, rain and snow easily, while others will need to be moved indoors during times of more extreme temperatures.
You may be surprised to know that buying patio furniture and other outdoor items is often easier and more affordable when you shop online. Even on large, bulky things like lounge chairs and tables, many retailers offer free shipping, saving you the hassle of having to drive around town to find what you need - and then hoping that it will fit in your car for the ride home! What should you look for when choosing an online store for your outdoor furniture? Keep these criteria in mind:
