Where is the best place to buy pajamas?  There's something undeniably comforting about slipping into a pair of pajamas that feel just right, and if you're honest, you probably have a couple of favorites you reach for far more often than the rest. Pajamas may seem simple, but they've actually traveled a long, curious journey through history to get to your dresser drawer.
Who is PajamaMania? Great question. "Fast fashion" is definitely a phrase that will come to mind as you browse this storefront's extremely limited selection of pajamas.
Where do the pajamas come from?
The company seems to source its sleepwear from a variety of brands: you'll notice pretty early on that some are listed as coming from PajamaMania itself, while others go to different online stores (like Sleepyheads) once you click on them. Beyond that, it's hard to say who exactly is behind PajamaMania. But, let's take a look at what was offered at the time of our review, and you can decide for yourself.
Just 3 kinds of pajamas to choose from
When you first land on the PajamaMania storefront, you'll see just three categories of sleepwear: Winter Pajamas, Robes & Wraps, and Lightweight Pajamas. Before you get too excited, though, be aware that there's not much to choose from in any of those pajama types. For example, winter options include fleece pajama pants, a fleece long-sleeve PJ set, and flannel button-down PJ sets... and that's it. We were glad to see that those were offered in a decent range of sizes (XS-2X) and patterns (cranberry star, red plaid), and that there wasn't anything over $35. The Robes & Wraps category only had two items - both look like wraps, but were described as a "sherpa-lined hooded bathrobe", and those were fulfilled by the Sleepyheads store. Finally, in the Lightweight Pajamas category, we found a semi-random collection of tie-dye, a family matching set of bear-themed jammies ("Mama Bear", "Bear Cub", and "Cousin Crew"), and two short-sleeved options in more traditional patterns and styles.
A few upsides
Are you getting the impression that PajamaMania isn't exactly our favorite place to shop for PJs? You'd be right - but there are still some positives we can point out. First off, price: as we mentioned earlier, there's really nothing here that's going to set you back on your jammies budget. Next, some of the pajamas in this online store have a lot of positive reviews; for example, the poplin cotton short sleeve button-up top had over 1,500 ratings at the time of our visit, and they averaged a very respectable 4.4 stars out of five. Granted, those were offered as a Sleepyheads product, and that brand was having some pretty dire inventory issues (almost everything was showing up as "currently not available"), but it's safe to say that at least some pajamas sold via PajamaMania have been a big hit. Plus, most customers here get free shipping. Finally, most of the PJs we looked at had a free refund/replacement policy in place - and that extended to nearly 3 months from the date of purchase.
Just not enough to get excited about
Whatever you're looking for in pajamas, PajamaMania is not very likely to have it. Tons of matchy-matchy family jammies? Nope. Bamboo to keep you cool or thermals to keep you toasty? Keep looking. About the only reason to shop here is if you're hoping not to spend very much on your PJs: in that regard, PajamaMania can help out, as long as there's actually something in their limited inventory you like. Realistically speaking, most shoppers will need to look elsewhere for pajamas, because this store comes up short in almost every way.
Continued from above...
There's something undeniably comforting about slipping into a pair of pajamas that feel just right, and if you're honest, you probably have a couple of favorites you reach for far more often than the rest. Pajamas may seem simple, but they've actually traveled a long, curious journey through history to get to your dresser drawer.
The word "pajama" comes from "pae jama," a term from Persian and Hindustani meaning "leg clothing," and the style was adopted into Western fashion in the 1800's as a cooler, more comfortable alternative to stiff nightshirts. Over the decades pajamas became more than sleepwear - they turned into a symbol of leisure, relaxation, and, in recent years, an entire lifestyle category. (You've probably seen the matching family sets. Maybe you've even worn them. No judgment.)
Today's pajama trends prove that comfort doesn't have to be boring. You've got buttery-soft bamboo sets for hot sleepers, flannel classics for chilly nights, gender-neutral silhouettes, rompers, luxe satin, organic cotton loungewear you could wear on a video call without raising eyebrows, and color-coordinated sets designed specifically for holiday cards. You'll even find "cooling" fabrics that wick moisture, PJs with hidden pockets, and limited-edition prints so playful you almost feel guilty going straight to bed. Almost.
But the real transformation in pajama shopping has happened online. Instead of wandering through racks, trying to guess whether something will shrink, fade, or feel scratchy, you can browse dozens of brands from the comfort of your actual pajamas. Shopping online lets you compare fabrics, check size guides, read thousands of real-world reviews, and look for sales that brick-and-mortar stores simply can't match.
You also get access to niche and specialty brands you'd never find locally - whether you're hunting for all-natural fibers, inclusive sizing, matching sets for the whole family, or simply a pair of dependable cotton bottoms that won't fall apart after three washes. And when you're shopping online, you can take your time. There's no one hovering nearby asking if you "need another size," and no fluorescent lighting convincing you that you look tired.
Of course, with so many pajama stores popping up online, choosing where to shop can feel surprisingly complicated. Some brands lean heavily into luxury marketing, some are known for bargains, and others have fantastic fabrics but questionable return policies. That's why it helps to have a few simple criteria in mind when you're deciding where to buy your next cozy set. Here's what to look for in a pajama store:
