Say I Do Review 3.5 Star Rating

Say I Do

3.5 Star Rating
  • Both free and paid memberships
  • Minimalist templates
  • Optional domain name purchasing
  • Mobile and desktop views
  • Full refunds within 14 days
  • Very high user ratings

Say I Do is a simple place to make a wedding website. They have a free version that will work for some, but options to upgrade start at $50 and go up to $99. Templates aren't very customizable, but for those who want an easy experience and don't feel design-savvy, it will make life less stressful. Templates are minimalistic and we've definitely seen prettier ones elsewhere, but it hasn't deterred people from making their wedding website here and leaving high reviews about their experience. Say I Do is a good choice, though not one of our very favorites.

Wix Review 2.5 Star Rating

Wix

2.5 Star Rating
  • Free to use
  • 28 templates
  • Fully custom web designs
  • Extensive tools
  • Differentiate mobile and desktop views
  • "A+” Better Business Bureau rating

Wix is a great place for start-up businesses to create and host custom websites. They have AI tools to help create designs or hundreds of templates that can be endlessly personalized. As far as wedding websites go, it's great that you could make a free site here, but the tools are more complicated than you'd need. It could feel unnecessarily stressful to try and navigate all the features on Wix to create a straightforward wedding website when there are other companies who do this for you. Wix is great for businesses, but not great for wedding planners, so they aren't one of our favorite options.

Where Are the Best Places to Create a Wedding Website?

Once you get engaged and it's officially "go time” as far as planning goes, you may find yourself with a to-do list a mile long. The very first details you'll need to nail down are the "when” and the "where” so that you can invite your guests and make sure they have plenty of heads up to adjust their schedules to be there. This is one of the most important days of your life and part of what will make it so magical is ensuring that the people you love the most are in attendance.

If you choose to mail invitations, you'll find that there are a lot of companies to help you create the perfect design. But what do you do if some of your wedding details end up changing after invitations have been sent? Or if some invitations get lost in the mail? And heaven forbid one of your guests accidentally throws your invitation away and can't remember all the information that was included on it. Luckily, there's a solution to all of this: wedding websites.

Wedding Website FAQ

A wedding website lets you share as much (or as little) about your upcoming nuptials as you like, with friends and family near and far. Although paper announcements and invitations are still popular, many couples use wedding websites to streamline everything from RSVPs to gift registries and more.
You don't "need” a wedding website, but why wouldn't you want one? Instead of answering the same texts and emails fifty times - "When are you getting married, again?”, "What's the address of the reception hall?”, and so on - you can keep everyone informed and on the same page (pun intended). Millions of couples use wedding websites to help with their planning, update attendees on important dates and times, and upload photos from the big day itself!
How does "free” sound? (There won't be much else about your wedding that is!) Most wedding website providers charge nothing for the service, though some have fees for storing your site in the future or for premium options like customized URLs or matching print invitations.
That depends on the service you select. Some wedding website providers give you unlimited access to your site, while others have yearly or monthly fees to keep it online.
Everything from A to Z! Some of the most-used features offered by wedding websites are RSVP management, gift registry links, photo galleries, and separate pages for various wedding events (like bachelor/bachelorette parties, rehearsal dinners, the wedding itself, and the reception). Wedding websites can take a lot of the work off your shoulders by giving you a centralized "location” to keep track of all the details.
Yes. Most offer a way to have your wedding website password protected, as well as letting you decide if you want your URL to be discoverable in online searches.
Absolutely. Many wedding website services make it easy to see which site designs have corresponding print invitations. You can order your invites right there, through the wedding website provider itself.
Most wedding website services have that as an option: "ElisaAndMeganSayYesToTheDress.com” is so much more fun than something generic, right? It's usually a paid upgrade, even on free wedding website builders. A few services require you to buy your personalized URL separately: it's not offered directly through their site.

Continued from above...

Even if none of the above scenarios take place, wedding websites are becoming increasingly popular because they're fun to make and it's a good place for all your guests to refer to with current information about your wedding day. You usually have a huge selection of templates to choose from to create a site that reflects you and your partner's personality and style. Sometimes you can make physical wedding invitations on a site that match the same design as your wedding website, to make everything cohesive.

A wedding website can include photos of the happy couple, all the details about the time and location (with directions) of the wedding events, manage RSVPs, outline the schedule, provide your registry link, show a countdown to the big day, and list a contact person for further questions. They're quite customizable, so it's a fantastic place for you and your guests to keep track of accurate, up-to-date details and stay on the same page.

There are quite a few places you could create a wedding website. And the best part? A lot of them are completely free to use. To help you decide which services provide the best value, we've explored the top ones and have spelled out the details of each. Here are some key things to keep in mind when you're choosing a wedding website service:

  • Cost. It's a relief to know that many companies provide wedding websites for free, so it's something you may not even have to try and fit into your overall budget. However, if there are certain tools or unique features you are hoping for in a wedding website, consider how much an upgraded account or premium features may be.
  • Usability. People of all ages will be coming to your wedding website looking for information. Is it easy to navigate and quickly find the details that everyone needs? Ideally, you don't want to have to filter through multiple pages, deal with the site crashing, or have to sort through too much information to find what is needed. Find a website that allows you to create beautiful but simple pages.
  • Personalization. Does the website reflect your style and the vibe of your wedding? Look for a company that has a good amount of templates that you can customize in terms of wallpapers, fonts, placement of text and photos, information included, and more. We have seen some places that even allow back-end coding to get fully customizable if you want to take it that far.
