Lake Pajamas got its start in Savannah, Georgia, back in 2014. Their collection originated with a classic striped style in 100% Peruvian Pima Cotton and has expanded to include premium fabrics in pajama styles for men, women, and children. You can shop Lake Pajamas at their stores in Atlanta and Charleston, or, of course, take advantage of their broadest selection at their online storefront.
Pajamas for the whole family
You'll find a broad selection of pajamas here, with options for everyone from babies to bros. To compare apples-to-apples across PJ stores, we took a look at the women's collection and family sets. There were about 60 options for women, ranging from short sets to nighties and everything in between, including maternity styles. Just be aware that as Lake Pajamas has branched out into more than just sleepwear, you'll see dresses and sweaters in there too. Try using the filters if you've got a preference for color, fabric, length, or size (from XXS to XXL).
Expect to pay at least $50
On the low end of the price spectrum, we spotted a plain white sleep tee for $56 and pajama boxers for $68. The first "complete” pajama items we found were tank-style nightgowns in Pointelle or Pima for $78; on the high end of the price range, Lake Pajamas offered a 3-piece sleep set (top, shorts, pants) for about $150. You could save 10% on your first order. Look for the offer as you browse the Lake Pajamas website and click on "redeem offer” to enter your email address and then either apply it to your current shopping cart or save it for a later purchase.
Sizes and colors are often out of stock
As you browse, it's easy to see which options come in multiple colors. But, inventory can be pretty limited when you click on something you like: for example, that Pima tank nightie we mentioned was only available in Parisian Green (with Hydrangea showing as out of stock), and all sizes except XXS were sold out. That seemed to hold true even in some of the kids' pajamas we peeked at: larger sizes weren't available in any of the colors for the Kids Long-Long Set, for instance.
No pajamas grouped into sets
Lake Pajamas really doesn't specialize in PJ sets for the whole family, either. You could mix-and-match (which is made a little easier within some of the themes that might be featured, like Summer Vibes or Valentine's Day), but you'll have to spend some time clicking through the site and hoping what catches your eye is in stock for all of the members of your family.
Sale-price pajamas don't qualify for refunds
Lake doesn't have the most generous return policy we've ever seen. You'll get the industry-standard 30-day window, but anything that was bought on sale will automatically be "store credit only”, not eligible for a refund. You'll pay $7 in return shipping fees on refund returns, and $5 if it's for an exchange. And, like most pajama stores, Lake insists that returns be unworn and unwashed to qualify for an exchange or a refund.
Not much love from customers
In terms of reputation, Lake Pajamas surprised us by having an "F” rating from the Better Business Bureau. The retailer failed to respond to three complaints, out of a total of 16 filed over the last three years (and 13 of those came within the most recent 12-month period). That got us wondering what shoppers were saying in other places, and unfortunately, the consensus is not good. From Yelp to Trustpilot and everywhere else we looked, we found complaint after complaint about pajamas that shrank to the point of being unwearable (despite following washing instructions to a "T”), unexplained discoloration of the fabric, and nothing even remotely resembling a helpful response from Lake Pajamas' customer representatives (who, incidentally, are only available during business hours Monday through Thursday, and from 9A-1P on Fridays).
We don't recommend this pajama store
So, let's recap: Lake Pajamas' variety? Decent. Pricing? Spendy, but on par with many higher-end pajama stores. Availability? Meh. Quality? Not great. Customer service? Definitely not good. You can find better options with Lake Pajamas' rivals on our list, and unfortunately we can't give this pajama store a higher rating.
Picture this: it's the end of a long day, you've tucked yourself into bed, and what's the icing on the relaxation cake? Pajamas! Ah yes, those cozy, comfy, and sometimes downright quirky clothes that can make bedtime feel like a luxurious affair.

The history of pajamas is a fascinating journey through time, taking us back to ancient civilizations like the Egyptians and Indians who draped themselves in loose-fitting garments for sleep. Fast forward to the 17th and 18th centuries, pajamas became all the rage in the West, thanks to the influence of exotic Eastern cultures. These early versions were more like loose trousers and jackets, often made from silk or cotton, and were reserved for the elite.
Nowadays, pajamas come in all shapes, sizes, and styles, catering to every taste and preference imaginable. There are classic button-up sets for those who like to keep it timeless, cozy fleece onesies for the perpetual kids-at-heart, and silky slips for those who prefer a touch of elegance even in dreamland. Let's not forget about the novelty pajamas adorned with everything from cartoon characters to punny phrases, perfect for adding a splash of whimsy to your bedtime routine.
One of the best things about pajamas in the modern age is the ease of finding the perfect pair with just a few clicks.
