Thyromine is designed to help you have healthy thyroid function and a better metabolism. According to their product page, this supplement contains herbs and minerals to support optimal thyroid function.
What are the ingredients?
Which ingredients are those? You won't find that information on the Thyromine website. The most you'll discover is that it shouldn't be used by anyone under the age of 18, or by those who are suffering from several conditions (such as high blood pressure, kidney or liver disease, or any psychiatric diagnosis). You can't even see a product label.
What's the dosage?
How much Thyromine do you need to take for optimal health? Great question. But you won't find an answer for that on their product website either: look in the FAQ and you'll see that you'll have to wait until you receive your shipment to read the recommended dosage. That sounds pretty scary to us!
Return policy issues
Plus, returns are only accepted on unopened products within 90 days. So, if you try Thyromine and have a bad reaction or simply don't get the results you expected, you'll only get money back on the bottles you didn't use. Add that to nonrefundable shipping costs and a $6 per item return processing/restocking fee, and you'll soon see it's not worth it to attempt a refund. They're probably counting on that, given that their link to request a Return Merchandise Authorization (RMA) takes you to a third-party site with even more hoops to jump through - and where they say your return processing fee is $10, not $6.
Where are they?
Thyromine is one of many health products offered by parent company Buy Health (alternately - and not creatively - also known as Health Buy). Given what you've already read about Thyromine, you probably won't be surprised to learn that Buy Health has an "F" rating from the Better Business Bureau. The company's listing there has a US address, which doesn't even come close to matching up with the Delaware area code phone number or the international address in Cyprus listed on the Thyromine website.
Disappointing overall
So, let's summarize: send at least $35 off to a company that promises to support your thyroid health, without telling you what's in the product or how much you'll need to take, and forget about trying to get a refund if it arrives and you are allergic to one of the mystery ingredients. Make a phone call which could be directed to California, Maryland, Cyprus, or some other unknown destination - if anyone even answers the phone. Sounds like a losing proposition all the way around. For all of these reasons, Thyromine is our lowest-ranked thyroid health supplement, and we strongly encourage you to consider the more reputable products in our review.
If you're asking yourself that question, you probably already know just how important the thyroid is to your overall well-being. Just as a refresher, the thyroid gland plays an essential role in our metabolism. Working in conjunction with the pituitary gland, the thyroid gland sends hormones into our bloodstream, affecting energy levels, mood, and much more.
What happens when the thyroid gland is under- or overactive? Some common symptoms are mood swings, constipation, slow metabolism and/or weight gain, fatigue, temperature sensitivity, and more. With today's busy lifestyles, who can afford to be operating at anything less than full power?
In an ideal world, you could eliminate all of the potential causes of poor thyroid function and return quickly to wellness. These causes can include stress, genetic predisposition to thyroid problems, less-than-healthy eating habits (including yo-yo dieting), even environmental pollution. But, realistically, many of those factors are beyond your control.
The good news is that there are many supplements available over-the-counter that offer thyroid support. These products tend to address thyroid health by providing an abundance of nutrients that have been shown to reduce symptoms and improve overall thyroid function. But, as with most products, your results may vary - and it can take some trial-and-error to find the product that works best for your body.
So, when considering all of the thyroid supplements on the market, how can you decide which one to try? Here are several criteria that may help you find the right thyroid support:
