Buying a pool table can be challenging, mostly because of its size. Pool tables often weigh more than 1,000 pounds, so your average retailer isn't going to have many of them on display even if they offer them for sale: they just take up too much room and they're too hard to move. This should absolutely be a store you consider if you want a high-quality pool table at a great price.

Small business attention with nationwide delivery is what you'll get from The Pool Table Store. Although the majority of its clients live near their retail location in Florida, this retailer's inventory of 60+ pool tables is largely available wherever you live. Customers say this company is helpful, responsive and knowledgeable, so don't hesitate to reach out if you need help with the buying process. Particularly if you live in Central Florida, you should check out what The Pool Table Store has in stock.
Walmart
Walmart's selection of over 1,000 pool tables runs the gamut, from tabletop toys to solid designs you'd see in any well-equipped game room. Be aware that some of them are offered by Walmart's third-party "marketplace” sellers, and that impacts your delivery costs and timeframes, as well as the return policy and availability of professional installation. Fortunately, none of that limits your ability to get a decent, affordable pool table here.
Legacy Billiards
Legacy Billiards has a little over three dozen pool tables to choose from, all in their own brand line - no Brunswick or other makers offered here. There are plenty of ways to customize your table with upgrades, and every indoor model comes with a limited lifetime warranty…as long as you pay $799 for their five-star installation. There are no red flags with this pool table store, but we'd need to see a lot more customer feedback for Legacy Billiards to (finally) get a higher ranking.
Home Depot
If Home Depot is where you like to go to "get more done”, you might enjoy browsing their selection of 24+ pool tables. Most styles here are mid-range in quality and price; you won't find anything overly extravagant here. Your only free delivery option is if you choose ship-to-store, but direct-to-you costs tend to be reasonable. Home Depot is an okay place to get your pool table if they have what you're looking for, but you'll find better selection (and more expertise) with the higher-ranked retailers in our review.
Billiard Factory
Billiard Factory is based in Texas and has several retail stores there and in a handful of other states, in addition to their online storefront. While this used to be one of our highest-ranked pool table shops, the website now makes it difficult to find which ones can be ordered online vs. in-store only. Plus, with a "D-” from the Better Business Bureau and some customers complaining in other forums about the responses received from Billiard Factory's reps, this retailer just isn't staying competitive with the higher-rated pool table sellers we reviewed.
Coastal Pool & Game Room
There are over 240 pool tables to choose from at Coastal Pool & Game Room, ranging from all-in-one multi-game systems under $1,000 to high-end styles over $17,000. Coastal Pool & Game Room is best suited to customers who live within a 200-mile radius of their CT showroom, and even then their less-than-enthusiastic customer feedback was enough to earn this retailer a low spot in our rankings. Most shoppers will have an easier time finding what they need - and getting good customer service - somewhere else.

Many brick-and-mortar stores offer their complete selection through their internet storefronts, and some retailers can save you money as an online-only merchant (since you're not paying for overhead on an actual shop location). If you want a truly customized table, with felt that perfectly matches your decor and every possible upgrade, this is the best way to do it - all while avoiding any pressure to buy something on the sales floor that isn't what you really had in mind.
But isn't delivery really expensive? No, because most online pool table stores give it to you for free. However, that usually doesn't include anything beyond curbside drop off. If you want professional installation - which we recommend, so that you get a perfectly-level pool table and an intact product warranty - you'll pay extra, either through the retailer's network or by hiring someone on your own. That can add $200 or much more to your cost, so keep that in mind.
