Steaks and Game carries an assortment of gourmet meats sourced from premium cattle. What makes them unique is their selection of exotic game birds, reptiles, and wild game. These include alligator, ostrich, frog, rabbit, kangaroo, turtle, and Nilgai antelope. These are definitely not for everyone, but if you're searching for something unusual to shake up your nightly meals, Steaks and Game is one of the few places you can find that.

Extensive list of meats

The full list of meat categories include Wagyu beef, grass-fed beef, bison/buffalo, pork, venison, elk, lamb, poultry, exotic meats, grilling sausages, smoked and cured meats, and burgers, grinds, and hot dogs. This is definitely one of the most broad varieties of meats we've found through any other store. If you just search for "steak” in the search bar, there are 166 results. They vary by cut, quantity, and weight, so it helps to filter through these and narrow down what you want. You can even specify the marble score you prefer and even pick "Cut to Order” steaks to ensure you get exactly what you want.

Tons of cut, weight, and marbling choices

The cut to order steaks range from $264.36 for a 6 lb. 1-inch Wagyu tenderloin MS3 steak to a whopping $1,130.74 for a 13 lb. ¾ inch Wagyu ribeye MS7. Nothing is itty bitty at Steaks and Game. If you're shopping here, prepare for a big hunk of meat as well as needing to hand over a small fortune. Most individual products are over $100 since they come with 2 or more steaks and weigh a few pounds. You can find some lower-priced items like 1.5 lbs of Elk flank steaks for $31.18 or a Wagyu top sirloin center cut steak MS6 that includes two 8 oz pieces for $54.87. When you select a steak cut, you'll usually see a couple options of sizes you can pick from before adding it to your cart.

You can join Steaks and Game's "Grill Club” by providing your name and email address. This gives you access to exclusive specials, recipes, and a 10% off coupon with 50 reward points. For every 200 points you earn, you'll receive a $5 gift certificate. You'll earn one point for every dollar spent at Steaks and Game, but you can also earn points for writing product reviews, liking them on Facebook, following them on Pinterest, or sharing a product page (or picture of an order you placed) on Facebook.

Most expensive shipping prices

Like most companies, Steaks and Game packs your steak into an insulated styrofoam box with dry ice or reusable ice packs to ensure full product freshness during transit. Most orders placed by 2 pm ET will ship same-day unless it's a cut-to-order request. Those have a 1-3 day processing time. Steaks and Game doesn't offer free shipping, so be prepared to add a little chunk of change to your overall total. For orders under $200, you'll pay $49.95 for standard shipping. Orders between $200 and $299 incur a $44.95 shipping charge, and anything over $300 costs $39.95 to ship. We've yet to find another steak company charging this much for shipping.

Sales are final

Under most circumstances, Steaks and Game does not accept returns. Since meats are perishable, they can't re-sell them. This means that all sales are final, but you can contact the company through phone or email within 24 hours of receipt if there's any sort of issue with your steak when you receive it. They can arrange an exchange or re-shipment of the items if necessary.

No company background details

The "About Us” page of Steaks and Game's website is pretty uninformative. As far as how long this company has been in business, how it originated, how their cattle is raised, and what farms they work with, we don't have a clue. They don't have a rating from the Better Business Bureau and there isn't a lot of chit-chat about the company happening on third-party sites. The only information we can really gather is through their customer reviews and product Q&A straight from their own website. Some cuts of steak have no reviews and others only have a handful. It's not nearly as many as we'd like to see, but be sure to read reviews from previous buyers if you're interested in something on this site.

Good options, just missing some details

Steaks and Game has one of the biggest steak selections and most customizable inventory. It feels like this is the kind of place that big time hunters or homesteaders would buy from. You need to know the cut you'd choose and the weight you want in order to buy anything here. It's highly customizable to buy as much as you need, but the shipping is extremely expensive. You're already likely going to be spending hundreds of dollars on meat, so to add nearly $50 on top of this just to have your order arrive seems exorbitant. We also would like to see more transparency about the company's history and how their cattle is raised before making a purchase here. However, going off of what we've seen, Steaks and Game looks like a good choice for those who want to be picky about their steaks and maybe even expand their meat horizons.
