In The Swim was founded by a husband and wife duo in 1982. They were first shipping chlorine out of the back of their garage and taking orders on their front porch when the company began. Over the years their customer base grew along with their product selection and they now have graduated to an online store with hundreds of products for spas, hot tubs, and pools.
Vast selection of products
On top of providing standard pool supplies like leaf catchers, filters, pumps, vacuums, and more, you can place custom orders through In The Swim for pool covers and some other accessories to fit exactly what you need. You can also buy things like diving boards, outdoor furniture, umbrellas, and even the pool itself. They have a selection of pool kits with guides so you can install a pool yourself and maybe save money.
No price match guarantee
The price of pool supplies at In The Swim seems comparable to what we've seen through other retailers. At the time of this review, they were running a sale for 10% off chlorine tablets and pool shock. They also have a clearance section that might be worth browsing to see if you could score any deals. However, they don't have a price match guarantee like some higher-rated pool suppliers do, so you pay the price you see here. If you spend over $100, your order will ship for free.
30 days for returns
In The Swim says you can return your items within 30 days for a replacement or a refund (minus shipping). Once they receive and verify the return, it will take 5-7 business days to process and be reflected on your account. There is a list of exclusions to this, so we recommend reading over it so you don't go through the hassle of trying to return something that isn't eligible for a refund.
Not trustworthy
The overwhelming majority of reviews from customers who have tried buying from In The Swim are bad. Customers have received products different than they ordered and some never received them at all. Complaints of shoddy quality or inaccurate tracking details on shipments are just a few of the issues people have dealt with. It's not uncommon to read the warning, "Do not buy from this company” from people who have written about their bad experiences. Needless to say, we don't trust In The Swim and neither should you.
Steer clear
This time an "A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau isn't good enough (and we're not even sure we understand how this swimming pool supply store earned that grade). In The Swim has a lot of work to do to clean up their messy processes and fix their customer service issues. We can't imagine that a company can operate this poorly for long. Even if they have something you want or need for your pool, it's not guaranteed that you'll get what you pay for, so it's best to steer clear of In The Swim.
If you own a swimming pool, you know that it's not just a place for a relaxing swim - it's also a lot of work. You have to remove debris, continually balance the chemicals, brush the walls to prevent algae and bacteria, filter the water, and more. Floating around while you soak up the sun doesn't come for free.
In addition to the supplies you need for regular pool maintenance, you may want to add pool toys and loungers for your guests of all ages to enjoy. Or even upgrade your patio furniture to provide the best, most relaxing experience. Some people choose to add waterfalls to their pool or slides to make it as fun as possible. It may come as no surprise that many people have turned to the internet to buy their swimming pool supplies.
There are many reasons why online swimming pool purchases have become so popular. First, the convenience of online shopping can't be denied. With just a few clicks, you can browse through extensive catalogs of swimming pool supplies from the comfort of your own home - or on the go. This eliminates the need to visit physical stores, saving you both time and effort. Moreover, online stores are open 24/7, which lets you shop whenever it's most convenient for you.
Shopping online also lets you make more informed purchasing decisions. With detailed product descriptions, customer reviews, and comparison tools, you can assess the quality, functionality, and suitability of swimming pool supplies before making a purchase. This goes a long way toward removing the uncertainty often associated with buying products sight unseen.
Undoubtedly, the vast assortment of swimming pool products available online is another reason driving its popularity. Unlike traditional stores limited by physical space, online retailers can offer an extensive range of swimming pool supplies, catering to diverse needs and preferences. Whether you seek basic maintenance equipment, advanced cleaning solutions, or luxurious pool accessories, you can typically find whatever you need online, and often at prices better than at local stores.
Trying to shop in-store for your pool supplies not only takes more time, but it also limits your options. There's nothing more frustrating than getting to the store only to find out that they've got the chlorine you forgot you needed, but they're out of the filter cartridges you actually came for. It's so much more efficient to quickly jump online and find a retailer that has everything you need in one place. This way you can compare prices between stores and you won't even have to leave your couch (or pool deck).
It's important to find a reliable, affordable pool supplier so that owning a pool is more fun than work at the end of the day. When deciding which company to shop from, take the following things into consideration:
