Winner

Southern Baked Pie Company

  • Starting at $198.95
  • 3, 6, or 12-month subscriptions
  • Sweet and savory pies

Southern Baked Pie Company is a winner as far as flavor diversity goes. Their sweet and savory pies make a delicious treat or cozy dinner. They also have gluten-free options, which we've rarely found. Subscriptions include 1 pie per month for either 3, 6, or 12 months. Pies are highly rated, but the cost is more than some other places, plus you may spend around $40 on shipping alone. This was the major kicker for us with this company, but otherwise it's a perfect option for a pie club.

Three Babes Bakeshop

  • Starting at $37.50 per pie
  • 3, 6, or 12 month subscription
  • Organic, local ingredients

Three Babes Bakeshop is based out of San Francisco, California with options to pick up pies from their storefront, ship them locally, or send nut pies nationwide. If you do a subscription here, you'll only get nut pie varieties if you live outside of San Francisco. They do have gluten-free and vegan pies, but again, these are really only accessible to those who live close by. Three Babes Bakeshop uses fresh, organic ingredients, so it's a high-quality option, but we are disappointed that they aren't really available to everyone, so they've earned our lowest ranking among pie clubs.

Pie has become the dessert we return to again and again throughout the year - blueberry on the Fourth of July, pumpkin at Thanksgiving, apple come Christmas. It's practically the unofficial mascot of our holidays, but there's no rule that says you have to wait for a special occasion to slice into one. In fact, a warm pie on an ordinary weeknight can turn the simplest dinner into something worth lingering over.

Join a pie club and get pies delivered on a regular schedule - enjoy them right away or pop them in the freezer for later. You choose how long the plan lasts and how often boxes arrive, and in some cases you can even pick the flavor each month. Most subscriptions run 3, 6, 9, or 12 months, while others keep going indefinitely until you cancel. It also makes a thoughtful gift for anyone who loves dessert.

Some bakeries publish their flavor lineup for the year, while others keep things mysterious and surprise you with each order. If you'd rather sample before committing, many will also sell single pies so you can try a one-off flavor or grab extra for a big event. Many rotate seasonal offerings as ingredients come into peak - so timing your order can make all the difference.

Few things are as comforting as a good pie, whether it's capping a Sunday dinner or baked on a whim. It's a crowd-pleaser that rarely disappoints, but have you ever tried making one yourself? Eating a slice is easy; tackling a from-scratch pie is another story - pie-making takes patience, lots of steps, and more time than you'd expect. Still, the buttery smell of a crust browning in the oven can make the effort feel completely worth it.

From mixing and chilling the crust to rolling it out, making the filling, assembling everything neatly, and finally baking, a homemade pie takes real effort. It can be a joyful ritual, but most of us just don't have the hours it demands. Thankfully, plenty of bakeries now handle the whole process for you - they bake fresh pies and ship them straight to your doorstep, so you can plate dessert without the mess or the stress. Whether you're hosting a holiday dinner or craving a weeknight treat, it's never been easier to serve pie that tastes homemade.

Many pie clubs prioritize fresh, high-quality ingredients, so you don't need to worry that you'll receive a lesser quality product than what you could make yourself. You'll be able to try far more flavors than you've ever experienced that will delight your family, guests, or whoever you might consider gifting a pie subscription to. When deciding which pie company to sign up with, take the following things into consideration:

The experts at Top Consumer Reviews have researched the best pie clubs available for you to sign up for online. Our in-depth look at these subscriptions will help you choose a company that offers convenient, mouth-watering pies that you can indulge in all year round!

Pie Club FAQ

What should I look for in a pie club?
Since there are a lot of pie clubs competing for your business, it's important to pay attention to some key things. The most obvious one is their menu. See if they list all their flavors so you can get an idea of whether or not they make a wide variety of unique pies and if their ingredients are something that excites you. You don't want to get bored with pies you have already tried a million times or get too many repeat flavors in your deliveries over time. Next, look at their pricing and see if they offer discounts for subscribers and how much it will be over the duration of your subscription. Is shipping free? Or is it a pricey addition to your pies? Lastly, pay attention to the Better Business Bureau rating for the company and the reviews from their buyers. This will let you know more about the quality of the pies, how reliable delivery is, and if their customer service is swift in taking care of issues. Among these three main things, you should be able to pick a pie club that you'll be happy with.
What pie flavors can I expect in my subscription?
There are some staple pie flavors we've all come to know and love like apple, pumpkin, strawberry rhubarb, blueberry, and even chocolate. But this is just scratching the surface of how many amazing options are out there to be explored. Pie clubs have created a delectable selection of pies you've likely never even tried before that can be delivered straight to your door on a regular schedule. You're in for fun flavors like cherry lattice, berry crumb, salted caramel, and ginger pear.
Why should I subscribe to a pie club?
When you can avoid going to a store or running from place to place to find what you're looking for, shopping online is always more convenient. You can quickly browse all pie flavors in a company's inventory from home and compare pricing among other brands too. It's the best way to get the lowest prices and keep an eye on sales. Plus, when it comes to food items like pies, it saves a significant amount of time and mess if someone else does all the work for you. It may also be your only option if you want to try the unique variety of flavors out there or don't feel entirely confident in your culinary skills. Brick-and-mortar gourmet pie stores are really hard to find, so there's also a high chance that you won't even be able to get the pies you're looking for unless you buy them online.
How do I know if the pies from a club contain something I'm allergic to?
If you're concerned about potential allergens in your pies, be sure to buy from a company that lists all their ingredients and nutrition facts on their website. Often they'll list them out by flavor so you know ahead of time if everything is safe for you. Companies that are dairy-, soy-, egg-, or nut-free will often promote this as a selling point for people who are looking to avoid these ingredients. If you can't find the ingredient information you're looking for, always reach out to the company directly and they'll be sure to give you all the details you need to know about their recipes.
How often will I need to order my pies?
The great thing about a subscription is that you set it up once and won't have to give it a second thought afterwards. Once you place an initial order that specifies the duration of your deliveries, the quantity, and flavors (if you get to choose), you won't have to do anything afterwards. Pies will be delivered based on the schedule you set and the only thing you do from there is anticipate your delivery and enjoy your pies upon arrival.
What if I don't like the kind of pie that comes in my shipment?
If you're subscribing to a company that surprises you with flavors in each delivery, it's possible that you'll get a shipment of something you aren't a big fan of. Look for a company that offers a satisfaction guarantee in case your pie isn't fresh or something else is wrong with it. Usually they'll refund your money or offer you a store credit in this case. Otherwise, hopefully the people you are sharing your pie with will be excited about the flavor even if it isn't your favorite.
How long will my pies stay fresh?
Since every company uses different ingredients, they may vary a bit in how long they are shelf-stable for. Most of the time, the company will send you information with your delivery about how soon you need to enjoy your pie or how to freeze it if you plan to save it for a later date. The companies we prefer typically use high-quality ingredients without preservatives, so it's a good rule of thumb to just eat your pie within a day or two of it being delivered.
Do pie clubs make a good gift?
One reason pies make a fantastic gift is because a single person can enjoy it for days or it can feed a group. Everyone loves a good pie, so you can't go wrong. We love it when we find a company that offers packaging that revolves around a holiday or special event because then not only are you giving a delicious gift, but it also comes with a beautiful presentation. You can usually add a personalized gift message for whoever is receiving the subscription as well.
