Test case: 170 options for the Corolla
To test out each of the tire stores on our list, we searched for options for both a 2021 Toyota Corolla LE and a 2024 Tesla Cybertruck. After answering a few basic questions about our car, we were taken to nearly 170 results for the Corolla alone. The first few tires were the ones that Tire Agent thought would be the best value: one had a $100 rebate, another had a longer-than-average warranty, and the third offered superior traction in rain/snow. After that, we were able to finally see our options ranked in the way we asked (priced low-high and high-low). Prices here ranged from $74.73/tire on the Crossmax CT-1 to $270.89/tire on the Michelin Pilot Sport 4.
Test case: best selection for the Cybertruck
Tire Agent did phenomenally with tire options for the Tesla Cybertruck. While some competitors had nothing to offer or just one or two styles, Tire Agent came in clutch with 22 matching tires. Those ranged from $274.27/tire for the Crosswind M/T All Season to $523.99/tire for the BFGoodrich HD-Terrain T/A KT.
Easy-breezy installation choices (including DIY)
So, now that we know that selection isn't an issue here, what are the other benefits of buying your tires from Tire Agent? The biggest is probably installation: not only do your tires ship for free, but you can choose whether you want to put them on yourself or choose a local installer. Enter your zip code and you can see what options are in your area; in our test location, we could get both mobile installation (through Roll by Goodyear) and in-shop installation, mostly at Tire Choice Auto Service Centers. Just make sure you have your tires shipped to the installer of your choice and not to your home, in that case.
Missing a few details and perks
There are only a few slight downsides we noticed with Tire Agent. First, there's no customer rating system on the tires: something we like to use when trying to make a decision between two tires and/or brands. There's also not quite as much information on each tire; while some rivals show you easy-to-understand graphics for stopping distance, durability, and other key features, Tire Agent just gives you a descriptive overview and a list of technical specs. Finally, any after-purchase benefits depend on the tire brand you choose: some come with roadside assistance and road hazard protection (like the Continental tires we considered for the Corolla) and others simply don't. These aren't huge failings on Tire Agent's part, but it makes this tire store a little less robust than some of its rivals.
Near-perfect reputation
The Better Business Bureau gives Tire Agent an "A+” rating and accreditation for appropriately handling the 140+ complaints received in the last 3 years. Beyond the BBB rating, we were flabbergasted to see that this tire store had received over 15,000 5-star reviews on Google alone, averaging 4.8 stars out of 5. We found the same average (and the same glowing feedback) on Trustpilot too. Across the board, customers say that Tire Agent delivers on time (or early), the selection and pricing is excellent, and that installation comes off without a hitch.
Lots of financing options if you need them
There were also numerous mentions of the financing options you can access through Tire Agent. In this economy, a lot of people don't have the money to pay for 4 tires upfront; from the looks of it, Tire Agent is making it possible for customers to afford what they need, when they need it. That includes "No Money Down” options through a variety of payment plan lenders, like Koalafi, American First Finance, and others. You can also pay with Affirm, Afterpay, PayPal, Cash App Pay, and many more.
