Lucent Skin is a stretch mark prevention cream that aims to strengthen, tighten, tone, and smooth skin. We are disappointed by the lack of detailed information about the product, which is a common concern we've discovered with many of the other products (eye cream, rosacea cream, scar cream, cellulite solution, eczema cream, and others) made by Revitol, the makers of Lucent Skin.
Type and size of product are a mystery
Lucent Skin is a cream that comes in what appears to be a decent size that would last a long time, but the photos are blurred just enough that you aren't able to see exactly how much of the product comes in a tube. It could be much smaller than it appears, making it last a much less time than you'd hope. Wouldn't it be nice to know this in advance to know if you should order more than one bottle? It seems like a key detail that they could be concealing for a not-so-great reason.
Lacking application directions
In addition to not having information about how much cream you're getting when you purchase Lucent Skin, there are no directions for application. Should it be used daily? Multiple times a day? How much do you need? We wish we knew. On Lucent Skin's FAQ page, they say that recommended dosages are included on the product.
Bulk discounts
The more Lucent Skin tubes you purchase, the cheaper each one becomes. One tube is $59.95, but if you buy 2 and get the 3rd for free, the total is $119.90, making each bottle $39.97. If you end up buying 3 tubes, you'll get 3 free for a total of $179.85 and $29.98 per bottle. Whether or not it's necessary to buy more than one bottle is unclear to us since there is no approximate timeline as to how long it takes for Lucent Skin to visibly reduce your stretch marks.
Missing a full ingredient list
Another omission made by Revitol about their Lucent Skin product is their full ingredient list. They claim all their ingredients are natural and list squaline oil, grapefruit seed extract, and authentic aloe vera. We're sure there is more to Lucent Skin than these three things, but that information is nowhere to be found.
Guarantee is not what it seems
If you decide to go ahead with Lucent Skin and are unhappy with the results, you'd think the 90-day satisfaction guarantee from Revitol would save the day. However, you can only get a refund if you send back your product new and unused. So how would you know if it worked for you or not if you aren't able to try it? There is also a $10 restocking fee per item returned, which is totally lame.
Not a great option
To be frank, we can't find many reasons to trust the effectiveness of Lucent Skin. Revitol is unrated by the Better Business Bureau and they have four customer reviews on their website that are likely filtered. Outside of their website, they don't have much customer feedback, so this isn't a very reliable option for handling stretch marks. You'll be much better off using a higher-rated product.
Stretch marks appear as reddened, indented lines or streaks that appear on the skin due to rapid weight changes. This might include pregnancy, weight gain or loss, teenage growth spurts, side effects from medications, or muscle increase from weight training. Stretch marks most frequently develop on the abdomen, hips, breast, and buttocks, but can appear on other places of the body as well.
Although stretch marks are not life-threatening or dangerous in any way, most people seek out methods to reduce their appearance. Creams, ointments, and serums on the market exist for those who want to have smooth skin and see their stretch marks fade away to become less noticeable. In addition, some people experience uncomfortable itching as a side effect of their stretch marks and want to alleviate this as much as possible with over-the-counter products.
The sooner you start applying a product to your stretch marks, the faster they will start to fade. Although they will never go away completely, with consistency and the right ointment or cream you can regain confidence in your skin as it starts to return to a smooth, healthy glow.
