Amazing Clubs is a well-established presence in the online club industry and the leading supplier of gourmet clubs in the United States. Their Salsa of the Month Club is no exception to their high standards. Every month, members receive two jars of small-batch, hand-crafted salsas from different parts of the globe. These salsas are carefully selected by Amazing Clubs' team of taste-testing experts and are made with fresh, all-natural ingredients by skilled salsa artisans worldwide.

Lots of membership options

Let's start by saying we love absolutely everything about Amazing Clubs as a whole. You'll have a hard time finding any membership club that gives you the flexibility and service you'll find here. For example, your club options include plans of three, six, and twelve months of deliveries that can be set up with a monthly or every-other-month frequency. So, if you wanted salsa on the regular but maybe you only go through a jar a month, signing up for the year-long plan on a bimonthly frequency would get you two jars every other month - for two years. There's also a seasonal plan, if you'd like to space your shipments out even further.

Pay upfront or monthly

Payment options are easy-breezy here too. You can pay it all upfront or choose to pay for each month's delivery as it happens, and there's no difference in cost either way. Amazing Clubs always seems to offer discounts too - just watch for pop-ups as you browse (or pretend like you're going to close your browser if you want to nudge the site to give you a deal). Be aware that once this company gets your email address, you will receive quite a few offers in your inbox too. In fact, as we were writing this review, we got an email offering $21 off any six-month club and $41 off any 12-month plan.

Affordably priced and shipping is free

So, what will your salsa club cost through Amazing Clubs? The three-month and seasonal plans are priced at $28.95/month, the six-month membership is $27.95/month, and the 12-month plan is $26.95/month - assuming you don't apply any of those discounts we mentioned earlier. All of Amazing Clubs' plans come with free shipping in the continental US.

Easy to skip a month if needed

This service takes the "it's a surprise... kinda" approach to your monthly salsa club selections. You'll always get something new, carefully selected and taste-tested - but you'll be told in advance what's scheduled to come in your box. If you see something you don't like (or that maybe you're allergic to), you can opt to skip that month's delivery and have your membership extended by another month. That's also a solid option if you know you're going to be out of town -Amazing Clubs always delivers the last week of the month - or if maybe you haven't eaten the last month's salsas yet and need some time to catch up.

Best Salsa Clubs

Check out the club's previous salsa selections

You can also check out the Previous Selections tab on the Salsa Club page, to get a sneak peek at what your membership might include. (Insider tip: we've found across several Amazing Clubs we've received that some customer favorites get brought back from year to year.) There's no guarantees that you'll get a repeat of Texas Triangle Groves' Tomatillo Salsa or Hot Wachula's Sweet Peach Salsa, but your mouth will be watering as you see all of the different varieties and artisans that have been in Amazing Clubs' previous deliveries.

Fantastic for gift-giving

Best of all, Amazing Clubs does gift-giving right. Need to schedule a club several months in advance (so that you don't forget that birthday or anniversary again)? No problem: right on the main page where you select the club length, you can also specify which month you want the deliveries to start. Want to send a personalized gift announcement? Absolutely. You can have Amazing Clubs send something by mail or email on the date you indicate, or you can print one out yourself to give in person (and, no one has to know that you set it up five minutes before the party started).

Fun newsletter with recipes and more

Whether you're gifting this salsa club or treating yourself, each shipment will come with the Sliced and Diced newsletter. Learn all about the makers of your two salsa selections, get fun facts about your favorite chip topper, and maybe try a new recipe or two.

Ironclad satisfaction guarantee

It shouldn't be a surprise that people love Amazing Clubs. More than three million people have chosen this company to deliver an incredible array of savory and sweet treats, and you'll see that most clubs (including salsa) average at least 4.5 out of 5 stars. Customers rave about Amazing Clubs' satisfaction guarantee - in their experience and in our own, this company stands behind their deliveries 100% and will do whatever is needed to make it right if there's a problem. Fortunately, it's rare to have an issue with a shipment here, but rest assured that you won't have to whine or beg to get a solution if one of your jars arrives cracked or there's a salsa that just doesn't taste quite right.

#1 among salsa clubs - again

Once again, Amazing Clubs comes in as our #1 pick among salsa clubs. You can't beat the quality of the products, the super-flexible membership options, the beyond-easy gift-giving options, and the excellent track record of customer service. What are you waiting for? Get your favorite tortilla chips ready and start your Amazing Clubs adventure with salsa.

Salsa Express Review 4.5 Star Rating

Salsa Express

4.5 Star Rating
  • Priced from $49.99 to $264.99 (3-12 months of deliveries)
  • Free shipping
  • Choose 1 or 2 jars per shipment
  • Choose club lengths of 3, 6, 9, or 12 months
  • Can specify salsa heat level: mild to medium or medium to hot (or no preference)
  • Chips and Salsa Club is another option
  • 96% of customers rate this club with 4 or 5 stars

Salsa Express is part of the Month Club family of subscriptions, in operation since 1991. Their salsa club offers a range of flavorful and distinctive salsas on a monthly basis.

Hard to find salsas

The team searches for salsas that are truly unique from smaller regional producers, offering members a selection of products not typically found at local grocery stores. To discover these exceptional salsas, the club attends food shows and interacts with industry insiders. The team not only taste tests the selections but also meets with the creators and listens to their stories. The club's commitment to sourcing the best and most unique salsas sets them apart and ensures that members and gift recipients receive a diverse and delicious selection each month. And, PS: you might want to check out Salsa Express' Chips and Salsa Club if you want the complete snack package on your doorstep each time.

Lots of options to consider

You might feel a little confused at first, when looking at the pricing options for the salsa clubs at Salsa Express, but we'll break it down nice and easy for you. Your first decision is whether you'd like to get (or send) one or two jars each month. See, easy! Next, choose whether you want to subscribe for 3, 6, 9, or 12 months. Finally, indicate if you prefer mild to medium heat, medium to hot, or if you have no preference and just want to roll the dice. There's also a dropdown box if you want a different delivery frequency - maybe you want 12 months of shipments but only every other month? - and you can also choose a start month anywhere over the next year (early Christmas shoppers, looking at you here).

Very affordable

So, what will it cost? Take a look:

  • 3-month plans: $49.99 for one jar, $69.99 for two jars
  • 6-month plans: $96.99 for one jar, $134.99 for two jars
  • 9-month plans: $141.99 for one jar, $199.99 for two jars
  • 12-month plans: $184.99 for one jar, $264.99 for two jars

Salsa Express doesn't come right out and say it, but you'll get free delivery on any salsa club you choose. Gotta love that!

Easy gift-giving features

It's no problem to send Salsa Express' club as a gift. In that dropdown, you can opt to have a personalized greeting sent via email at no charge, or if you'd like it to be sent to you or the recipient via USPS for a fee of $0.99. If you've chosen any of those greeting options, enter your greeting and the email address (if applicable).

Most customers give this club five stars

We were glad to see that even with the switch from the Month Club look and feel of the storefront to the more focused Salsa Express "face" of the business, nothing has changed with respect to customer satisfaction. There were over 200 reviews just for Salsa Express, with almost 100% of customers offering a 4- or 5-star rating. Shoppers praise the careful packaging, fast delivery, and, above all, the excellent selection and flavor of the salsas here.

Excellent choice among salsa clubs

So why settle for bland, grocery store salsa when you can enjoy the best of the best? The Salsa of the Month Club from Salsa Express is a top contender on our list, and it's sure to be a hit with your taste buds or as a gift for your fellow salsa lovers. Don't miss out on the opportunity to heat up your palate and take your salsa game to the next level.

Made in New Mexico Review 4 Star Rating

Made in New Mexico

4 Star Rating
  • Priced at $15.95 per month
  • Comes with two jars per delivery
  • Shipping fees of approximately $8.75 + $1 for Route protection
  • Some gift-giving options available
  • No commitment required; cancel at any time
  • Lots of five-star reviews

Bet you'll never guess what they sell at Made in New Mexico. Naturally, this store offers handmade gifts, Spanish and Native American arts and crafts, turquoise and silver jewelry, and, of course, food. The company operates a brick-and-mortar store on the Historic Plaza in Taos, but you'll have no problem getting your monthly salsa fix through their online shop.

It's a surprise every month

You won't know what you're getting in advance here, so this is a good club if you believe that variety is the spice of life (see what we did there?). Each delivery comes with two jars of salsa made by independent producers, like Santa Fe Ole and Jesusita's. You could get some of Made in New Mexico's tried and true favorites or something brand new in the repertoire. There's no lengthy commitment here either: sign up for the salsa club, see how you like it, cancel whenever you choose.

Most affordable of the salsa clubs

Made in New Mexico's salsa club is very competitively priced at $15.95 per month for two jars. Yes, you'll have shipping fees - in our area, it was $8.75 per shipment - and you'll need to add Route package protection for $0.98 if you want a refund on packages that are lost or damaged. But even with those fees added on, this is still one of the best values in salsa clubs on the market.

Watch for discount offers

Look for a pop-up as you browse the Made in New Mexico store. During our most recent visit, we got a discount of 10% if we signed up for their email list. We also spotted a discount offer on the page after we browsed for a while and moved the cursor as if we were going to leave the site; it was the same 10% off, but no email subscription was required, just a code to enter at checkout.

Best Salsa Clubs

Some gift-giving features

There are a couple of gift-giving options available here. You can pay $10.95 to have your first delivery gift wrapped. You can also specify a message in the box on the checkout page. By the way, that's also where you should let Made in New Mexico know your heat preference, if any (mild, medium, hot).

Many five-star reviews from happy customers

We enjoyed reading through the couple dozen reviews of the salsa club posted to the Made in New Mexico site. Those ratings averaged 4.8 out of 5 stars, pretty evenly mixed between people who were excited to send the flavors of New Mexico to friends and family in other places and those who were equally jazzed to have this club for themselves.

Solid choice as a salsa club

Made in New Mexico's salsa club is a solid contender. You get more for your money than with most other subscriptions, and customers have nothing but praise for the quality of the salsa and the customer service. It's not quite as robust as our #1 pick, especially with respect to gift-giving, but overall you won't be disappointed if you go with Made in New Mexico for your monthly salsa shipments.

Hank's Salsa Co. Review 3 Star Rating

Hank's Salsa Co.

3 Star Rating
  • Priced from $19.48 to $34.85/month
  • Shipping fees around $20 per delivery
  • Pay as you go
  • Shipments can include 2, 3, or 4 jars of salsa
  • Salsas need to be refrigerated upon arrival

What's the story behind Hank's Salsa Co.? In 1999, Hank had a vision of creating the world's best-tasting salsa and spent 20 years experimenting with different spices and ingredients to develop a unique formula. Despite trying 22 different ingredients, nothing quite satisfied their taste buds until they finally landed on a blend of 29. The resulting original salsa was hot and spicy yet bursting with flavor, and the company aims to be "the best salsa in the world."

Get 2-4 jars per month - but shipping is spendy

Hank's Salsa Co. is one of the only salsa clubs that lets you choose whether you'd like to receive two, three, or four jars each month. Hey, we get it: maybe you and your family go through a jar a week. You'll pay $19.48 per month for the two-jar box, $27.68 for three, and $34.85 for four. Be aware that you don't get free shipping here: in our area, our delivery fees were $19.35 per delivery, which is just a few cents short of what a two-jar plan costs.

7 salsa heat levels to choose from

On the other hand, a plus with Hank's Salsa Co. is that you get to choose the flavors in your box - in the first month and every subsequent shipment. But, unlike some salsa clubs that give you a wide variety over the course of your plan, you membership at Hank's will consist of any combination of their seven salsa flavors you prefer:

  • Defused: no hot peppers, just fresh vegetables and spices
  • Mild (But Not Really): lots of flavor, just a little heat
  • Humid: heavy on the cilantro, light on the jalapeno, a little hotter than Mild
  • Creeper: 2.7 million on the Scoville scale, it starts out slightly hot and then kicks in with a serrano and habanero burn
  • Blaze: 5 million on the Scoville scale, this salsa's kick comes from ghost pepper and Carolina reaper
  • Atomic: 8 million on the Scoville scale, this takes the ghost peppers and Carolina reapers to a new level
  • Detonator: the hottest salsa in the club, at 11.8 million on the Scoville scale and described as "a pepper slaughterhouse"

Refrigerate immediately

By the way, you won't want to get your Hank's delivery and stick the salsa jars in your pantry for later: because these salsas are a fresh product, they need to be refrigerated even before opening.

Best Salsa Clubs

Limited but positive reviews

There's not a ton of feedback for Hank's - it's a pretty small OKC company, after all - but the limited number of reviews we found were all five stars. People love the complexity of the different flavors regardless of the heat level, and no one has any complaints about the salsa or Hank's in general.

Not ideal for gift-giving

Gift-giving options aren't exactly a thing here. You could put someone else's address in for the deliveries, but they're still going to have to let Hank's know which flavors they'd like to get in each box.

Good but not great

We give Hank's Salsa Co. a solid three-star rating. The salsas seem to be a big hit with loyal customers in the Oklahoma City area, many of whom say they're so happy that they can ship their favorite flavors anywhere in the continental US. It's on the expensive side when you factor in shipping costs, though, and it's just not as well-rounded as our top picks for salsa clubs. Choose Hank's if you don't mind having a limited number of selections because you appreciate being able to hand-pick which flavors you get from month-to-month.

Casa de Jorge Review 2 Star Rating

Casa de Jorge

2 Star Rating
  • Priced at $25.99/month
  • Comes with two 12 oz jars per delivery
  • Free shipping - or not?

Casa de Jorge is a small-batch salsa company based in Pennsylvania. You may have spotted their products at a farmer's market or shop near you, especially if you live on the East Coast.

About two dozen salsa types

When you sign up for the salsa club here, you'll get two 12 oz jars in every delivery. We appreciate that Casa de Jorge tells you exactly which salsas might be included in your monthly deliveries. At least at the time of this review, here's what was on that list:

  • Raspberry Agave Mild (Year Round)
  • Peach w/ Cinnamon Mild (Year Round)
  • Pineapple Mild (Year Round)
  • Mango Mild (Year Round)
  • Pineapple Habanero Hot (Year Round)
  • Raspberry Barbacoa Chipotle Medium (Year Round)
  • Christmas City Cranberry Medium (Seasonal)
  • Blueberry Blanco Mild (Seasonal)
  • Blueberry Ghost Pepper Hot (Seasonal)
  • Oktoberfest Salsa (Seasonal)
  • Roasted Garlic & Olives Medium (Year Round)
  • Chipotle' Hot (Year Round)
  • Cilantro Lime Mild (Year Round)
  • Cilantro Lime Hot (Year Round)
  • Black Bean & Corn (Year Round)
  • Mild Salsa (Year Round)
  • Hot Salsa (Year Round)
  • Medium Chunky (Year Round)
  • Pickleback Salsa (Year Round)
  • Sriracha Ghost Pepper Salsa (Year Round)
  • Stupid Hot (Year Round)
  • Australian Beetroot Salsa (Year Round)

Cancel at any time

Casa de Jorge's satisfaction guarantee is a little more limited than our #1 pick for salsa clubs. You can cancel your membership at any time and get a refund for the prorated portion, but that's about it. If you get a salsa you just don't like or that tastes off, there's nothing promising you a reshipment. Of course, that doesn't apply if your delivery comes with a broken jar, and you'll get a new one sent out after you contact the company.

Best Salsa Clubs

Not the smoothest online experience

However, that's not the easiest thing to do. The "contact us" page only has an email address; we had to dig into the "about us" page to find their phone number. We also noticed that the website itself didn't have a secure URL, and some of the links on the site didn't work. (For example, the site promised a "deal break after 5 salsas" , but that didn't go anywhere.) On a positive note, Casa de Jorge's social media accounts are very active, and that might be another way to get in touch if you have a question or concern about your salsa club.

Very expensive once you get charged for shipping

We were also left confused as we worked our way through the process of setting up our salsa club membership here. It's advertised as having both 6- and 12-month options, but in the cart it's structured just as a month-to-month recurring cost. We actually prefer that: there's no need to get a prorated refund if you're just paying as you go. But, Casa de Jorge also said that shipping is free on their salsa club - so why were we being charged $18.85 in addition to the $25.99 for the club itself? $45 for two jars of salsa (once you factor in those delivery costs) hardly seems like a fun experiment.

Not a salsa club we recommend

The salsa club at Casa de Jorge feels more like an afterthought than a flagship product. Gift-giving options? Nope. Informative newsletter? No again. You get the idea. You're probably better off ordering a couple jars of salsa as a one-off than signing up for the club itself - after all, in the online store, each jar is only $7, so why would you pay $25.99 plus nearly $20 in shipping just to get two jars? You've got other options for a salsa club, and we definitely encourage you to look at those before signing up at Salsa de Jorge.

Continued from above...

Most of these clubs take pride in the quality of their products, using companies that prioritize fresh, high-quality ingredients to make their salsa. You can be sure that the salsa you receive is made with care. Better yet, quite a few salsa subscriptions come from small, independent businesses run by passionate salsa makers. By subscribing to their monthly deliveries, you can support their endeavors and help them to continue doing what they love.

Not all salsa clubs are the same. Some give you a surprise selection each month, and half the fun is anticipating the arrival of your box and discovering what new flavors await you. Others cater to those who like to know exactly what they're getting, and you may just have your favorite, tried-and-true salsa regularly delivered to your doorstep. It's up to you!

So, now comes the fun part: picking the right salsa club for your palate (or as an amazing gift for a lucky friend). Here are some ideas that can help you narrow it down a little:

  • <>Variety. If the recipient is a true foodie, variety really is the spice of life (and of salsa clubs). Make sure the membership you pick will deliver a wide range of flavors and heat levels, to satisfy that culinary curiosity.
  • Cost. Most salsa clubs come in around $15-$25/month. Keep an eye on extra costs: not every membership includes free shipping.
  • Quantity. How much salsa will you get each month? Expect 1-2 jars in each delivery, but double-check the club you're considering.
  • Reputation. What do salsa lovers say about the club? How's the customer service?

Here at Top Consumer Reviews, we're big fans of salsa - and we've put our expertise to work for you, evaluating and ranking today's most popular salsa clubs. We're sure you'll find one that is the perfect fit - all you have to do is add the guac and you're ready to get snacking!

Salsa Club FAQ

Everywhere, from coast to coast! Typically crafted in small batches by boutique-style producers, the salsas included in a membership plan are fun, flavorful, and much more interesting than anything you'll find at your local grocery store.
While salsa clubs are usually a monthly subscription, some providers let you customize the delivery schedule. Maybe you want it to arrive every other month or once a quarter. No problem! You can also choose how many times you'd like to get new salsas, anywhere from two months to a full year.
They cost more than grabbing a bottle off the shelf at the supermarket, but the variety and fun factor make salsa club subscriptions well worth the money. You'll spend anywhere from $14 to $29 per delivery, which usually includes two full-size bottles of salsa.
Sometimes. Many salsa clubs charge a delivery fee in addition to the monthly subscription price, while others include the shipping costs in what you pay for the membership. That can really drive up the price, so be sure you know what you're getting.
One of the reasons salsa clubs are so popular is because of the excellent customer service they tend to provide. If anything goes wrong with your delivery, or if you get a salsa you really don't like, most membership providers will do everything they can to make it up to you: a replacement, a refund, or adding an extra month to your plan.
No, but most clubs let you see in advance which ones are included in upcoming deliveries. If there's one you know you don't want, you can sometimes skip that month altogether. A few salsa subscriptions do allow you to indicate what heat level you prefer.
How about a fun newsletter that tells you where your salsas came from, suggests pairings and recipes, and gives you fun facts about all things salsa? Those are commonly included with salsa club deliveries. There's even a subscription that sends you chips to dip with each shipment!
¡Si! What a fun way to send a special someone a gift that keeps on giving throughout the year. Depending on the club you choose, you might be able to request a handwritten gift card that's included in the first delivery or an email announcement delivered to the lucky recipient on the date you specify.
