As a society we've made pie a staple dessert for many holidays all throughout the year. Celebrating the 4th of July? Don't forget the blueberry pie. Thanksgiving? Bring on the pumpkin. Christmas? Apple pie all the way. But you don't need to wait for a holiday to eat pie.
With a pie club, you can get continual pie deliveries to be enjoyed right away or frozen for later when you want them. Customers choose the duration of deliveries, how often they come, and sometimes even the pie flavor shipped each month. A usual subscription of deliveries is around 3, 6, 9, or 12 months long, but some vendors have ongoing subscriptions that will continue indefinitely until you cancel.

Amazing Clubs is a great go-to resource for gift-giving and has been since their inception in 2003. They have 44 clubs you can subscribe to for things like wine, chocolate, cheesecake, pie, jerky, pickles, honey, and so much more. You'll find something new and exciting for even the pickiest of people who are the hardest to shop for. With each club, you can choose a delivery schedule that fits your budget, have a gift announcement sent out right away (or later) with a personal message and all the information one might need to know about the fun deliveries headed their way.
8-10 servings per shipment
The Pie of the Month Club from Amazing Clubs is a popular option for shoppers of this site. It's been featured by Good Morning America, The Early Show, Today, Wall Street Journal, and USA Today. Through the pie club, you or the person you're gifting to will receive a selection of pie delivered oven-fresh and ready to eat. Each order comes with about 8-10 servings, which is plenty to share or savor for yourself over a few days. Each pie comes in specialty packaging to ensure fresh and safe delivery with a newsletter full of information about monthly selections, fun pie facts, and serving suggestions.
New flavors monthly
Customers don't get to choose the pies they receive each month, which Amazing Clubs says is part of the fun. A new flavor is sent each month from a selection of both classic favorites and new flavors. During a 12-month period, no selections will be repeated. Some previous flavors that the company has sent out include things like mixed berry, pumpkin spice, coconut cream, summer strawberry, German chocolate, peach crumb, and cherry-red raspberry pie. But, a helpful hint: if you get your monthly email announcing a pie flavor and it's an absolute "no” (like our gift recipient and how she feels about peanut butter), you can just reach out to Amazing Clubs and ask them to skip that month's delivery. They'll just tack an extra month onto the end of your subscription, no problem.
Flexible delivery options
One thing we like about Amazing Clubs is that they offer flexible delivery schedules. You can choose between paying upfront or monthly for your subscription and do deliveries for 3 months ($65.95/month or $197.85 total), seasonally (4 deliveries at $65.95/month or $263.80 total), for 6 months ($64.95/month or $389.70 total), or for 12 months ($63.95/month or $767.40 total). Next you can adjust the frequency to every month or every other month and select the month that you want your deliveries to start. Very few other subscription companies offer this many choices when it comes to your delivery timetable, plus shipping is always free.
Cancel any time
If you decide to cancel your membership with Amazing Clubs and not receive future deliveries that you already signed up for, you can do this at any time. The company says you will receive a full refund for unshipped merchandise if you reach out to them either by phone or email. If you're unhappy with a shipment you receive for any reason, Amazing Clubs says they will do everything they can to make it right.
High ratings
Amazing Clubs has reviews straight on their website that you can read from customers. Their pie club is really highly rated and we read from a lot of people that they enjoyed every single selection they received, felt packaging was done well, and they were overall pleased with the whole experience. Amazing Clubs carries a strong "A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau, so this is a reliable place for a pie club and we wouldn't hesitate to sign up. Even our peanut-butter hater we mentioned absolutely loved everything she got here, and raved about the exceptional customer service.
No reason not to
For people who want a lot of flexibility with a delivery schedule (and therefore pricing), Amazing Clubs is an excellent choice. The customer service here is always on point, the pies never disappoint, and Amazing Clubs makes gift-giving about as easy as it gets. It's no wonder why this company's pie club earns our #1 spot.
Founded in Gainesville, Georgia in 2012, Southern Baked Pie Company was launched by a creative entrepreneur and University of Georgia graduate. She bases her pies off of family recipes and is proud of her all-butter pie crust that melts in your mouth. Here you can buy both sweet and savory pies for all occasions that are made with fresh ingredients from local farmers. Some recognizable brands that have turned to Southern Baked Pie Company for their corporate gifts include Amazon, Delta, The Home Depot, Chick-fil-A, State Farm, and Capital One.
Best selection of flavors
If we were giving awards for the most decadent, mouth-watering variety of pie flavors and looking at nothing else, Southern Baked Pie Company would be our winner. The kinds of pie you'll get here include buttermilk, chocolate chess, french coconut custard, salted caramel turtle, sugar cream celebration, and cranberry apple, among others. For single orders, you can also get savory pies like pot roast pie, chicken pot pie, southern taco pie, chicken ranchero pie, spinach and mushroom quiche, vegetable pot pie, and more. They even have an incredible selection of gluten-free pies to top it all off. We are truly so impressed with the selection here.
No-brainer
It's a no-brainer to subscribe to recurrent pie deliveries from Southern Baked Pie Company if you want to try a bunch of flavors. You can sign up for a 3, 6, or 12-month membership that ships on the last Tuesday of each month. It's a pie of the month club, so you'll get a flavor hand-selected by Southern Baked Pie Company rather than picking your own, and all of them will be from their sweet pie varieties.
Pricey shipping
A 3-month membership is $198.95, 6 months is $385.95, and 12 months is $737.95. This is slightly more expensive than what you can get from another place, especially when you consider that shipping is not included in these costs. If you live locally, you can get same-day delivery for $19.95, otherwise the cost to ship will be determined by your zip code. For us, the cost of delivery was a whopping $39.95, which was a lot more than we were hoping for.
Eat fresh or freeze for later
Each pie from Southern Baked Pie Company is about 10” which includes about 8 servings. They are carefully packaged to ensure safe arrival and are ready to serve immediately. If you prefer to save your pie for a later date, it can be frozen and thawed then. Specific thawing and reheating instructions are listed on Southern Baked Pie Company's website.
No refunds
Southern Baked Pie Company does not offer refunds to customers, but they may replace pies depending on the circumstance. If you don't like a flavor or they need to send a new pie for any reason, it will be the responsibility of the customer to pay for shipping.
Thrilled over quality and taste
Hundreds of people have sung the praises of Southern Baked Pie Company, primarily those who live near their physical location. The pie crusts seem to really set these pies apart and people say these are the best pies they've ever had. Like us, there are some people who are hesitant about the prices, but otherwise people feel like these pies are worth the cost and are thrilled about the quality and taste.
Amazing for flavor alone
If you're willing to pay the steep price of shipping, this is one of our favorite options for pie clubs. Their flavors are incredibly diverse, they have a classy website, and we're happy with the duration options of delivery and how much customers love this company. Since it is on the more expensive side, it hasn't earned our very highest rating, but it's a pie club well worth considering if you can afford it.
Grand Traverse Pie Company primarily offers gourmet pies that are delivered to customers' homes. In addition to sweet pies, you'll find their famous savory chicken pot pie as well. Grand Traverse Pie Company also sells cherry coffee, pie serving utensils, and cinnamon rolls, but that's the extent of their inventory outside of fruit and chocolate pies.
Appetizing flavors
First and foremost, we like to explore the flavors of pie that a company offers before digging any deeper. We have to admit we are impressed by the variety here and how delicious each one looks. They sell a farmer's market peach pie, rhubarb pie, cherry crumb, apple pie with caramel and pecans, pumpkin, chocolate pecan, cherry ganache, and more. This is a robust and classy selection of flavors that we can definitely get behind.
Monthly or bi-monthly deliveries
The Pie of the Month Club from Grand Traverse Pie Company will give you a sample of all they have to offer with either 3, 6, or 12 months of fresh-baked pies delivered to your door. Customers will either receive the flavor of their choosing or the company will pick one of their signature pies and surprise them. With the first month's delivery, a welcome letter is included explaining everything you'd need to know about the club. After the first delivery, pies will arrive about a month apart on either a Wednesday, Thursday, or Friday unless you choose the "stagger” option when you order so that pies will come every other month.
Shipping included
The cost of a 3 month membership is $176.91, 6 months is $353.82, and 12 months is $707.64. That comes out to a little under $60 per pie and shipping is included. When you go through the checkout with a 3-month subscription for example, you'll see that your order total for the pies is just $98.97, but the shipping alone is $74.97, which makes up the rest of the cost.
Eat fresh or freeze
When your pies arrive, they should be eaten within 3 days if left at room temperature. It's not recommended that you refrigerate Grand Traverse Pie Company's fruit pies because it makes the crust soggy, but you should refrigerate ganache, pumpkin, pecan, and cream pies. All types of pie can be frozen if you don't plan on serving them right away.
Optimistic about satisfaction
There is no mention of a satisfaction guarantee or return policy on Grand Traverse Pie Company's website. There is a contact form you can fill out if you have questions or concerns, but otherwise pies will be final sale here. We read 2 reviews from customers who have subscribed to the pie club here (since that's all that was posted on their website) and both said that they love the company and their pies are to die for, so we doubt you'll be wanting a refund anyway. The Better Business Bureau gives Grand Traverse Pie Company an "A+” rating and we did find reviews about the overall company which were all extremely satisfactory.
A top option
If you want a top-of-the-line pie with flexibility to pick your own flavors, Grand Traverse Pie Company will surely deliver. Their pricing is comparable to what we've seen from other places and we will try to overlook how much of it is for shipping alone. Eek! We're big fans of getting a large pie in our order and being able to freeze it for later if we need to. If you want to get or give a classy pie subscription that is sure to have your mouth watering in anticipation for your next delivery, check out Grand Traverse Pie Company.
Piedaho is a family-owned company that brings pies to customers from the mountains of Idaho. Locals will recognize the places that Piedaho buys fruit for their pies like Tubbs Berry Farm, Wood River Farmers Market, Waterwheel Gardens, and Kelley's Canyon Orchard. They use other ingredients from companies like Wheat Montana and Bob's Red Mill to ensure the highest-quality, best-tasting pies for customers.
Non-traditional flavors
You can buy hand pies, mini pies, and full 10” pies that serve 8-10 people from Piedaho. Flavors including cranberry apple, mixed berry ginger, chai apple, cherry bourbon, blackberry pie, Christmas funfetti, salted caramel apple, and maple blueberry crumble are the reasons people keep coming back for more on Piedaho's online store. They have a solid variety, all of which are slightly non-traditional, so you'll get to try a lot of fun new pies here.
Gluten-free options
For those who are gluten-free, it will be a major win to find that Piedaho has some gluten-free pies including a maple blueberry crumble and blackberry pie. Like the non gluten-free pies, these flavors are prone to change since this company takes the best fruit in season to craft new kinds throughout the year, so you could always check in every few months to see what new pies are in-stock.
Surprise, seasonal flavors
The pie club from Piedaho offers seasonal pie deliveries either two, four, or twelve times. The company will pick flavors for you for each order, so it will always be a surprise to find what you receive. The cost for 2 pies per year is $120, $225 for 4, and $650 for all 12 months. The price includes shipping and a pie cutter.
Heat or freeze for later
Pies are sent out around the 15th of each month. After each pie is handmade, Piedaho flash freezes them and ships them out frozen via 2-day shipping from UPS. As soon as it arrives, you can heat and eat it or put it in the freezer for a later date.
No satisfaction guarantee
There is no FAQ page or detailed information about a return policy or customer satisfaction guarantee from Piedaho, but the company does provide an email address to contact them if needed.
Killer pies
There is no Better Business Bureau rating for Piedaho and they don't have customer reviews on their listings either. However, we found a few customer comments in other places that included details about how happy people were to find gluten-free pies and how they always feel satisfied with each order. This is a popular place to order Thanksgiving pies and customers say that they are "killer” and always a crowd favorite year after year.
All around good option
Piedaho is a fantastic option for a pie club since they have so many delicious flavors and competitive pricing. Customer feedback leads us to believe that you'll be craving your next pie as soon as you've finished the one from your most recent delivery. It's rare to find a place that offers gluten-free pies, so outside of their pie club, we highly recommend checking those out if it appeals to you. We like the hometown/family feel of Piedaho and have given them one of our top ratings among pie clubs.
Chocolate Maven Bakery is based out of Santa Fe, New Mexico. The company offers subscriptions for cakes, pies, tarts, pastries, muffins, and scones. This artisanal bakery ships goods all over the USA and offers pickup options for their Santa Fe customers. The company began 30 years ago offering honey sweetened cinnamon rolls out of the owner's home. They've grown to become an award winning bakery and a "must see” restaurant for those visiting the Santa Fe area.
No obligation
The pie subscription through Chocolate Maven Bakery is a no-obligation option that offers plenty of flexibility and the option to cancel anytime. Pie deliveries come monthly and renew according to your selected delivery interval, but you can pause or cancel a subscription at any time through your customer portal. There is an option to skip a month if you'll be out of town or just have too much pie already (is that even a thing?). Through your customer portal you can also add other products sold by Chocolate Maven Bakery to your subscription to get more with each delivery.
Possibly lacking flavor diversity
It's not entirely clear how many pie flavors are rotated through Chocolate Maven Bakery's club. The flavors we saw included green chile apple pie (yes, this includes green chiles as an ingredient), cherry lattice pie, strawberry rhubarb, chocolate pecan, and wild blueberry. The lone customer review on the subscription did mention that the buyer purchased a 6-month membership for her son and she wished they had more flavors because he received some repeat kinds just within the 6 months. This makes us think that there isn't as much variety here as we've seen from some other pie clubs.
Free shipping on subscriptions
The cost for each delivery is $25. This is very affordable and most pies are 9” and serve about 6-12. We were extra surprised when we saw that subscription orders ship for free, making this one of the least expensive choices for a pie club.
30-day return policy
Chocolate Maven Bakery wants their customers to be delighted with their orders, so they say they will offer either a refund or replacement if something is wrong with the pie or shipment. Their return policy extends 30 days, so you have this much time to reach out to Chocolate Maven Bakery with any issues or concerns. If your order arrives damaged, they want an email as soon as possible and a photo of the item's condition.
Satisfied customers
The Better Business Bureau gives Chocolate Maven Bakery an "A+” rating. Although there are few reviews about their pie subscriptions, their restaurant in Santa Fe has hundreds of reviews and people really like this place. Reports of them serving some of the best pastries people have ever tried was a home-run hit in convincing us that we shouldn't sleep on the pies here.
A low-risk option
We can't believe how affordable the pies are from Chocolate Maven Bakery. If you have any hesitancy about signing up for a pie delivery, this is a good, low-cost, low-risk place to start since shipping is free, their company is reputable, and they do offer returns or replacements if you're unhappy. Even though you may not get a lot of flavor diversity, this is a must-consider pie club.
Butter & Crumb Pie Company was started by Kelly Moreau, a woman who left a 25-year career in the corporate world to explore her passion for baking. She and her husband created new and original recipes for both sweet and savory pies with all natural ingredients, including local fruits and vegetables whenever available. All their pies are baked from scratch and pie dough rolled by hand. In addition to their Pie of the Month Club, they offer dinner and dessert boxes and 10” or 5” pies.
Sweet and savory
To give you an idea of what flavors of pies you can get here, we'll dive right into the ones that caught our attention. The chocolate brownie pie looked like something straight from heaven, the key lime pie is beautiful, and chocolate bourbon pecan, pumpkin praline, apple crumb, and blueberry crumb are just a few that we knew we could get behind. The fun thing about Butter & Crumb is that they also sell savory pies that could be used for a dinner, like french tomato pie, corn and cheddar, or mushroom and asparagus.
Dessert pies in subscriptions
If you want to try one of their savory pies, you'll have to order it separately from their Pie of the Month Club. All the flavors for the year that come in regular subscription deliveries are more of a sweet dessert. The company lists the whole year's worth of flavors so you know what you'll be getting in any given month. None of the flavors repeat, which we were excited to see.
3, 6, or 12-month memberships
You can sign up for either a 3, 6, or 12-month membership with the Pie of the Month Club. A 3-month membership is $170, 6 months is $364, and 12 months is $754, which breaks down to around $60 per order for a 10” pie that serves about 8-10 people. Customers will select the month they wish their deliveries to begin and they can expect them to ship on the last Monday of every month and arrive within 2-3 business days. The cost of shipping is calculated at checkout and depends on your zip code. For us, the cost was $39.95 per order, which was a hard pill to swallow.
Shipped frozen
All pies from Butter & Crumb are shipped frozen with ice packs in insulated coolers. They can be thawed on the counter or up to 2 days prior to cutting. Then they should be stored in the refrigerator. Specific instructions for thawing, reheating, and freezing each type of pie can be found on their website.
Thorough FAQ page
We really appreciate how thorough Butter & Crumb's FAQ page is on their website. It lists out just about any question you might have with answers, so they leave nothing to the imagination. If you have questions about ordering pies in bulk, local delivery, shipments to apartment, office, or residential buildings, or other unique requests, it's all laid out for you.
No refunds
If you are not satisfied with an order of pies, it's worth reaching out to Butter & Crumb, but keep in mind they do not offer refunds. The company says that depending on the circumstance they may replace your pie, but the cost of the shipment will be billed at the customer's expense.
Few ratings
There are a handful of customer reviews on Butter & Crumb's website if you look at a specific pie flavor. These reviews are generally really positive, which is great, but it's not a lot to go off of. There is no Better Business Bureau rating for the company and hardly any information on third-party sites relating to their subscription or anything else about the company.
Pricier option than others
We fully believe that any pie you order from Butter & Crumb will meet your expectations. This store is clearly a labor of love, as is the case with many small businesses. Surely the pies here are handcrafted with high-quality ingredients, so you might get better-tasting pies here than from a bigger, more well-established store. However, it comes at a price. The subscriptions here aren't cheap, especially when you factor in shipping. There is no mention of being able to cancel a membership and since refunds aren't available, we assume that once you pay for your membership upfront, you need to stick with it. If this isn't an issue for you, then by all means you should try out Butter & Crumb. However, they may be a pricier company than some are comfortable with, so they've earned a just above average rating from us.
Goldbelly is all about connecting people through the emotional power of food. They believe that what we eat is more than just nourishment but also memories, comfort, and connection. This unique company is a curated marketplace for food gifts and gourmet eats brought to you by a host of restaurants, bakeries, pizzerias, and delis, which can all be found on Goldbelly's website. Customers can order all types of foods, meal kits, and desserts from this one central location and have them shipped to their door.
Pies from all over the US
In addition to one-time orders, Goldbelly has a list of food subscriptions that you can sign up for like pizzas, cookies, BBQ, ice cream, bacon, sandwiches, and our favorite - pie. This pie club ships nationwide throughout the US and you'll get to try signature creations from New York pie shops, regional pies with fresh local fruit, and famous pies from top restaurants around the country.
8-10 servings per pie
Deliveries come month after month for the specified duration of the subscription and cannot be modified in any way. Goldbelly has 3, 6, 9, or 12-month subscription options. The cost is $64.95/month and shipping is free. Each pie contains 8-10 servings, so it's a decent size.
Surprise flavors
You won't know ahead of time which flavor of pie you'll be receiving, so each box will be a surprise. However, in the description of the pie club, Goldbelly mentions flavors like s'mores, bourbon pecan, crumb, lattice, apple, and pumpkin chiffon, so this gives you a tiny insight into what might be expected.
Gift it or keep it
Little else is said about Goldbelly's subscription service besides that it can be sent to yourself or as a gift with a personalized message if you choose. They do state that everything ordered from them is final sale, but if your food arrives spoiled or damaged, you can work through it with their customer support team.
High praises from customers
We would love to see unfiltered customer reviews on the pie subscription from Goldbelly, to have a better idea of what types of pies you'd receive in each box, how fresh they are, and what people think of the taste and reliability of the pies. However, we are happy to see that Goldbelly has an "A” rating from the Better Business Bureau and thousands of people have left comments on third-party sites about how much they appreciate this company, the high quality of the food they receive, the great customer service, and more.
Lacking some information
We wish we knew if the pies from Goldbelly's arrive frozen, how soon they should be eaten, and what time of month they typically ship. Hopefully some of this information is included with the pie you receive. Since Goldbelly's has so many products and companies they're working with, the pie subscription isn't necessarily their main focus or priority, so it's a pretty basic product offering. However, this is a highly-rated company by customers, so we have faith that you'd be thrilled with your monthly pie if you can swallow the cost of it. Goldbelly has earned a "good enough” rating from us.
CRUST first opened their doors on February 1, 2012. They have distinguished themselves as "a beacon of artisanal excellence in the baking industry.” The founders went on an extensive research expedition to discover the essence and origins of baking traditions, visiting bakeries of all sizes and specialties across North America. With their knowledge, they created CRUST, a company that sells breads, pastries, cookies, pies, and so much more.
Cutie Pie Club
The pie subscription service from CRUST is cleverly named, "Cutie Pie Club”. When you sign up for recurrent deliveries, you'll receive a 6” version of one of their most popular flavors each month. You'll get a single pie in your delivery, so compared to the 9” pies that most other companies offer, you won't be getting as many servings from CRUST as you will find elsewhere.
3 or 6-month subscriptions
Customers can choose to either receive 3 months of pies for $112 or 6 months for $220. Shipping is free, which is a selling point for us, so that brings each delivery to about $37 each. Typically most people would be hesitant to buy a 6” pie for $37 at the grocery store, so it does feel a little expensive, but you have to account for the convenience factor of these pies being delivered straight to your door on a regular schedule.
Set first delivery date
Upon checkout, customers can select their first preferred shipping date. If you want to sign up for the Cutie Pie Club at CRUST, but don't want the first delivery sent to you or the person you are giving a subscription to right away, you can set a date even months ahead if needed.
Fruity flavors
You'll be able to see the full year's list of flavors on CRUST's website to see if what is offered here will satisfy your palate. This year they included apple double, cherry double, blueberry double, American berry double, pecan, and strawberry rhubarb double. They repeat every 6 months, but since a 12-month club isn't offered, it's not a big deal. We noticed they don't have any chocolate varieties, which some people are big fans of, so what you'll find here are your staple fruity flavors.
Enjoy within 3 days
All pies from CRUST are baked to order and then frozen prior to shipping. Since delivery takes 1-2 days, your pie might be thawed by the time you receive it, so you can store it on the counter and it should be consumed within 3 days. CRUST does not recommend re-freezing their pies, so everything you receive from here will need to be enjoyed right away.
No returns
Since everything shipped from CRUST is perishable, they don't accept returns. If you encounter an issue with your order, they ask that you send them an email so they can do everything possible to make it right. As a general rule of thumb though, everything is final sale here.
No customer feedback
When searching for reviews of this company, we came up bone dry. The Better Business Bureau does not have a rating for them, and due to the nature of their company name, their store is jumbled up with a lot of others with similar names online. Customers can leave reviews for products on CRUST's site, but none have been left for their Cutie Pie Club. Depending on the individual pie flavor, we were able to see that for people buying single pies from CRUST, they were happy with the flavor and texture.
An average option
We've awarded CRUST an average score in our books for a few reasons. Their pies are smaller than what you can get other places, and call us greedy, but if we're placing a pie subscription order, bigger is better. They don't have very unique flavors in their rotation and you can't be very flexible with your delivery schedule. Plus, since pies can't be refrozen here, you can't make your pie last as long if you need to. No doubt this is a well-liked company with a lot of great things to offer, but their pie club isn't one of our top choices.
Lenore and Anna are two friends with a love of pie and produce who came together to create Three Babes Bakeshop (...we're not sure who the third babe would be...). Their store started out as a pop-up shop out of a shipping container and as it continued to grow, they launched an online store and have been in business over 11 years. Those in the San Francisco area can visit their commercial kitchen and buy a pie in-person; anyone else nationwide can have nut pies delivered to their door.
Vegan and gluten-free pies
When you look at the menu of pies available for purchase from Three Babes Bakeshop, there isn't a huge selection, but we did notice gluten-free and vegan options for those who need them. When we were shopping, the flavors we found included classic apple, blackberry crumble, bourbon pecan, bittersweet chocolate pecan (GF), salty honey walnut, classic pumpkin, classic pumpkin in a graham cracker crust (GF), blackberry crumble (GF), and vegan blackberry lattice.
Specify preferences
With the pie subscription service from Three Babes Bakeshop, they typically don't send the vegan or gluten-free pies, but they do encourage you to tell them what you do and don't like, so you might be able to make a special request for a vegan or gluten-free pie to be included. Otherwise, Three Babes Bakeshop says that your subscription will also likely include off-menu pies that aren't on their regular menu, so you can plan on more diversity than you see on their website.
Google doc order form
If you decide to commit to a subscription from Three Babes Bakeshop, you'll fill out your information on a Google doc. This includes your name, email address, phone number, who the subscription is for, frequency (weekly, twice per month, or once per month), subscription length (3, 6, 12 months or other), your fulfillment method, preferred fulfillment day, preferred fulfillment time, and what types of pie you or the person receiving the subscription likes the most. That's a little old-school compared with websites that have easy-breezy online order forms, but small businesses sometimes have to start, well, small.
Nut pies only
Something disappointing we realized when filling out the Google doc is that if you don't do an in-store pickup of your pies, it costs $15 per shipment, but they only ship nut pies nationwide. This really limits the selection you might receive, so it seems odd that they offer a subscription service at all.
Frequent deliveries
For those who do have access to the pies from Three Babes Bakeshop, it costs $37.50 per pie if you do a weekly order, $40 per pie for 2 pies per month, and $43 per pie if you just get one per month. The frequency of deliveries here is far more than what's offered from other companies, which may be overkill for some.
Enjoy within 1-2 weeks
It's not entirely clear how Three Babes Bakeshop ships their pies. Are they frozen? Do they thaw or stay frozen during transit? They don't say. However, they do give instructions for reheating fruit, nut pies, and quiches. Nut pies can be left unrefrigerated for 1-2 weeks or last weeks in the refrigerator, so it could be frozen or enjoyed slowly when left on the counter.
Reviews from the locals
The Better Business Bureau doesn't have a rating for Three Babes Bakeshop, so we referred to third-party sites where locals reported on their experience here. Mostly people really enjoy the pies, though some people felt like they were inconsistent as far as quality goes. For the most part, customers feel like the pies here are a real treat and they're excited about finding this local bakeshop, but no one mentioned their subscription or making lots of repeat purchases.
Limiting options
The fact that Three Babes Bakeshop only ships their nut pies nationwide makes this a really limiting place to sign up for a pie subscription. They have good gluten-free and vegan options for those who live locally, but outside of that not many people can fully enjoy the menu here. There is also nothing about a return policy or satisfaction guarantee, which we would prefer to see upfront, so Three Babes Bakeshop has earned our lowest ranking for pie clubs.
Some companies will display what their flavors for the year are going to be and others will surprise you with each order. In between, you can often do single pie purchases as well if you want to try a one-off flavor or need extra for a big event.
A good pie is a satisfying treat that can be enjoyed with Sunday night dinners or at any other time for no major reason at all. It's a crowd favorite that you can't go wrong with. But have you ever made pie? It's one thing to enjoy it, but a whole other level if you're making one from scratch. Pie-making can be quite the ordeal and takes a lot of steps and time to get it just right.
You've got to make the crust, chill it, roll it out, make the filling, piece it all together beautifully, and then bake it. Making pie can be a fun and satisfying tradition, but most of us don't regularly have time for that.
