Justblinds started out as a home-based business in 1999 and is now one of the largest window covering retailers in the US. They've helped over 1 million customers get blinds, shades, and shutters for their home. All the blinds from Justblinds are made by the company itself, so you won't be shopping by brand here. The company has been featured by DIY Network, HGTV, and Design on a Dime.

Low pricing

Since Justblinds is an online company without a physical showroom, their low overhead is what they say helps keep prices down. We agree that the cost of blinds here is quite competitive when compared with other retailers, especially when you factor in their occasional sitewide sales. At the time of this review, we were offered 25% off our total purchase. Shipping is free (excluding Hawaii and Alaska) on all orders unless it is over 96" in width or height. In this case, it carries a $30 fee.

Varying manufacturing times

The manufacturing time for any given product ranges quite a bit. We found that eight days was on the low end, but some shades take as long as 47 business days to make. Pay close attention to this before ordering so you aren't surprised if it takes weeks or even months for your order to show up.

Pay extra for satisfaction guarantees

There is a 30-day measure protection policy offered by Justblinds that says your order can be remade for free if the sizing you submitted was incorrect. There's also a 30-day design assurance policy that says you can get your blinds remade if you don't love the way they look. However, the fine print with these is that you have to upgrade the warranty before ordering to qualify. The cost to upgrade to the deluxe warranty is $10 per blind. Some other companies include policies like this with every purchase, so it's a bummer you have to pay extra for them here.

Basic standard warranty

The standard warranty for Justblinds' products is three years for materials and operating mechanisms. It also covers manufacturing defects that are reported within 14 days of receipt.

Average customer reviews

In their company description, Justblinds talks a lot about how they are members of the Better Business Bureau (BBB), BBBOnline, and BBBCare. That's why we were surprised to see that they aren't actually rated or accredited by the BBB. In addition, they have average reviews that are very polarizing. Some simply state that Justblinds is a great company to work with and provides beautifully crafted products. Others say it is difficult to work with customer service when issues arise, blinds are cut inaccurately, and the hardware this retailer provides is of cheap quality.

Unsolicited product reviews

Since it's hard to know who to believe when there are nearly equal positive and negative reviews about a company, it's always a relief when a company lets customers leave product reviews. This is the case with Justblinds. You can read through what people have to say about the different types of blinds including their appearance, ease of installation, quality, and a description of the product, sometimes with pictures. Justblinds promises that their reviews are unsolicited, but we noticed many of them were from 4-6 years ago. Quality can change a lot during that time, so they aren't quite as reliable as we would hope.

Can't compete

In short, Justblinds is a bit of a shot in the dark as far as the quality you'll get. Sure, they have good prices overall, but they don't offer anything that you can't find at a more reputable, highly-rated window blind company. Since this is the case, you're better off shopping elsewhere.

Where is the Best Place to Buy Window Blinds?

Not only are window blinds essential for privacy (because no one wants to feel like they're living in a fishbowl), they are also a great way to add some flair and color to your home. Whether you're decorating a brand new home or changing up the style of your current home, window blinds are an easy way to give your space an updated feel and add a personal touch.

Window blinds can also help with temperature control in your house by allowing light in or blocking it depending on the season, weather, and time of day. Needless to say, window blinds are a very important part of every home. Once you start shopping online for window blinds, you'll probably be surprised to find how many options there really are.

Window Blinds Store FAQ

Anything you'd find at a store near you is available through online retailers. From aluminum and faux wood blinds to pleated shades and more, you'll have no problem getting the right window treatment for your home or office.
That's easy: selection and value. Your local home improvement store only carries a small range of brands and types of blinds. And, if you call a specialty store, you'll probably get an in-person demonstration with a pushy salesperson directing you towards high-end options. You'll get the most for your money with online retailers, with plenty of colors and styles to choose from and without the overhead of a brick-and-mortar retailer.
It's easy to find blinds on every part of the price spectrum. Whether you want some basic faux-wood blinds to give you more privacy in a street-facing room, or you need the most on-trend window coverings for a luxury home build, you can get it done hassle-free by shopping online.
Many retailers offer free shipping in the lower 48 United States, as long as your blinds are under 96" wide. Otherwise, expect to pay fees around $30 for delivery on larger dimensions of window blinds.
Be sure to look for measuring instructions on the website. They will walk you through each step of taking the proper measurements for the window blinds you want. Make sure you know whether your windows will require an inside mount or an outside mount: that's probably one of the most common mistakes in measuring for blinds.
That depends on the retailer. While there are a few that will let you exchange your blinds if the mistake is on your end (or even let you donate them to a local charity instead of returning them!), many either offer no refund or exchange at all, or will only give you a discount on a reorder. If you're not 100% confident in your measurements, choose a retailer with a generous return policy.
Stores that sell window blinds know that it can be a tricky process to get the right product in the correct size. You can usually reach a knowledgeable customer service representative via phone or live chat during regular business hours. Some retailers can also refer you to a professional installer in your area.
If you're concerned about a store's reputation, look for an "A" rating or higher from the Better Business Bureau. Finding plenty of positive customer reviews is another good sign that the company is trustworthy. Beyond that, buy your window blinds from the retailer that has what you want in stock and that offers the most customer-friendly return policies.

Continued from above...

You could always go with the classic, traditional horizontal slat blinds or a simple roller shade, but it's also fun to branch out to something more unique. Your options are nearly limitless when it comes to color, texture, and size of blinds that are available. Some black out light completely while others still allow a room to feel airy and light without needing to have the window completely exposed. There are so many ways to use window blinds to dress up a room!

Purchasing window blinds used to be a drag since you had to measure all your windows, get price quotes from different companies, and go store-to-store checking out the few options that were available to you. It's easier than ever now with helpful online tools to make sure you order the perfect size for each window, huge selections to choose from, fast price comparison between companies, and the ability for you to have all your blinds delivered straight to your door. You can install the blinds yourself or find a company that offers professional installation so you don't even have to lift a finger.

There are many companies that sell window blinds, so we've provided some important criteria for you to consider when deciding who to buy from:

  • Selection: Does the retailer have a wide variety of style options to choose from? Do they offer samples of their products so you can test out the color and texture in your room to make sure it's a good match? You'll want to make sure the retailer also offers the blinds in a big range of standard and custom sizes so you will get a perfect fit.
  • Price: How does the cost of similar blinds compare between companies? Does the company you're interested in offer free shipping? Do they run periodic sales to give you a discount on your total purchase?
  • Reputation: What do other customers have to say about their window blind purchases with the company? Do they have a rating with the Better Business Bureau? Are they helpful with resolving customer concerns and offering returns or exchanges if you're unhappy with the blinds when they arrive?
