Bike Nashbar has been providing a wide selection of quality bicycle parts and accessories since 1973. Many online bike parts customers are already familiar with Nashbar and their excellent website. In addition to their large inventory of bicycle parts, their customer service is second to none.
Bike Nashbar is fully committed to the customer and that's apparent in several aspects of their business. Their website is easy to use - you simply choose from a handful of categories of bicycle accessories and then further narrow down your search to a reasonable selection of bike products to meet your needs. Along with their well designed website, Bike Nashbar offers their customers a 100% satisfaction guarantee. If you aren't happy with your bicycle parts upon receipt, for any reason at all, you can return them for a full refund. You'll find that Bike Nashbar does not deduct restocking fees from your refunded amount, as do many other online retailers.
Bike Nashbar also offers a low price guarantee on any current national catalog or reputable online retailer. In the course of 15 days after your purchase, they will refund you the difference of the purchase price if the bicycle accessory should go on sale at Nashbar.
Finally, Bike Nashbar's customer service associates are excellent. If you have a bike part question, you can call Nashbar directly and talk to an actual human that understands bikes.
Bike Nashbar sets the standard for bicycle parts stores. Given the combination of a strong performance history, solid pricing and a website committed to the customer, Bike Nashbar receives our highest rating. If you're looking for anything bicycle related, your search should start with Bike Nashbar.
Performance Bicycle has been in business since the mid 80's and provides shoppers both a quality online shopping experience as well as some retail storefronts across the nation.
Performance has a strong website with one of the largest inventories we could find. Historically priced slightly higher than some retailers, Performance Bicycle has drawn a strong body of committed shoppers simply because of their selection and easy to use website.
If you are in a hurry to receive your bike part or accessory Performance Bicycle may be your best option. With affordable overnight shipping and a price protection plan Performance Bicycle is gaining in it's strength and commitment to customer service. We liked that they are willing to refund the difference if an item should go on sale within the next 90 days.
At Performance Bicycle you can anticipate an easy return process should you decide against your purchase or the product doesn't meet your needs. You may return for a full refund with no hassle.
Overall, we felt Performance Bicycle was a strong contender in the bike parts and accessories arena. With an easy to use website, excellent selection and decent pricing they earn high marks.
Jenson USA is an online retailer of bike parts and accessories. Originally started to fund the expenses of the CEO's bike habit, this company knows bikes and is passionate about them. In business for nearly 15 years the company has had it's ups and downs but has seen steady growth for many years.
Jenson USA provides a nice selection of bike parts across several categories. They work with fewer brands than some of the higher ranked companies but have good options to fit the needs of most shoppers.
To navigate their website you simply choose between accessories, clothing, components, bike parts, frames, complete bikes and more. Within those categories you'll find a long list of specific areas to further define your search. When searching through their selection we found that some categories had a long list of options while others only had 1 or 2 products to choose from.
Jenson USA offers a 60 day money back guarantee should you not be satisfied with your purchase simply return the product unused and in new condition. Jenson does not charge a restocking fee so there's little risk to purchase from this company. If you have any questions you'll find expertise and knowledge in the staff that answers the phones at Jenson USA.
Overall, we found Jenson USA offered a nice selection of bike parts and accessories. The selection was not as in depth as some of the other companies ranked higher but provided many quality products to choose from across several categories. With a good return policy and knowledgeable friendly customer service staff, Jenson USA is a good choice for your bike parts needs.
Cambria Bike is an online retailer of bike parts and accessories. They take a casual, fun approach with the website which may or may not attract the younger generation biker. Cambria Bike has been in business since 1986 and currently has four store front locations in California. Their website offers a decent selection of many bike parts across a handful of brands.
The search functionality at Cambria is just ok. You're able to search by brand, category and then further specifics when each category. Once the product list appears it's not as nice to look at as we would have liked. Some of the product details seem to run together and it's not as neat and clean as we would have liked. The category that stood out most to us was the bicycle section. We viewed an abundance of bike types including mountain, bmx, tandem, cyclocross, demo, downhill and many more.
Should not be satisfied with your purchase, Cambria gives you 30 days to return the new product in it's original packaging for a full refund. They do not charge restocking fees that we could identify. Should you have any questions Cambria offers phone numbers to their different stores for your assistance. One store is open 7 days a week should you have a question or need assistance on the weekend.
Cambria offered some nice bike options in their selection. The website functionality was ok but when the list of products would appear it was unappealing and confusing to following down the page. If you are looking for an unusual tandem bike or any other specific type Cambria might be worth your time.
Modern Bike brings the consumer a broad range of bike parts and accessories but not with a modern touch. The website lacks some customer friendly functionality and information that is pretty standard with those companies ranked higher.
Modern Bike is like a toy store to serious bikers. With a large inventory and some unique, hard to find parts Modern Bike is a retailer for those on the hunt for a very specific bike piece. However, be prepared to feel overwhelmed at first. The Modern Bike website is not easy on the eyes. With long lists of products, categories and brands in front of you, on the left side and on the right it's a little overwhelming upon arrival. We were turned off at first by the appearance but once we became comfortable with the search functionality we relaxed a little. We did find their prices to generally be middle of the road in our comparison.
Modern Bike is a little less generous with their return policy. Should you not want, need or like the product that arrives at your door step you have only 14 days to return in original packaging for a full refund. Modern Bike also offers shorter customer service hours Monday through Friday.
Should you need a hard to find bike part Modern Bike is the place to look. Their selection is extremely broad and impressive. However, don't expect a savvy website or many bells and whistles with your visit to Modern Bike.
Arriving at Bike Parts Express we initially felt we had landed at a winner. Our first impressions were strong as we liked the layout of the website, the pictures and the search functionality. However, that opinion changed over time.
Bike Parts Express is both an online retailer and offers a store front in 1 or 2 cities. Unfortunately, we couldn't find any concrete information about the people behind Bike Parts Express or their experience. After perusing the search functionality and checking out the selection we found that the website doesn't always work well. Some pictures would display and others wouldn't. Also, several categories listed had no products available.
Further to our dismay we learned that Bike Parts Express charges a 10 to 15% restocking fee on all returns. This was the first company we had run across, that felt this was necessary - we were disappointed to say the least. Should you not be satisfied with your purchase you are required to call the company and discuss. We wondered if the mood of the personnel answering they phone that day would determine the policy and if they were willing to take it back or not.
While Bike Parts Express has a nicely designed website we found they still have some work to do. Many parts and accessories had no products listed and the return policy was very gray. We felt a purchase with Bike Parts Express could potentially head south if no clear cut policy was stated. If you are looking for bike parts we recommend you shop higher on the list.
Bike Shop Hub is an Arizona based bike parts store located in Arizona. There story seems pretty simple, they divide their products into three categories. Those include bike trailers, bike bags and a kids shop.
Upon arriving at Bike Shop Hub we were surprised with the minimal categories of products they offered and who they might cater too. The sight is misleading at first in that it appears they only offer a dozen products but if you visit it several times, like we had to, we found if we kept on clicking in various areas we'd find a long list of bike trailers, bike bags and kid products. The look and font of the website is unprofessional - we thought they were probably going for fun and free but it didn't pan out well.
The return policy is a bit lengthy at Bike Shop Hub. You have 30 days to return any item in new condition, you must call to get an RMA number, if the item is returned without that magical number they will charge you a 20% restocking fee. The RMA number is only good for 14 days.
We found that most shoppers probably weren't in the market for only a bike bag, trailer or kid bike product and if they were they would probably get lost and make some of the assumptions we did. Without a well functioning website, a friendly return policy or a long list of bike parts - Bike Shop Hub probably won't bring you much success.
Bike Somewhere is a website offering bike parts, apparel, accessories as well as skateboards and other miscellaneous products. Upon arriving at their online store we felt an instant turn-off to many aspects of the website. Bike Somewhere lacks nearly all eliminates of a customer friendly experience across the board.
You'll find the look of the website unprofessional and confusing. If we were simply shopping at Bike Somewhere we would have left immediately. Customer service hours were missing, as well as return policy information, exchanges, you name it. We did find that Bike Somewhere offers a retail bike shop in Florida but that was about it. We called them to ask some detailed questions but they didn't answer during the middle of the day. We starting getting a little concerned.
The selection and brand offerings would vary across the category. When the products would appear they were strangely placed with unattractive pictures.
Bike Somewhere made us want to shop somewhere else. The website was not customer friendly, it lacked important details related customer serious policies, hours of operation and more. We also couldn't get anyone to answer the phone. We had several concerns with shopping at Bike Somewhere.
Whether it's a bicycle tire, gear, break pad, light, mirror, reflector, chain, or more, your chances of finding exactly the right bicycle part in your local store can be very small. Most local bicycle stores are few and far between because they can't make a living off an occasional shopper.
Online bicycle stores are able to service thousands of customers each month with a wide range of bicycle parts and accessories across numerous brand names. Unlike a local bicycle shop, the prices across the internet are lower as a result of reduced overhead costs. You have a great chance of finding the exact bicycle part you're looking for at a price far less than you could in a traditional bicycle store.
A number of online bicycle parts stores exist today to meet the needs of both the novice biker and the more competitive hardcore rider. However, not all bicycle stores are the same.
Before shopping any bike parts stores online, you should consider the following:
