Whether you're looking for a kid-friendly tabletop version, a model just like they have at your favorite watering hole, or an elegant piece of furniture that doubles as a professional-grade billiards table, the world's best selection is available online.
When buying a pool table online, you'll find that most retailers will happily deliver your purchase for free, eliminating any concerns about the expense of buying from an online retailer vs. making your purchase at a brick-and-mortar store. Most stores that offer pool tables have options for professional installation - in fact, some businesses require that you have your table set up by an expert in order to maintain the lifetime product warranty.

Whether you're looking for a fun tabletop model for the kids to use or an elegant piece to add to your estate's game room, you'll find a pool table for every need at Wayfair. At the time of our most recent review, their inventory consisted of more than 130 different billiard tables, plus accessories like pool cues, triangles, balls, covers, and much more.
Wayfair's online store easily beats the competition when it comes to ease of use. Every pool table they carry is displayed with ample information you'll need to choose the right table for your home, from photos taken at multiple angles, color options for the table felt, and details about dimensions and construction. The dropdown boxes at the top of the page let you narrow down the possibilities according to the size of the pool table, desired price range, features and more.
Is this your first time owning a pool table? If so, you'll want to check out Wayfair's suggestions under "You Might Also Need". Did you know that some pool tables can be converted to a dining table? (We didn't either!) How will you store your pool cues? We love that Wayfair tries to help their customers know what they might not have even considered when getting ready to enjoy their pool table.
Shipping is free on all of the pool tables sold by Wayfair, and their prices are extremely competitive. Assembly is available on most of the billiard tables they offer, but expect that to be on the expensive side. For example, on the Beaumont Slate Pool Table that retails for $7299.99, you'd pay $893.99 for assembly (but with something as heavy as a pool table, that's a good investment of your money!).
If you qualify, you can get financing at Wayfair through their partner, Affirm. Also, if you're buying this pool table as a business expense - maybe you're putting something in the break room for your employees or equipping a recreation room at a community center - you may have access to insider pricing. Look for both of those links in the "Special Offers and Savings" corner on the right side of the page.
On most items Wayfair sells, they have a solid 30-day return policy. So, if you get your pool cues and they don't feel quite right, you can return them with no hassles. However, their return policy doesn't cover items that have already been assembled - like pool tables. Your return also wouldn't cover the cost of shipping your pool table back to Wayfair, which is sure to be costly.
Wayfair isn't kidding when they say they have everything for your home - including the perfect pool table. And, with a stellar reputation that includes accreditation and an "A+" rating at the Better Business Bureau, customer service representatives available 7 days a week, and the easiest-to-shop website among all of the retailers we evaluated, Wayfair should be your first choice when choosing a billiard table.
Founded (by the appropriately-named Stick Family) in Houston, Texas in 1975 , Billiard Factory offers some of the most high-end pool tables we've ever seen - along with a great selection of other game room furniture and accessories. Unlike some of the billiard table retailers in our review, this company has a brick-and-mortar presence in 15 retail locations, in addition to their online store.
If you're trying to furnish an entire game room, we recommend that you start by shopping in the Pool Table Collections. There, you'll find coordinated items that go well together, like the Loft Game Room set that includes a pool table, shuffleboard, table, poker table, and matching chairs.
On the other hand, if you just want to buy a billiard table, click on the Pool Tables link to see all of the 70+ options available. No other retailer we evaluated carries the luxury-level models we found with Billiard Factory. For example, their highest-priced table is the Barokko, with a starting price of $62,399.99. Mechanically calibrated to the thousandth of a centimeter, this billiard table is ornate and delivers long-term playability.
You'll have the opportunity to customize almost every table, with upgraded surface coverings and more, as you add the pool table you want to the shopping cart. Don't be confused by the "Check Store Availability" button: at first, it looks like you can't order your billiard table online, but after you click on "Customize", you can choose your desired options and add your custom-designed pool table to your shopping cart.
Billiard Factory offers free shipping on pool tables to most residential addresses within the continental United States. Also, if you sign up for the Billiard Factory email newsletter, you can get 10% off your purchase. This discount is only valid on full-price items, not on clearance or on-sale pool tables or other merchandise.
Installation fees at Billiard Factory are extremely reasonable and are covered by a lifetime warranty. You can choose between Standard and White Glove options:
As with most retailers of pool tables, Billiard Factory allows for returns only on unassembled products. If you decide that you need to return the billiard table you've purchased but not yet put together, you should expect to pay a restocking fee of 15%. If you've purchased accessories like cues or pool balls, you can return them within 30 days of delivery.
Because Billiard Factory is primarily known as a brick-and-mortar retailer, we didn't find very many reviews that mentioned having purchased a pool table through their online store. We also found it odd that the Testimonials link on their website led to a blank page. On a positive note, the reviews we found said that the company's representatives are knowledgeable and helpful, and there were no complaints filed with the BBB.
Billiard Factory delivers a level of design and luxury that is unparalleled by any other online retailer of pool tables, making this company an excellent choice if quality and elegance are of the utmost importance.
Ozone Billiards is a family-owned business specializing in pool tables and accessories. They place strong emphasis on keeping their customers happy, with perks like free shipping on all orders of $75+ within the lower 48 United States, a low price matching guarantee, and a 1-year return policy on accessories returned in original condition. You'll also get a lifetime warranty with every Ozone Billiards table, which guarantees that your table will be free from cracking or splitting for as long as you own it.
We love the Product Knowledge section, found in Ozone's FAQ. Want to know why you should use chalk on your cue, how long the felt on your table will last, or the definition of "Sneaky Pete"? You'll find it here. There are also free training videos in the Learning Center link at the bottom of the page, including tips, tricks, and billiards instruction. These are people who love the sport!
At the time of our review, Ozone was offering a 44% discount on all pool tables in their inventory of just over two dozen tables. Ozone's pool tables are all their own brand, so you won't find familiar names like Brunswick here. They carry approximately 17 styles, mostly named after places (Chicago, Philadelphia, Marietta, etc.). These styles tend to be the traditional wood/slate combination, and we didn't see any that had arcade-style features like an automatic ball return.
Customizing your Ozone pool table is very easy. Choose the options you want on each product page, from your felt color to drawers, matching furniture, or even a dining top for added versatility.
You'll need to pay for White Glove installation no matter which pool table you select. That costs $495 to $695, depending on the state where it's delivered. That keeps your lifetime warranty intact.
We were blown away by the number of reviews we found for Ozone Billiards. Granted, many of those reviews were related to purchases of accessories and not specific to pool tables, but to see more than 13,000 five-star reviews is pretty compelling. The only negative we found on Ozone's record, so to speak, is their "B+" rating with the Better Business Bureau. That seems to stem from claims made on their website several years ago that advertised their business as being the "world's largest game room superstore", and the BBB never received written documentation to support that claim. We don't see that wording on the site now, so it's possible that Ozone decided not to deal with the BBB to fix their listing.
Ozone is an expert in all things billiards, and they're definitely worth browsing when deciding where to get your pool table.
Pool Tables went into business in 2004 and functions as one of the largest independent retailers of billiard tables in the nation. They maintain showrooms in five states: California, New Jersey, Oregon, Georgia, and Texas.
Pool Tables only sells the Spencer Marston brand. These billiards tables are made of 100% hardwood and come with a limited lifetime warranty for the original owner. Some tables come with a Deluxe Accessory Kit: 2 Canadian Maple pool cues, 8- and 9-ball racks, tip repair kit, basic table cover, chalk holders and chalk, bridge stick, Roman-style cue rack, billiard balls, and a 9-inch wooden brush. You may be able to upgrade to the Premier kit, which gets you 2 extra cues, a tally jug and dice, and a vinyl cover.
You'll have an easy time looking through the options on Pool Tables, with just over 20 options to choose from. Each table has an easy-to-understand display of every customization possibility, from cloth (standard or teflon-coated), table size, pocket style, embroidery color, and accessory kit. Click on the tiny "View Options" link if you need an explanation of any of these features.
We were impressed that so many customers said that the performance of their Spencer Marston table easily rivaled or even beat the top names in the industry, even among professional pool players. Pool Tables also has a good reputation as a business, with an "A" rating at the BBB and many positive customer reviews.
Everything that Pool Tables offers comes with free shipping to most locations within the continental US. It's up to you if you want White Glove installation (for a charge of $399.99 in most areas); be aware that if you opt to set up the table yourself and you damage it or assemble it incorrectly, your warranty will be voided.
All sales of billiard tables are final, but Pool Tables offers a 30-day return policy on all other items. You'll be charged a 15% restocking fee, and you'll have to pay the return shipping costs. Pool Tables encourages you to contact them before ordering your preferred model, to make sure you get your questions answered and that you get the right table for your space requirements, budget, and any other considerations.
Pool Tables offers a great value for your money, with solidly-built billiards tables that will provide entertainment to you and your guests for years to come.
When it comes to selection, Walmart has a surprisingly vast array of options for pool tables and accessories that you won't find in their many retail stores. Starting on the low end of the spectrum with a kids tabletop toy for $13.32 and finishing with the Plank & Hide Vox Slate model that retails for $9,499.99, Walmart has a lot to offer in the pool table marketplace.
The Walmart online store is fairly intuitive to use. You can use the left-hand filter options to sort the options by length, customer rating, price, and special offers. You can also set the results to only display pool tables that come with 2-day shipping, or that give you a discount for ordering online and picking up in-store. Your results list will show you at a glance all of your matching tables, including who sells and ships them and if shipping is free.
You may have just said, "Wait a minute. What do you mean by 'who sells and ships them'? Isn't it Walmart?" The answer to that is no. Many of the 180+ pool tables listed on the Walmart site are actually sold and shipped by third-party partners like Overstock, Mozlly, and Costway. That can get tricky if your delivery arrives with damage or if you have any other issues; you won't be able to return the item to a Walmart location. You also might be able to get a better deal by purchasing your pool table directly from the third-party retailer (at least one of which is also in our review).
We like the way Walmart gives you a comparison chart for any pool table you're considering. That chart shows you any differences in warranty length and/or coverage, country of origin, and many other details that might influence your decision. You can also see the specifications of each table, to make sure it fits in your game room or other area.
One big difference between buying a pool table at Walmart or from one of the higher-ranked retailers in our review is the absence of assembly options. If you don't feel confident in your ability to move and put together a big furniture item like a billiards table, you'll need to hire someone on your own to get it done after you've picked it up or had it delivered. That might actually be more affordable than paying the standard installation cost charged by some retailers.
Because Walmart gives customers a wide range of pool tables to choose from at competitive prices, we give it high marks. Just keep an eye out for third-party marketplace items and any fine print that might apply to your purchase, especially with respect to returns.
Legacy Billiards is a well-known manufacturer of pool tables and other table-based entertainment options like foosball and ping-pong. In business for more than two decades, this Tennessee-based retailer is trustworthy and established. We're impressed by Legacy's reputation: an "A+" and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau with zero customer complaints there. There are also numerous customer compliments about the style and longevity of Legacy's pool tables.
If you're not sure what you're looking for when shopping for a pool table, we recommend that you download Legacy's Free Buying Guides. You'll find that link on the left side of the page. Because Legacy only carries 17 different models of billiard tables, you'll have no problems browsing their selection.
You won't find a glitzy product description on the Legacy website, but you can download the same spec sheet you'd find if you were shopping at one of their retail locations. You can also see several images of the billiard table from different angles, and you'll find all of the available options for each model under the Customize section: size, finish, cloth color, installation, and accessory kit options. It won't let you browse through those dropdown options, though: you'll have to make a selection for each feature before you can see what's available below it.
Legacy gets kudos for including a fantastic accessory kit with every purchase. This kit includes:
Most retailers of pool tables don't include any accessories, so this is a very nice and appreciated touch. You can upgrade to the Classic or Sterling kit, but there's no description of what is included with those, and only the Sterling kit is shown on the Accessories page.
Shipping is free within the lower 48 states with any Legacy purchase over $1000 - which includes all of the pool tables they sell. You can return most items purchased through Legacy up to 30 days from delivery, but they have to be unused and in their original packaging. You'll be responsible for the return shipping costs.
Another important detail: you will get no warranty on your pool table unless you choose the $599 installation package. That's in the middle of the pack as far as assembly costs go, but we don't love that it's a requirement unless you're willing to void your warranty.
Legacy pool tables have a good track record for quality, and this retailer offers a decent variety of models to choose from.
Also, don't be confused by terminology: there's no difference between a pool table and a billiard table. In fact, the name "pool table" comes from the history of the game, harkening back to the time when gamblers would gather to "pool" their money to place bets on horse races - places that often had a billiard table.
If you think a pool table will be the perfect addition to your options for home entertainment, you're not alone! More than 30,000 people across the country enjoy playing 8- and 9-ball, straight pool and one-pocket in their own game room. And, because not every town has a specialty recreation store, many customers turn to trusted online retailers to help them pick the right pool table for the space they have available and within their desired budget.
So, as you consider the various possibilities for selecting a billiard table online, what should you keep in mind? Here are several factors that may influence your decision:
