Billiard Factory Review 4.5 Star Rating

Billiard Factory

4.5 Star Rating
  • Cost: From $1,799.99 to $62,399.99
  • Pool Tables: Over 70+

Founded (by the appropriately-named Stick Family) in Houston, Texas in 1975 , Billiard Factory offers some of the most high-end pool tables we've ever seen - along with a great selection of other game room furniture and accessories. Unlike some of the billiard table retailers in our review, this company has a brick-and-mortar presence in 15 retail locations, in addition to their online store.

If you're trying to furnish an entire game room, we recommend that you start by shopping in the Pool Table Collections. There, you'll find coordinated items that go well together, like the Loft Game Room set that includes a pool table, shuffleboard, table, poker table, and matching chairs.

On the other hand, if you just want to buy a billiard table, click on the Pool Tables link to see all of the 70+ options available. No other retailer we evaluated carries the luxury-level models we found with Billiard Factory. For example, their highest-priced table is the Barokko, with a starting price of $62,399.99. Mechanically calibrated to the thousandth of a centimeter, this billiard table is ornate and delivers long-term playability.

You'll have the opportunity to customize almost every table, with upgraded surface coverings and more, as you add the pool table you want to the shopping cart. Don't be confused by the "Check Store Availability" button: at first, it looks like you can't order your billiard table online, but after you click on "Customize", you can choose your desired options and add your custom-designed pool table to your shopping cart.

Best Pool Table Stores

Billiard Factory offers free shipping on pool tables to most residential addresses within the continental United States. Also, if you sign up for the Billiard Factory email newsletter, you can get 10% off your purchase. This discount is only valid on full-price items, not on clearance or on-sale pool tables or other merchandise.

Installation fees at Billiard Factory are extremely reasonable and are covered by a lifetime warranty. You can choose between Standard and White Glove options:

  • Standard: the table is delivered to your driveway. You'll be responsible for moving the boxes into your home or other location, into the room where you'd like the table set up. A certified local installer will contact you to set up the table.
  • White Glove: the table is shipped directly to a certified local installer, who will contact you to set up an appointment. The installer will deliver the table to the room you choose and set it up - you just need to be home when the installer comes, and that's all!

As with most retailers of pool tables, Billiard Factory allows for returns only on unassembled products. If you decide that you need to return the billiard table you've purchased but not yet put together, you should expect to pay a restocking fee of 15%. If you've purchased accessories like cues or pool balls, you can return them within 30 days of delivery.

Because Billiard Factory is primarily known as a brick-and-mortar retailer, we didn't find very many reviews that mentioned having purchased a pool table through their online store. We also found it odd that the Testimonials link on their website led to a blank page. On a positive note, the reviews we found said that the company's representatives are knowledgeable and helpful, and there were no complaints filed with the BBB.

Billiard Factory delivers a level of design and luxury that is unparalleled by any other online retailer of pool tables, making this company an excellent choice if quality and elegance are of the utmost importance.

Where Can You Buy the Best Pool Tables?

Whether you're looking for a kid-friendly tabletop version, a model just like they have at your favorite watering hole, or an elegant piece of furniture that doubles as a professional-grade billiards table, the world's best selection is available online.

When buying a pool table online, you'll find that most retailers will happily deliver your purchase for free, eliminating any concerns about the expense of buying from an online retailer vs. making your purchase at a brick-and-mortar store. Most stores that offer pool tables have options for professional installation - in fact, some businesses require that you have your table set up by an expert in order to maintain the lifetime product warranty.

Pool Table Store FAQ

That depends on who you're asking! Billiards usually means any tabletop game that uses a cue ball and stick, while pool refers to a game with pockets. And then there's snooker, which has very specific rules related to the color point value of the 22 balls involved.
Obviously you'll need enough room for the table itself. But, don't forget to take into account the pool cues when you're playing! You need at least five feet of clearance on all sides of the table, since most cues are about that long.
There are cheap pool tables that cost under $100, but they're usually more like toys than actual equipment you'd use in a game room at your home. Most traditional pool tables start around $2000, with the most luxurious, high-end models coming in at $10,000 and up.
At a minimum, you'll need a pool cue and set of pool balls. They may or may not be included as part of the package when you purchase your pool table. Other common accessories are chalk for the cue tips, wall racks for holding your cues, a bridge stick for hard-to-reach shots, a table brush, and racks for setting up the balls on the table.
Pool tables can weigh up to 1,000 pounds. When your table is installed professionally, it's leveled for that particular spot; moving it can make the slate shift and cause the table to no longer be level. You may want to consider having your table moved by a technician; if you choose to do it yourself, a professional leveling and adjustment may be in order.
Brush, brush, brush. It can take months to break in new cloth on a pool table, and there's no such thing as "brushing too much" . If you choose to use a vacuum, make sure to use an attachment and not rotating brushes. You can also use a damp, lint-free towel every so often to wipe down the pool table's cloth.
You can - but you shouldn't. You could scratch the finish, damage the cloth, or even wind up making the table not level. It's recommended that you keep your table out of direct sunlight and use a pool table cover to protect it from dust.
Check the retailer's policy before making your purchase. Most stores won't accept returns on assembled products. Also, if you return a pool table that you haven't assembled yet, you'll likely have to pay restocking fees and/or return shipping costs. You might be better off trying to sell the table locally instead.

Also, don't be confused by terminology: there's no difference between a pool table and a billiard table. In fact, the name "pool table" comes from the history of the game, harkening back to the time when gamblers would gather to "pool" their money to place bets on horse races - places that often had a billiard table.

If you think a pool table will be the perfect addition to your options for home entertainment, you're not alone! More than 30,000 people across the country enjoy playing 8- and 9-ball, straight pool and one-pocket in their own game room. And, because not every town has a specialty recreation store, many customers turn to trusted online retailers to help them pick the right pool table for the space they have available and within their desired budget.

So, as you consider the various possibilities for selecting a billiard table online, what should you keep in mind? Here are several factors that may influence your decision:

  • Selection. How many pool tables does the store carry? Will you be able to find a model that fits your price range and desired features? Are most of the tables in stock?
  • Reputation. What do other customers have to say about the store? Does the business have a good track record for quality and attention to their clients?
  • Expertise. Does the retailer have the knowledge necessary to help you make the right choice? Do they have an in-depth knowledge of the game?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best Pool Table Stores available today. We hope this information helps you choose the right retailer for your purchase of a billiard table, so that you can create memories with your friends and family for many years to come!
