The wedding invitations section of the Shutterfly site is clearly laid out and visually attractive, avoiding the cluttered look. We love how the preview image for all of their 400+ designs allows you click on any of the available color choices, to see right away how the invitation's appearance would change with a different selection. Most of the invitations have at least three recommended color options, along with the ability to customize the color palette.

The interface used by Shutterfly to design your wedding invitation is very straightforward. You'll be prompted to fix anything it sees as a possible mistake, such as leaving a photo or text box empty, or not previewing it before you add it to the cart. Be aware that you will need to create a Shutterfly account, migrate your preexisting TinyPrints or Wedding Paper Divas account, or sign in with your existing Shutterfly account info in order to save your project and get to the final order screen.

Pricing through this service is very competitive with other companies in our review. Like most sites, the "starting at" or "as low as" price given represents a large order; for example, on one style we selected, the "as low as" amount of $0.90 per invitation required an order of at least 255 invitations, and higher per-card costs for smaller orders. Custom envelopes are available for most designs for an additional fee, typically $0.25 per envelope, and free recipient addressing is included. Return address printing will incur an extra charge, usually around $0.39 per envelope.
