Best Buy Eyeglasses is an online glasses retailer that's been in business for almost a decade. They stand out among other options in this review by offering free shipping and returns on all orders right at the top of the website.
Large variety of sunglasses
They have a competitive variety of sunglasses, including a selection of name-brand and high-end options like Oakley, Ray-Ban, and Michael Kors. Their options include sunglasses that are prescription and standard for men, women, and children. The prices at Best Buy Eyeglasses range from $24.99 to $396, which are competitive with many options in this review.
Decent filters with a wide variety
If you're looking for a standard pair of sunglasses from Best Buy Eyeglasses, there are plenty of options to choose from. The filters are easy to find; however, they stay at the top of the window, so if you scroll down you won't be able to see them anymore. You can filter your options by looking at gender, brand, department, materials, shape, color, price, lens, and size, and the site offers multiple color options for most frames.
Custom shades? Not at Best Buy Eyeglasses
If you want to know the options for standard lenses, there aren't a lot of customizations. Apart from the color options for frames, there's only an option for polarized lenses, but you have to find it under the "add prescription" tab, which is confusing for customers who don't want Rx lenses. However, you can choose "no prescription" and then scroll down to find two colors of polarized lenses for an additional $79.
Confusing options during purchase
If you want to add Rx lenses to your sunnies, there are a few different add-ons to choose from. For prescriptions, you can choose between single vision and progressive lenses. And in terms of lens types, Best Buy Eyeglasses offers three options:
However, all of these options go away if you select sunglasses part of the way through the purchase, so we're not sure if these apply to eyeglasses ONLY or if you can use some of these options for sunglasses.
The final price is steep at Best Buy Eyeglasses
When you compare the final price of a pair of frames that start at $144 for a standard pair ($223 after the added polarization), or for a prescription pair ($243 once you add the single vision package), the prices come out as more expensive than many competitors in this review.
No photos on merchandise
One thing that didn't excite us about Best Buy Eyeglasses was the website polish. As we looked through the pages of options, we noticed a lot of the sunglasses were listed as "new" and didn't have photos available for the listings. Even when you click on a specific listing, there's still no photo, which means you're expected to buy a pair of sunglasses without seeing them first. Hopefully, Best Buy Eyeglasses will get a move on and update these photos, but until then a large number of their available sunglasses are complete mysteries.
Doesn't have an online presence
In terms of customer satisfaction, Best Buy Eyeglasses has a shaky online reputation. While it has an "A+" rating from the BBB, the business isn't accredited and it also has an average star rating of 2.8 across just under 200 total online reviews. So, without more customer feedback it's hard to say how Best Buy Eyeglasses stacks up - and what's there doesn't exactly inspire confidence.
Free shipping and returns
There is the benefit of free shipping and returns with Best Buy Eyeglasses, though the return policy doesn't actually say anything about refunds, which makes us a little concerned. On the other hand, they do promise free returns within 30 days of purchase, so you might just need to check in on getting your money back from customer service.
Not worth the worry
Best Buy Eyeglasses offers a competitive range of sunglasses and prescription options at prices that are somewhat comparable to other options in this review. However, the lack of customization options and confusing website design may turn off some customers. Additionally, the high final price and lack of customer feedback make it hard to fully recommend Best Buy Eyeglasses over other trusted options.
Everybody loves summer - school is out, the sun is warm, and you're guaranteed to spend more time outside. But if you're going out for some sunshine, you want to protect your eyes. Whether you live somewhere sunny, or you're planning your next tropical vacation, a new pair of shades is a must-have.
There are plenty of options out there these days: traditional sunnies, a pair of those coveted Ray-Bans, or if you're in with the gen-Zers you might be inspired to get a new set of sunnies when you see their slick PitVipers. Maybe you're in the market for a pair that compliments your eyeglasses, like clip-ons or a fully prescription pair of sunglasses. Whether you need a pair for sports, vacay, or just driving in the summer sun, don't worry, we've got you covered.
Sunglasses are an essential accessory. According to a recent survey, 64% of Americans wear sunglasses to protect their eyes from the sun, while 27% wear them for just fashion fun. The amount of protection that sunglasses provide depends on the quality of the lenses and their ability to block out UV rays.
The American Academy of Ophthalmology recommends wearing sunglasses that block out 99% to 100% of both UVA and UVB radiation to ensure adequate protection for your eyes. Sunglasses that meet this standard can significantly reduce the risk of developing eye problems such as cataracts, macular degeneration, and skin cancer around the eyelids. Additionally, sunglasses with polarized lenses can also reduce glare and improve visibility in bright conditions.
There are many popular sunglasses brands on the market, each with its unique style, design, and reputation. Ray-Ban is one of the most iconic and timeless brands, known for its classic Aviator and Wayfarer models. Oakley is a brand popular among athletes and outdoor enthusiasts for its durable and high-performance sunglasses.
Costa Del Mar is another popular brand among fishermen and boaters for its polarized lenses and durable frames. Additionally, there are luxury brands such as Gucci and Prada that offer high-end and stylish sunglasses for fashion-conscious individuals. Ultimately, the popularity of a brand can vary depending on personal preferences and needs, but these particular brands have established themselves as leaders in the industry.
With so many options for a new pair of sun glasses, it can be hard to know where to start shopping. How do you pick a site that offers the best brands, and the best prices, and get something that makes you look and feel amazing?
