Super Area Rugs is a family-owned and operated rug store full of rug enthusiasts. The idea for the company originated in 2010 when the founders visited India and felt struck by the beauty and creativity of rugs made by local artisans. The colors and patterns were unlike any they'd seen before and they were totally captivated. Taking the inspiration from these rug artisans in India, Super Area Rugs was launched in 2015 to provide Turkish rugs made of the finest materials to customers all around the country.

Small, simple selection

Super Area Rugs has a collection of both indoor and outdoor rugs on their website. Their inventory isn't nearly as vast as some of the highest-rated rug stores we've looked into since they only have 264 indoor rugs. There are 96 outdoor rugs, 15 machine-washable rugs, and 4 types of rug pads you could add to your order. Like with many other rug retailers, you can select rugs here based on color, size, style, material, price, shape, and weave. Sizes range from 2' x 3' to 12' x 15' with the majority of rugs being 5' x' 8' and 8' x 10'. Most of the rugs here are rectangular and made of polypropylene.

Not very unique

Most of the styles from Super Area Rugs look like they'd work best in a living room, office, or kitchen. They don't have bright printed rugs for a kids' play area or bedroom and many of the patterns we noticed were similar to or the same as what we've found on other websites. The selection here isn't very unique or quite as beautiful as what you can get from their competitors, unfortunately.

Nothing is too pricey

The cheapest rug from Super Area Rugs is $15.99 and the most expensive is $829. However, the second most expensive rug is just $399, so that tells you that the majority of these rugs are well under even that. You could easily find a big, pretty rug here for under $200. If you want to sign up for emails from Super Area Rugs, they'll give you a 10% off code in return, plus the company often runs sales where you can save 15% or so off of everything anyway, so more often than not you'll probably pay less than full price. Another perk is that they offer free shipping sitewide.

30-day returns and 90-day warranty

Super Area Rugs has a 30-day return policy and interestingly, all the products are listed as having a 90-day warranty as well. We aren't entirely sure of the fine print of the warranty since it isn't laid out anywhere, but assuming they'll replace it within the first 3 months if there's an issue with craftsmanship, that's pretty awesome. We haven't seen warranties through many other rug retailers.

Few ratings, but overall positive

Super Area Rugs deserves some kudos for having an "A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau. We love to see it! They also have good customer reviews, though not nearly as many as some competitors have. Their products show that customers can leave ratings on them, but very few rugs have actually been rated. From what people say, Super Area Rugs typically provides high-quality rugs and has reliable delivery and customer service.

Decent option, but not our favorite

There's no reason not to consider a rug from Super Area Rugs if you find one you like. However, they are clearly not as popular as some other rug stores we've reviewed. Their selection is much smaller than you'll find somewhere else and the styles don't vary as much either. You can definitely get a good price on a rug here and we like that shipping is free, so Super Area Rugs is a decent place to shop.

Where is the Best Place to Purchase a Rug Online?

When you're putting finishing touches on a room you're decorating, adding a rug can be a major statement piece. It can tie all the colors and accents in a room together while cozying up your space. Whether you want a bold, noticeable rug or just one for practicality to protect some of your flooring, you could spend hours looking through all the options out there. Rugs come in all sizes, materials, and levels of cushion.

The perfect rug is out there, you just have to know where to find it. But there's no need to spend hours or even days driving around to all the stores in the area looking at the rugs they have to offer. These days, most stores only carry a handful or so of rug styles and sizes, so the only way to get a wide variety of designs and sizes that can adapt to your space is to shop online.

Rug Store FAQ

Great question! Start by measuring the area you'd like to cover. Next, determine what patterns or colors you're looking for: are you making a bold statement or trying to quietly complement the rest of your decor? Finally, decide on your budget! From there, you can use the filtering options on most rug websites to narrow down the possibilities and find your perfect match.
Buying your rug online puts the world's best selection at your fingertips. Inventory at local stores can be extremely limited, so use the internet to get exactly what you want - probably at the best price! You can also get plenty of helpful information to guide your decision-making, like the differences between handmade and machine-made rugs or Oriental and Persian rugs, how to clean a rug, and so on.
You might be nervous about buying your next rug online, sight unseen. Don't be! You'll find ample descriptions on most retailers' websites to help you picture exactly what you're getting. But, if your rug is delivered and it's just not what you were expecting, most stores have a return policy of at least 30 days. Just be aware that you may have to pay a restocking fee and/or return shipping costs, depending on the retailer.
How does "$0” sound? The vast majority of online rug stores offer free shipping within the lower 48 United States (and a small number extend that to Alaska and Hawaii as well!).
Whatever you do, don't pull on the thread/fiber! Clip it at the source instead.
The longevity of any rug depends on several factors: how well it's made and what it's made of, how much traffic the area gets (e.g. pets, people, furniture), and where it's placed. The highest-quality rugs can last long enough to become a family heirloom, with the proper care.
It's not strictly necessary, but it's a good idea. Using a rug pad will protect the flooring underneath, add extra cushioning, and also offer better traction so that your rug doesn't slip around on the floor.
Regular upkeep includes vacuuming once a week to remove any dirt and dust, assuming you have the type of rug that can be vacuumed at all! Smaller rugs can be taken outside and shaken. Follow the manufacturer's recommendations for your rug, which may include a professional cleaning every few years.

Continued from above...

You'll find tens of thousands of choices on the internet, so it's important to find a website that helps you narrow down what could be an overwhelming selection. You'll be able to input the colors, patterns, size, material, and shape that you've got in mind and have exactly what you're looking for right at your fingertips.

It can be hard to choose between so many beautiful rugs, so some companies let you upload a photo of the room you're decorating and visualize it before making a purchase. Some high-end rug stores also have specialists you can chat with who can help you make the right selection. Not all of us feel confident in our interior design skills, so it's a big help to get second opinions.

Even after thoughtful deliberation, you may still purchase a rug you're not in love with. Once you lay it out in your room, you usually have at least 30 days to return it for either a full refund or an exchange. Be sure to read the fine print about each rug company and see if they offer free returns or if you'll have to fork out the money to send a potentially heavy and large rug back. That could be expensive!

Rugs are one of the most exciting things to shop for when you're sprucing up a space. You can even change them out to decorate for different holidays and seasonal decor. So if you can't decide on just one rug you want, you have our permission to splurge and buy a few. When you're browsing selections online, keep the following things in mind:

  • Selection. Does the company give you plenty of design variations, sizes, and color options? To find the perfect rug, you need as many options to choose from as possible. Find a retailer that has a huge inventory but also makes it easy to sort through it all.
  • Return policy. How long do you have to decide whether or not you are satisfied with the rug? Does the company offer free returns? Ideally you'll want to avoid restocking fees, so watch out for these as well.
  • Customer satisfaction. What have customers said about the company? Do they have reviews on each individual rug with photos from other buyers? Pay attention to the Better Business Bureau rating for the company and reviews from people on third-party sites.

You're about to dive into a huge world of rugs you never even knew existed. Top Consumer Reviews has researched everything you need to know about the best rug companies you can buy from online. We hope this information helps you find beautiful rugs that make a great addition to your space.
