Ruggable Review 4 Star Rating

Ruggable

4 Star Rating
  • Starting at $169
  • 2,258 rug choices
  • Machine-washable and non-slip
  • Free shipping
  • 30-day return policy
  • Positive unfiltered customer reviews on site

In 2017, Ruggable's founder, Jeneva Bell, set out to create premium-style rugs that also feel livable. She grew up in a stylish home with a lot of beautiful things, but always felt like she had to be careful so that everything stayed "nice”. With Ruggable, you don't have to worry about cleaning up messes since you can easily throw all of their rugs into the washing machine and have them come out good as new.

Machine-washable and non slip

Besides being machine-washable, Ruggable is proud that their rugs are non-slip, interchangeable, and come in thousands of designs. In total, there are 2,258 choices here, all of which are beautiful and one-of-a-kind. In this selection you'll find a mix of outdoor rugs, bath mats, doormats, and indoor rugs. You can shop by size and see little illustrated layouts that Ruggable has made to show how you might arrange furniture and envision your space with certain dimensions. You can also choose the color you're going for, style, texture, collaboration, and browse best sellers. If you aren't sure where to start, you might want to take their rug quiz to help identify the best options.

Rugs starting at $169

A lot of rug stores have repeat brands and patterns, but Ruggable has a lot of choices you won't find anywhere else. All of them are beautiful and it's truly an enjoyable experience to shop here. Most of the rugs come in area sizes between 2' x 3' and 10' x 14'. They also have sizes for runners and some designs come in circular sizing as well. Pricing ranges from $169 for a small 2' x 3' rug to $1,049 for a 10' x 14'. Standard shipping is free, which we're always on board with.

First purchase includes a rug pad

When you make your first purchase, you'll also buy the Ruggable rug pad that your rug cover adheres to for the non-slip feature. This rug pad is something you only need to buy once because in the future if you choose other Ruggable designs of the same size, you can switch them out and use the same base pad underneath. You'll choose between a standard or cushioned rug pad depending on how much traffic the rug will get.

Excellent product listings

Ruggable does a great job of highlighting each product with photos of it in different sizes and in different types of rooms. They have detailed descriptions about the materials and rug cover choices to make sure you make the perfect selection for your room that will last a long time. One of the best product details they've added are customer reviews on each rug. People can add a rating out of 5 stars and describe their experience with the company and how satisfied they are with the rugs themselves. A lot of people have also added photos of their rug in their home, which is beneficial because you can view the designs in different lighting, see them with a mix of furniture, and compare how similar they are to the website photos.

Processing fees

The one thing we don't love about Ruggable is their return policy. It's not a huge deal, but they do charge a $25 processing fee on every return. You can return or exchange within 30 days of the delivery date as long as it's in new condition with no signs of use. We just don't love spending money on nothing, so processing fees are a bummer. However, you should have enough information and reviews from Ruggable's website to make a good decision on your first go around and not have to deal with returns (hopefully).

Mostly high reviews

We have to admit we were a bit surprised and less than excited to find that Ruggable has a "C-” rating from the Better Business Bureau. The reason for this rating is the complaints filed against the company. After reading stories from disgruntled customers from third-party sites, it was clear that a huge reason people end up unhappy with Ruggable is because they make it really hard to return merchandise. Some people say it's hard to request a return in the first place and even within the 30-day return window they're sometimes denied. However, the overwhelming majority of reviews are extremely positive, so we aren't dissuaded by the negative ones. If you look at the reviews on each product, you'll find they are mostly 5 out of 5 stars.

Big fans from personal experience

We've personally experienced seeing a dirty Ruggable get thrown into a washing machine and come out looking bright, clean, and practically brand new. We're impressed with how well these come clean and hold up over time in high traffic areas, with kids, and pets. Ruggable's designs are some of our very favorites and their range of sizes is a huge plus. It makes sense why this company has grown so quickly and we are big fans of them. Ruggable has earned a commendable rating.

Where is the Best Place to Purchase a Rug Online?

When you're putting finishing touches on a room you're decorating, adding a rug can be a major statement piece. It can tie all the colors and accents in a room together while cozying up your space. Whether you want a bold, noticeable rug or just one for practicality to protect some of your flooring, you could spend hours looking through all the options out there. Rugs come in all sizes, materials, and levels of cushion.

The perfect rug is out there, you just have to know where to find it. But there's no need to spend hours or even days driving around to all the stores in the area looking at the rugs they have to offer. These days, most stores only carry a handful or so of rug styles and sizes, so the only way to get a wide variety of designs and sizes that can adapt to your space is to shop online.

Rug Store FAQ

Great question! Start by measuring the area you'd like to cover. Next, determine what patterns or colors you're looking for: are you making a bold statement or trying to quietly complement the rest of your decor? Finally, decide on your budget! From there, you can use the filtering options on most rug websites to narrow down the possibilities and find your perfect match.
Buying your rug online puts the world's best selection at your fingertips. Inventory at local stores can be extremely limited, so use the internet to get exactly what you want - probably at the best price! You can also get plenty of helpful information to guide your decision-making, like the differences between handmade and machine-made rugs or Oriental and Persian rugs, how to clean a rug, and so on.
You might be nervous about buying your next rug online, sight unseen. Don't be! You'll find ample descriptions on most retailers' websites to help you picture exactly what you're getting. But, if your rug is delivered and it's just not what you were expecting, most stores have a return policy of at least 30 days. Just be aware that you may have to pay a restocking fee and/or return shipping costs, depending on the retailer.
How does "$0” sound? The vast majority of online rug stores offer free shipping within the lower 48 United States (and a small number extend that to Alaska and Hawaii as well!).
Whatever you do, don't pull on the thread/fiber! Clip it at the source instead.
The longevity of any rug depends on several factors: how well it's made and what it's made of, how much traffic the area gets (e.g. pets, people, furniture), and where it's placed. The highest-quality rugs can last long enough to become a family heirloom, with the proper care.
It's not strictly necessary, but it's a good idea. Using a rug pad will protect the flooring underneath, add extra cushioning, and also offer better traction so that your rug doesn't slip around on the floor.
Regular upkeep includes vacuuming once a week to remove any dirt and dust, assuming you have the type of rug that can be vacuumed at all! Smaller rugs can be taken outside and shaken. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for your rug, which may include a professional cleaning every few years.

Continued from above...

You'll find tens of thousands of choices on the internet, so it's important to find a website that helps you narrow down what could be an overwhelming selection. You'll be able to input the colors, patterns, size, material, and shape that you've got in mind and have exactly what you're looking for right at your fingertips.

It can be hard to choose between so many beautiful rugs, so some companies let you upload a photo of the room you're decorating and visualize it before making a purchase. Some high-end rug stores also have specialists you can chat with who can help you make the right selection. Not all of us feel confident in our interior design skills, so it's a big help to get second opinions.

Even after thoughtful deliberation, you may still purchase a rug you're not in love with. Once you lay it out in your room, you usually have at least 30 days to return it for either a full refund or an exchange. Be sure to read the fine print about each rug company and see if they offer free returns or if you'll have to fork out the money to send a potentially heavy and large rug back. That could be expensive!

Rugs are one of the most exciting things to shop for when you're sprucing up a space. You can even change them out to decorate for different holidays and seasonal decor. So if you can't decide on just one rug you want, you have our permission to splurge and buy a few. When you're browsing selections online, keep the following things in mind:

  • Selection. Does the company give you plenty of design variations, sizes, and color options? To find the perfect rug, you need as many options to choose from as possible. Find a retailer that has a huge inventory but also makes it easy to sort through it all.
  • Return policy. How long do you have to decide whether or not you are satisfied with the rug? Does the company offer free returns? Ideally you'll want to avoid restocking fees, so watch out for these as well.
  • Customer satisfaction. What have customers said about the company? Do they have reviews on each individual rug with photos from other buyers? Pay attention to the Better Business Bureau rating for the company and reviews from people on third-party sites.

You're about to dive into a huge world of rugs you never even knew existed. Top Consumer Reviews has researched everything you need to know about the best rug companies you can buy from online. We hope this information helps you find beautiful rugs that make a great addition to your space.
