USA2Me is a family-owned mail forwarding company that's been operating in Houston since 2004. They'll give you a real street address (not a PO box) and they handle all mail processing in-house. With over 20,000 customers served, 2 million packages processed, and an "A" rating from the BBB since 2006, they focus on quality service rather than being the cheapest option. They can ship your mail and packages to almost any country in the world.

Free plan available

USA2Me offers four virtual mailbox plans, ranging from basically free to $60 per month.

• Basic (Free) is a pay-for-what-you-use plan, great for those who only need mail forwarding on rare occasions. You'll get a US address, package consolidation, and 30 days of free storage. This plan carries a one-time $23 setup fee.
• Standard ($10/month) includes everything that Basic does, plus free junk mail discarding and an extra 15 days of free storage. The setup fee for Standard, Premium, and Ultimate is $15.
• Premium ($35/month) includes everything in Standard plus one free shipment per month costing up to $30 in shipping fees. (Note that it has to be applied to the first shipment of each billing period, and it won't roll over to the next month.) You'll get 60 days of free storage.
• Ultimate ($60/month) offers everything you get with Premium, plus 1 free shipment up to $60 and 90 days of free storage.

Add-on services cost the same amounts for all plans

When using USA2Me's services, you'll find several optional add-on fees across all plan tiers (Basic, Standard, Premium, and Ultimate). For any letter scanning, you'll pay $3 for up to 6 pages, with additional pages costing $0.50 each - a little on the pricey side compared to their competitors. After your free storage period ends, you'll be charged $1 per pound of mail per month, which we think is a perk - many virtual mailbox services charge on a per-day basis instead. Repacking is a service USA2Me charges for that several of their competitors do not: you can choose between paying 50% of the savings or a flat fee of $5.00 per box. If you need to add more names to your account, that'll cost you $5 per month per name, which is competitive.

In-person pickup is possible, but costs at least $15

Sold on USA2Me? Here's how it works: after you get your USA2Me address, you can start sending your mail and packages there. When your items arrive, USA2Me will take photos and notify you by email. You can then log into your online account to decide what to do with each item - whether you want it shipped, scanned, or thrown away. You can choose to have your items shipped right away or wait to combine multiple packages to save on shipping costs. If you want to pick up your items in person from their Houston location, you'll need to pay $15 for the first pound plus $1 for each extra pound, and visit during business hours (9 AM to 4 PM, Monday through Friday). For someone else to pick up your items, they'll need your signed permission and ID copies.

Offers personal shopper service (and more) for expats

Beyond just handling your mail, USA2Me can make your life easier if you're living abroad. You can hire them as your personal shopper to buy items from US stores, have them repackage and forward mail to different addresses, fulfill orders for your business, or even set up a virtual office - making it a really handy one-stop shop for expats who need US-based services. It seems the only thing they don't do is check depositing.

30 days to test it out

You can give USA2Me a test drive with their risk-free trial. If you're not happy with the service during your first month, just send them an email asking to cancel, and they'll refund your setup fees. Keep in mind that you'll still need to pay for any services you actually use during the trial, like shipping or scanning your mail.

Thorough, knowledgeable, and responsive customer support

While there aren't as many online reviews for USA2Me as some of their competitors, the existing positive reviews are lengthy, thoughtful, and detailed. Satisfied customers praise their excellent customer service, particularly the free document rescanning and instant response times. One couple in Taiwan describes USA2Me as a "true blessing" for helping them send packages to their children and grandchildren, and for ordering US products unavailable in Taiwan. The company responds to complaints professionally - though somewhat bluntly - explaining in detail to customers why their demands can't be met when their issues stem from US law compliance or services outside their scope (such as customs clearance). We think USA2Me's responses to complaints demonstrate their thoroughness, industry expertise, and attention to detail.

Be aware of drawbacks before committing

We think USA2Me offers great service, but there are a few limitations you should consider. They don't clearly state if there's a limit on your monthly mail scans, and you'll need to handle everything through their website since they don't have a mobile app. If you need assistance, you can only reach them by phone or email - there's no live chat option. Also, they only have one location in Houston, Texas. While this means they're a stable, reliable operation, it won't work for you if you're specifically looking for an address in another city or state.

Solid choice overall with a few downsides

If you're looking for a trustworthy virtual mailbox service with a proven track record - and you don't mind paying slightly higher prices - USA2Me is one to watch. Yes, they're the only service in our review that offers a (sort of) free plan, but fees for additional services (like content scanning, repacking, and pickup) are higher than some of their top competitors. That said, you're paying for peace of mind with a family-owned business that's been around for nearly two decades. Overall, if reliability and quality service matter more to you than having the absolute lowest prices, USA2Me is definitely worth considering.
