What is the best supplement for maintaining healthy blood pressure? While there are many prescription-based products on the market, many people are turning to over-the-counter, natural remedies for lowering blood pressure or maintaining numbers that are already in the healthy range.

For some, the decision is financial: their insurance may not cover expensive medications, or they may have other reasons for having to cover the costs out of pocket. For others, the reason may be due to health factors: traditional blood pressure medications make them sick, or they interact with other conditions and prescriptions to create more problems.

Cost:

$39.95 per bottle (10-30 days' supply)

Offered by a well-established company that provides numerous all-natural products for a variety of conditions, High-Rite is non-addictive and supports the healthy functioning of the cardiovascular system. High-Rite is 100% herbal and uses four basic ingredients to address blood pressure problems.

These four ingredients include:

  • Hawthorn Leaf and Flower
  • Passion Flower Herb
  • Cramp Bark
  • Ginkgo Leaf

If you take a look at the Ingredients tab on the product page, you'll find references from scientific journals like the American Journal of Medicine that demonstrate the effectiveness of each herbal component. We love how thoroughly Native Remedies describes why each ingredient is included in their blood pressure product.

High-Rite comes in two formats: capsule and liquid. If you take the capsules, you'll start by taking 2 capsules three times a day for the first 10 days. Afterward, you'll shift to 1 capsule twice daily for ongoing maintenance. If you opt for the liquid form, you'll mix 1.25mL of drops in ¼ cup of water and sip slowly, or you can put the drops directly in your mouth. As with the capsules, you'll start by doing this three times daily for 10 days, and then go down to 1 mL twice daily. So, the capsules will last between 10-30 days (60 capsules per bottle), and the liquid will last between 20-30 days, depending on whether you're in the initial phases or in the maintenance phase.

This company offers lots of ways to save money on the products the sell. When we visited the Native Remedies site, we got a pop-up offering a discount of 15% and free shipping on our next order if we signed up for their email newsletter as a first-time customer. Most of their supplements are included in their Buy 2 Get 1 Free program, so you may want to either buy more than one bottle of High-Rite at a time or browse the site to see if there are any other products you'd be interested in trying.

It's impossible to find a blood pressure product that works flawlessly for 100% of the people who use it. That's why we were excited to see so many positive reviews on the Native Remedies site. Some people report seeing improvements very quickly, while others needed to use the product for several weeks or more. Fortunately, Native Remedies offers a 1-year money-back guarantee: and they require you to give High-Right at least 30 days before requesting your refund (which is a great way to make sure you have enough time to really give it a shot).

Native Remedies also has a very responsive customer service team; you'll see that on many of the reviews from customers as well as the Q&A tab next to the Reviews tab. The company genuinely wants to help you improve your health, especially if you have high blood pressure.

Although High-Rite isn't the least expensive product in our review - especially during the first 10 days when you have to use more of it - it's brought relief to many people with blood pressure issues and is backed by a reputable company that really cares about its customers. High-Rite should be on your list of products to consider when looking for a blood pressure supplement.

Cost:

$67 - 1-month supply

$127 - 3-month supply ($42.33 each)

$187 - 6-month supply ($31.17 each)

Hypavera helps control blood pressure by promoting the dilatation of blood vessels, regulating the heartbeat, and assisting the kidneys in keeping the right levels of sodium in the body. How does this supplement go about doing that?

Hypavera contains the following ingredients in its gluten-free, vegan capsules:

  • Garlic deodorized: natural cardiovascular support
  • Dandelion leaf: promotes excretion of salts and water from the kidneys
  • Hawthorn berries: helps dilate blood vessels and support circulation
  • Linden: relaxes the respiratory system
  • Celery seed: helps maintain healthy blood pressure and cholesterol
  • Ginkgo biloba leaf: helps with peripheral blood flow
  • Skullcap: calms the nervous system, benefitting heart function
  • Mistletoe: offers cardiovascular support
  • Yarrow: reduces inflammation
  • Cinnamon: promotes healthy levels of LDL and blood sugar
  • Valerian root: clams the nervous system
  • Ginger: offers magnesium, calcium, potassium and phosphorus

The creators of Hypavera state that each ingredient works in synergy to lower blood pressure, making the outcome even more effective than the sum of the parts.

It's important to point out that the makers of Hypavera recommend that you take an increased dosage in the first 10 days. In other words, a 90-count bottle will only last a total of 20 days instead of the usual 30. Be sure to order accordingly.

Hypavera, along with all products offered by MedcoSouth, comes with a phenomenal 1-year guarantee on your first order. You'll need to return all of the bottles you originally purchased, whether they're opened, empty, or unused, after getting an RMA number from the customer service department. That guarantee is a great reason to make your first order one of their larger packages, saving you on the monthly cost at no risk.

However, information on MedcoSouth was hard to come by. We didn't find a company listing with the Better Business Bureau, and looking at Google Maps to see the headquarters location left us pretty uninspired: MedcoSouth wasn't even listed on the signs showing which companies are in the small building in Las Vegas. That left us wondering how hard it might be to make a claim on that satisfaction guarantee if a customer wanted to return Hypavera.

The Hypavera site was also challenging to navigate: the images and text are cluttered, there are spelling errors, and it didn't feel as professional as many of the blood pressure products we reviewed.

Independent customer reviews were almost nonexistent. For a company that has been in business since 2001, we would have expected to see many more comments and reviews about Hypavera, but the glowing testimonials on the product site were not matched on third-party sites.

Hypavera might be a great product for high blood pressure. But, as one of the most expensive products on the market and a less-than-impressive website, Hypavera comes in towards the bottom of our rankings.

Continued from above

With more than 100 million Americans with high blood pressure, according to research done by the American Heart Association, it's no surprise that these alternative products are gaining in popularity. While each supplement varies in approach, the majority combine herbal ingredients that have been used for many years for a variety of health conditions with common minerals like calcium and magnesium.

Addressing high blood pressure is extremely important. Why? The CDC states that more than 400,000 people in the US die every year from high blood pressure as a primary or contributing cause. Unfortunately, only half of the 75 million Americans with high blood pressure actually have the condition under control.

So, maybe you've changed your diet, you're eating less sodium, you're exercising more and you've quit smoking - but your blood pressure is still high. What should you look for in a good blood pressure product? Here are some things to keep in mind as you compare the different supplements on the market:

  • Cost. What will you spend each month for the blood pressure product? Are there any savings if you buy more than a month's supply in your order? How does the cost compare with other products?
  • Ingredients. What does the supplement use to tackle high blood pressure? Are there any herbal ingredients you may be allergic to, or any minerals that you're already getting in other supplements? Are the ingredients proven to work to reduce blood pressure?
  • Return Policy. If the blood pressure product doesn't lower your numbers, can you get your money back?

TopConsumerReviews.com has reviewed and ranked the best blood pressure products available today. We hope this information helps you select the right blood pressure product that will lead to a healthy you!
