Sometimes we don't think about unfortunate circumstances like a car breaking down until they happen and we are left without options. It's important to plan ahead and evaluate which of the many Roadside Assistance plans fit your circumstances so that you don't have to worry about unforeseen car troubles that will inevitably happen. Good Sam offers automobile and RV Roadside Assistance coverage. You can choose from 6 different plans that fit your lifestyle and budget the best. There are no towing mileage limits and extra family members are covered under your plan at no additional cost. Prices for yearly memberships start as low as $49.95/year and include the same services that their competitors do along with other membership perks. With an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau and thousands of happy customers, Good Sam earns our highest rating.
Better World Club is dedicated to providing auto insurance and Roadside Assistance to customers while also protecting the environment. They donate 1% of their proceeds to environmental cleanup and advocacy and their operations are carbon-neutral. They have two auto Roadside Assistance plans and one for bicyclists. They're a reliable company with a solid "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau and an impressive mission.
Best Roadside Service has an "A-" rating from the Better Business Bureau and most customers have good things to say about their experience with the company. They have an average of a 42 minute response time for customers who are stuck on the road and need assistance with towing, fuel delivery, tire changes, winching, and other issues. They have a strict policy that doesn't allow for refunds on yearly memberships once a service has been used, and their individual and vehicle plans could get pricey for big families, but overall this is a really good option for Roadside Assistance.
CARCHEX is a well-known company that has long been offering extended auto warranties, vehicle inspections, and now Roadside Assistance. They have an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau and plenty of great customer reviews as well. At the time of our most recent visit, their 3 Roadside Assistance plans were sold out, but they were both affordable and flexible for different family situations. We recommend checking back in the future and signing up if their service becomes available.
Allstate is a well-known insurance company that has been in business over 90 years. Their Roadside Assistance service can be purchased as a plan or on a pay-per-use basis. Their plans are reasonably priced, but don't include a lot of specific information about how much mileage you get per tow or how to cancel if you need to. They only have a "B" rating from the Better Business Bureau and seem to have upset a lot of customers with their slow towing services. This isn't a bad place to find Roadside Assistance, but it isn't our first choice.
Auto Road Service offers some basic Roadside Assistance plans that include generous towing mileage, battery jumps, flat tire assistance, fuel delivery, lockout service, and everything else that comes standard through most providers. They have fabulous reviews, but their website is confusing. Plan pricing does not make sense and a lot of their membership details aren't straightforward. We think this company has potential, but you'll want to talk to customer service to get all your facts straight before signing up.
AAA Roadside Assistance is a well-known company that offers 3 straightforward plans as well as many membership perks. All plans come with towing, car battery service, emergency fuel delivery, and locksmith reimbursement. Unfortunately, the towing services offer weak mileage compared to some higher rated companies. In addition, AAA has an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau and hundreds of unhappy customers who warn others not to rely on getting the help you need from them in an emergency. The amount of detailed, bad reports about AAA has put them further down our list of recommended Roadside Assistance providers than we would have liked.
Paragon Motor Club seems to provide all the basic services that you would expect from a roadside assistance company. Their prices aren't cheaper than what we've seen elsewhere and they don't offer details about their membership benefits like hotel discounts, travel perks, or rental cars. We don't know a lot about the history of this company and their website is exhausting to look at. We recommend getting roadside assistance coverage elsewhere.
It seems that Blink has some details to get in order before they are easily accessible for customers. They say they operate on a mobile app, but it isn't currently available. To contact them for towing, flat tire repair, jump-starts or any other Roadside Service, you can go directly to their website. However, there is no number for customer service, their pricing is unclear, and they do require credit card information upfront. Until this company becomes more transparent in their practices, we don't recommend using them.
You can customize your plans with additional add-ons like trip interruption coverage or even financial assistance with legal defense help if you get a speeding ticket. The cost for Roadside Assistance will depend on the plan you choose. Most plans allow for you to use your coverage regardless of who owns the car you're driving and you can easily get protection for the whole family.
