SelectBlinds has a unique origin story that dates back to 2003 when founder Rick Steele sought to create custom window shades for his daughter to improve her sleep quality. Frustrated by the limited options and high prices, Steele took matters into his own hands and founded SelectBlinds. Since then, the company has grown exponentially by offering a vast array of blinds and shades for windows and doors, earning recognition as one of the Best Online Shops according to Newsweek Magazine.
Helpful pictures and filters
The company's website is user-friendly and provides valuable information about each product. On listings, you'll see detailed product specifications, installation guides, shipping information, and production timelines. The products are separated into three main categories, Blinds and Shades, Curtains, and Motorization. This way, you can select which is more important to you at the start. SelectBlinds uses helpful drawings of different styles of blinds and shades to help you figure out what the different names/styles mean. When you select a type of blind, you can use the helpful site filters to narrow down by color, size, price, room, feature, and brand.
Over 1,000 unique styles and colors
SelectBlinds has an extensive inventory that includes a wide range of blind types. The company categorizes its products into four distinct classes: Essential, Signature, Premium, and Luxury. Each class offers a unique combination of price, durability, and quality. For instance, the Essential class provides budget-friendly, simple, and strong window treatments, while the Luxury class offers indulgent, unique, and superior designs. SelectBlinds prioritizes child safety by offering cordless options on many blind styles to prevent accidents. If you look at the different styles of blinds, you'll find 7 products in wood blinds, 12 products in faux wood, and 23 products in vertical blinds. In real wood, the color selection goes up to 43 different styles offering up to 301 unique blinds. For faux wood, you'll find up to 33 different colors offering you up to 396 unique blinds. Finally, with vertical blinds, you'll find up to 28 different colors offering up to 644 total styles.
Prices from $18.55 per set
SelectBlinds' transparent pricing policy makes it easy for you to compare prices and make informed decisions. The website provides pricing information for each product based on the dimensions of the window it will cover. To show you how the prices at SelectBlinds stack up against competitors, we looked at the prices of three popular styles of blinds.
F.I.T. Guarantee, 90-day satisfaction guarantee + multiple warranties
Under SelectBlinds' F.I.T. Guarantee, you will receive accurate sizing for your blinds and shades or receive a free remake if necessary. Even if you make measurement errors, you can contact the company within 30 days to receive a remake at no additional cost, as long as you cover the $10 shipping fee. SelectBlinds also offers a 90-day satisfaction guarantee that promises to resolve any issues at no cost (with an additional 10% off) if there is a defect in the material or workmanship of the window treatments. As for warranties, you can choose from three warranty options: a free 3-year limited warranty that covers defects, internal mechanisms, and brackets; a 5-year limited warranty that covers the same items for an additional $2.48; or a 5-year unlimited warranty that covers accidents and damage for $8.68.

Impressive reputation for quality
SelectBlinds allows unfiltered product reviews from customers on all of its blinds and shades. This transparency provides an honest assessment of the product's quality, construction, installation, and value. Hundreds or even thousands of reviews are available for each product, leaving no room for uncertainty about the product's performance. Plus, on third-party review sites, SelectBlinds has a stellar reputation. The company currently holds an "A+” rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau as well as a 4.6-star average rating from reviews left with the BBB. On other review sites, SelectBlinds remains just as popular, like its 4.1-star average rating from Trustpilot. Most customers say that their blinds were beautiful, exactly as depicted, and worked perfectly. While a few customers who had trouble with motorized options left some complaints recently, the feedback remains positive overall with 72% of all reviews at 5 stars.
Top-rated for its customer satisfaction
With the high popularity of SelectBlinds, it's on par with several other top competitors. But its standout features are the generous guarantees and multiple levels of available (and affordable) warranties. These benefits skyrocket SelectBlinds to the top of our list. With its commitment to transparency and customer satisfaction, SelectBlinds has earned our highest ranking among window blind retailers.

Easy to find what you need right away
At Lowe's, you can browse through three main categories when shopping for window blinds: custom window treatments, in-stock blinds, and shades, or popular brands. The custom option allows you to choose from a wide range of sizes, colors, and materials to create a unique look that suits your style, but these may take longer to arrive. On the other hand, the in-stock section features readily available blinds and shades that are perfect for common window sizes. Each product description provides in-depth information on installation, warranty terms, specifications, and features to help you make informed decisions. From standard to unique styles with motorized features or moisture-resistant materials, Lowe's has plenty to offer.
Thousands of unique blind designs
When it comes to window treatments, Lowe's offers a wide selection of blinds and shades. You'll find tons of different brands like Allen + Roth, Levolor, Bali, Coolaroo, Project Source, Serena by Lutron, Graber, and Gila. On top of brands, you'll find products that include a range of materials and styles like faux wood blinds, mini blinds, sheer shades, roller shades, solar shades, outdoor shades, and more. However, you'll find some styles are more popular than others. For example, there are only 2 "in stock” wood blinds to choose from while faux wood has 32 different types. Vertical blinds have 178 different styles to choose from. However, once you get into customization, the total number of blinds is shocking. In wood blinds, with only 2 styles on offer, there are a total of 63 colors to choose from. In faux wood blinds, we saw between 6-20 colors, offering a total of up to 640 blinds. Finally in vertical blinds, we saw up to 152 different colors and fabrics which could offer thousands of unique vertical blinds.
Prices from $21.98 per set
The cost of window treatments at Lowe's varies depending on the brand, features, and size. However, the company's "Lowe's Price Promise" helps you get the best deal possible. If you find an identical in-stock item at a lower price from a competitor retailer, Lowe's will match the price and offer the lowest price available. To show you how the prices stack up against competitors, we did a quick comparison for wood, faux wood, and vertical blinds. Here's what we found:
Exchange guarantee and free shipping
Lowe's offers a range of benefits that make it an attractive retailer. The CustomFit Exchange Guarantee allows you to return items for free if you're not satisfied with your purchase. Lowe's also offers free shipping on returns if you don't want to drive in to make your return. The same options apply to getting your blinds too. You can either have them shipped for free to your home or drive to your local Lowe's location for pickup.
Praised by customers and the BBB
With thousands of reviews available for each product, it's easy to see what products are preferred and highly rated by other customers like you. Outside of its website, Lowe's has an impressive reputation for such a large company. Lowe's has an "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau and hundreds of thousands of satisfied customers who rely on the company for their home improvement needs. While not all reviews out there are regarding Lowe's window treatments, the positive reviews for this home one-stop shop are impressive.
Top pick and a one-stop shop too
Lowe's is a reputable retailer that offers an unparalleled range of products and services for home improvement projects. With its extensive inventory of window treatments from popular brands like Allen + Roth and Levolor to its CustomFit Exchange Guarantee and customer reviews section on its website, Lowe's provides an exceptional shopping experience. As a one-stop shop for your various home decor and improvement jobs, you can't beat Lowe's for convenience. And with impressively low pricing, Lowe's easily stands out from the pack, earning an excellent rating in our reviews of the best window blinds retailers.
American Blinds has a rich history dating back to the 1950s when it first began as a mail-order business selling blinds and wallpaper. In 1993, the company took a bold step by becoming one of the first companies to transition to an online-only operation. Today, American Blinds still operates solely online, with over 70 expert window decorators based in its Houston, Texas office. This team provides personalized design and sales advice to customers.
Tons of filters to help you browse
When browsing for blinds on American Blinds, you can filter your search by product type, such as bamboo shades, mini blinds, outdoor shades, roller shades, or other specialized types of blinds. Each product page provides detailed information on manufacturing timeframes, allowing you to plan your order based on the desired project timeline for your home. American Blinds also offers free swatches for up to 10 window treatments, so you can accurately predict how the blinds will look in your room. You can also browse the entire selection of blinds or shades all in one place. This way you can easily compare different styles side-by-side. There are tons of filters to help you narrow down your options like angled or non-angled, panel and track blinds, what type of control, the material, motorized or not, opacity, slat size, and more.
100-400 color options across different styles
American Blinds offers over 237 products, spanning shades, blinds, verticals, shutters, and draperies. The company partners with well-known brands such as Bali, Bella View, Coolaroo, Levolor, SimplyEco, and SouthSeas to bring you an extensive array of window treatments. There are 11 styles for wood blinds; on average, each style has 10-12 colors, making between 110-132 total designs in wood blinds alone. For faux wood blinds, there are 17 styles available. There are between 10-18 different colors for each blind style, making between 170-306 color options in faux wood blinds. Finally, in vertical blinds, there are 15 different styles. There are up to 21 different colors on some of the styles, offering up to 315 different total colors across vertical blinds.
Prices start at $19.97 per set
American Blinds is known for its transparent pricing policy. The company's slogan "Designer looks, not designer prices" reflects its commitment to providing high-quality products at affordable prices. There are prices on every listing, making it easy to see how much you might be spending at a glance. Many products are often on sale, offering discounts of up to 40% off. To compare prices across different retailers, we looked at the cost of wood, faux wood, and vertical blind prices. The price points go from the base style with the base color to the top-tier style in the most expensive color. Here's what we found at American Blinds:
Price match guarantee and limited lifetime warranty
American Blinds' "Love It For Less Guarantee" means that if you find an identical product at a lower price within 14 days of purchase, you can contact American Blinds to verify the competing product and receive a refund for the difference. In addition to its competitive pricing policy, American Blinds offers a 30-day satisfaction guarantee. If you are not completely satisfied with your blinds, you can return them within 30 days and receive a replacement or a full refund. Warranty information is specific to individual product pages and typically covers defects in material and workmanship for a specific period. For many options, you'll find a Limited Lifetime Warranty. According to American Blinds, this covers their products on defects in materials, mechanisms, or workmanship for as long as you own the product. This warranty is not transferable to a new owner if you sell your home.
Free shipping on all orders
American Blinds stands out from the pack by offering free shipping on all orders. This will help you keep costs down as you browse for blinds. No matter how many you buy (one set or enough for every window in the home) you'll qualify for totally free shipping. Returns are another matter, though, as the warranties and satisfaction guarantees do not cover the cost of return shipping, so keep that in mind if you need to send something back.
A favorite customers come back to
American Blinds' commitment to customer satisfaction is evident in its review system. Customers can leave honest feedback on products, rating them between one and five stars and sharing comments and photos. This feature provides valuable insights for potential customers looking for a specific type of blind. Many products have received hundreds of reviews, giving customers a comprehensive understanding of each product's performance. The generally positive feedback on American Blinds' website is mirrored on third-party sites too. American Blinds currently holds an "A+” rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau as well as a 4.5-star average rating on Trustpilot. Many of the reviewers are multi-purchase customers who are so happy with the service at American Blinds that they return again and again when they have new window projects.
Custom designs without the high cost
American Blinds has received top-notch reviews from customers, and it is generally considered a trustworthy choice for window treatments. The company's transparent pricing policy, informative product reviews, free swatches, free shipping, and good return policy make it an attractive option for those in the market for new blinds. If you're looking for something that has customizability without the high price tag, check out American Blinds.
3 Day Blinds has been a prominent player in the window treatment industry for over four decades, with a history that dates back to 1978. Founded in California, the company got its name from its initial focus on manufacturing mini blinds within a remarkable three-day timeframe. Since then, 3 Day Blinds has expanded its product range to include a wide variety of blinds, shades, shutters, and drapes in an array of patterns, colors, and sizes. The company's commitment to quality and efficiency is evident in its continued manufacturing process, which still takes place within three business days for most products.
Minimalistic website
Browsing is easy at 3 Day Blinds, but that's mostly because the site is really simplistic. There isn't a lot to see here as the products are designed to be custom-made for your home. You can preview four different kinds of window dressings - blinds, shades, drapes, and shutters - but there are no filters to narrow down the options or large ranges of products to browse. The blinds section of the shop has four sub-categories: wood, faux wood, vertical, and metal. From there, you have to select a type to see swatches, slat sizes, finishes, and mounting.
Competitive color and style selection
While the site is minimal, once you get into the selection areas for your specific blinds, 3 Day Blinds offers an extensive selection of colors and patterns. Within each category of blinds, you can explore various sub-options to find the perfect match for your home decor. In the blinds category, there are 18 different colors for 2” slats and 5 different colors for 2.5” slats for wood blinds. In faux wood, you can find 25 colors for 2” slats and 2 colors for 2.5” slats. In vertical blinds, there are 7 different sizes with a total of 192 different colors and materials to choose from. Each style is accompanied by a range of swatch choices, finishes, and mounts. The sheer breadth of choices is likely to leave customers feeling overwhelmed but ultimately satisfied with their selection.
Contact for pricing
One notable drawback of shopping online at 3 Day Blinds is the absence of pricing information on their website. While you can view products and customize them as desired, you won't have a clear idea of the cost until you book a free in-home design consultation. During this consultation, a design expert will visit your home to provide personalized design advice, showcase samples, and provide a same-day quote. To determine if 3 Day Blinds services your area, you'll need to contact the company directly.
Impressive warranty and 30-day replacement
The warranty offered by 3 Day Blinds is another area where the company stands out from the competition. When you purchase blinds from them, you'll receive a lifetime warranty on operating mechanisms (excluding motors and remote controls for electric blinds), seven years of coverage on cords and ladders, and five years of coverage on fabrics, motors, and remote controls. If you encounter any manufacturing defects or shipping damage within 30 days of receiving your order, 3 Day Blinds will work promptly to resolve the issue.
No return policy
In terms of returns shipping and returns, 3 Day Blinds does not have a formal return policy. Alongside that, the cost of shipping and installation will be determined at the time of your consultation. However, given this lack of return policy (due to the custom nature of the blinds), it's not surprising that 3 Day Blinds also doesn't provide refunds or exchanges.
Top marks for professionalism
Despite those limitations, 3 Day Blinds remains a popular choice among customers due to its excellent reputation and high-quality products. With an "A" rating from the Better Business Bureau and thousands of positive customer reviews, it's clear that many customers have had a satisfying experience with the company. ConsumerAffairs shows a 4.6-star average rating from reviewers, where customers particularly praised the perfect color match and the professional nature of the designers who came during consultations and installation. While some might find the lack of pricing information on the website frustrating, the benefits of working with 3 Day Blinds seem to outweigh this drawback for many consumers.
Stands out for custom blinds
While we'd love to see more transparency in the pricing, there's no denying 3 Day Blinds' long-standing and highly-rated repetition. If the company offers consultations in your area and you're looking for high-quality custom blinds with exceptional customer service, 3-Day Blinds could be an excellent option to consider. The consultation itself is free, making this a great way to get started even if you don't move forward with 3 Day Blinds.
Blinds is an online retailer that has been in operation since 2004, offering a unique selection of window treatments. Blinds provides a comprehensive selection of shades, verticals, draperies, plantation shutters, outdoor shades, and specialty products. As part of Global Custom Commerce (GCC), the largest online-only retailer in the home decor space, Blinds has established itself as a leading authority in providing totally online services for upgrading your window treatments.
Simple, user-friendly browsing experience
The product pages on Blinds' website are meticulously designed to provide you with a thorough understanding of each window treatment. Each product features a series of high-quality images, unfiltered product reviews, an estimated ship date, and extensive product details. The estimated installation time for each type of blind is listed, along with short video clips showcasing some of the product's features. You can also access information on specific considerations such as child safety, hypoallergenic and eco-friendly fabrics, nighttime privacy, and more. The selections are separated into helpful categories including blinds, shades, shutters, and motorized window treatments. Once you select a type of window treatment, you can view all of the blinds in a scrolling window. Blinds offer helpful filters like control, material, slat size, brand, and upgrades, among others, to help you narrow your options.
Over 720 different products
You'll have a lot of fun looking through the different styles at Blinds. To break it down a bit, we looked at the numbers across different styles of blinds. For real wood blinds, you'll find 13 different styles. Among those styles, there are plenty of color options. On average there were 13 different wood colors, and up to 28 different tape colors for extra customization. This means you can find around 170 wood colors across all 13 styles and over 300 tape colors. For faux wood, you'll find 24 styles to choose from. Within those styles, we found between 6 and 8 different colors. This means there are up to 192 different blinds in the faux wood section. Finally, in vertical blinds, we found 18 styles to start with. There were between 21 and 40 different colors to choose from (depending on the style you selected). This means there are up to 720 different combinations of vertical blind styles and colors at Blinds.
Prices from $53.99 per set
Blinds' pricing system allows you to input your desired width and height and see the price on each listing. Each type of fabric or color associated with a given blind carries its own cost, and you can see the cost for each of them. To compare costs across retailers, we looked at the least expensive (base blinds with base color) and most expensive (top-tier blinds with most expensive color) in wood, faux wood, and vertical blinds. Here's what we found at Blinds:
SureFit guarantee and 3-year warranty
Blinds' SureFit guarantee provides peace of mind if you make mistakes when measuring your windows. If there is a measurement error, Blinds will remake the window treatment at no additional cost to the customer (unless there is a difference in cost between the old and new blinds). This policy is limited to one remake per item and four per household in a lifetime. In addition to this guarantee, Blinds also offers a standard warranty for all its products. If you purchase window treatments from Blinds, you will be covered by a 3-year warranty. The warranty covers manufacturer defects and shipping damage reported within 15 days, as well as materials, operating mechanisms, and parts for 3 years from the date of delivery.
Free shipping and 10 free samples
For the blinds you are interested in, you can request up to 10 free samples to be shipped to your home. Simply add the samples to their cart as they browse through the blinds. All orders ship for free, eliminating the need for additional costs. When it comes to installation, Blinds offers you two options: measuring and installing the blinds yourself or hiring a professional to do it for you. Professional installation through Blinds costs $199. Shipping for all your blinds is free for the contiguous US.
Most customers love their experience
Blinds has an impressive reputation in the industry, backed up by an "A+” rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau. On top of that, the BBB shows an average score of 4.2 stars out of 5 for Blinds. Likewise, Trustpilot shows a 4-star average rating. In general, customers praise the extremely reasonable prices, the great customer service, and the impressive professional installation. Those who had complaints mostly noted that the price match guarantee listed in the terms and conditions had a lot of exclusions. They were frustrated that not all window treatments were cheaper at Blinds than at competitors.
Competitive with warranty and shipping policies
An impressive company overall, Blinds stands out with its solid warranty, free shipping, and SureFit guarantee. While there is also a price match guarantee, customers have noted this excludes many online competitors. So, if you choose to go with Blinds, you may want to double-check the prices against the exact same blinds at other retailers before you commit. However, in general, Blinds' prices are fair and the other bonuses make it a very appealing service. For this reason, it earns a solid rating in our review.
Blinds Express is an online retailer that has established itself as a reputable destination for window treatments. With a physical location in Rochester, New York, they offer blinds, shades, and shutters from renowned brands like Bali, Levolor, and Norm.
Helpful browsing and measuring guides
Blinds Express offers a simple search function that allows you to quickly find the specific product you're looking for. You can also browse by brand or type of window treatment. To customize your blinds, you can select from an extensive range of colors, specify the height and width of your window, and choose mounting options. Blinds Express also includes detailed instructions with each order to help with the installation and cleaning of your new blinds. As with many retailers on our list, here you're expected to do your own measuring, so there won't be a pro stopping by to help. By taking the time to measure twice and install correctly, you can use Blinds Express' measuring guide to avoid common issues like incorrect sizing.
Over 800 blinds to choose from
Blinds Express offers nine different types of blinds, including metal, wood, faux wood, cellular, zebra-banded-layered, skylight, vertical, and more. While there are tons of different styles across the site, some of the standby styles are a little low on inventory compared to other retailers. For example, there are only 8 styles for wood blinds. However, Blinds Express makes up for it with other styles. There are 23 styles of faux wood blinds and 94 styles of vertical blinds, and this doesn't even include colors yet. For the wood blinds, most styles have 10-11 colors, offering you up to 88 different blinds to choose from. For faux wood, you can expect a similar range of colors (about 10-11 per style), offering up to 253 different blinds. Finally, in vertical blinds, the colors range from 6-9 different styles. This offers you over 800 different blinds in that section.
Prices from $39 per set
For a site offering "custom” blinds, the prices here aren't outrageous, but they are noticeably higher (even on sale) than some of the other retailers in our review. To give you an accurate comparison between Blinds Express and its competitors, we looked at three types of blinds and their price ranges. Here's what we found:
Price match guarantee
Blinds Express offers a price match guarantee, which means you should be confident in getting the best deal. However, since the prices at Blinds Express are noticeably higher than those at competitors, we're a little concerned about how this guarantee works in practice. You may want to read the fine print to make sure that there aren't any major exclusions for this price match. As far as we could find in our research, the only requirement for price matching is that all specifications including shipping are the same as the product on Blinds Express; then, the company will match or beat the final price.
Free shipping but no returns allowed
Standard shipping is included with most orders, except Norm brand and freight-sized items. Normal shipping typically takes between two and three weeks after an order is placed. Since products come from different vendors and facilities, it's not uncommon to receive orders in multiple deliveries with some parts arriving sooner than others. For returns, Blinds Express allows you to return blinds only if they require warranty repairs. Since all products are made custom, they are non-returnable.
Impressive BBB scores and praise from customers
Blinds Express values customer feedback and encourages reviews on each product page. While the company does post customer testimonials on its website, these reviews are filtered and may not provide an accurate representation of the overall customer experience. Instead, you can see Blinds Express' reputation on the Better Business Bureau and third-party review sites. Currently Blinds Express holds a top rating of "A+” and accreditation from the BBB. On third-party review sites, however, the number of reviews is pretty small. Most platforms show just one or two reviews, making it hard to gauge the company as a whole. On the other hand, those few reviews are almost all 5 stars.
Competitive, but needs better prices
Blinds Express is a solid choice for window treatments. While it may not excel in areas like pricing competitiveness or its selection of wood blinds, it offers a good overall selection of products and customization options across the entire site. For these reasons, Blinds Express receives an "above average” rating among window blind retailers due to its average performance in various aspects of its business operations, and the general lack of third-party reviews. For this reason, it earns a just-above-mid-tier rating.
Blinds Chalet is a prominent online retailer that carries an extensive range of window treatments, including cellular, bamboo, roller, and Roman shades, as well as faux wood blinds, mini blinds, and shutters. Founded in 2001, the company has built a reputation for delivering high-quality products at affordable prices. The retailer is frequently featured by reputable media outlets such as CBS, NBC, Fox News, USA Today, and OWN, showing how popular Blinds Chalet is among competitors.
A customer-focused, detailed site
When browsing on Blinds Chalet's website, you can easily compare prices by filtering your search by slat size, lift systems, lead time, color, light control, slat size, and cell style. This allows you to quickly view pictures of different blind designs and their corresponding prices. By providing the width and height of your window at the top of the page, you can see prices right away for the exact size you will need. The website's product pages offer detailed breakdowns of each product's features and benefits. One customer-focused part of the site that impressed us was Blinds Chalet's comprehensive "How To" guides that cover measurement tips, installation instructions, FAQs, Q&As, and information on how to save energy in the home with window treatments. This way, you can feel confident about your purchase even if you're new to buying blinds.
Over 600 blind styles and colors to choose from
While the selection of blinds might seem smaller at Blinds Chalet than its competitors, this is before you get into the customization. For example, Blinds Chalet has 5 styles in stock for real wood blinds, 9 styles for faux wood, and 14 styles for vertical blinds. But once you get into the product pages and see the colors and customizations, there are a lot more options than it initially seems. On average the real wood blinds have 17-18 different colors, providing you with up to 185 different configurations. The faux wood blinds generally have between 5-10 colors on each listing. This offers you up to 140 unique blind styles to choose from. Finally, the vertical blinds have between 20-45 colors and fabrics depending on what you choose. This offers you up to 630 unique vertical blind styles to accent your home.
Prices from $17.39 per set
For those looking for a bargain, Blinds Chalet often runs special promotions and sales throughout the year. During these sales events, you can enjoy significant discounts of up to 65% or more on your entire order. One of the standout features of Blinds Chalet is its provision of standard upgrades that other retailers often charge extra for. For instance, cordless blinds for child protection, energy-efficient blinds, or top-down bottom-up designs come at no additional cost. To compare the cost of Blinds Chalet to its competitors, we looked at the pricing for wood, faux wood, and vertical blinds. Here's what we found:
3-year standard warranty and price matching
Blinds Chalet stands out from its competitors with its comprehensive warranty package. The company offers a standard 3-year warranty that covers defects in material and workmanship, operating mechanisms, cell separation, warping slats, broken vertical vanes, and restrings. You can also upgrade to a 5-year warranty for a guaranteed fit that covers any fit issues or concerns about color fading. There is also an upgrade for a separate 5-year warranty that's "Guaranteed to love”. This warranty covers mismeasurements, accidental damage, color fading, and wear and tear, and allows customers to return their blinds within 30 days if they're unsatisfied. This level of commitment to quality is unparalleled in the industry. Blinds Chalet also offers a price match guarantee. If you find a lower price anywhere else on an identical item, you can contact Blinds Chalet to qualify for the lower price.
Free shipping on all orders
As an added bonus, Blinds Chalet offers a competitive shipping policy. All orders at Blinds Chalet qualify for free shipping. This policy is on par with most of the top competitors in the industry and is somewhat surprising given the already very low prices for blinds.
Mixed reviews for Blinds Chalet
While we love the prices at Blinds Chalet, the company's reputation is somewhat mixed. Currently Blinds Chalet holds a full "A+" rating and accreditation from the Better Business Bureau with overwhelmingly positive reviews from satisfied customers on that platform. However, on other third-party review platforms, the story is completely different. Trustpilot shows that the average rating for Blinds Chalet is 2.2 stars out of 5. Customers complained about issues with the 30-day guarantee, problems with colors matching the samples in their final order, and overall displeasure with the quality of the blinds.
Low prices keep it competitive
While Blinds Chalet is an excellent site for those seeking low-cost window treatments, it may not be the most reliable. While the company still has a perfect "A+” rating from the BBB, we have to take the other poor reviews into account. Given that there seems to be some discrepancy in the quality of service across different customers' experiences, the low prices may not be worth it. For this reason, Blinds Chalet earns a "just okay” rating in our review. It still has some really competitive options, but you may need to do some extra research with their customer service (and color matching) to be sure you get exactly what you want in the end.
Justblinds has undergone significant growth since its humble beginnings as a home-based business in 1999. Today, it is one of the largest window-covering retailers in the US, having helped over 1 million customers find the perfect blinds, shades, and shutters for their homes. Justblinds manufactures all its products in-house, which allows for greater control over quality and customization options. The company's commitment to quality has been recognized by prominent organizations such as DIY Network, HGTV, and Design on a Dime.
Jump right into customization
While the first impressions of the site are a little cluttered, with the main page immediately turning into a long scrolling window, you can easily browse for the blinds and styles you want using the top navigation bar. With options including blinds, shades, and shutters, you can get exactly the look you want. The actual selection of blinds is a little different at Justblinds, too. Instead of each category taking you to a scrolling window of all styles, you'll be taken to one customization window depending on what you choose. For example, if you pick real wood blinds, you'll be navigated to a customization window where you can add color and sizing changes. Justblinds offers a live update of the price as you make adjustments and a detailed product description of every style of window treatment.
Up to 40 colors to choose from
The selection at Justblinds is pretty slim since you can only see one "type” for each style of window dressing (one wood type, one faux wood, and so on); however, there are plenty of colors in each style to make the blinds your own. For real wood blinds, there are 20 different colors to choose from. In faux wood, you'll find 21 different colors. Finally, in vertical blinds, you'll find 40 colors and materials to choose from. Compared to other sites that have 800+ designs when you combine styles with color options, Justblinds is a little behind the pack in selection.
Prices from $31.20 per set
Justblinds' low pricing is a major draw. By operating solely online without a physical showroom, the company can keep its overhead costs low, with savings then passed on to you in the form of competitive prices. In fact, the company's prices are often comparable to those of other retailers, especially during occasional sitewide sales. To show you how prices stack up against competitors, we priced wood, faux wood, and vertical blinds at Justblinds:
30-day satisfaction guarantee with upgraded warranty
Justblinds offers several satisfaction guarantees that set it apart from other retailers. The company's 30-day measure protection policy allows you to request a free remake of your order if the sizing you submitted was incorrect. On top of that, Justblinds offers a 30-day design assurance policy that allows you to get something remade if you're not satisfied with the appearance of your blinds. There is a catch: you must upgrade to the deluxe warranty before ordering to qualify for these policies. The cost of upgrading is $10 per blind. If you don't choose the upgraded warranty coverage, the standard warranty offered by Justblinds covers materials and operating mechanisms for three years and manufacturing defects reported within 14 days of receipt.
Free shipping except for large blinds
The manufacturing time for Justblinds' products can vary significantly, depending on the specific product and the complexity of the design. Our research found that some orders took as little as eight days to complete, while others took up to 47 business days. On the bright side, shipping is free on all orders (except for Hawaii and Alaska) unless the order exceeds 96" in width or height, in which case a $30 fee applies.
Mixed reviews leave us with questions
Customer reviews of Justblinds are polarized, with some customers raving about the company's products and services and others expressing frustration with customer service and product quality. On the bright side, Justblinds has earned a perfect "A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau, though on other third-party sites like Trustpilot, the score is 3.5 stars out of 5. Unfortunately, many of the most recent reviews were 1-star ratings. Complaints included that colors were wrong on delivery, the mechanisms broke within a month of use, and one customer ran into trouble where Justblinds wouldn't help them with a sizing issue because they didn't purchase the higher-level warranty. While many customers before this praised the ease of purchase and installation, it seems the more recent experiences with this retailer are going downhill.
Doesn't stand up to the competition
While Justblinds offers some attractive features such as low prices, it doesn't have as many customization options as its competitors, and it falls short in terms of quality and customer satisfaction. With average customer ratings and increasing complaints in recent months, we're a little wary of Justblinds' business practices.
Wayfair's impressive history dates back over 20 years, during which it has grown into one of the largest and most recognizable online home goods retailers globally. The company has served an astonishing 29 million customers, offering an expansive range of products exceeding 22 million items - and counting. Wayfair's extensive product catalog includes nearly every home goods category, from blinds and organization to outdoor furniture, bedding, bath essentials, rugs, pillows, decor, appliances, lighting, kitchenware, home improvement products, and more. The company's selection of window blinds brands includes Levolor, Symple Stuff, Linen Avenue, Harbor Shades, Ebern Designs, Wayfair Basics, Andover Mills, Mistana, and A Better Blind.
Impressive filters and details
Wayfair offers multiple ways to search for specific products. You can select from a list of standard sizes or input your own window dimensions to find matching options. Filters on Wayfair offer the ability to sort by color, type, light filtration, mounting location, features, material, price, customer ratings, and more. On top of helpful search tools, each product description on Wayfair provides an in-depth overview that includes essential details such as delivery estimates, manufacturer information, warranty terms, colors, price, features, weight and dimensions, specifications, and hundreds (sometimes thousands) of unfiltered customer reviews.
Large inventory with unique styles
Wayfair's massive inventory of window treatments is unparalleled, with over 6,000 results for blinds and shades alone. The sheer volume of options can be overwhelming, but Wayfair's user-friendly website makes it easy to navigate by categorizing products into distinct sections (blinds and shades, curtains and drapes, valances and kitchen curtains, curtain hardware and accessories, and blackout curtains). One aspect that sets Wayfair apart from other retailers is its focus on standard sizes rather than custom-made blinds. While custom sizes can be expensive and often non-returnable, Wayfair's extensive range of standard sizes helps you research all possible styles and looks in one place. Just don't expect to find anything to cover a really uniquely-sized window.
Some color options are more limited
To break down Wayfair's numbers a bit, there are 73 different styles in real wood, 7 results for faux wood, and a whopping 581 different styles for vertical blinds. The only difference with Wayfair is most options only come with a few colors, making the listings more limited in customizations than other companies. For example, real wood blinds have up to 11 colors, offering up to 803 different styles, faux wood offers up to 3 colors on most styles which gives you around 21 unique blinds, and there are only 3 colors on many of the vertical blinds, and others offer only 1 color. However, this does still leave you with up to 1,743 different color combinations to choose from.
Prices from $29.99 per set
Wayfair claims unbeatable prices as another significant advantage of shopping there. The company offers the latest styles at prices that are hard to match elsewhere. Most products are available on sale at some point in time, making it easy to snag a great deal even at full price. To check out how those low prices stack up against competitors we looked at three popular blinds: wood, faux food, and vertical.
Once we saw the prices, we weren't sure they really counted as unbeatable. While things like faux wood were more affordable than some competitors, other blinds started much higher than similar items at competitors. This may be due to the slightly larger standard size. Many of Wayfair's listings didn't offer the 24” x 36” options we saw and priced out at other retailers.
30-day return policy
Wayfair's customer-friendly policies include a 30-day return policy for orders over $35. All orders over this amount also qualify for free shipping. Under this policy, you can return any product within 30 days of delivery for a refund or store credit. Keep in mind that you'll be responsible for return shipping costs in this case. As for warranties, since Wayfair offers so many different brands, the warranties will be listed on the individual product pages.
1-star ratings warn of poor customer service.
While Wayfair seems to have a standout reputation according to its "A+" rating from the Better Business Bureau, other third-party reviews tell a totally different story. According to Trustpilot and ConsumerAffairs, Wayfair has a 1-star rating on average. Customers have complained about tons of issues, from price changes suddenly before shipping to broken items, issues with returns, and general unhappiness with customer service responses from Wayfair. While the company does offer solid products, it doesn't stand out for actually helping customers when problems arise.
A good site for research
Although Wayfair may not specialize in a specific area like blinds-dedicated stores do, it has a lot of blinds to search through. As a preliminary search for style and design, this may be a great resource. However, we might not recommend it for purchases due to the high volume of complaints regarding Wayfair's customer service. For these reasons, as a window blinds retailer, it earns a lower rating in our review.
At Affordable Blinds, they claim their goal is to provide you with high-quality window treatments at affordable prices. Founded in 2007, Affordable Blinds has evolved over the years to become a leading provider of home décor and window treatments. In 2018, the company expanded its retail branch, driven by founder Blanca Martinez's passion for home décor and commitment to delivering a superior shopping experience. Today, Affordable Blinds is a well-established retailer in the field of home décor and window treatments.
Old-school clutter needs an update
Getting started at Affordable Blinds is simple, but we noticed right away that this website isn't quite as updated as some of the others in our review. First, some of the photos are distorted or pixelated, giving an overall impression of low quality. There was also a range of advertisements and large icons that made the site a little busy to shop on. Finding what you need isn't difficult despite the visual distractions, with the blinds and shades being available on the top menu bar. Once you select a style to start shopping, you can use the site's filters for color, category, location, lift, and light control. However, the photos are a bit small and the site could use a facelift.
Minimal selection missing major styles
The company offers custom blinds, shades, and curtains, but it's much more limited than other retailers. For example, in the blinds section, there are only three styles: cellular, faux wood, and mini blinds. At most of our other retailers, we looked at the number of styles in real wood, faux wood, and vertical blinds, but two out of those three options aren't offered by Affordable Blinds at all. There are only 16 styles of faux wood blinds, too, which makes this site feel much more empty than its competitors. Within faux wood blinds, you'll find the styles have anywhere from 5-10 different colors. This means you might find up to 160 total color combinations, but this is still much lower than the colors offered elsewhere.
Prices from $37.56 per set
For our price comparison, we usually look at the cost of real wood blinds, faux wood blinds, and vertical blinds. However, at Affordable Blinds, we can only show you pricing for one of these three. This was particularly shocking as every other retailer had all three styles. Here's what we found for just the faux wood prices:
Worry-Free Fit and lifetime warranty
At Affordable Blinds, you'll find a lifetime warranty on its products at no extra cost to you. If you make a mistake when measuring your window size, the 100% Worry-Free Fit Policy has got you covered too. Affordable Blinds will remake the blinds for you without any additional charge. You can also find a 110% best-price guarantee on all products at Affordable Blinds, as the last of three impressive customer-focused policies that support your new blinds.
Free shipping
Another bonus of shopping at Affordable Blinds is that you'll get 100% free shipping on all window treatments, which means you can worry less about the total cost of your blinds, and focus on designs and colors. When you shop at Affordable Blinds, you might think you can expect excellent customer service, including free samples and post-sale support.
Reviews raise questions about service and popularity
Unfortunately, Affordable Blinds is a bit hard to judge with its reputation. According to the numbers, Affordable Blinds is highly popular with customers. The company holds a top-tier "A+” rating from the Better Business Bureau. On top of that, Trustpilot shows an average rating of 4.6 stars out of 5. However, on further inspection, this might be an outdated rating. The last positive review for Affordable Blinds was a year ago, and all reviews from then up to the time of this evaluation are one star. Customers complain about extremely high prices compared to competitors as well as issues with shipments being canceled without warning. There are also no reviews for Affordable Blinds outside of Trustpilot, which raises questions about how popular the company is.
Not enough inventory to be worth it
While Affordable Blinds' reputation is up in the air, there's one thing we can't ignore: the severely limited inventory. If you're looking for a one-stop shop for blinds, this isn't going to be it. Affordable Blinds is missing highly popular styles of blinds and the prices aren't anything to write home about either. In this case, it will be better for your house (and your budget) to look elsewhere. Plus, with increasingly negative reviews, it might just be safer to avoid Affordable Blinds on the whole.
Blinds can instantly update the look and feel of a room, making it feel fresh and inviting. One of the most significant benefits of window blinds is their ability to regulate the amount of light that enters a room. Depending on the season, weather, or time of day, you can adjust your blinds to let in as much or as little light as you desire. This not only helps with temperature control but also creates a cozy and comfortable atmosphere.
With so many options available, it's no wonder window blinds have become an essential component of every home. Making sure you find blinds that offer you the right lighting can totally change the feel of a room. Maybe you need room-darkening for a bedroom or something more sturdy for withstanding pets; either way, there are plenty of retailers out there.
In the past, purchasing window blinds was a time-consuming and laborious process. You had to measure each window, get quotes from different companies, and visit physical stores to browse through limited selections. However, with the advancement of technology and online shopping, this process has become much simpler.
Online tools now allow you to measure your windows accurately and compare prices from various companies with ease. You can browse through tons of window dressings from the comfort of your own home, making it easier than ever to find the right window blinds for your space. And with delivery options that bring your new blinds directly to your doorstep, you can enjoy a stress-free shopping experience.
With so many companies that sell window blinds, it can be hard to know where to start. So, we've put together some criteria for you to consider. Hopefully, these will help you start narrowing down the list:
To help you find the best window blinds for your home, Top Consumer Reviews has thoroughly reviewed and ranked the best online retailers, providing you with valuable information to help you make an informed decision. With this knowledge, we hope you'll be well-equipped to find the perfect window blinds to match your home's aesthetic and bring (or block) light into your homey space.
The window treatments you choose allow you to add a nice visual touch to the beauty of your home or office while allowing you to control its privacy, indoor temperature, and light. Out of the variety of different options you have from which to choose, blinds have remained an enduring and popular choice for many people. Window blinds continue to be popular among homeowners and businesses alike because of the benefits that they offer. Here are some reasons why window blinds are so popular and have maintained their popularity over time.
Window blinds are an affordable choice
Blinds are among the most affordable options for window treatments. They do not require as much material as curtains and take less time to manufacture and install. including the installation, window blinds can cost significantly less than curtains and other options. If you choose plastic blinds, the material costs and the blinds themselves will be lower. By contrast, high-quality vinyl, metal, or wood blinds will have higher material costs and cost more. However, the costs overall even for higher-end blinds will still likely be more affordable than if you choose other window treatments.
By contrast, curtains normally have higher costs at the time that you purchase them because they require more time to make and more material. Curtains also have a higher installation cost because of the process involved in leveling, securing, and styling them.
Superior ability to control light
Whether you opt for Venetian blinds or vertical blinds, the slats allow you to have two-way control over the light that streams into your home or office. You can move vertical blinds from side to side or lift and lower Venetian blinds with the lift cord at the side of the blinds. There are also cordless blind options that allow you to move them from side to side or up and down by simply pushing on the bottom or side rail. Blinds also have tilt wands that allow you to rotate the slats without raising them or moving them to the side. The tilt wand allows you to choose the angle for the light to enter. These features allow you to control how much light enters your home and at what angle it enters. You can also choose to fully close your blinds to prevent much of the light from coming inside.
Ease of installation
Installing window blinds is very simple. Most people can install blinds on their own as a do-it-yourself project with a few simple tools. After determining whether to install them inside the window frame or outside and above it, you can then take measurements of the window space or the outside space that you want the blinds to cover. With these measurements, you can then purchase blinds that will fit. If your windows are not a standard size, you can also custom-order blinds that will fit them or have them trimmed down.
Installation instructions are included with blinds. The only tools you will need are a drill or screwdriver, a pencil to mark where the drill holes for the mounting brackets will go, and a measuring tape. You can then measure from the bottom of the sill on each side to where the mounting brackets will go. Hold the mounting bracket up against where it will go and mark the holes. Then, you can use your drill to make pilot holes. Then, install the brackets and slide in the blinds. Place the end cap over the top, and your blinds will be installed and ready to use. Of course, if you do not feel like installing your own blinds, you can hire an installer to do the job for you for a reasonable price.
Ease of cleaning
Unlike curtains, which have to be taken down, laundered, rehung, and restyled, blinds are simple to clean. Since they have a slick, hard surface, you can easily dust them by using a microfiber cloth. You can use a duster to remove accumulated dust by closing the slats and wiping them with a duster from top to bottom. Then, simply rotate the slats to the opposite direction and clean the dust off of the other side. If you see stains or dirt, you can use a simple cleaning solution and a soft cloth to wipe the slats down followed by drying them off with a soft cloth.
Cleaning curtains is a much more involved process. If you do not want to take them down to launder them, you will have to vacuum curtains to remove dust with a special brush attachment. For stains and dirt, you will need to use a spray cleaner and stain remover before taking them down and laundering them. Then, you will have to go through the process of rehanging and styling your curtains, which can take a long time. The ease of cleaning blinds is one good reason why so many people choose them over curtains.
Durability of blinds
If you maintain your blinds, they can continue looking great for 15 or more years. The synthetic materials used for blinds help them to resist staining and discoloration. even wood blinds normally have a polymer coating which helps to prevent them from fading. Blinds are also rigid and more durable, helping them to avoid normal wear and tear. By contrast, fabric window treatments are prone to tears, mold, staining, and fading, which means that you might expect to have to replace curtains every 10 years or so. The durability of blinds also makes them even more affordable since they come at a lower initial cost and also will not have to be replaced for many years as long as you maintain them.
Energy efficiency during the warmer months
For people who live in warmer climates, blinds are a great option for improving the energy efficiency of their homes. Blinds allow heat to leak from the interior of a room to the outside and help to lower the indoor temperature. This means that blinds can help to reduce your air conditioning bills as compared to curtains during the summer.
Adjustability
Blinds offer great adjustability. You can raise the blinds part of the way or all of the way, or open vertical blinds to only the degree that you want. You can also partially open the slats or open them completely to allow more light to stream in and can control the angle at which the light enters your home. The ability to adjust your blinds to your desired light and privacy standards is a great reason to consider purchasing blinds for your windows.
Broad range of styles, colors, and materials for design possibilities
Blinds are available in many different colors, styles, and materials, allowing you to choose blinds to complement your home's decor. You can choose from plastic, vinyl, wood, faux wood, aluminum, and more and pick the shade and texture of the slats to perfectly match your home's color and design scheme. Blinds can also be paired with curtains to achieve the ultimate look and privacy that you might want.
Privacy
Choosing to install blinds in your windows helps to increase your privacy while allowing you to peer outside between the slats whenever you want. You can change the angle of the slats to keep people from being able to see into your home while still allowing light to come in. The increased privacy that blinds provide to homeowners is one reason why they continue to be popular window treatment choices.
Window blinds offer many benefits, and they have retained their popularity for decades. You can consider the style and material that meets your stylistic preferences and transform the appearance of your home. Your new blinds can also provide you with the versatility, affordability, and privacy that you want to have for your home.
