Established by Los Angeles-based designer Renee Claire in 1998, this brand offers a wide range of ultrasoft sleepwear made from organically grown cotton certified by the Global Organic Textile Standard (GOTS), ensuring a sustainable and restful night's sleep. With inclusive sizing options ranging from 3 months to 3X, BedHead PJs caters to the whole family, including pets. From over 50 unique prints to classic designs, their selection is sure to please. Keep an eye out for discounts and perks like free shipping on orders over $150 and their Insiders loyalty program. Plus, with a 30-day return policy and excellent customer support, you can shop with confidence knowing that BedHead PJs has your comfort and satisfaction in mind. This pajama store earns our highest rating.
PajamaGram has made a big jump in our rankings, going from "worst” to "almost first”. Not only will you find hundreds of PJ options for men, women, kids, and pets, but they're all backed by an exceptional, 60-day "Love-It Guarantee” that puts PajamaGram above many of its rival pajama stores. Although these jammies aren't universally loved, it's easy to see hundreds of shopper reviews on most of them and use that to help you decide. Tons of variety, ample size ranges, affordable pricing, and lots of gifting upgrades like monogramming are all part of PajamaGram's excellent rating from us.
If comfort is your top PJ priority, the Pima Cotton styles at The Cat's Pajamas should be on your list of jammies to consider. Whether you pick a classic solid or a silly design like sushi, the sleepwear here is often described as "the most comfortable pajamas you'll ever own” by hundreds of customers. There aren't many options for men, though, and the only matching sets are for "Mommy & Me”. Those limitations and a just-average 30-day return policy keep this pajama store from earning a first-place finish on our list, but The Cat's Pajamas is still an excellent choice for high-quality, super-comfy PJs.
If you're all about comfort without sacrificing sophistication, Petite Plume is the pajama store for you. Their selection of pajamas for men, women, and children, all made from the finest cotton or silk, exudes elegance. While you may have come across their stylish jammies at high-end retailers like Nordstrom and Bloomingdale's, the best variety is found on their own online store. From classic gingham to solid patterns, their styles are perfect for a classy-casual Christmas card photo shoot or a cozy night in. While their pricing is surprisingly competitive, keep an eye out for discounts on your first visit, and consider adding monogramming for a personal touch. However, be mindful of their shorter return window and limited customer feedback. Overall, with their luxurious fabrics and timeless designs, Petite Plume earns a solid rating for offering high-quality sleepwear for the whole family.
For onesie and footed pajamas for the whole family, hop on over to Big Feet Pajamas. They specialize in this sleepwear style that's often the butt of jokes (but who can lie and say they're not comfy in them?), with options in several designs (including with/without feet and with/without backside flaps). You won't find dozens of options with respect to patterns, but what's there is affordable and cozy. Big Feet PJs has also gotten over 1,000 five-star reviews and an "A+” from the BBB, earning a good rating from us.
The Pajama Company is your PJ middleman, connecting you with many different brands, styles, and fabrics suitable for the oldest to youngest on your sleepwear shopping list. The site has gotten some upgrades and it's a little easier to browse than before, but it still has room to improve - to the point that you'd probably be better off going to the brands' online stores instead. With no real "wow” factor and no customer reviews on the PJs here, The Pajama Company continues to get a "just okay” rating from us.
Lake Pajamas comes up short compared with many rival PJ stores. While their selection initially seems solid, you'll find lots of sizes and colors out of stock when you spot something you'd like to buy. And, according to numerous customers, many of the pajamas here shrink so drastically after washing that they're not wearable anymore. That's one thing if you're only spending a few dollars, but Lake Pajamas' sleepwear is on the spendy side, and their customer service team isn't going to make it right if your jammies shrink a ton too.
Pajama City knows what sells, if you catch our drift. Most of their featured sleepwear is for, shall we say, not doing a lot of sleeping. But, if you like the opposite end of the style spectrum (like onesies), you'll find some of those here too. Either way, unfortunately, PJ City isn't a great option: lots of styles and sizes are out of stock, customer service is only reachable via email, and the site itself was glitchy enough to show us "triceratops” as a size for some spicy lingerie. Check out Pajama City if you want a laugh, but not if you're expecting a good selection of quality pajamas from a reliable store.
The history of pajamas is a fascinating journey through time, taking us back to ancient civilizations like the Egyptians and Indians who draped themselves in loose-fitting garments for sleep. Fast forward to the 17th and 18th centuries, pajamas became all the rage in the West, thanks to the influence of exotic Eastern cultures. These early versions were more like loose trousers and jackets, often made from silk or cotton, and were reserved for the elite.
Nowadays, pajamas come in all shapes, sizes, and styles, catering to every taste and preference imaginable. There are classic button-up sets for those who like to keep it timeless, cozy fleece onesies for the perpetual kids-at-heart, and silky slips for those who prefer a touch of elegance even in dreamland. Let's not forget about the novelty pajamas adorned with everything from cartoon characters to punny phrases, perfect for adding a splash of whimsy to your bedtime routine.
One of the best things about pajamas in the modern age is the ease of finding the perfect pair with just a few clicks. Thanks to the wonders of online shopping, you can explore a vast universe of sleepwear options without ever having to leave your cozy cocoon. Want a matching set for a family photo? No problem. Planning a stay-in-your-PJs vacation or a pajama-themed holiday party? The internet has you covered, quite literally.
