What are the Best Products for Ringworm Relief?  If you've recently discovered an itchy, scaly ring-shaped area on your skin, you're probably (correctly) suspecting that it could be ringworm. Other names for this condition are tinea, tinea capitis, tinea corporis, and dermatophytosis. More commonly, you may have heard of specific types of ringworm like athlete's foot (found on the feet) or jock itch (affecting the groin).
Puriya is a company that takes the best of what Mother Nature has to offer and makes highly effective formulas out of it. They say no to harmful chemicals, steroids, artificial fragrance, petroleum or mineral oil, toxic additives, and low-quality plants. Their products are plant-based and include formulas for skin issues like eczema, dry/sensitive skin, fungal infections, and more. They also sell chest rubs to help with congestion, shampoo and conditioner, face and body wash, and more.
Alternative to prescription meds
The antifungal balm from Puriya fights athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm by relieving itching, burning, and scaling. It's meant to provide a safe and effective alternative to prescription medication for customers who want their skin restored to its soft, smooth state. The big seller of this product is that it does not contain skin irritants or other harmful ingredients that are of growing concern to people, like parabens, alcohol, or artificial fragrance.
Combination of plant botanicals
This 2 oz (57 gram) jar of antifungal balm contains 10% Zinc Undecylenate as its active ingredient. This antifungal agent is commonly used to deal with skin infections, reduce inflammation, and soothe itching and burning. In addition, there are 18 plant botanicals used in combination to heal and relieve skin irritation, like tea tree oil, coconut, avocado, eucalyptus, rosemary, lavender, geranium, sweet almond, pumpkin, and more. All the ingredients are clearly listed in the product photos, which we appreciate.
$39.87 per jar
We know that Puriya Antifungal Balm is designed for topical use on affected areas, but they don't specify how frequently the balm should be applied. We'd hope that a jar would last quite a long time, since it is $39.87 with eligibility for free shipping. At the time of this review, Puriya had a discount available where you'd save 10% on 2 selected items from the company, 5% on 5 selected items, or 7% on 10 selected items. So if you're also interested in other Puriya products, you might consider taking advantage of these codes.
90-day returns
Interestingly, Puriya Antifungal Balm comes with a 90-day return policy. This doesn't apply to product that has been opened or used, so as long as it is in its original condition and packaging, you could return your jar for a full refund if you decide not to use it. It's not as generous as some rival ringworm relief options, who let you get your money back if you try the product and don't like it, but we understand why Puriya doesn't quite go to those lengths to offer a satisfaction guarantee (it's costly).
Happy customers
Although Puriya does not have a Better Business Bureau rating, over 1,400 people have left ratings about their experience with this antifungal balm. For the most part, people are really pleased with this product. It's reported that it has a pleasant smell, it is natural but effective, helps dryness, provides a lot of relief, and takes care of ringworm. There are less glowing reports scattered here and there around the positive ones, but, this seems to be a great option for people.
No hesitation
Puriya Antifungal Balm is going to be more expensive than some other choices that we've considered, but if it works well, it will be worth it. We like that it has a mix of natural and medicated ingredients to eradicate ringworm while also nourishing the skin. This company makes a lot of great products, so we wouldn't hesitate to give them a try. Puriya Antifungal Balm has earned our top rating among ringworm relief options on the market.
Triple Paste was born over 50 years ago out of a dedication to deliver science-backed results for parents and caregivers. Their main product is diaper rash ointment, but they've expanded to include adult rashes, multi-purpose ointments, and an antifungal product. In 2023, they were chosen as the best overall diaper rash cream from What To Expect. People have raved about Triple Paste's products and say they are effective for even more than they're formulated for.
Not for scalp or nails
Triple Paste AF cures most athlete's foot, jock itch, and ringworm. It provides relief for those struggling with burning, itching, scaling, redness, and chafing. One tube of this cream comes with 2 oz of ointment. To use, clean the affected area and dry thoroughly before applying a thin layer of Triple Paste AF twice daily (morning and night). If your condition persists longer than 2 weeks, a doctor should be consulted. One very important thing to note is that Triple Paste AF is not meant for healing ringworm on the scalp or nails, so you'll have to look elsewhere if this is where your ringworm is occurring.
Water- and sweat-resistant
The combination of 2% miconazole nitrate, zinc oxide, and beeswax form a protective barrier over the skin to prevent ringworm from spreading and heal the affected area. It is water- and sweat-resistant, so you don't need to worry if you are really active day-to-day. The other inactive ingredients in this cream include white petrolatum, corn starch, anhydrous lanolin, stearyl alcohol, beeswax, and cholesterol. This is definitely not a formula that is meant to be "all natural" like a lot of other ringworm relief products we've considered - it's up to you to decide if that's an issue or no big deal as long as it works well.
Watch for discounts
The cost of each tube of Triple Paste AF is normally $23.99, but we were lucky and able to score a lower price of $16.12. This was a limited time deal, but we suspect that it comes and goes, so it's something to watch out for. You can also buy a 2-pack of Triple Paste AF for $38.98 if you want extra on hand. This product is FSA/HSA eligible, so you could spare yourself from paying out-of-pocket if you have some extra health savings funds to use.
Free shipping
Due to safety reasons, Triple Paste AF is non-returnable. However, it is eligible for free shipping, so it's nice to know you won't be paying more than the price listed online.
Fantastic reviews
Triple Paste AF has some of the best ratings of any other ringworm product we've evaluated. It receives high praise for effectiveness, value, ease of use, longevity, healing abilities, and more. A lot of people say that after trying other products unsuccessfully, it was a relief to use Triple Paste AF and get the healing they'd been waiting for. Advantis Health is the company who runs Triple Paste and they have a "C+"rating from the Better Business Bureau, which is definitely not ideal, but it is also based on a single customer complaint, so we don't feel like it holds a lot of weight in this scenario.
A top option
If you're okay going with a formula to combat ringworm that isn't completely natural or plant-based, we're confident that you'll see success with Triple Paste AF. The only major downside here is that it won't handle issues on your nails or scalp, but outside of this it receives phenomenal ratings from customers. It is fairly-priced and the FSA/HSA eligibility is a huge perk. Triple Paste AF is one of our top options when it comes to eradicating ringworm and has earned a high rating from us.
Lotrimin is a ringworm cream made by Bayer, a well-known German multinational company that manufactures pharmaceuticals, over-the-counter drugs, and diagnostic imaging tools, while also playing a role in crop science. The company is widely recognized for creating acetylsalicylic acid, also known as aspirin. Lotrimin is just one of hundreds of products that fall under the Bayer umbrella of products and brands.
Once a day usage
Lotrimin Ultra Ringworm Cream comes in a small 1.1 oz (30 gram) tube for topical application. It is marketed as being prescription strength and clinically proven to deal with most kinds of ringworm while reducing itching, scaling, burning, and cracking. For best results, customers are instructed to use Lotrimin once daily for 2 weeks. It is safe for people ages 12 and older.
Synthetic, but aggressive
Something Bayer is not known for is making homeopathic products that one would deem "natural". The active ingredient in Lotrimin is Butenafine Hydrochloride 1%, which specifically was made to prevent or kill fungus growth. This synthetic benzylamine derivative stops the activity of squalene epoxidase enzymes that are essential for the formation of sterols in fungal cell membranes (that's a mouthful... ). Essentially, it nips the issue in the bud and prevents further growth and spreading of the ringworm-causing fungus. If you want something completely gentle and natural, this is not it. However, if you want to take an aggressive approach to fighting your ringworm, that's what Lotrimin is for.
Contact Bayer directly
The cost for a tube of Lotrimin is $19.97 with the option for free shipping. Most types of products like this are non-returnable due to safety reasons, and Lotrimin is no exception. The product listing doesn't mention that you'll get your money back if you decide that Lotrimin was not effective, but since Bayer is such a big company, it's possible that they'd work with you if you reach out to them directly in the event you encounter an issue.
Positive results
The number of customer reviews for Lotrimin far exceeds many other competing products. We found over 9,500 reports from people who tried this out and left both written feedback and images regarding their experience. This product overall has really high reviews and people generally agree that you get good value for your money. It's said to have a cooling effect, deliver great itch relief, and start giving visible results quickly. The Better Business Bureau gives Bayer an "A+" rating, which is always good to see.
A reliable option
Overall, Lotrimin is definitely a reliable product that is affordable and likely to be effective for most cases of ringworm. We only foresee hesitations for people who want natural ingredients to target their ringworm issue, but otherwise this is an excellent choice for ringworm.
Forces of Nature was founded in 1999 with a bold vision to heal the world through effective, all-natural remedies. In 2011, the company became the first manufacturer of certified organic medicines. Their list of remedies spans far beyond targeting just ringworm. You can find formulas for acne, arthritis, brain health, hemorrhoids, shingles, stress, and so much more online. They have remedies for both adults and children, so regardless of what you're struggling with, you should check out Forces of Nature and see what natural options they have to help.
Tiny but mighty
The ringworm product from Forces of Nature comes in a small, .37 oz (11 ml) bottle with a dropper for application. It is meant to offer relief for all types of ringworm, including on the scalp. If you're dealing with itching, dry, scaly skin, it will help alleviate these uncomfortable sensations with use. By applying a thin layer on the affected areas of the skin three times per day, you should find relief from ringworm and prevent it from spreading further.
High standards
All of the products from Forces of Nature, including their ringworm product, are USDA-certified organic, FDA-registered, and manufactured in the USA. This is a vegan-friendly formula that works on a localized level by using concentrated botanicals to address the root cause of ringworm. The full list of ingredients includes Natrum Muriaticum 10X, Silicea 10X, Thuja Occidentalis 10X, Sesame Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Rose Geranium Oil, Thyme Oil, and Clove Oil.
Result times vary
Forces of Nature does not make any promises about how quickly their formula will get rid of ringworm. They say that depending on how long you've had the condition and the severity of it, results could vary. However, it shouldn't take more than a few days to see drastic changes for the better.
Affordable and non-returnable
We did not find any mention of a satisfaction guarantee for Forces of Nature's ringworm formula. It is also listed as non-returnable because it is subject to hazardous materials regulation. This doesn't necessarily mean the formula itself is hazardous, but oftentimes liquid tinctures and other creams and gels can fall under this category for a variety of other reasons. The cost of a single bottle is $14.69 with eligibility for free shipping, which is quite affordable, so it's not a huge financial loss if you don't end up using any or all of the bottle.
Tons of feedback
We found nearly 700 customer ratings for this ringworm formula from Forces of Nature. Overall, people said it is a little hit-or-miss as far as whether or not it completely gets rid of ringworm or all of the symptoms. The people who had the biggest issues with it generally seemed to have ringworm on their scalp, so this might not be the best product for that. However, for people with ringworm on other parts of the body, we mostly found positive reviews about how this works quickly and may even be better than pharmaceuticals. We're also happy to note that Forces of Nature has earned an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau.
Gentle and effective option
Like any type of cream, gel, ointment, or liquid for a skin infection, the ringworm product offered by Forces of Nature will require you to be really consistent in order to get the best results. Overall, we would recommend trying this for ringworm on parts of the body outside of the hairline just to be safe. We like that there are few ingredients in this liquid solution and that they are organic and homeopathic. And, as this is one of the most affordable options for ringworm, Forces of Nature gets our recommendation.
Hermon is a brand that focuses on creating products for skin health. Whether you're suffering from varicose veins, psoriasis, eczema, folliculitis, or a fungal infection like ringworm, they have formulated creams they believe will help. There isn't a lot of information available about the brand itself as far as how they got their start, when the company began, or where they are headed. However, they do have a series of products with hundreds of customers who vouch for their reliability through reviews.
Use twice daily
Hermon's Ringworm Treatment Cream comes in a 3.5 oz (100 gram) tube that is said to target the root cause of fungal infections and fight off stubborn ringworm, jock itch, eczema, tinea versicolor, and athlete's foot. To apply the ointment, it is recommended that you massage the cream into the affected area twice per day until it is absorbed. There is no black-and-white timeline for when your ringworm will be healed, but Hermon says you will feel the difference in your skin within a couple of days, and you should continue using the cream for 4 weeks.
Inexpensive, but non-returnable
A tube of Ringworm Treatment Cream is just $17.99 with a coupon for 20% off (though we can't promise this will always be available). As we've found with most other ringworm products, it is non-returnable due to safety reasons. Since Hermon doesn't promise satisfaction or offer your money back if this cream doesn't work, you can count on this product being final sale.
Review full ingredient list
The Ringworm Treatment Cream is suitable for both children and adults. The product description mentions that it is hypoallergenic, contains no harsh chemicals or parabens, and is gentle on the skin. A photo of the back of the product's box is provided with the full ingredient list for you to review. Things like Cnidium Monnier(l) Cuss, Pseudolarix Amabilis, Fructus Kochiae, and Sophora Flavescens are highlighted as useful primary ingredients - though we recognize that the average person (like us) will need to do some googling to understand what those ingredients are, where they come from, and how they work.
Mostly high ratings
This particular product is meant to be used on your head, face, beard, or other parts of the body that are affected by ringworm. The majority of people give this product 5 out of 5 stars for effectiveness, but it doesn't work for everyone. Customers report that a little goes a long way, it immediately dries out the spot you're using it on, and it works wonders with helping itching. The negatives of what we saw were that some people felt like they needed to use this in conjunction with another type of anti-fungal cream to really get rid of the ringworm for good, the formula can burn a little, and it takes a while to see results.
Seems to do the trick
For the most part, Hermon's Ringworm Treatment Cream seems to do the trick for a lot of people dealing with the frustrations of ringworm. It isn't a magically quick cure, but with diligent application, you should see positive changes within the 1-2 week window that Hermon gives. The product is affordable and we like that it's listed as safe for children too, so that you could keep it on hand for anyone in your household who might get infected. This isn't our top choice for fighting ringworm, but it's still a good one.
Infection protection and wound care, antifungal ointments, eczema and psoriasis relief, and balanitis relief are just a few of the categories of products under the Terrasil umbrella. Terrasil is owned and operated by Aidance Scientific, a privately-held pharmaceutical company based out of Rhode Island. They are proud to make products that are natural and chemical-free, to help support the body's ability to heal on its own.
Kills fungus in 30 seconds
Terrasil Ringworm Treatment comes in a narrow tube with 0.5 oz of cream that is to be used topically. It is said to have three times the power for fast-acting relief for scaly, cracked, red, irritated skin. A major pitch for this product is that it is supposed to kill off 99.99% of fungus within just 30 seconds. To apply the cream, users are instructed to wash and dry the affected skin, then apply a layer of ointment twice daily or as directed by a doctor. Be aware that this cream may temporarily discolor skin, nails, and fabric.
HSA/FSA eligible
If you have an HSA or FSA card, you're eligible to use it when you purchase Terrasil Ringworm Treatment. A single tube is $19.95 and eligible for free shipping. If you want to play it safe and buy a bigger size, you could opt for the 1.7 oz tube for $29.95 instead. Regardless of whether or not you actually use the ringworm product, it is non-returnable, so keep this in mind.
Safe for all ages
Aidance Scientific says that Terrasil Ringworm Treatment is safe for all ages. The one active ingredient is the antifungal Clotrimazole 1%. The list of inactive ingredients includes beeswax, organic coconut oil, cottonseed oil, jojoba, magnesium oxide, MCT oil, peppermint oil, sage oil, silver stearate, tea tree oil, witch hazel, and zinc oxide. Terrasil Ringworm Treatment is free of parabens, alcohols, dyes, fragrances, and steroids.
Good track record
Although Terrasil doesn't have its own Better Business Bureau rating, Aidance Scientific does. The company carries a strong "A+" rating, which we like to see. When used correctly, Terrasil Ringworm Treatment has a good track record of working well, based on over 1,700 ratings from customers. A few people did mention that it seemed to discolor the area of skin around where they applied the cream, but that's not the end of the world since it does wash off easily. Those who had really poor ratings of the cream were using it on animals, so as long as you stick to human use, Terrasil is not a bad option.
Give your consideration
Terrasil is a strong contender amidst a lot of other ringworm formulas. It's great that kids and adults can use this cream, and it seems to be quite effective. The price is what we'd expect, and since you're only using the cream twice a day, it should last quite a while. Being able to use your HSA/FSA is a big perk too, so we'd definitely recommend considering Terrasil when dealing with ringworm.
Phytozine is a brand of Sisquoc Healthcare, a company that has been creating natural short-term and long-term products since 2008. Their brands include Funginix, Ache Aid, Dalinex, Nail Max, Stop Nail Biting, Warticide, and Phytozine. Sisquoc Healthcare's products are manufactured and tested in Southern California, and they've reached nearly 2 million customers since their inception.
Instant itch relief
The Phytozine Extra Strength Antifungal Ringworm Treatment Cream is designed to provide quick relief from the itching and irritation caused by ringworm infections. The company boasts that it can work in as fast as 30 minutes, but the relief from itching should be instant. You'll need to apply Phytozine more frequently than some other products, since it is meant to be used topically every 3 hours. It is non-staining, but you should allow 3 minutes for the cream to fully absorb before covering it up with clothing again. It's unclear how long you should continue using Phytozine, but we assume it would be until your symptoms are gone and there is no longer the appearance of ringworm.
Buy more, save more
A tube of Phytozine Ringworm Treatment contains 1 oz (28 grams) of cream. A single tube costs $23.96, but you also have the option to purchase a pack of 2 for $39.96 or a pack of 3 for $49.96, which turns out to be the best value. It's not a bad idea to at least buy 2 tubes upfront, since you might go through this cream quickly with so many applications. The product is eligible for free shipping, so you don't have to worry about extra delivery costs.
Single active ingredient
The main ringworm-fighting ingredient in Phytozine is Tolnaftate, an antifungal medication that is used to fight a variety of fungal infections. Phytozine also has a long list of inactive ingredients like camphor, tea tree oil, menthol, lavender, cetyl alcohol, propolis extract, sodium polyacrylate, and many others. We recommend reading through the full list yourself to ensure you're comfortable with all that is included.
90-day money-back guarantee
It almost goes without saying that Phytozine Extra Strength Antifungal Ringworm Treatment Cream is non-returnable due to safety reasons. We've come to expect this with most ringworm products, so it's no surprise. However, unlike most other products, Phytozine actually has a 90-day money-back guarantee. The company says you can try out their product risk-free and if you're unsatisfied, you can reach out to them and get a full refund. We're big fans of this.
Mixed results
With over 5,000 customer reviews, it's safe to say that Phytozine Extra Strength Antifungal Ringworm Treatment Cream has been tried and tested. It appears that this formula works great for some and provides slow results for others. Not everyone agrees that it truly works within 30 minutes like the company claims. Some use it for weeks until they finally start seeing changes, so they don't feel like it is great for ringworm relief. Others say it does exactly what it is supposed to do, so this is definitely a product that will vary based on your skin type and the severity of your ringworm infection. On a positive note, Sisquoc Healthcare has an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau, so you can rest assured that this is a company you can trust.
No risk
The most redeeming feature of Phytozine Extra Strength Antifungal Ringworm Treatment Cream is that it comes with that 90-day money back guarantee. If you've recently discovered ringworm and get on top of it quickly, this product definitely could work for you. But if it doesn't? No problem. Contact the company, get your money back, and try a different highly-rated product that we've recommended.
Revitalize Life Organics is the company behind RingwormBLAST. They boast that they provide the finest oral and skin care products, with a belief that health and beauty come from nature. The company creates their formulas with the power of pure, natural ingredients to create products that are both effective and gentle. Their line of products is extensive, ranging from ringworm to hives and tooth powder elixirs.
Big promises
RingwormBLAST comes in a bright yellow 2 oz jar. It is said to swiftly and naturally eliminate redness, irritation, and itchiness from ringworm for good. The company boasts that it's "the most powerful ringworm cream on the market" even though the ingredients are 100% natural and gentle on skin. It's advised that for best results, customers apply the cream once per hour on the affected area for the first few days. Afterwards, you can use it less frequently (whatever that means) until the ringworm is completely gone. You should at least continue it for 2 weeks before deciding if it was totally effective or not.
Need ingredient clarification
It seems that one of the biggest selling points for RingwormBLAST is that the product is made in the USA, it is plant-based, there are no petroleum products, paraffin, parabens, mineral oil, dairy, gluten, soy, or other concerning ingredients. However, as much as we care what a product does not contain, we are also very interested in what it does use. Unfortunately, no ingredient list for RingwormBLAST is given, nor do any customer reviews state what they are. All we're given is that it is a proprietary blend of coconut oil, tea tree, lemon, eucalyptus, lemongrass, beeswax, and "other plant products". This sounds lovely, but is it all that's included? Are these ingredients strong enough together to really get rid of ringworm? It's totally unclear.
Guaranteed effectiveness
A container of RingwormBLAST is $19.95, which is pretty competitive from what we've seen. It qualifies for free shipping, but is non-returnable due to safety reasons. The company says that they are so confident in their product that they offer a "Ringworm Free Money Back Guarantee". The details of this are not spelled out, so we assume that after 2 weeks of diligent use, you can reach out to the company if you haven't seen significant results and get a refund.
Mixed reviews
There are over 1,100 customer ratings that we were able to read through to get a good idea of how well RingwormBLAST performs. This was helpful, since Revitalize Life Organics does not have a Better Business Bureau rating. It seemed like customer satisfaction was split nearly 50/50 on this product. A lot of people commented on its potent smell and some were frustrated that they only saw slight improvement. Others said that after trying other OTC ringworm products, this was the only one that finally worked. It will definitely depend on your case whether or not this is the magic cure for your ringworm.
Not entirely confident
We really like the idea of a gentle, plant-based, natural, affordable product for ringworm. It's great that this product comes with a money-back guarantee, is eligible for free shipping, and has a lot of customer reviews. What we don't love is the lack of information regarding its ingredients. Even if this is the most powerful cream out there, customers should know exactly what they are applying to their skin. Not only does the product not have ingredients listed in the description, it doesn't appear to be on the container label either. We aren't very comfortable with this, so RingwormBLAST has earned a below-average rating here.
FungiFree has a lineup of products that combat fungal infections and boost skin health. Besides the cream product that we've reviewed, they sell a topical cream that restores skin from eczema and psoriasis, a soap to aid in healing ringworm, a nail repair solution, and a nail rescue powder. If you want to go guns-a-blazin' to fight your ringworm, you could try using more than one of FungiFree's products in conjunction with each other.
Rapid relief
One of FungiFree's most popular products to deal with ringworm is their Maximum Strength Antifungal Ringworm Cream that comes in a 1.7 fl oz (50 g) tub. It aims to provide rapid relief from discomfort by soothing itching, scaling, soreness, burning, and irritation. The specific conditions it is meant to handle include ringworm, jock itch, and athlete's foot.
Herbal remedies meet modern research
The idea behind this FungiFree formula is to combine traditional herbal remedies with modern research for a fast-acting solution so that you'll see a difference within 1-2 weeks of consistent use. The company boasts that it is free of parabens, dyes, alcohol, and steroids. The three active ingredients include colloidal silver, menthol, and miconazole. Other ingredients like Mint Camphor, Honeysuckle, and Chrysanthemum help with soothing effects needed for total relief. However, we were a little disappointed to see that a full ingredient list wasn't provided with the product description. You would typically find it on the back of the container, but a photo isn't shown online.
Affordable with discount opportunities
A single tub of FungiFree's Maximum Strength Antifungal Ringworm Cream costs $19.99. At the time of this review, a 20% off coupon was also offered, but we can't be sure this is an option all of the time. The product is eligible for free shipping, which is fantastic. However, it's important to note that due to safety reasons, it is non-returnable and does not appear to come with a satisfaction guarantee.
Unclear directions
We would hope that a single tub of the Maximum Strength Antifungal Ringworm Cream would be more than enough to last you through a full ringworm episode. It's unusual that a company doesn't list the usage directions with their product online, but we found that to be the case here. We can't be sure if you should apply this once daily or more, so it's hard to be sure how long a single tub will last.
Not 100% reliable reviews
We don't often come across products that receive a full 5 out of 5 stars from customers, but we did here. The catch is that all but one single review are from customers who received a free product in exchange for their feedback. This ultimately sways people's opinions, since they had no skin in the game (pun intended) and paid nothing for the cream. Since this is a fairly new product, there will likely be more reviews in the coming months and years from paying customers that will be more reliable. Plus, FungiFree is not rated by the Better Business Bureau, so this is another non-helpful detail.
Some reservations
We're pretty sure that Maximum Strength Antifungal Ringworm Cream could do you some good. The reason this product hasn't earned one of our top spots is because they don't have a full ingredient list shown, results may take longer than some other formulas provide, and they don't have a lot of unbiased customer reviews yet. It's probably not a bad idea to test out this product, but there are more tried and true ones that we'd go for first.
iShanCare describes itself as a leader and innovator in skin care. Their list of products boasts things to help with itching, hemorrhoids, eczema, wound care, skin ulcers, bed sores, urticaria, folliculitis, pain relief, and ringworm. Little is published about iShanCare as a company so we are left with questions about who runs the business, how long they've been around, and what their general company practices are, which we typically like to see before making a purchase.
Multi-use cream
The ringworm cream formulated by iShanCare is said to relieve pain, itchiness, and swelling. It comes in a 3.53 oz (100 gram) container and is effective for ringworm, athlete's foot, tinea versicolor, and other various skin fungal infections. The ringworm cream is supposed to be non-greasy and easily absorbed into the skin for mess-free application and maximum results.
Massage topically twice daily
To use the ringworm cream, customers are instructed to thoroughly clean and dry the area affected by ringworm. Next, they should apply iShanCare's cream twice daily and massage it into the skin well. It will take about 3-4 minutes before the product is fully absorbed into the skin, and it won't rub off on clothing or anything else.
Pricier than some
We wouldn't consider iShanCare's ringworm cream to be expensive, but it is pricier than a lot of other ringworm products we've discovered. A single jar is $28.99 and eligible for free shipping. Unsurprisingly, this ringworm formula is non-returnable due to safety reasons and the company does not promise your money back if the product is ineffective, so keep this in mind before placing an order.
Relying on customers for ingredients
We always feel extra cautious when a company doesn't list the ingredients in their product. Are they hiding something? What if we're allergic to or uncomfortable with the formula? This is important information and we weren't able to obtain it from the product listing from iShanCare, which we give a big thumbs down to. Luckily a customer posted it in their review (which doesn't guarantee accuracy since sometimes formulas change over time), but from what we saw, the only active ingredient is colloidal oatmeal 1%. The inactive ingredients listed include Purify Water, Sophora Flavescens Root, Cnidium Monnieri Fruit, Phellodendron Chinese Whole, Dictamnus Dasycarpus Root, Stellera Chamaejasme Whole, and Bassia Scoparia Fruit . These natural ingredients should be gentle on skin and we don't see anything that would alert us to be concerned over harsh chemicals of any kind.
Consult a doctor for young ones
The photo of iShanCare's ringworm cream box also says that you should consult a doctor before using the product on children under the age of 2. This tells us that, for most people, this is a suitable ringworm option.
Incentivized reviews
There were only 9 customer reviews of this ringworm cream when we were shopping. All of them were from people who received free product from iShanCare in return for their review, so this makes us slightly less trusting of their authenticity. Some reviews simply described the product rather than how well it worked, so those weren't helpful. Others said that it is a safe, herbal remedy for ringworm that may take longer than conventional medicine, but is still effective. No one gave any sort of timeline about how quickly this product resolved their ringworm from the time they started it to the time they discontinued use.
Looking for more
There is no Better Business Bureau rating for iShanCare and we don't feel entirely confident in the company since we know almost nothing about them. They have a solid list of remedies for skin ailments, but for the ringworm cream, there haven't been enough authentic customer reviews for us to know how effective this is. We don't like that there isn't a full ingredient list or that they don't say anything about how long you should expect to use this cream before seeing results. Overall, we are looking for more in a ringworm product, and since this is more expensive than some others, iShanCare isn't an option we'd choose.
Continued from above...
Overall, it's actually quite a common fungal infection with more than 3 million reported cases each year that can affect the hair, skin, or nails and is mostly found on the buttocks, arms, legs, or trunk. However, once you've contracted it, you need to figure out how to get rid of it as soon as possible to avoid further discomfort and prevent further spreading.
There are some basic recommendations for preventing ringworm altogether like avoiding contact with people you know have the condition, washing your hands frequently, keeping hands and feet clean and dry, wearing shoes in locker rooms and public showers, and disinfecting shared objects in public places like towels, workout equipment, and mats.
Although it's not too hard to self-diagnose ringworm, it would require a medical diagnosis if you wanted a prescription medication to eradicate it. This takes time and is often much more expensive than over-the-counter options available to you. There are a lot of companies that have formulated creams, gels, and pastes to gently, comfortably get rid of ringworm without having to go the prescription route. Many of them come with a money-back guarantee and reviews from other users to help you select the right one.
