Have you ever visited a website that makes your head hurt just to look at it? You know, small print, tiny or pixelated images, and a design that looks like it's about 15 years out of style? Blue Ribbon Awards and Trophies is that kind of site.
Hard to use
If you don't know what you're looking for, you're going to have to scroll through tiny links on the left side of the page: Cell Phone Accessories, Leather Gift Items, and Promotional Items are just a few of the categories that really didn't seem to have anything to do with trophies and awards.
When you finally do get to the set of links for Trophies, you'll have to know if you want Corporate, Resin, Traditional, or Cups. What if you want a Corporate Cup style? Which one do you pick? We're not sure it matters, because you'll be scrolling and clicking for a while anyway.
Be prepared to search
Even when you click on one of those - let's say you are looking for a Traditional Baseball Trophy - you probably aren't going to find it in a hurry. You almost have to design what you want from start to finish. A single column trophy? Oh, NOW you might find one that applies to baseball... after you scroll through the ones for archery, softball, bowling and more.
No customer testimonials
They may (or may not) have a great reputation in their local market of Dallas/Plano, but it's not too encouraging when you click on the Testimonials link and get a black screen. Evidently their mission to "Recognize the Extraordinary" doesn't extend to their online store's design?
There's also nothing beyond the ordinary with this store's policies and practices. You'll have to spend twice as much money to get free shipping - $200 - compared with most of Blue Ribbon's rivals. Because every order is created on a custom basis, there are no refunds. Period. Even if there's an engraving error on the company's part, you'll get a corrected replacement or a similar new item. Most of the trophy stores in our review will at least accept returns on items like trophies, with a restocking fee, because the engraved part can be replaced with a new plate for another customer.
With so many trophy stores that provide an intuitive online shopping experience, along with friendly customer policies and ample evidence of doing a fantastic job with delivering high-quality awards on time, it's hard to see why anyone would shop at Blue Ribbon Awards. We're certain that you'll have a more satisfying shopping experience if you buy your trophies and awards from one of our higher-rated retailers.
That's a great question if you're in charge of recognizing athletes for their participation and accomplishments, giving employees a well-deserved award for being their team's MVP during a tough quarter at work, or giving any other type of praise and applause in a more formal, tangible way.
Trophies and awards really run the gamut when considering options for designs, shapes, materials, and budgets. On one end of the spectrum, you'll find the inexpensive plastic-and-metal trophies common at Little League baseball end-of-season awards nights, usually with a generic inscription congratulating the little slugger for being a part of the team.
On the other end of the spectrum, the sky's the limit: crystal, art deco glass, and other high-quality materials make up the products you'll find here. Think of what you'd expect when honoring someone for a lifetime's worth of achievements in a highly-competitive field, and you'll get an idea of the types of awards on the upper end of the price range.
Can't find a specialty trophy store near you? No problem! Most teams, organizations and companies turn to trusted online providers of trophies anyway: why not, when the options are plentiful, prices are competitive, and you can get your order just as quickly as if you purchased it from a local brick-and-mortar shop? Even your customizations can be taken care of quickly, ensuring that you have the perfect award for the ceremony, right on time.
So, how can you decide which trophy store should get your business, both now and hopefully for years to come? Here are several factors that may influence your purchasing decision when ordering trophies:
