Where is the best place to buy pajamas?  There's something undeniably comforting about slipping into a pair of pajamas that feel just right, and if you're honest, you probably have a couple of favorites you reach for far more often than the rest. Pajamas may seem simple, but they've actually traveled a long, curious journey through history to get to your dresser drawer.
PajamaGram used to be one of those names people recognized instantly - the kind of place you'd choose when you wanted to send someone a cozy surprise with a cute presentation. But things have taken a sharp turn lately, and not in a "just had an off-season" sort of way. We're talking about the kind of consistent, across-the-board problems that make you step back and wonder what on earth is going on behind the scenes. Yes, the website still looks inviting. And yes, you'll still see plenty of pajama styles that look fun or giftable - everything from the shearling rollneck style that PajamaGram made famous to Christmas dogs in flannel. But the surface-level charm is pretty much where the good news ends these days (likely due to the brand having been split off from its previous parent company, The Vermont Teddy Bear Company, back in April 2024).
A big selection that might get you excited for bedtime - if your size is in stock
PajamaGram still offers a wide range of over 800 pajamas for women, men, kids, and even pets. You can browse tons of options by style or fabric, scroll through seasonal themes, and put together matching sets without much effort. We peeked at the best-selling pajamas in the women's section to get a feel for what PajamaGram sells the most - and that would be the Consciously Cozy Button-Front style ($99.99), the Chalet Shearling Rollneck Pajamas (starting at $41.99), and the Naturally Nude Pajamas ($94.99). But, while sizing here is generous in theory (XS-3X in women's, for example), there were quite a few that weren't in stock; on the Consciously Cozy PJs, none of the three available colors were in stock for sizes 2X and 3X.
Matching sets have been their signature
Over the years, PajamaGram's matching sets have been a solid go-to. Family PJs, couples PJs, Pet & Owner photoshoot jammies, you name it - they made coordinated photos and traditions easy. It's also a lot smoother to shop for matchy-matchy PJs here than on many of PajamaGram's rivals' sites: go right to the Matching Family section and choose whether you're trying to do a whole family, dogs and cats, couples, and so on. Always on the hunt for a bargain, we clicked on the DAILY DEAL section in the matching category and were excited to see one pattern discounted by 50%: we could get the Snowfall Plaid Flannel starting at $12.99 for pets, $20 for infant sizes, and $32.49 for adult sizes.
Shipping won't "wow" you...
PajamaGram isn't jumping on the "spend X, get free shipping" bandwagon. Your delivery costs are based on your order total, so expect to pay anywhere from $9.99 to $19.99 for standard, $27.99 to $34.99 for rush, and $32.99 to $39.99 for Saturday delivery.
...but the "Love-It Guarantee" looks great (on paper)
We were pretty excited to see that PajamaGram's "Love-It Guarantee" is still in place. You've got 60 days (from the purchase date, not the delivery date) to request a refund "for a small fee". You also have 90 days to request an exchange, or 120 days to make returns for store credit. PajamaGram also gives you until January 31st to make returns on orders placed from October 1st through November 30th.
Customer service has become the story - and not in a good way
PajamaGram now holds its own BBB rating, and unfortunately it's an "F". That rating isn't theoretical either: more than 80 complaints have been filed, and the company hasn't responded to the majority of them. That silence pretty much mirrors what people are experiencing elsewhere: calls that don't go through, emails that sit unanswered for weeks, and "support" that seems to consist of copy-and-paste replies - when replies happen at all. Even the cutest matching designs won't save you if half the items arrive in the wrong size, show up looking worn, or never make it to your doorstep - which is what you'll see in PajamaGram's reviews across Yelp, Trustpilot, and Google, where they tend to average less than 2 stars out of 5. More and more shoppers aren't seeing their orders arrive on time - or at all. Holidays, birthdays, anniversaries... you name it, there are fresh reviews from customers whose special plans got derailed because their pajamas simply never shipped or arrived weeks after the promised date. So much for that "guarantee"...
We wish this review had gone differently
PajamaGram has the bones of a cute, giftable pajama store. The branding is still charming, and the selection could genuinely be fun if everything worked the way it's supposed to. But between unreliable shipping, major quality complaints, and customer service issues that countless reviewers call "the worst they've ever experienced," it's hard to recommend this store anymore. We'll leave a small amount of room for improvement in the future - companies can turn things around - but as it stands today, PajamaGram lands at a disappointing 1.5 stars. Try one of the higher-rated pajama stores on our list instead.
Continued from above...
There's something undeniably comforting about slipping into a pair of pajamas that feel just right, and if you're honest, you probably have a couple of favorites you reach for far more often than the rest. Pajamas may seem simple, but they've actually traveled a long, curious journey through history to get to your dresser drawer.
The word "pajama" comes from "pae jama," a term from Persian and Hindustani meaning "leg clothing," and the style was adopted into Western fashion in the 1800's as a cooler, more comfortable alternative to stiff nightshirts. Over the decades pajamas became more than sleepwear - they turned into a symbol of leisure, relaxation, and, in recent years, an entire lifestyle category. (You've probably seen the matching family sets. Maybe you've even worn them. No judgment.)
Today's pajama trends prove that comfort doesn't have to be boring. You've got buttery-soft bamboo sets for hot sleepers, flannel classics for chilly nights, gender-neutral silhouettes, rompers, luxe satin, organic cotton loungewear you could wear on a video call without raising eyebrows, and color-coordinated sets designed specifically for holiday cards. You'll even find "cooling" fabrics that wick moisture, PJs with hidden pockets, and limited-edition prints so playful you almost feel guilty going straight to bed. Almost.
But the real transformation in pajama shopping has happened online. Instead of wandering through racks, trying to guess whether something will shrink, fade, or feel scratchy, you can browse dozens of brands from the comfort of your actual pajamas. Shopping online lets you compare fabrics, check size guides, read thousands of real-world reviews, and look for sales that brick-and-mortar stores simply can't match.
You also get access to niche and specialty brands you'd never find locally - whether you're hunting for all-natural fibers, inclusive sizing, matching sets for the whole family, or simply a pair of dependable cotton bottoms that won't fall apart after three washes. And when you're shopping online, you can take your time. There's no one hovering nearby asking if you "need another size," and no fluorescent lighting convincing you that you look tired.
Of course, with so many pajama stores popping up online, choosing where to shop can feel surprisingly complicated. Some brands lean heavily into luxury marketing, some are known for bargains, and others have fantastic fabrics but questionable return policies. That's why it helps to have a few simple criteria in mind when you're deciding where to buy your next cozy set. Here's what to look for in a pajama store:
