If you want top-notch machines for your home workouts, Precor is well-known as a favorite in professional gyms. People all around the world use Precor in public gyms and studios, proving that it's a reliable choice for creating a pro-level home gym.
Availability issues
There's one big problem: customers have mentioned Precor's machines, including treadmills, are often not available. For example, out of the 5 different models they offer, only three of the treadmills were in stock and available to buy during our most recent visit to the Precor online store.
Equipment Overview:
Basic model: TRM 600
For our review, we chose the TRM 600 line for the basic model. While there is a cheaper (and more low-tech) model on the Precor site, the TRM 200 line was not available for purchase and all sub-models were out of stock. So, we chose the next best option that was available to review for you. The TRM 600 has three sub-models with the P31 Console as the lowest priced in the lineup. The TRM 600 P31 costs $6,740, which isn't cheap by any means. The Precor TRM 600 stands out as an exceptional treadmill model, offering a maximum speed capability of 12 mph and a 60-inch running surface. With a versatile incline range of 0% to 15%, adjustable in 0.5% increments, you can get in plenty of uphill training. The P31 is equipped with 27 pre-programmed workouts, and the speed range spans from 0.5 to 12 mph.
Top-tier model: TRM 800
The top model at Precor is part of the TRM 800 lineup. There are three sub-models of treadmill here too, which include prices from $10,480 to $14,010. The top model (the one that costs $14,010) is the P82 Console which is the model we'll focus on for our review. The Precor TRM 800 P82 treadmill is designed for elite runners and marathoners. It offers a few upgrades from the base model:
However, the treadmill includes the same 27 pre-programmed workouts as the base model which was somewhat disappointing for a treadmill of this price point.
No returns allowed
However, if you're looking for purchase security, Precor may not be the brand for you. Simply put, once a Precor machine is delivered, you can't send it back. According to Precor's rules, you can cancel and get a full refund before or after it ships, but only if it hasn't reached your home yet. But once it's delivered, there's no turning back. On the positive side, some of the treadmills come with a lifetime warranty for the frame. So, if something goes wrong, Precor will fix it or give you a new one at no extra cost. Still, we're not big fans of Precor's strict "no returns" policy.
Solid scores overall
Precor is well-respected in the fitness world, with an impressive "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau and a strong 3.9-star average on sites like Trustpilot. With the high cost of their top-tier treadmills, you'd expect top-tier service, and Precor seems to be delivering on that for the most part. Lots of 5-star reviews praise their excellent customer service, especially in solving problems quickly. The delivery service (described as "white glove” by reviewers) is also highly praised, as it includes setup and removal of old fitness gear - something customers really appreciate.
Solid brand if you have a big budget
Despite the higher-than-average price point, Precor stands out as a favorite with reviewers. As one of the few brands to earn an "A+” rating from the BBB, Precor definitely ranks as one of the top options in the industry. On the other hand, the pricing can be a little limiting for customers who aren't pro athletes (or who are athletes on a budget). While they do have a "cheaper” machine for $2,499, this treadmill wasn't in stock at the time of our review. This means that you could be looking at paying a minimum of $6,740 for your Precor treadmill. However, the brand has a great reputation and could be perfect for high-budget buyers. For this reason, it gets a solid rating. But if you're looking for a lower-cost treadmill in general, Precor might be out of your comfort zone.
With a rising interest in health and fitness, treadmills have become very popular in recent years. A treadmill is a traditional but reliable piece of equipment, offering a way to bring the jogging track (or your favorite uphill hikes) into your personal home gym. Putting in even a half-hour on a treadmill can promote heart health and aid in weight management.
Treadmills allow you to control the intensity of your workout, adjusting speed and incline according to your fitness level. The convenience of having a treadmill at home eliminates weather constraints or time limitations, making it easier to maintain a consistent exercise routine right in the comfort of your home. And buying a treadmill online has become easier than ever before.
Instead of driving to different exercise equipment stores, and listening to various sales pitches, you can shop right from the comfort of you own home. You can explore a wide variety of brands, models, and pricepoints. And many companies even offer free shipping, right to your door.
Treadmills are a popular choice for many due to their advantages. Treadmills offer a predictable and cushioned surface, reducing the impact on joints. So, for joggers looking for an option that's lower-impact than running outside or on a track, treadmills can create a perfect solution. The machines offer a range of fitness levels, from walking for beginners to high-intensity sprints for advanced workouts. Whether you're getting started on your home gym journey or you're a seasoned athlete, a treadmill is a great addition to your workout routine.
As you explore various treadmill brands, you'll discover a wide array of options on the market. Modern treadmills come equipped with features like built-in screens for virtual classes, fitness app connectivity, and even virtual jogging tracks like mountainscapes that make it feel more realistic for runners who prefer the challenges of outdoor exercise. Even if you've been to the gym in the last few years, you may be impressed with some of the major technological improvements in today's treadmills.
Today, treadmills are more than just a simple cardio tool. They can serve as your personal fitness cheerleader, providing stats to track your progress and celebrate fitness milestones. Whether you pick one with a touchscreen or just the usual LCD stat trackers, you can rest assured that you'll get a full rundown of your fitness and performance whenever you need it.
Choosing the right treadmill can be daunting with the number of treadmill brands available. Some of the models and brands look so similar you might be asking: "What's the difference?” Don't worry.
