Mitesil Review 2 Star Rating

Mitesil

2 Star Rating
  • Only needed for 3-5 days
  • All-natural ingredients
  • Works for mites, seborrheic dermatitis, eczema, and tinea fungal symptoms

Mitesil is a sulfur cream that provides relief from mites on human skin, flea bites, and bed bugs. It is made by Braunfels Labs in Texas. The company does not have a Better Business Bureau rating and some customers have complained that they've purchased products from them that they never received. It's clear that they are having inventory issues, so obtaining Mitesil might be an issue.

Use for 3-5 days

Mitesil comes in a 4 oz tub. The ingredients include glycerin, shea butter, sulfur, stearic acid, mango butter, sodium bentonite, jojoba oil, Australian tea tree oil, and aloe vera gel. Customers are instructed to wash the affected areas and apply the cream twice daily. You should only need to use the cream for 3-5 days before you see significant improvement. Repeat use if the problem with your scabies continues.

No satisfaction guarantee information

Unfortunately, at the time of this review, the cost of Mitesil was not listed and there was no information about whether or not it is eligible for returns. Having a satisfaction guarantee or good return policy for a product is important in case you use it and find that it isn't effective in the treatment of your mites.

Best Scabies Products

Average product

Mitesil receives average reviews from about 300 customers. Some say that the product significantly stunted the progression of their scabies and helped get rid of their mites, while others said this only relieved symptoms and they still needed a prescription from a doctor. The smell is incredibly strong and irritating to some people, but for those with a severe case of scabies, this is the least of their concerns. Most reviews were from 2019 or earlier.

Don't waste your time

There are definitely better products you can find online for scabies than Mitesil. Since it seemed to work "okay" for customers, we don't recommend wasting your time trying this out to see if it helps. You'll need something that will work quickly and effectively on your scabies before the problem escalates. It is disappointing that Braunfels Labs is having issues keeping Mitesil in stock, so we've given this product a low rating.

Where Can You Buy the Best Scabies Products Online?

The idea of scabies gives most people the jitters. It is an itchy skin condition caused by tiny burrowing mites. If you're wondering how these little critters come to exist in the first place, here is a brief synopsis: the eight legged mites are microscopic. A female will burrow just beneath the skin and make a tunnel to deposit eggs. Once they hatch, the larvae make their way to the surface of the skin where they mature and cause an allergic reaction in the body.

Scabies are a common condition, with over 200,000 new cases reported each year (and likely many more unreported). People often recognize scabies by the itchy tracks made up of blisters or bumps on the skin between fingers, under armpits, around the waist, on the inner elbows, along the insides of wrists, on the soles of the feet, and other areas of the body. Scabies are extremely contagious and can be spread even if you don't have any symptoms, since it takes up to 6 weeks for them to appear. They can be spread by interactions as casual as a handshake or hug.

Scabies Product FAQ

Scabies is a skin infestation of the human itch mite. These mites burrow into the skin and lay eggs. Scabies is found around the world, across all socioeconomic classes and cultures.
You'll usually notice a pimple-like rash that's very itchy. The rash most commonly appears at the wrist, armpit, between the fingers, along the waist, and on the elbow, but it can affect anywhere on the body.
Yes. Scabies is transmitted by direct, usually prolonged, skin-to-skin contact. That's why there are often outbreaks in child care facilities, nursing homes, and prisons: crowded conditions with frequent skin-to-skin exposure.
There are two components to treatment: symptom relief and elimination of mites and eggs. You may need a prescription from your doctor for the latter part, but there are plenty of over-the-counter products that can help relieve your symptoms (and that may get rid of the infestation too). It is recommended that all members of a household go through treatment at the same time, even if they're not showing an active infestation.
Not usually. There's a risk of skin infection due to itching, but scabies itself isn't life-threatening. It's mostly just irritating - and contagious.
Not necessarily. If you buy an effective product (prescription or over-the-counter) and apply it correctly, your costs should be minimal. It gets expensive, though, if multiple rounds of treatment are necessary. Be sure to follow the instructions to the letter, so you can get rid of scabies the first time.
Unfortunately, it can take anywhere from 2-4 weeks for the itching to disappear completely. If you're still feeling itchy after that, you may have to do another round of treatment.
That depends. Most prescriptions aren't going to come with a refund policy; too bad for you if it doesn't work. On the other hand, there are lots of over-the-counter remedies for scabies that offer a satisfaction guarantee ranging from 30 days to a year. Those can be a great alternative if you want to go a more natural route that avoids chemical scabicides.

Continued from above...

Scabies are much more obnoxious than they are threatening. A bacterial infection could occur with vigorous scratching if it breaks the skin. Otherwise, you'll need to follow a regimen to kill off the scabies before the condition worsens and the scabies multiply or spread. There are great products sold online that you can try without having to visit a doctor and pay for an expensive prescription. Many of these treatments are made with natural ingredients to safely heal you of your scabies without side effects.

When deciding where to purchase a product to get rid of scabies, here are a few important things to consider:

  • Cost. How does the cost of one scabies product compare to another? Is the formula meant to work fast or will it take weeks or months for your scabies to disappear? If it's the latter, factor in how much you'll have to spend for the total course of treatment (e.g. buying more than one bottle/tube/etc.).
  • Application. How easy is it to apply the product to the areas affected by scabies? How many applications come with one product? Ideally you'll find something with all-natural ingredients that won't cause any discomfort.
  • Return Policy. What if you use the scabies product as directed and you don't see results? Does the company have a satisfaction guarantee that will let you get your money back if needed?
