Where is the best place to buy pajamas?  There's something undeniably comforting about slipping into a pair of pajamas that feel just right, and if you're honest, you probably have a couple of favorites you reach for far more often than the rest. Pajamas may seem simple, but they've actually traveled a long, curious journey through history to get to your dresser drawer.
Bedhead PJs has been making sleep a little softer since 1998, and the brand still feels like one of those "once you try it, you get it" discoveries. Founded by Los Angeles designer Renee Claire, Bedhead built its reputation on organically grown, GOTS-certified cotton and eco-friendly trims long before sustainable sleepwear was trendy. Slip into one of their sets and you can tell - everything feels thoughtfully made, comfortable from the first wear, and designed to last longer than your average pajamas.
A cheerful, West Coast vibe that shows in every print
If you love pajamas with personality, Bedhead PJs is a delight to shop. You get 50+ one-of-a-kind prints, many of them hand-drawn and inspired by that sunny West Coast energy. Think florals, stripes, conversational scenes, and patterns with just enough whimsy to make you smile. Their collaborations are especially fun: the Liberty Fabrics prints bring in that heritage, hand-drawn British artistry, while the Trina Turk collection delivers bolder colors and modern California flair. Together, they give you pajamas that genuinely feel special - the kind you're proud to give as gifts or wear in family photos.
Sizing that works for the whole family
One of the things people consistently love about Bedhead is how easy it is to outfit everyone. Sizes range from baby 3 months up through adult 3X, so matching sets are completely doable. And since the prints are so distinctive, it's easy to pick a set that fits everyone's vibe - whether that's sweet, colorful, subtle, or joyfully bold. Some of our favorites this time around were Surfin Santa, Eiffel for You (though the dudes in the family may not be so excited about pink and macarons), and the black-and-white line drawing Wizard of Oz (which comes in a short-sleeves-and-shorts style that's perfect for those of us who need help staying cooler at night).
Comfort you can feel - and sustainability you can trust
A big part of Bedhead PJ's charm is how good their pajamas feel, but what's behind the scenes is equally impressive. Their facilities go through annual HIGG Index evaluations, and they maintain a long list of certifications (including OCS, RCS, WRAP, Sedex, Smeta, SLCP, SCAN, and GSV). It's a lot of acronyms, but the takeaway is simple: the brand holds itself accountable. A few highlights worth knowing:
You don't have to memorize any of that - just know Bedhead is genuinely walking the walk when it comes to sustainability.
Clear details so you know exactly what you're getting
Each set includes thorough notes on materials, fit, inseam, sleeve length, and care instructions, which makes picking the right style pretty simple. Most pieces do best with gentle washing and low-heat drying, which helps preserve the softness of the organic cotton.
A premium price, but one that matches the experience
Most adult sets at Bedhead PJs fall into the $98 to $120 range (and kids' sets usually retail at $44), putting this pajama store squarely in the premium space. Luckily, the pajamas live up to that price. They're soft, well-constructed, beautifully printed, and they hold up after months (and years) of wear. Seasonal discounts sometimes pop up (like Black Friday sales of up to 44% off), but even at full price, Bedhead feels like a worthwhile investment in better sleep.
A return window that works for gifting
You get a standard 30-day return policy here, and the extended holiday window is especially helpful. Anything purchased between 11/1 and 12/25 can be returned through 1/31 of the following year, which takes a lot of pressure out of holiday shopping.
Customer feedback is glowing
Bedhead PJs continues to earn strong praise for its quality and comfort. Current reviews are overwhelmingly positive, and the brand maintains an "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau with no complaints filed there. Shoppers consistently mention the softness of the fabric, the vibrant prints, and the overall durability - all the things that help justify the higher price tag.
Our #1 pajama pick - with good reason
Bedhead PJs wraps everything we look for in a top-tier pajama brand into one cheerful, cozy package: sustainable materials, standout prints, inclusive sizing, great craftsmanship, and pajama sets that feel like a treat. Whether you're buying for yourself or wrapping up a pair as a gift for someone else, Bedhead PJs delivers comfort that feels a little elevated - and a lot more fun.
The Cat's Pajamas has always had a certain charm to it - that "I just treated myself and I regret nothing" energy that only really good sleepwear can give you. Founded in Berkeley back in 1998 and now operating out of sunny Santa Monica, this brand has spent decades perfecting what comfy looks and feels like. Their focus has always been on quality fabrics, fun or sophisticated prints, and small-"batch" craftsmanship. They still manufacture many styles in California, while their luxe Pima cotton pieces come from Peru, right where some of the world's softest, strongest cotton is grown. It's a thoughtful blend of sustainability, design, and next-level comfort - and honestly, that heart is still very much intact.
Women-focused, with room to browse your way
Most of what The Cat's Pajamas offers is made for women, and the website is set up to help you explore however you shop best. Know exactly what materials your comfiest PJs should be made of (like silk or flannel)? Click over to the By Fabric section in the dropdown. Need absolutely anything that will keep you cool at night? There's a whole section for short-sleeved sets when you click on By Style. And if you're shopping for seasonal designs, you can hop right into the Holiday Shop (think "Very Vintage Christmas" and "Angels Among Us" kinds of patterns). In terms of fit, their size range is solid (XS-3XL for most designs), though some of the most popular prints do sell out quickly in the larger sizes. It's worth checking back often.
Classic or quirky - you choose
A great place to dip your toes in is the Best Sellers section. That's where you'll find longtime favorites like the basic two-piece Pima Knit set that comes in sizes XS-3XL and regularly sells for $134. These consistently pull in near-perfect ratings, with hundreds of shoppers calling them their softest-ever pajamas. If you like your jammies to be in a classic pattern, you'll find these in stripes and dots across a range of colors. If bold is more your style, the brand's iconic novelty prints in other styles (like Flora Festiva and Moroccan Magic) are still going strong. (We even spotted bottoms with a sushi pattern.)
A small but appreciated selection for kids and men
While not a "family jammies" destination, The Cat's Pajamas does sprinkle in a few pieces for kids - especially in matching mommy-and-me styles like Dreamy Hearts and California Christmas - and a handful of cozy solids for men. If your household loves coordinated mornings, you may find a few PJ options that fit the bill, but the focus here is still very much on women's sleepwear.
The higher-end price tag shouldn't surprise you
Prices will vary based on the fabric and style you choose, but you'll generally see ranges from $60 for separates (like capris or pajama pants) to $134+ for sets made of Luxe Pima. You'll have to spend over $100 to get free shipping at The Cat's Pajamas, but honestly that's not very hard to do.
PJs should arrive fast, and you've got 30 days for returns
Once your order ships, most pajamas arrive quickly - many recent reviewers mention getting their sets within about a week. Returns follow a 30-day window (from the shipping date), and pajamas need to be unworn and in good condition. If you're exchanging for a different size or style, you get an instant store credit as soon as your return package is scanned in - a nice upgrade compared to many pajama retailers. Bonus points: The Cat's Pajamas gives an extended January 15th return deadline for orders placed in November and December. Either way, there's no cost for the return shipping - another perk we love.
Review trends: a little mixed, but the newest feedback shines
If you look at Trustpilot alone, The Cat's Pajamas sits at a 2.1-star average - and some of those older reviews are definitely rough. Complaints from pre-2023 shoppers mention shrinking, wrinkling, inconsistent sizing, and quality that didn't quite live up to the price tag. But here's the twist (and the reason our score for this pajama store has gone up to 4.5 stars since our last review): the most recent product-level feedback paints a very different picture. Across individual pajama listings on their site, you'll find tons of new 5-star reviews with comments like:
It's clear that quality and service have trended upward again, especially in their Luxe Pima and Pima Knit lines. Shoppers also note fast shipping, responsive customer service, and overall better consistency in the fabrics and fits.
A well-deserved high rating
If your goal is soft, well-made women's pajamas with personality, The Cat's Pajamas easily earns its upgraded 4.5-star rating. The fabrics feel premium, the prints are genuinely fun, and the Pima options in particular tend to last for years. No, this isn't the place to outfit your entire extended family in matching flannel - but if you're treating yourself or gifting someone special, The Cat's Pajamas delivers the kind of comfort that makes you say "okay, now I get the hype." Warm, stylish, and increasingly reliable again? That's a win in our book.
Petite Plume has always had an air of quiet luxury - the kind of pajama brand you turn to when you want something elegant without feeling showy, timeless without feeling old-fashioned. But what ultimately pushed this store into our top three this time has nothing to do with its reputation at Nordstrom or Bloomingdale's. It's the shift happening on its own website: product pages now include hundreds of verified customer reviews, and the feedback on their best-selling styles is almost shockingly positive. Combined with a founder backstory that reads like a movie script and a brand vision that hasn't wavered, Petite Plume feels more confident, more polished, and more shopper-friendly than ever.
Classic sophistication with a fresh dose of credibility
Petite Plume was founded by Emily Hikade - not your typical sleepwear entrepreneur. Before launching the brand, she was working undercover as a Counterterrorism Case Officer at the CIA while raising her growing family in East Africa. What started as a midnight passion project has now become a founder-owned, profitable company that sells a pair of its signature pajamas every 20 seconds and appears in more than 600 stores nationwide. The brand's recent growth has been explosive - a 76% year-over-year jump last year alone - but the real turning point for us is what's happening at the product level. You no longer have to guess whether these pajamas live up to the price tag, because the reviews tell the story.
The Olivia: a bestseller with nearly perfect ratings
Petite Plume's runaway hit is the Olivia Wide Leg Pima Pajama Set, and shoppers absolutely rave about it across over 500 reviews, averaging almost 5 stars. It comes in more than a dozen colors and prints - crisp solids like white and navy, plus stripes, florals, and soft dots. The cotton feels luxe and smooth, with that breathable Pima weight that drapes beautifully. The caveat? The Olivia only comes in XS-XL, which won't work for all shoppers. And because it's 100% cotton, Petite Plume is upfront about caring for it correctly: cold wash, no heat when drying, and expect 3-5% natural shrinkage.
A wider size range does exist - in select styles
If you want more inclusive sizing, the Brushed Twill Pajama Set (in several classic tartans) runs from XS-3X. It's not quite as beloved as the Olivia - about 20 reviews, averaging 4.2 stars - but the feedback is still solid, especially for shoppers who prefer a traditional flannel feel.
Matching done the Petite Plume way
Matching sets here are understated and intentional. On many pajama pages, you can scroll to "Match the Family" and find coordinating pieces for babies, toddlers, kids, and sometimes men. Some patterns match exactly, while others pair complementary designs - like Antique Red Ticking for gents matching Red Timeless Toile for women. If your dream holiday photo leans more "classic New England" than "chaotic pajama party," Petite Plume nails that aesthetic every time.
Pricing, promotions, and a loyalty program worth noting
Petite Plume has always been considered a luxury brand, but prices can be pleasantly reasonable depending on the style fabric. Adult pajamas typically range from $100 to $295, with many bestsellers sitting well below the high end of that range. Seasonal promos help too - during our visit, a 20% off sitewide discount automatically applied at checkout. Their loyalty program adds even more value. You earn points for purchases and referrals, and higher tiers (at $300 and $800+ per year) unlock perks like free standard shipping - which is usually only available on orders of $125+ - and birthday gifts.
Returns and exchanges: better than before, but not perfect
Exchanges within the US are always complimentary, which we love. Returns for a refund come with a $7 shipping fee, and you've only got a 14-day window to initiate them. That's still one of the shorter return periods in this category, and it remains our biggest (maybe only?) critique.
Customer feedback finally tells the full story
For years, Petite Plume's biggest drawback was the lack of shopper reviews. Now, with hundreds of product-level ratings on its most popular items - and overwhelmingly positive ones at that - the brand feels more trustworthy and transparent than it ever has. Shoppers call out the softness, craftsmanship, elegant prints, fast shipping, and responsive customer support. The recent flood of 5-star comments suggests the quality has remained consistent even as the brand doubled its revenue.
A refined brand earning its upgraded spot
With its improved website experience, highly-rated bestsellers, and unwavering focus on timeless design, Petite Plume comfortably earns its 4.3-star rating and a jump to #3 on our list. The pajamas are beautiful, the prints are classic, and the attention to quality shines through - especially in the Pima collections. If you want elevated, elegant sleepwear and appreciate fine details, Petite Plume is absolutely worth the splurge.
If your goal is adorable kids' pajamas that won't torpedo your budget, you're exactly the kind of shopper The Children's Place has always tried to serve. This is one of those brands that many families grew up with - the mall staple where you grabbed a pair of glittery leggings, a puffer coat your child insisted on wearing immediately, and yes, the matching holiday pajamas you didn't realize you'd cherish forever in photos. Founded back in 1969 and shaped by decades of evolving kids' fashion, The Children's Place (along with its sister brands Gymboree, Sugar & Jade, and PJ Place) has built a surprisingly deep legacy of family-friendly apparel. Their guiding principle has always been trust: you shop here expecting style, value, and durability, and they work hard to keep that promise.
Jammies for everyone - yes, everyone
Today, that legacy shows up in one very pajama-friendly way: choice. When you explore their sleepwear, you're looking at more than 300 pajama options across newborn sizes all the way up through adult XXXL. In other words, if your dream is to put everyone in peppermint stripes - the baby, the tween, the parent who swears they're "not doing matching pajamas this year," even the dog if you get creative - you're in the right place. They have classic prints, goofy prints, licensed characters like Bluey and Stitch, and the kind of cozy one-piece styles that always get rave reviews for winter mornings. And yes, if you're shopping for anything-but-holiday PJs, TCP has plenty to browse there too.
Easy to shop, easy to save
Shopping online at The Children's Place is refreshingly simple, which is something not every pajama retailer can say. You can filter by gender, size, color, or theme and actually find what you want. Most pajamas cost somewhere between $11.99-$67.95, but the truth is you should never pay full price here. TCP runs sales so often that you'll almost always see deep discounts - during our visit, we spotted adorable designs for as low as $6.99. If you want to save even more, the free My Place Rewards loyalty program pays out predictable perks: every $1 earns a point, every 100 points becomes $5 off, and the upper tiers offer early access to sales and little VIP extras.
Matchy-matchy family designs from "Merry Christmas" to "Feliz Navidad"
The brand also deserves credit for inclusivity, not just in sizing but in design. Their family matching collection includes more than 143 coordinating styles - and even cultural touches like a "Feliz Navidad" print you won't find everywhere.
Orders over $30 ship free, all orders qualify for no-cost in-store pickup
One major convenience is the shipping policy. You get free standard shipping at just $30, an unusually low minimum compared to the other pajama shops we reviewed. And with nearly 500 stores across North America, toggling "Free Pick Up Tomorrow" can be a lifesaver when you need last-minute pajamas for spirit week, pajama day at daycare, or that inevitable "my kid grew an inch overnight" situation. That said, we did see more than a few Trustpilot reviews mentioning packages that never arrived - which makes local pickup the safer move when you're in a pinch.
Family-friendly return window of 45 days
Quality-wise, The Children's Place is pretty dependable for the price. Not every pajama set includes customer reviews, but the ones that do tend to sit at 4 stars or higher, especially in the most-loved styles. Parents are candid (sometimes hilariously so) about whether the fit runs small, whether the zipper is sturdy, or whether the fleece is soft enough for sensory-sensitive kids. And when something doesn't work out, you've got a 45-day return window - just keep the original tags on and hang onto your receipt. Clearance and final-sale items can't be returned, so shop those deals with care.
Best store for everyday jammies for kids and their matching grown-ups
Because The Children's Place is so laser-focused on kids (and matchy parents), it won't be the place where most adults shop for everyday sleepwear for themselves. But for family pajamas, holiday sets, character-themed favorites, and budget-friendly options that still look great, it's hands-down the strongest affordable pick on our list. Combined with an "A+" BBB rating, it all adds up to a retailer that delivers genuinely good value for families who want fun, cute pajamas without overspending. That's why The Children's Place earns an enthusiastic rating of 4 stars.
Big Feet PJs is one of those brands you can't help but root for - even if their specialty isn't everyone's cup of cocoa. Founded in 2005 in Port Orchard, Washington, the company has built a reputation on one thing and one thing only: unapologetically cozy (mostly) footed onesies for adults, kids, and anyone who misses the days of zipping into pajamas that covered you from shoulders to toes. They're the brand that proudly brought the drop seat (yes, the famous butt flap) back into the cultural conversation. If you've seen an adult onesie on Broadway, on TV, in a viral video, or on the Instagram feed of a random celebrity, there's a very good chance it came from Big Feet PJs.
Cozy up with 75 different options
The company isn't just a novelty act, either. They manufacture their own sleepwear across more than 75 PJs to choose from in a range of prints, colors, and fabrics - from gray cotton union suits to red jersey knit onesies to pink camouflage fleece. Their pajamas show up in boutiques and stores throughout the US, Canada, the UK, Europe, and Australia, and their online shop is still the easiest place to browse everything in one spot. Whether you want a simple solid pattern, a traditional buffalo plaid, or something off-the-wall enough to embarrass your entire friend group, Big Feet PJs has a pretty strong grasp on the cozy-meets-quirky lane.
A go-to destination for grownup onesie lovers
Let's be clear: Big Feet PJs is not your typical pajama store, which is exactly why some people love it. If you're planning a themed friend photo, a goofy holiday card, a cabin weekend, or a group gag gift exchange, onesies are practically mandatory - and Big Feet is one of the few places you can find them year-round. When most big-box stores only carry adult footed pajamas around December (and only in a handful of prints), Big Feet keeps the category alive no matter the month. With respect to sizing, they don't divide styles by men's or women's sections; everything is simply "adult," which makes shopping straightforward. But don't expect hundreds of choices here. During our review, we saw 30 adult styles, including camouflage footed onesies, "Chocolate and Hearts" footless fleece, and even gray hoodie jumpsuits. Pricing is also pretty simple, with most styles landing between $48.99 and $59.99. And, all US orders ship free, which is always nice - in addition to the coupon code "EXTRA10" we spotted at the top of the page, so check if there's a discount in place when you visit.
Family matching options, with a few limitations
Matching pajamas are very doable here - kids' and baby versions exist for most of the standard patterns - but adults with broader size needs might find the range a little restrictive. Big Feet PJs estimates their sizing to fit up to around 6'3" and 230 lbs. Beyond that, options get dicey. There are plus-size onesies available on the market, but Big Feet PJs isn't the place to find them just yet. Still, if you want everyone in the family wearing the same red-and-black flannel onesie (or the same silly novelty print), you'll probably be able to make it work. You can even grab something for your pet, depending on the collection.
Easy returns, especially around the holidays
Big Feet PJs offers 30-day refunds and 45-day exchanges, with a holiday window that extends returns for purchases made between November 20 and December 24. You do pay return shipping, but as long as the pajamas are unworn and unwashed, your refund should be straightforward.
Reputation is solid, but recent feedback is sparse
Big Feet PJs continues to hold an "A+" rating with the Better Business Bureau, and there are zero complaints filed there - a strong sign that when issues arise, they get resolved quickly. But, most of this pajama store's feedback is older and less abundant. Trustpilot's most recent reviews date back to 2021, so it's hard to get a sense of long-term durability or whether today's buyers are just as happy. Even the 1,000+ reviews that Big Feet PJs used to display on their own site have disappeared. Their social media activity, however, is very recent - posts within the last few days leading up to our review - so the company is clearly active and shipping.
A fun brand - but still a niche one
At the end of the day, Big Feet PJs knows exactly who they are: the king of the adult onesie. If you're shopping for classic pajama sets, cooling fabrics, or minimalist loungewear, you probably won't find what you're looking for. But if the idea of zipping yourself into a warm, flamboyant footed onesie makes you laugh - or makes you way more excited than you expected - this is one of the best places to get one. You won't find the biggest selection, the most modern sizing, or the newest wave of customer reviews, which keeps the score on the "just average" side for us. Still, Big Feet PJs is a fun, dependable shop for a specific kind of pajama lover, and if onesies are your vibe, you'll feel right at home here.
LAKE Pajamas has a charming origin story: founded by longtime friends Cassandra Cannon and Anne Read Lattimore, the brand grew out of their quest for pajamas that felt both timeless and truly comfortable. What started in Savannah back in 2014 quickly gained traction - first online, then through glowing features in places like Forbes, Town & Country, Vogue, and The Wall Street Journal. LAKE eventually grew its brick-and-mortar presence, too, with stores now in Atlanta, Charleston, Charlotte, Southampton, and Palm Beach. On paper, it sounds like the kind of brand you'd expect to deliver a premium, stress-free pajama experience. But once you start shopping, things get a little less dreamy.
Solid selection of luxe PJs
LAKE offers pajamas for women, men, kids, and babies, along with a growing lineup of casual apparel that sometimes blurs the line between sleepwear and daywear. To keep comparisons consistent across all pajama retailers, we focused on the women's collection and their family-matching options. At the time of our review, there were 62 women's pajama styles (including maternity). The variety spans fabrics, lengths, and silhouettes, but you'll want to use the filters if you're trying to avoid sorting through dresses, sweaters, and other non-PJ categories that sometimes mix into the results. One important limitation: sizing only goes up to a women's XXL (approximately size 18). If you need plus-size options, LAKE simply doesn't offer them.
Family sets require a DIY approach
If you love the convenience of pre-bundled family pajama sets, LAKE isn't the easiest place to shop. Rather than offering grouped listings where you can select each family member's size in one place, you'll usually be building your own set piece by piece. Themes and seasonal prints can help guide you - click on the Holly Jolly jammies for women and then scroll down to see the baby sleeper or kids' long-long set in the same pattern, for instance - but expect to spend time navigating back and forth and double-checking what's actually offered in sizes/styles for the whole family.
Availability is better than before
In our previous evaluation of LAKE, we encountered lots of issues with sizing availability. Fortunately, during this visit, we only found a handful of patterns and sizes that weren't in stock.
Premium pricing comes with premium brand
LAKE's prices lean high, as expected for a cotton-focused boutique brand. You can expect to pay around $48 for a kids' shorts set or $88 for a women's pima tank gown, with full pajama sets like the DreamModal Kimono Pants Bundle offered at $168. The site offers free shipping on orders over $75 - something most shoppers will hit without trying.
Returns: decent, but with caveats
LAKE offers a standard 30-day return policy, with one nice seasonal perk: items purchased between November 15 and December 15 can be returned through January 15. However, anything marked down is automatically eligible for store credit only. Refund returns come with a $7 shipping fee, though exchanges and store-credit returns are free. And like most other pajama brands, returns must be unworn, unwashed, and in good condition.
A note on fabric care
LAKE is upfront about the fact that 100% cotton shrinks - which is true. They recommend avoiding the dryer altogether, washing on delicate in cold water, laying pieces flat to dry, and treating your pajamas as delicate garments rather than tossing them in with towels or jeans. They also suggest sizing up if you're between sizes. Even with these instructions, many customers report shrinkage or fabric changes, which brings us to the biggest issue.
Customer feedback remains overwhelmingly negative
While the store's Better Business Bureau rating has improved since our last visit to LAKE, going from a rock-bottom "F" to a close-to-perfect "A-", customer sentiment elsewhere hasn't followed. Across Trustpilot, Yelp, and other review platforms, complaints remain consistent: pajamas shrinking dramatically even with careful washing, fabric discoloration, premature wear, and customer service that's hard to reach and slow to respond (or cranky when they do). That's especially surprising for a premium-priced brand with such strong editorial buzz.
Still not a pajama store we can confidently recommend
LAKE Pajamas has a beautiful brand story, lovely marketing, and a devoted fan base - but in practice, it's hard to overlook the ongoing issues with quality and customer service. The styles are attractive, and the cotton is undeniably soft at first touch, but too many shoppers are disappointed with how their pieces hold up and how difficult it can be to get support when something goes wrong. Given the better-performing (and often less expensive) alternatives available, LAKE still ranks low on our list of pajama stores. Feel free to shop here if you love the aesthetic and don't mind the extra laundry care, but for most people, there are better options elsewhere.
Who is PajamaMania? Great question. "Fast fashion" is definitely a phrase that will come to mind as you browse this storefront's extremely limited selection of pajamas.
Where do the pajamas come from?
The company seems to source its sleepwear from a variety of brands: you'll notice pretty early on that some are listed as coming from PajamaMania itself, while others go to different online stores (like Sleepyheads) once you click on them. Beyond that, it's hard to say who exactly is behind PajamaMania. But, let's take a look at what was offered at the time of our review, and you can decide for yourself.
Just 3 kinds of pajamas to choose from
When you first land on the PajamaMania storefront, you'll see just three categories of sleepwear: Winter Pajamas, Robes & Wraps, and Lightweight Pajamas. Before you get too excited, though, be aware that there's not much to choose from in any of those pajama types. For example, winter options include fleece pajama pants, a fleece long-sleeve PJ set, and flannel button-down PJ sets... and that's it. We were glad to see that those were offered in a decent range of sizes (XS-2X) and patterns (cranberry star, red plaid), and that there wasn't anything over $35. The Robes & Wraps category only had two items - both look like wraps, but were described as a "sherpa-lined hooded bathrobe", and those were fulfilled by the Sleepyheads store. Finally, in the Lightweight Pajamas category, we found a semi-random collection of tie-dye, a family matching set of bear-themed jammies ("Mama Bear", "Bear Cub", and "Cousin Crew"), and two short-sleeved options in more traditional patterns and styles.
A few upsides
Are you getting the impression that PajamaMania isn't exactly our favorite place to shop for PJs? You'd be right - but there are still some positives we can point out. First off, price: as we mentioned earlier, there's really nothing here that's going to set you back on your jammies budget. Next, some of the pajamas in this online store have a lot of positive reviews; for example, the poplin cotton short sleeve button-up top had over 1,500 ratings at the time of our visit, and they averaged a very respectable 4.4 stars out of five. Granted, those were offered as a Sleepyheads product, and that brand was having some pretty dire inventory issues (almost everything was showing up as "currently not available"), but it's safe to say that at least some pajamas sold via PajamaMania have been a big hit. Plus, most customers here get free shipping. Finally, most of the PJs we looked at had a free refund/replacement policy in place - and that extended to nearly 3 months from the date of purchase.
Just not enough to get excited about
Whatever you're looking for in pajamas, PajamaMania is not very likely to have it. Tons of matchy-matchy family jammies? Nope. Bamboo to keep you cool or thermals to keep you toasty? Keep looking. About the only reason to shop here is if you're hoping not to spend very much on your PJs: in that regard, PajamaMania can help out, as long as there's actually something in their limited inventory you like. Realistically speaking, most shoppers will need to look elsewhere for pajamas, because this store comes up short in almost every way.
PajamaGram used to be one of those names people recognized instantly - the kind of place you'd choose when you wanted to send someone a cozy surprise with a cute presentation. But things have taken a sharp turn lately, and not in a "just had an off-season" sort of way. We're talking about the kind of consistent, across-the-board problems that make you step back and wonder what on earth is going on behind the scenes. Yes, the website still looks inviting. And yes, you'll still see plenty of pajama styles that look fun or giftable - everything from the shearling rollneck style that PajamaGram made famous to Christmas dogs in flannel. But the surface-level charm is pretty much where the good news ends these days (likely due to the brand having been split off from its previous parent company, The Vermont Teddy Bear Company, back in April 2024).
A big selection that might get you excited for bedtime - if your size is in stock
PajamaGram still offers a wide range of over 800 pajamas for women, men, kids, and even pets. You can browse tons of options by style or fabric, scroll through seasonal themes, and put together matching sets without much effort. We peeked at the best-selling pajamas in the women's section to get a feel for what PajamaGram sells the most - and that would be the Consciously Cozy Button-Front style ($99.99), the Chalet Shearling Rollneck Pajamas (starting at $41.99), and the Naturally Nude Pajamas ($94.99). But, while sizing here is generous in theory (XS-3X in women's, for example), there were quite a few that weren't in stock; on the Consciously Cozy PJs, none of the three available colors were in stock for sizes 2X and 3X.
Matching sets have been their signature
Over the years, PajamaGram's matching sets have been a solid go-to. Family PJs, couples PJs, Pet & Owner photoshoot jammies, you name it - they made coordinated photos and traditions easy. It's also a lot smoother to shop for matchy-matchy PJs here than on many of PajamaGram's rivals' sites: go right to the Matching Family section and choose whether you're trying to do a whole family, dogs and cats, couples, and so on. Always on the hunt for a bargain, we clicked on the DAILY DEAL section in the matching category and were excited to see one pattern discounted by 50%: we could get the Snowfall Plaid Flannel starting at $12.99 for pets, $20 for infant sizes, and $32.49 for adult sizes.
Shipping won't "wow" you...
PajamaGram isn't jumping on the "spend X, get free shipping" bandwagon. Your delivery costs are based on your order total, so expect to pay anywhere from $9.99 to $19.99 for standard, $27.99 to $34.99 for rush, and $32.99 to $39.99 for Saturday delivery.
...but the "Love-It Guarantee" looks great (on paper)
We were pretty excited to see that PajamaGram's "Love-It Guarantee" is still in place. You've got 60 days (from the purchase date, not the delivery date) to request a refund "for a small fee". You also have 90 days to request an exchange, or 120 days to make returns for store credit. PajamaGram also gives you until January 31st to make returns on orders placed from October 1st through November 30th.
Customer service has become the story - and not in a good way
PajamaGram now holds its own BBB rating, and unfortunately it's an "F". That rating isn't theoretical either: more than 80 complaints have been filed, and the company hasn't responded to the majority of them. That silence pretty much mirrors what people are experiencing elsewhere: calls that don't go through, emails that sit unanswered for weeks, and "support" that seems to consist of copy-and-paste replies - when replies happen at all. Even the cutest matching designs won't save you if half the items arrive in the wrong size, show up looking worn, or never make it to your doorstep - which is what you'll see in PajamaGram's reviews across Yelp, Trustpilot, and Google, where they tend to average less than 2 stars out of 5. More and more shoppers aren't seeing their orders arrive on time - or at all. Holidays, birthdays, anniversaries... you name it, there are fresh reviews from customers whose special plans got derailed because their pajamas simply never shipped or arrived weeks after the promised date. So much for that "guarantee"...
We wish this review had gone differently
PajamaGram has the bones of a cute, giftable pajama store. The branding is still charming, and the selection could genuinely be fun if everything worked the way it's supposed to. But between unreliable shipping, major quality complaints, and customer service issues that countless reviewers call "the worst they've ever experienced," it's hard to recommend this store anymore. We'll leave a small amount of room for improvement in the future - companies can turn things around - but as it stands today, PajamaGram lands at a disappointing 1.5 stars. Try one of the higher-rated pajama stores on our list instead.
Continued from above...
There's something undeniably comforting about slipping into a pair of pajamas that feel just right, and if you're honest, you probably have a couple of favorites you reach for far more often than the rest. Pajamas may seem simple, but they've actually traveled a long, curious journey through history to get to your dresser drawer.
The word "pajama" comes from "pae jama," a term from Persian and Hindustani meaning "leg clothing," and the style was adopted into Western fashion in the 1800's as a cooler, more comfortable alternative to stiff nightshirts. Over the decades pajamas became more than sleepwear - they turned into a symbol of leisure, relaxation, and, in recent years, an entire lifestyle category. (You've probably seen the matching family sets. Maybe you've even worn them. No judgment.)
Today's pajama trends prove that comfort doesn't have to be boring. You've got buttery-soft bamboo sets for hot sleepers, flannel classics for chilly nights, gender-neutral silhouettes, rompers, luxe satin, organic cotton loungewear you could wear on a video call without raising eyebrows, and color-coordinated sets designed specifically for holiday cards. You'll even find "cooling" fabrics that wick moisture, PJs with hidden pockets, and limited-edition prints so playful you almost feel guilty going straight to bed. Almost.
But the real transformation in pajama shopping has happened online. Instead of wandering through racks, trying to guess whether something will shrink, fade, or feel scratchy, you can browse dozens of brands from the comfort of your actual pajamas. Shopping online lets you compare fabrics, check size guides, read thousands of real-world reviews, and look for sales that brick-and-mortar stores simply can't match.
You also get access to niche and specialty brands you'd never find locally - whether you're hunting for all-natural fibers, inclusive sizing, matching sets for the whole family, or simply a pair of dependable cotton bottoms that won't fall apart after three washes. And when you're shopping online, you can take your time. There's no one hovering nearby asking if you "need another size," and no fluorescent lighting convincing you that you look tired.
Of course, with so many pajama stores popping up online, choosing where to shop can feel surprisingly complicated. Some brands lean heavily into luxury marketing, some are known for bargains, and others have fantastic fabrics but questionable return policies. That's why it helps to have a few simple criteria in mind when you're deciding where to buy your next cozy set. Here's what to look for in a pajama store:
With those criteria in mind, Top Consumer Reviews has already done the digging for you, comparing some of today's most popular pajama stores so you can shop with confidence - and stay as cozy as possible while doing it!
