When creating your wedding website, you could start from scratch or hire a web design agency - but why not save yourself the hassle and expense by using a service that specializes in beautiful, easy-to-navigate sites that can be customized to meet your dreams?
One of the best reasons for creating a wedding website is the convenience. If you've already started planning your big day, you know that the amount of details you need to track can be overwhelming: announcing the engagement, choosing and booking a venue, deciding on your guest list and getting people to reserve the date and RSVP, creating a gift registry, and so much more. The best wedding website services let you put all of those pieces in one place, so that you, your significant other, and your loved ones are all on the same page (pun intended).

The Knot is an all-in-one service to help you plan your wedding from start to finish, including the creation of your wedding website. Of all the services we evaluated, The Knot has the most easy-to-navigate dashboard, letting you take care of invites (even matching printed ones, if you like), RSVPs, registry details and so much more - across more than 100 professionally-designed templates. Oh, and did we mention it's all free? The Knot will definitely have you saying, "I do!" when looking for the ideal wedding website builder. This service earns our top ranking.
Joy has made a lot of couples very happy with their wedding website platform: extremely customizable, intuitive set-up, fantastic customer service, all for free. Whether you want a fully-featured website complete with RSVPs and gift registry or just a simple password-protected place for friends and family to share photos from your big day, Joy has you covered. This is one of our favorite options among wedding website providers.
For couples who want beautiful designs created by independent artists, matching print invites and other products to match their wedding website, and an easy-to-use platform for pulling it all together, Minted is the right fit. Although you'll have to pay a small one-time fee to access premium features like a custom URL or a photo gallery, this service is still affordable, intuitive, and worth considering.
If you want a wedding website that is upscale, on-trend in design, and unlikely to be seen anywhere else on the internet, Riley & Grey is your best option - assuming, of course, that you don't mind paying $35/month or $240/year for many of the same under-the-hood features (RSVP management, travel info, registry links, etc.) as the free or less-expensive platforms out there. You'll have to enter an email address to preview the extensive design templates on this site, but you'll be blown away by the range of choices. This is a great choice for a genuinely unique-to-you wedding website.
Wix is an all-around platform for building websites of every kind, and they offer 26 templates specifically for weddings and related services. Their interface is a lot more intuitive than some of the other website builders we evaluated, but you should still expect to do a lot of the work when it comes to adding your registry and laying out your site. This is a good choice if you have some web design experience or if you want a lot of control over your wedding site layout, but it might be too much work if you just want to get your site together quickly and easily.
MyEvent has been around for a long time; in fact, this event website provider used to be our highest-ranked option for wedding websites. But, now that you have so many options to choose from that are geared solely towards weddings, MyEvent is too broad to still be our favorite among wedding websites. You'll still get a free trial from this reputable company if you want to give it a try, but we think most couples will prefer a website provider that specializes in weddings.
Squarespace may be the platform millions of people have used to build their websites, but unless you're a web developer or already familiar with the platform, you may find yourself frustrated when trying to use it for your wedding. This site makes it challenging to find what you need, to integrate common features like an RSVP list or registry, and to even figure out how to edit the pre-filled template text. We recommend that you choose a wedding website service that isn't a jack-of-all-trades.
eWedding started out strong, with an easy-to-use interface and features we didn't find on competitor wedding website services. But, customers report not being able to get any kind of support or response from the company, and our own research turned up the same results. With every impression that the service stopped being actively in business 1-2 years ago, you're taking your chances when using eWedding for your wedding website (even with the fun features).
Wedding Window has never been at the top of our rankings when it comes to wedding websites. Unfortunately, their rating has fallen even lower with an "F" grade from the Better Business Bureau, customer complaints that their calls and emails go unanswered, and unreliable service. We recommend that you choose a higher-rated provider for your wedding website.
And, many providers of wedding websites don't stop once the "I dos" have been said and the rings have been exchanged. The most robust options let you upload and preserve photos from your ceremony, reception, and even the honeymoon if you wish - so that your friends and family can continue to share your joy for as long as you keep the site going.
So, what should you consider as you decide which platform is the best for building your ideal wedding website? Here are several criteria that could help you narrow down the options:
