Wartrol is produced by parent company Natural Products Association, which has been in business for over 75 years. Wartrol has been in the market since 2002 and as indicated on the website, has been featured on news articles on Fox, ABC, CBS and CNN, MSN and USA Today. Additionally the product is FDA approved, something we haven't seen in any of the other wart fighting products we have reviewed.
The Wartrol website is striking to look at, but a little too busy and confusing for our tastes, and not terribly informative. The main page is full of large, full color graphics displaying various snippets of information in pictorial form. There is a section outlining how to apply the Wartrol product, a section describing what warts are and how they affect a person, sections confirming their formula is FDA approved and that the results have been shown in clinical trials. However there is no way to navigate deeper into any of these topics, and very few links of any kind at all.
Overall we found the website difficult and not very user friendly. It is effective in broadcasting the FDA approval and network news articles which lends a sense of legitimacy to the product, but there is very little in the way of information provided to potential customers.
The product itself seems decent enough. It is a topical solution and is applied much like any other topical wart fighting product. The area around the wart is washed and dried, and the Wartrol formula is applied directly to the wart. The main ingredient is the chemical Salicylic Acid, so anyone looking for an all-natural solution should try one of the other wart fighting products we have reviewed. Incidentally, this is also the reason for the FDA approval...Salicylic Acid has been clinically tested while many of the homeopathic ingredients in other products have not.
Our main problem here is again with the lack of information provided on the website. One of the sections on the main page claims the product is "fast acting" but no where does it explain how long it should be used or what results the user should expect to see. It just says to keep using it until the wart has gone away. There is also no testimonial page to review. There are a few brief testimonials listed on the main webpage, but none of them address how long the product took to work or provide any more details on the customer experience. We also had trouble finding independent reviews of the product, so was very little for us to go on when it came to customer satisfaction levels.
Wartrol is clinically tested and FDA approved, and there is a lot to be said for that. But the confusing website lacking information and the curious lack of positive reviews gave us pause. Add that to the fact that we didn't see any offers for free or discounted shipping, nor any return policy or satisfaction guarantee of any kind, and we're unable to recommend Wartrol very highly.
Warts are a very common skin condition, but can cause a great deal of embarrassment. Most warts are found on the hands and feet and are the result of a benign virus. However, warts can appear in other places of the body too, and while some may go away on their own, most will stay until removed.
For those familiar with wart removal, they know it can be an expensive and uncomfortable process that typically occurs at the doctor's office. Freezing and burning off warts are two of the most common methods of wart removal. However, today a number of products exist that use safe and natural ingredients to remove warts.
While there are a variety of products you can use at home without a prescription to remove warts, not all products are the same. Before you choose a wart removal product, you should consider the following:
